Zen Vision M Freezes start

hello. i just recently bought my creative zen vision m off ebay and i received it last thursday. everythign worked great. i use it at work on night shift and it makes time go by so much faster. however, last night somethign terribly went wrong. it FROZE during a track and i tried resetting it and it shows the creative logo and it freezes when it says "ZEN". the first time this happened i went into recovery mode and did a disc clean up and it worked fine. it froze again and i did a disk clean up again and it didn't work. it kept getting stuck at the "ZEN' screen. now i have it plugged into my computer and it is making wierd clicking noises. i don't know why it is doing this. i accidentally dropped it at work one night while walking and changing a track i dont' know if that did it or not. now i am thinking tha my only solution is to go to best buy, buy a brand new one and return this one in the box. i just do not know what else to do...any suggestions?thanks.... jon?

hey, i bought mine brand new frm ebay as well, and again was working great. and it has just frozen on a track as i went to skip. but how did u even get it to restart, mine is just stuck on the track page!...want do anything, not even turn off. its strange, the light is still dimmin out and lightimg up again wen i press a button, but nothings happening, its not even changing wen i plug it into teh comp. Zen Vision is Freezing, please he

My Zen Vision is freezing.
I have rendered a 2megabit/sec mpeg2 640x480 clip with 28kbs mp3 44.khz progressi've.
It plays but then after a while the video freezes and the whole device freezes. I have to remove and replace the battery to bring it back to life. This is terrible news. We are about to buy 20 of these things to supply our client's regional offices each with one of these. I was the one who said, dont use Archos, and Ipod has a crappy screen.
I upgraded the firmware yesterday afternoon, and wonder what I can do to prevent this happening.

You could try rebuilding - with the Zen turned on, press the reset button (at the bottom next to data connector) with something like a straightened out paper clip. This will make the Zen reread all the tracks and rebuild it's database. It'll take a few minutes. Zen Vision: M freezing probl

My 30 gb Zen Vision: M has frozen twice now, where the screen completely freezes on one song and no matter what I press, nothing happens.
When it first happened, I simply let it die out of batteries and charged it up full and it was good...but this time, I did that over 5 times and still its frozen
I let it die out, then charge it to the fullest, turn it up, screen says "Rebuilding" then it goes to that same screen of the song where it froze...is there anything I can do here to fix the problem? I really don't want to lose my songs..

Zen Vision:M Freezes When Connecting it to PC

-I have a Zen Vision:M that I am attempting to sync with Windows Media Player on my Windows XP (SP 3). This has been working normally. However, now when I attempt to sync?it, I get a "USB Device Not Recognized" popup window and my mp3 player freezes and I am forced to reset it. After resetting, the mp3 player functions normally until I attempt to connect it to my pc again.
What do I need to do to get my mp3 player to sync normally?

Try using a different USB cable if you have one. Usually, this is caused by a bad cable. On the device side, do a cleanup. Boot from the recovery mode and select CleanUp then Reboot. For reference, steps on how to boot from the recovery mode is here. Hope this hel

Zen Vision M freezing

I loved my Zen Vision when it arri'ved but have had to return it because it was freezing every time I used it. I have had the new one 2 hours and it has frozen twice already. I have downloaded new firmware as the helpdesk suggested and it has not helped. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just incredibly unlucky? I bought Zen instead of ipod because of the bad fault history with ipods, but now I am having just as bad an experience with Zen.
Will it be third time lucky if I send this one back or should I bite the apple?

I have had my Zen Vision M since May and I love it like crazy, but it freezes up to. I work crazy hours and am never home during the times that customer support is open.
I can no longer return this device to Amazon since I purchased it in May.
I will be playing the device and press the button to skip to the next track and it will freeze up on me. Sometimes I can get through 0-20 songs before it does that and sometimes it happens after the second song. The power button, nothing works at all. I also get playback error messages sometimes too --- but the freezing up is very very annoying.
Thank god I wear earings that are small enough to fit in the reboot hole on the device, otherwise I would be lost. After it reboots the freezing up problem usually happens again. I have songs from CD's, and songs that I have burned from Yahoo. It happens on all different songs.

ZEN Vision V freezes and now wont even turn

I dropped my Zen vision V?(3 feet or so) while it was on . At first it would turn on but freeze and would have to reset it, but no it wont even turn on, the power light just flashesany one know whats wrong and can give me a way to fix itand if i have to send it back anyone know how much it might cost?

Did you charge the battery?

Creative ZEN vision M Freezing (30

Hi my Creative ZEN vision M has stopped working, i was at shcool, worked fine when i went in, when i was leaving i turned it on, started loading as normal, it got stuck on the "ZEN" loading screen and wouldnt trun off, so i let its battery run out and then plugged it into my PC. It then didnt respond straight away, only the blue light on the lock button was flashing,took about 40mins later the battery icon appeared on the player and charging, also appeared on my Dekstop as in but Creative labs couldnt find it to change music etc.When it had charged the same thing keeps happening, i have tried reseting it and holding the power down for 30 seconds, cant find anyone with a simmilar problem.

Have you tried the recovery tool?
If that does not help, you might want to get in touch with support for further assistance.
Go to the Support section of the website and select your product. On your right, click on Contact Us. You will be provided with a list of troubleshooting options. Click on the one closes to your issue. Go through the suggestions and if the does not work or you have already tried that, scroll to the bottom and click on No, escalate to email. This should bring you to the email form to contact support.

Creative Zen Vision:M freezes on start

I've been having loads of problems with this player ever since I got it. it's been in and out of repair at least 6 times, and I've wasted more money on shipping and handling than I did even buying that thing.
What's happening to the player is that it freezes when I start it up. It's not on the Creative logo, I've had that problem before. It gets past the logo and shows a black screen, not that that's any better. I tried cleaning up and formatting the player but it didn't help. I am not going to even think about deleting the firmware and reinstalling it, because last time I did that the firmware wouldn't detect the player even though the computer would, and this time the computer doesn't detect the player at all, so I see no point.
Is there anything I can do to fix this other than sending the player in for repair again? I'm willing to take the thing apart if I have to, but I really don't want to send it in again. If there's no other option but sending it in, how much will it cost? The warranty is over. If I get desperate enough I might just send it in one final time before taking chucking it in the dumpster.
I don't understand what compelled me to choose this over ipod. I mean, even the other 2 players I bought and the Creative WebCam sucked, what was I expecting.
I'm trying my best not to sound too rude or anything, so I apologize if I do. I'm just incredibly frustrated.

I've buy a new vision:M but i have a problem!
the player dosen't want turn it on!
If i connect the player with usb cable i see the blue led flashing (changing).. but i can't able to power on the player! I've try to switch and hold the power button up to 30 sec. Nothing appens!
maybe it need a long change before start the first time?

Were you able to fix the problem yet? Because my player just started doing that today and I can't even go into the recovery mode. I have no idea whats going on!!

Zen Vision: M freeze up! Yarrr

When I turned it off, the whole thing completely froze on the "Shutting off" screen and though I tried "Reset" and holding buttons and such, it wouldn't turn off or restart. And now it's battery is drained. What should I do?

I have the same problem for my player too, first time i have it replaced from the store i purchased. The problem of the player is the date reset by itself. 2nd time which is now, my player froze at the first startup? logo. Which i can't even get into recovery page. Regreted spending my money for a piece of Txxxh. Their?00% customer support is a disaster,?poor after-sales services, poor technical knowledge. They?don't?have good inter-communciation?between their departments. Commit and provide false info to the customers. Will be my last time supporting Creative products.
WARNING DO CONSIDER THE BELOW BEFORE PURCHASING SOME OF THEIR MP3 PLAYERS. . I was told by creative customer support that they have change the policy that they don't replace any faulty unit anymore. THEY ONLY REPAIR THE PROBLEM. If your hardisk is damaged they will change the hardisk but (who knows it is also a repaired hardisk). 2. Do not purchase the black Zen vision M 30GB. The player get scratches easily no matter how you protect it. Take note that the green player too, (screen was not well done) can be observed by the corner of the screen. Looks like cheap production. 3. New Firmware may cause corruption to your player. 4. Poor techinical support, that only teach you their "heavenly method" (Recovery Mode) and anticipate you problems with no solution. 5. Unable to contact?customer support. (their hotline only allows?you to enquire technical issue and sales issue)?6. If you are not satisfied with their customer support, try and make a complain. They will filter it and no reply, but you can applause for their auto email reply within 24 hours. That is the best reply you can get. 7. Product seems to be using cheap hardwares. After year, you can expect your player?to self destruct anytime.

My zen vision:m is starting to run slowly. It started right after my player froze and i reset it.Now its really slow and barely even switches screens sometimes.Right now its just a black screen with the keypad lit up.Whats wrong with it'sI NEED HELP!

Question for an owner of Zen Vision

I'm considering buying one and I like most of the things I've read. It's now between the iPod Video and Vision M. But I have an iRi'ver and there's a major problem with the random function. It will only play from about 200 songs, all with titles at the beginning of the alphabet, because I have a lot of music. I need a player that will select randomly from ALL of my songs. Can the Vision M do this? I'm pretty sure the iPod can.

the vision m has been having some serious (and i do mean serious) reliability issues...tons and tons of failing units (known as the black screen of death somewhere around here) problem that neither CL nor the users have been able to solve. One day you are a happy camper with it and the next day BAM! the player is completely dead and the only solution there exists is to change it for a new one (RMA'ing it). To prove it you can just search within this forums or search in google for: zen vision m freezes or zen vision m freees booting and you will find some links directing here with topics of people who have had the same problem as me...a DEAD zen vision m...

Hi..my zen vision M 30gb started in recovery mode and the screen show me the following message "need to reload the firmware". Im connect it into my computer? and nothing happened.. The player is not reconized or detected for my computer. Im connect it im my laptop and the same problem, nothing happened.. The screen show the battery indicator, charge the battery (amazing)?and turn on when im plugged...Please if somebody can help me to resolved this big problem, im regards for ever..
