Zen Vision:M keeps turning itself

Had one of the new slimmer 60gb models for a couple of months, but in the last few days has taken to randomly turning itself on.
Happens at no set time, from a few minutes after turning off to a few hours. Seems to power down as normal, and having the power switch locked doesn't affect it at all. Done a recovery and put the latest 60gb firmware on it (.2.02?) but not changed anything. When it comes back on it'll start playing again, running the battery down
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm having a similar issue with my old Zen Touch. I think I've narrowed it down to a thermal expansion issue. The player seems to turn itself on more frequently when the weather outside gets colder. I carry it around in my pocket all the time and although the pocket is inside the insulation it must still be enough of a temperature variation to somehow trigger the player. Either that or the increase in frequency is a coincidence... I'm not entirely sure. Either way, it's driving me crazy that whenever I turn on my player it's battery is already depleted, even if I charged it the last time I used it. I'm considering getting a **competitor product** to replace it. I'd get another creative player but I want more than 30GB.Message Edited by Dale-CL on 0-22-2008 0:02 AM

  • Crap... Zen Vision M keeps resetting itself

+^ I pressed the reset button while it was charging to toy with it to get off a frozen screen, and now it keeps turning itself off and on.
I've pressed the button several times more to see if it was just stuck
no change, unplugged it, pressed it, no change
please tell me I did not just screw myself over big time...

/ Well, this is a refurb that I just received the wall charger to. When I plug it it, it loads to a creative screen, then one that says Zen, and freezes with colored pixels dotting the screen. So I tried pressing the reset button just messing around with it to see if it would help, and I got it to stop auto-resetting but now whenever I press the reset button it's a toss up between it freezing, or staying in auto reset.
Also, charged overnight in the 'frozen' screen, and as far as I can tell it held no charge I tried to turn it on holding the slider over as long as a minute with no response so..
Any suggestions I've heard having it hooked up to the wall charger and USB simultaneously allowed some people to use it and update firmware (which I'm sure is another problem) but, my wall charger doesn't have a USB connection the USB port was built into a little dock that came with it, so I'm not sure how I can plug them both in

  • My iPhone 3GS keeps turning itself off all the time for no reason every time I put it on silent or just get a Facebook message I have a broken sleep/power button anyone know how to fix this problem?

My iPhone 3GS keeps turning itself off all the time the power/sleep button dosent work so it's quiet annoying having to plug it in all the time dose anyone have a fix for this?

The "fix" is to get the phone repaired.  There's no magic solution for a broken phone.
Bring your phone ant $149 to Apple for an out of warranty replacement, or find a 3rd party repair shop near you.

  • HT1430 I am trying to charge my iPad but it won't charge & keeps turning itself on and off

I am trying to charge my iPad but it won't charge & keeps turning itself on and off

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

If you have restored to factory settings and started as new, there is nothing more that you can do on your own. Make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask them for help. You might have a hardware problem and the Apple Store techs will be able to determine that.

  • Blackberry Pearl keeps turning itself on and off then searching for network...........

Hi people, not sure if anybody can help however I have a Blackberry Pearl 9105 and for the past 2 weeks its keeps turning itself off and on and also keeps saying 'searching for network' at random times.  I therefore thought it may require a new battery so brought a new battery - was fine for 5 hrs and then started doing it again!
Any ideas on what it could be please...............it is quite old now and am due an upgrade at the end of August which is so annoying.  Vodafone won't let me upgrade early either.  If no-one knows am going into a vodafone store on Saturday to see of they can test it!
But I'm so lost without it - I have brought a cheap emergency mobile however I miss my blackberry!!
    Thanking you in advance!

    Hey zmblake,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
I would suggest to do a clean reload of the BlackBerry® device software as shown here: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320, please test before restoring any data to the device.
If this resolves the issue do a selective restore of essential data (Address Book, Calendar, Task, Memos, BBM contacts etc.)

  • My ht-ct80 sound bar keeps turning itself off every 15min.

4 days ago I bought a htct80 sound bar and it keeps turning itself off every 15min. I serched the internet for a solution to no avail. So I need a answer from sony. Its a great sound bar while its on. Please give me a solution or i will have to take it back for a refund this weekend. If anyone else is having this ptoblem. And i know there are many please reply to this post. The more that reply the more likely we will get a rwsponse from sony.

    Hello everyone,
The Sound Bar turning off every 15minutes is related to the Auto Standby function due to the Sound Bar not receiving an input signal.  Unfortunately, there are two conditions where the sound bar will recieve a low input signal that results in the Auto Standby triggering incorrectly.
The first case is when the TV’s headphone jack serves as an audio output jack.  This is not a recommended method for Audio Input for the Soundbar.  If you are using this method, check the TV’s audio output settings. For details, refer to the TV’s operating instructions.  If you can not change audio output setting, set up TV volume which is strong enough to prevent it from entering Standby mode.
The second case is when you are using a set-top box (Cable box) that has a volume setting.  You can either change the Audio Settings on the set-top box for Fixed Audio Out (if available) or increase the volume on the set top box(Cable box) to maximum setting and then adjust the volume on the Sound Bar itself to obtain the desired actual volume.
    Thank you,
    ---Chris
