  • Zen Vision M 30gB: How Do You Add DVD Movi

Just received this player as a gift from a friend. I think he got it at DELL. It was easy adding Music and it sounds great. I have to figure out how to use the Equilizer, Smart Sound (keeps sound levels constant) and Bass Boost...to arri've at the best sound quality. Takes some fiddiling as each changes quality. Through much trial and error i figured out how to add some video clips i had stored on my computer. They had to be converted even though they were in the acceptable AVI. format. Convertion TAKES A VERY LONG TIME to WMA but at least it worked. I then figured out how to download a "Simpsons" episode from Kazaa and convert it,? and load it to the player. Conversion of the 30 minute episode took some 2 hours. I did all this on Zen Vision Media Explorer software that came with the unit. BUT:I HAVE NO WAY OF ADDING DVD MOVIES! I tried using the Media Explorer? - Convert Video - Add: i select Dri've E: / DVD - Spiderman II ...but i get folders with lots of weird files and it doesnt work. Isnt the point of a Video player to have a drag and drop DVD movie feature?HELP.

I'm afraid we cannot allow discussion of ripping commercial DVD on the forum, for legal reasons. I'm sure you will be able to find more information by using search engines or from some other websites.

I'm getting this message on my I-pad 2 while using my Uverse app

There is no problem using the Netflix app.

There isn't a workaround, if you get that message then the provider has blocked using Airplay or an external monitor. Contact Uverse and ask them to remove the block.

  • Zen Vision:M adding unhighlighted items to Now Play

My brand new Vision:M has just begun adding the item below what I have highlighted to the "Now Playing" list instead of what I wanted. I updated the firmware to . immediately after receiving the player.
Anyone else have this problem. After I click on "add to selected", the highlight bar drops down to the next item and that's the item that's added. Very undesireable and confusing. No real help from Creative email support.

Sidenote everyone: My post may have been somewhat misleading. The computer recognizes the Zen, as in, if I go under "My Computer" and whatnot it shows it as being there, what's not recognizing it is Creative MediaSource. The computer knows its there and a window asking what I want to do pops up every time I plug the Zen in, but when I run MediaSource, which is the specific version for this type of operating system, it won't recognize it and hence I can't transfer files. Sorry for the confusion.

The arrows Allowing us to return to the previous page are no longer appearing on our desktop.

First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Serious Issues with Creative Zen Vision M 3

This all started when I was fast forwarding through a track and it freezes. So, I did reset and it's in recovery mode, whereas usually it will just restart again. So I tried turining it on and off and was still stuck in Recovery Mode. Tried plugging it into the computer, the computer doesn't recognize it. I did everything the website told me to, but my computer will not recognize that it is plugged into the usb. When I have it docked it will not let me do anything at all. I tried to clean it up and it stays in "scan disk" for hours,I tried to format it, knowing it would erase everything but hoping it would fix, and when I tried to format it, I got a message saying "harddisk problem", when I rebbot it simply reboots back to Recovery Mode and the other option I have is reload firmware, and it prompts me to start updating firmware, but my computer won't even recognize that it is plugged in , in the first place, so I am at a loss with what to do next. The best help Creative can give me is email support. As most of you probably have found out there is no technical support phone number, only for returns/exchanges. I am using Windows Vista if that makes a difference, which it probably does since nothing seems to work on Winows Vista, and when I look at My computer, it shows that the device is present, but yet I can't access it through any media source or when trying to install this firmware? garbage. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thank you in advance. Sarah

  • Zen Vision Update Issue

I have a new problem with my trusty Zen Vision. It will not allow me to add two different songs with the same name from my PC Library. Is there a way round this ? Thanks

When I rip tracks from CDs I name them this way "track # - song name". So a song would look like "0-Day Tripper" and so on for each track of the album. If there are 2 songs with the same name it wont matter as the filename would still be unique. Eg.. if 'Day tripper' is twice on one album as track 2 and 8, then the file name would look something like '02-Day Tripper' & ' 08-Day Tripper'.
That's how I name the files. I have a feeling if you added track numbers to either the tag or the filename that may sort out this issue.
Are you using the Creative Centrale software to transfer your music?

  • Zen Vision:M, Mediasource transfer problem and Digital Camera

It used to work. Norton 360 has made a mess of lots of things...
I can no longer transfer via Mediasource to my Zen Vision:M 60gb. I can view, play and rename files from Mediasource and I can transfer to the Vision:M via windows explorer (of course you don't get the benefits of gracenote or other tag modification programs). I have also noticed that on my XP "My Computer" the device shows up as both MY Zen (digital player) and and as Zen? DVP-HD004 as a Digital Camera. Is the digital camera piece related to the problem and/or normal?

The 60GB has a USB host feature for transfering pictures directly to the player that the 30GB does not have.Since the motherboard is not the same that makes sense.Have you tried turning off your Anti-Virus when you need to transfer files?

  • Zen Vision M : 60GB sound issue solv

Hello, yesterday, i?we bought a ZEN Vision M:60GB player and a after playing few tracks, i was looking for a reason of sound hissing a scratching. In this forum i found an answer why,but i cannot find if it was patched or repaired in next firmware For 30GB Zen is available version .6 (-was it patched? in this version) ,for my 60GB is available .20.
    Sorry for my English,
    Thanks for any answers.

I've tried 3 different firmwares(EU and US) ,reformatting player and reloading of firmware, but with no effect. It is a problem with every 6th song on average. Especially it is markable on tracks, which was grabbed from original CD's without any loss sound of quality(like on tracks downloaded from internet)and with full sound spectrum.Very bad on sound with bass.
With enabled equalizer...no matter which preset-it is worse..
On my old mp3 player (Iri'ver ifp999) and with equalizer enabled on U-bass or Rock-the sound on these 'bad' tracks is excellent...full of bass without ANY sound distortion.
On my X-FI without sound distortion too. I'm using these headphones: Koss Porta Pro and Sony MDR-EX5.
    I'm sad about it.
After reading many threads in forum about Vision M-i'm sure, that it's not only my problem. If it is a problem of compatibility od hardware and firmware in ZEN,could it be fixed in next firmware?
    Thanks for answer

  • ZEN Vision:M Album picture is

    Hello,
    I got a Creative Zen Vision:M
I notice that some of my albums while playing them do show a picture of the album cover along on the display along with the text.
Most of the albums that are plaied just show text and I want to make every album to show picture of cover when played.
    How?
    Best Regards,
    Britney!

Connect your ZVM to the PC and go into Zen Vison M Media Explorer. Then go to browse media. In the VIEW tab at the top, switch to album view. Then go into your music collection and go into the artists folder. Then go into the album folder within the artists folder and you will notice a blank image with a musical note and a disk. Drag and drop the picture of the album you want in there and it will (it should) show up on your ZVM.
Keep in mind you won't be able to do this if you have Windows Media player . So if you have it, get rid of it.
After you are done (this will take long if you plan to do it for all the albums) then disconect the Zen and reset it so the album art will show accordingly.

  • Zen vision m- busted scr

Well, the lcd in my zen vision m cracked. That kinda sucks. I know it's past warranty so I was wondering if there are any places out there that sell replacements.
    Thanks.

It's probably just as cheap to buy a new one, but you might try ZenRepair.com.
If the music still plays, I'd just use it as a huge capacity Zen Stone.

  • Zen Vision M - I am never buying another Creative MP3 Product aga

For years I bought their MP3 players because it's obvivous it has the better sound quality, but the **bleep**ty support, endless firmware issues and crappy software just makes me want to take a sledge hammer to the **bleep**. Its obvivous that both the Apple IPOD and the ZEN Vision M has issues. But it does not appear that either company seems interested in fixing the problems. IPOD - Crappy Sound.ZEN Vision M - Crappy software and crappy firmware.
Maybe Creative should get together with Apple and make a great sounding visually pleasing IPOD. Until then my MP3 days are over, but it was great while it lasted.Message Edited by Dane on 04-07-20070:30 PM

So I gotta say... I have to agree a bit! I had so many problems with my Zen vision:m and felt that the ipod was just a stupid option. I then desided to try and li've with it and make the best of having such a adapting machine... I now have made my own ecosystem with Urge and windows media player! It works great and I have just been up on the Customer service intill they gave me good service. I am now doing great and wish that creative would make more updates... but I will li've!
