Zen Vision:M sync Windows er

I've been having the "Windows has encountered an error, would you like to send this error to Microsoft" blah blah, whatever it says, you know which one... It happens every time I try to sync my player. It gets just about all the way through the transferring and then it just shows the error. Nothing gets transfered, even though the transfer bar goes to 100%.
I am running Windows XP with SP3. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it's?

Now I synced it with Windows Media Player and all of the songs got transferred over. When I went to sync it with Creative Media Source Sync Manager it only had 25 songs out of the many I transferred through WMP. It transferred only 5 of them, and said there was an error, and there was now Windows error that shut the program down this time.

  • Can no longer transfer .wav files to Zen Vision:M in Windows Media Player

Ok, first off let me state my goal so that if anyone knows a way for me to accomplish it without WMP that would be ideal:
I'm trying to copy lossless (wav) music files to my Zen Vision M including album art and all the information the player needs for artist, album, etc (rather than just plopped into the "all tracks" section.
Until today I was accomplishing this just fine in WMP. I would sync up my player and everything worked relati'vely well. Then today for some reason windows now wants to convert my wavs to WMA before copying to my zen. I don't know why and it's really irritating me. There must be a solution because it was working just a couple days ago on the same machine!
    Thanks for your help

Well I figured it out. Turns out if you go to Sync(little down arrow)>DEVICE_NAME>Advanced Options>Quality if you leave it on automatic it will transfer wav files, but if you change it (I did without knowing) then the highest quality you're going to get is 92 WMA.

  • Zen Vision M and Windows Media Player 11 SOLUT

Ok this is for all of you that have Windows Media Player (WMP ) and can't get your album art to be displayed.
    Go here
Support (You will see this near the top of your screen in the orange bar)
    2 Software AutoUpdate
3 Accept (this will only work I you player is connected tour computer)
4 You will now be told what device you have connected on your computer
5 Check Update (this may take a couple of minute even with broadband)
    And Download this
[size="">5. Creative Media Explorer Update for Creative ZEN Vision:M? (4.49 MB)?? 29 Nov 06????? Download Now[/b]
[size="">This update resolves compatibility issues between Creative Media Explorer or Creative MediaSource? Player/Organizer, and Windows Media? Player (WMP). For more details, read the rest of this web release note.
This update has rectified the problem for me If these steps do not work for you try looking for the download direct by doing the following
Support (You will see this near the top of your screen in the orange bar)
2 Downloads (Follow the steps to select the product YOU have)
3 Select YOUR Language and YOUR Operating System, leave file types set to All
    4 Click Go
    5 Download Patch
I have the latest Firmware installed (found it easiest to do using the Software AutoUpdate section of the website) even installed with WMP on my pc.
Also I updated my creative media explorer, which allowed me to convert more video files from the same place. I found this really usefull.
I have?NOT had the problem of my player not being recognised when connected to my pc and unfortunately I do not know how to solve that problem, sorry, hope some one else can help you with that.

Well I figured it out. Turns out if you go to Sync(little down arrow)>DEVICE_NAME>Advanced Options>Quality if you leave it on automatic it will transfer wav files, but if you change it (I did without knowing) then the highest quality you're going to get is 92 WMA.

i wanna buy a zen vision m but.will it install on my xp if i dont have no service packs?

TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF WINDOWS XP NOT RECOGNIZING YOUR PLAYER
SIMPLY GO TO CREATIVES KNOWLEDGE BASE AND SEARCH ((( ZEN VISION M NOT RUNNING ON WINDOWS XP ))) AND IT WILL PULL UP THE SOLUTION AS ((( MTP DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED BY WINDOWS XP ))) AND THERE YOU GO . ZVM RULES :-)

  • Creative Zen Vision W Sync Mana

    Hi everyone here!
I have this zen vision W and whenever, i want to sync with my PC using the creative sync manager, it seems crashing on me. Any idea to resolve it's?

Yes & no It uses a library database from (by default) the My Music folder of your documents to build a music library. You add the files to the sycn list in the program or playlist & click sync. Has an options menu for you to set up. My advice is to use Manual for syncing not auto-sync.

  • Zen Vision 30GB SYNC is absurdly S

I upgraded from a 20GB Jukebox Zen Xtra to a Vision 30GB (NOT the M model) and have had a nightmare trying to transfer all my music files (about 20GB) from the Jukebox to my new Vision player. In Media Organizer, my Zen Xtra opens fine, lists the files quickly, and sync'd all the files to my desktop computer in less than an hour. (There were a few errors on some files but that's another story). But loading them from the computer to the Zen Vision in Media Organizer is ridiculous. It takes over 5 minutes just to load the Vision contents, and then it transfers at a rate of about a track or two a minute. At this rate it will take over 24 hours to load all the tracks on to my player. I was expecting the new player to be faster than the old one, not slower! This is unacceptable! Is there any kind of error anyone knows about that I could have introduced somehow to slow things down? This can't be the way it's supposed to work!

i'm feeling ya brother, i upgrade mine xtra 40G to ZVM as well, and when i open my music list, it's usually 0 min wait, so what i do is go do some dishes then come back. Or you can try to use media monkey, it's faster than mediasource, but somehow it doesn't let you edit as much mp3 tags as the mediasource.

  • Creative zen vision: m syncing problems-please he

if I use WMP to sync playlists to my vision:m, it will sync all the tracks in the playlist but not the playlist itself.
    what do I do?

i don't use media player to sync playlists. So i don't know if it will add the file again. Try it I can tell you that Wmp0 did add it again. that may be something that was fixed in WMP. If it adds a duplicate delete it just do a short one for testing. All my music is cds ripped as albums so i can use the creative media explorer to to playlists. i don't have individual lone tracks. The media explorer works perfect when your music library is organized when it isn't then i guess it would seem retarded.

  • Creative Zen Vision: M 30 gb - DRM information corrupt or missing.....???????

So I just started having this problem yesterday but it seem I'm the only ever to have it. I've scanned every page I can and can't find a solution. Yesterday I started playing my music then all of the sudden it stopped. Granted I was having problems before even though I just got this unit a month..........! I sent an email and still haven't received a response.
Here's the problem. While listening to my music yesterday I encountered a message saying - Playback Error. This error persisted after changing the track. After going home and reformatting, reinstalling firmware, downgrading -> upgrading firmware, reformatting over and over and over again, disk clean up, system restore, reboots, default restore, reformatting, again reformatting, deleting every piece of information I could delete...... you might be getting the picture so far.... After doing all of this I was unable to download tracks again onto my MP3 player. The only ones I can upload are unprotected content. I got thinking maybe there is a problem in my DRM file..... Where is my DRM file on the MP3 player and how do I delete it's You can't. At least not what I found. So again I tried everything over and over again and nothing works. I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. I have a 30gb Creative Zen Vision: M player, Windows XP/Vista 64, Napster ToGo and now I can't use my MP3. This unit is a month old and I cannot use it. PLEASE HELP ME. This is very long winded but I'm hoping this will help a little. Thanks in advance, I'm going insane without my music.

Well I have never used a service like that. That's all I can think of off hand.

  • Zen Vision M and Vi

When I was using my Zen Vision M with Windows XP, I can add album artworks through Zen Media Explore by setting the view to "Album View". But now I am on Vista, the Zen Media Explore doesn't have the "Album View" option anyway so I can't add album artworks. Anyway has any ideas?

Yeah I know WMP works, but it doesn't always find the right artwork and track information. I manually tagged all of my music under iTunes and added the album arkworks myself. I just don't understand why they took the function away in Zen Media Explore for Vista.

  • Zen Vision:m 30gb doesn't work properly with Windows 7 64bit

I recently upgraded my pc from an old xp machine to a new one running windows 7 ultimate. Creative says their media player software that originally shipped with the zen does not support windows 7, so i should use windows media player (the version that ships with windows 7; i cannot find a help dialog box with the version number). Creative also says that the zen vision:m uses only microsoft MTP drivers, so I don't need to upgrade any drivers and it should be compatible. However, although the zen vision:m connects fine and I can see the mp3 files on the zen HDD, I cannot play them in the main windows media player screen. I can only double click on files and play them in the small windows media player window without any controls. Of course, I can't import any of the zen mp3 files into the music library in windows media player or set up any playlists. I checked every menu item and dialog box that i can think of on my zen and in windows 7, but nothing appears to be relevant to this problem. Any ideas, other than buying a brand new mp3 player? TIA

When you connect it & open it WMP click on the SYNC tab of the program. Choose the files you want to sync to the computer then hit SYNC . The files should transfer to the computer. (check your settings as to where you want the files to go.)

  • Zen Vision M 30Gb and Windows 7

Hi. I have problem with my player. I installed windows 7 and zen media organizer 5. Windows and windows media player 2 detect player. If I want transfer music to my player by creative organizer, organizer writing ,,No Creative MP3 player is detected. Please connect your Mp3 player and try again". But really player is connect and i can use windows explorer to open music folder inside player.A player works as hard disk without problem. Do you know, how this problem solve? Thank you.

I know this thread is old, but I'm having this same issue. WMP2 will find it fine on my Windows 7 64-bit. When trying to use ZENCast Organizer, it will not connect. On top of that, none of the settings I set in ZENCast organizer related to the Zen Vision:M will stay set. Something to do with the use of ProgramData folder in Win 7?

  • Windows 7 64 bit driver for the Zen Vision M?

    - Where EXACTLY can I find the Windows 7 64-bit driver for the Zen Vision M? My new computer came with it installed in Windows Media Player 2, but the driver became corrupt. I can't seem to find that driver on the Creative or Microsoft download websites. Please Help!

The driver is nati've to Windows. Creative does not write the MTP driver. I would suggest re-install WMP2 or contact Microsoft for advice if it is corrupt. As for software to use the player on a 64 Win 7system? there is nothing for the Vision M. You may want to read this page? http://support.creative.com/KB/showarticle.aspx?sid=605&h=3

  • ZEN VISION M SERIES MEDIA EXPLORER NOT WORKING ON WINDOWS 7

Recently installed the much hyped windows 7. Installed my zen vision m. Everything is ok except media explorer is not working from the shortcut on the desktop or i can't find the exe in the creative folder file to get it started. All i get is "this filse does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.please install a program or,if one is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel "
i can access the music & picture files as a hard drive folder.
    Anyone any ideas?

My experience has been that the original software that came on CD with the Visionn M is not compatible with my new 64 bit Windows 7 OS but that the updated version availabloe for free download on the support site does work just fine. My remaining frustration (which appears unresolvable) is that unlike the original, the "new and improved" media explorer from the website?will only rip to WMA format and does not offer the MP3 option that was the core of the original program. I think this is incomprehensible and reprehensible for a device that is sold as an "MP3 player". I did not intentionally?buy an expensi've "WMA player" but thanks to Creative, I guess I ended up with one. I have bought literally a dozen Creative media players over the years for friends and family but this makes me so angry that I will never buy another.

  • How do you Interface Zen Vision M with Creative Media Source 5 in WIndows XP?

I am having problems getting the Zen Vision M player to interface with Creative Media Source5 in Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
It does show up in the Device Manager System as a Portable Device and shows it working correctly.
When I try to download one of the updates for Media Source 5 it will not install "player not found message"
So now how do I get it to work with the Creative Media Source? It does not show this player at all.
Just a note: I did get this player to work in Vista 64 and interface with Creative Media Source 5 but could not download Creative Explorer with Vista 64.

Well thanks again!!! I must have downloaded the wrong file think it was the 38 version. I downloaded the 36 version and it works great!!!
I think everything is working on both computers. Im glad because I bought another Vision M from someone on HardForum.
One of the two might work for a Christmas present for my wife. Now we can get rid of our old Rio Players.
