Zen Vision M track t

I have the latest firmware installed on my 30 Gb Vision M player. Even though I have verified that all my music has the proper track ID tags on my PC, they do not show up properly on the M. They are usually displayed as Track 0 on the Zen, but for some albums they are correct. It doesn't matter what I've used to do the transfer. Has anybody figured out a fix for this? Is Creative going to fix this? Do es all other tag info have to be filled in in order to get the track tag across correctly?By the way, Album Art will show up consistently if you don't have the Media Player Runtime installed.

It may be a bug in the Zen Media Explorer's audio CD ripping wizard.
Try to use Creative MediaSource to rip.

  • Copied to Zen Vision But Tracks Not Found

    Hi I have a Zen Vision M old version .62.02e , XP home edition 5. SP3
I copy music to the device using Windows Media Player
but it cannot be found. Not within all tracks, albums nor artists. Where did it go?
Other gripes. How can I see both the album title and artist on the same display? Why just one or the other?
Where is the link for new firmware for my ageing Vision M?
I have lost the CD for the Organiser and Media software. Where can I get it from? Do I have to pay for it again, if so why? Lost tracks happened using Creative software too.
The volume is not load enough - what to do?
Why do I have to scroll from A to L for ages to get there, surely there is a way to get there directly, it is 200 already.
Its almost enough to make you toss it in the bin, The Zen that is ...

Sidenote everyone: My post may have been somewhat misleading. The computer recognizes the Zen, as in, if I go under "My Computer" and whatnot it shows it as being there, what's not recognizing it is Creative MediaSource. The computer knows its there and a window asking what I want to do pops up every time I plug the Zen in, but when I run MediaSource, which is the specific version for this type of operating system, it won't recognize it and hence I can't transfer files. Sorry for the confusion.

  • Zen Vision:M Track Tag info?

I have a 30GB Zen Vision:M, and I'm having a problem that is apparently related to the tag information on some of my music. I've edited the tags on my computer (Win XP), and they all seem correct there, but on my Zen, they've got odd artist names, like "ACDC/ACDC" instead of "ACDC" which is what I see when I try to edit them. It's like they got set wrong at some point in the past, but in spite of my corrections (and recopying the music to my player), they're still showing up wrong.
    Any suggestions/ideas?
    Thanks!
    Kaiti

If you have already finished doing them thru Windows Explorer go to WMP in the options have it set to when you delete music from the library that it DOES NOT delete it from the computer. Then delete the ones you have corrected. Then have WMP scan to find music files & they will now be correct there as well.

  • Zen Vision:M track mem

I seem to remember that all the other Creative mp3 players I had would remember whatever song was playing when I turned it off no matter how long I left it off for, but the Vision:M (30 GB) doesn't. Whether or not the song is paused when I turn it off, it will only remember what song it was for about 4 hours or so of being off. After that, it will stop playback (i.e. go back to the beginning of the song) and switch to a different song for some reason. I don't know if this happens in the Normal playback mode because I always use shuffle, but it's quite annoying. Is it supposed to be like this, or is something wrong with it's Like I said, I've never encountered this with my other mp3 players, so it seems weird that this one is like this.

  • Zen Vision M Track Skipping

okay, i got my ZVM, 2 days ago, and yesterday i put music on it, i thought.. great!! But then when i was listening to some of my songs, some songs just skipped foward to the next song, with me just lying down on my bed listening to it, ie. not moving..
I have tryed The clean dri've thing in the reboot menu, i have updated the firmware, and i have took all the music off, and then on again, TWICE! my sister said that it sometimes happens to her Zen Touch 20GB when she puts masses and masses of muic on at one time, so i tryed only putting a few songs on it, but still it happened, does anybody have any suggestions, it might be my computer, but if it is not, i can still get it replaced, is there anything i can do to fix it's
    PLZ help...
    Thanks

But it could be an incompatible MP3 too, does it happen to the same song all the time or are they random songs (if random it prob is your HD )
It happens to the same song every time at the same place each time... which supports my hteory that it is my computer.
"if all those clicks are all under 5 seconds thats bad. how long does it take for the hdd to stop spinning?"
Well it take about 6 seconds for my hard dri've to stop spinning... the small clicks are quite rapid, and on the last loud click, thets when the hard dri've stops spinning...
    Any suggestions?

  • Zen Vision:M track list

I looked through other threads and didn't see an exact answer to this.
My Vision:M wants to list all songs alphabetically. Even when I play an individual album without using playlists, the songs on each album are listed alphabetically.
Can this be changed? I'm going to have to return it if it can't.
    Thanks - Eric

Even when I go to the album and hit the play button it still doesn't play them in order. The strange thing is in the upper left corner while it plays it has numbers like /2, 2/2, etc. so it knows the order the songs came on the album it just doesn't want to play them that way for some reason. So is there a way to tell it to play them in order by those numbers?
Also, does anyone else find the touch pad maddening to use? I think I just accidentally bought some music I didn't want because I was having trouble controlling the touch pad.

  • Zen Vision M Not listing all tracks in alb

I bought a Zen Vision M (30gb) Sunday. I've loaded about 60 CDs so far - about 24 gb left. I discovered today that on a few albums not all tracks are listed. The tracks are in the player, because I can find them and play them via playlists. But they don't show up under album or artist. Is this a bug? If not, how do I get the album to list the complete contents?I'm new to MP3 players. Thanks,?Mark B.

  • Creative Zen Vision M:30Gb freeze problem skipping between tracks

    Hi guys,
I bought my Zen Vision M:30GB 2 years ago. It was a regenerated model by Creative.
I'm fully satisfied of this product, i think the best of his category, but It has this problem since two years...Sometimes when i skip between mp3s (especially in random mode) it freezes and remains on the screen of current mp3, blocked...even I try to touch all buttons it doesn't unblock and i have to reset with a clip in the reset hole.
I've noticed that this problem comes especially when i use random mode of entire library (about 4000 songs) or however with a long playlist...it doesn't happen when i listen a single album (about 20 mp3s in playlist)
    Sincerely i'm a little bored ...
I tried to do some clean and format up by the system menu, but the problem persists...
I've also thinked the problem could be because there are in library mp3 with variant bitrate...or a physical problem (I hope not)
    What do you think of?
    Thanks for help!

Hi, I stopped using this MP3 for about 2 or so years because I bought a new one. I decided to start using it again and downloaded all the required software but as soon as I unplugged the MP3 from the power outlet, the player died. I can't get it to start up without plugging it into a power outlet. I think it has rechargable battery? Why didn't it recharge itself?
My second enquiry is about the capacity of the player. When my player was empty, I went into "Information" and it said Total Space: 28GB and Free Space: 2GB. Why is free space only 2GB? Shouldn't it be 28 as well?
    Thanks in advance!
The battery will only last about 3yrs regardless of use.You will need to change it. Did you scroll down to see the album, picture, track counts? Did you partition part of the dri've for removable storage. • Odd Zen vision m question: double track list

i recently got a zen vision m and love it. i've had this odd issue crop up twice now and i'm not sure how to take care of it.
all of the files in my music albums are being listed twice, but there is only one copy of the media on the player. i'm not sure if this is being caused by using the windows media player sync option or what.
    any advice?
    thanks ahead of time

  • MediaSource Recognition Problem? (Zen Vision:

OK, I had a Zen 20GB for the last year and I loved it to bits. Worked great, but just before Christmas it fell in some water and died . I replaced it with a 60GB Zen Vision:M and didn't mind too much because I had less than GB of space left and would have had to replace it soon anyway.
Now onto my question. With my Zen 20GB when I used Media Source (I think v.3 came with it but I can't remember) it would let me search my Zen and edit tracks in it. The search function was IMO fantastic, especially with a music collection as large as mine. Now when I connect my ZV:M it connects fine. I've transferred plenty of music without bother using Windows Media Player.
However, when I open Media Source (both v.3 and v.5) it doesn't give me any option to explore my Zen like it did when I had my 20GB. I can still explore it using the Zen Explorer, but since this doesn't let you edit the properties for several tracks at a time I find it very frustrating.
Also, if I chose to "Transfer Music", "Transfer Playlist" or "Sync Music" in Media Source I get the message "No Creative mp3 player is detected. Please connect your mp3 player and try again."
Now, I know it's connected since I can explore the contents fine in Zen Explorer and I can transfer to it using WMP. Is there something I haven't installed correctly that is stopping Media Source from recognising my player? It just seems strange since it seems to be the only application not working for it.
Thanks for the help (and sorry if this has been covered else where. I searched but couldn't find anything).

You must also download and install the corresponding MediaSource plugin for your MP3 player in order for MediaSource 5 to detect your MP3 player.

  • Creative Zen Vision: M 30 gb - DRM information corrupt or missing.....???????

So I just started having this problem yesterday but it seem I'm the only ever to have it. I've scanned every page I can and can't find a solution. Yesterday I started playing my music then all of the sudden it stopped. Granted I was having problems before even though I just got this unit a month..........! I sent an email and still haven't received a response.
Here's the problem. While listening to my music yesterday I encountered a message saying - Playback Error. This error persisted after changing the track. After going home and reformatting, reinstalling firmware, downgrading -> upgrading firmware, reformatting over and over and over again, disk clean up, system restore, reboots, default restore, reformatting, again reformatting, deleting every piece of information I could delete...... you might be getting the picture so far.... After doing all of this I was unable to download tracks again onto my MP3 player. The only ones I can upload are unprotected content. I got thinking maybe there is a problem in my DRM file..... Where is my DRM file on the MP3 player and how do I delete it's You can't. At least not what I found. So again I tried everything over and over again and nothing works. I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. I have a 30gb Creative Zen Vision: M player, Windows XP/Vista 64, Napster ToGo and now I can't use my MP3. This unit is a month old and I cannot use it. PLEASE HELP ME. This is very long winded but I'm hoping this will help a little. Thanks in advance, I'm going insane without my music.

Well I have never used a service like that. That's all I can think of off hand.

  • There's video problems with my Zen Vision:M already (M video cable related) Please help

    Some background...
System:Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
Player: Brand new Creative Zen Vision: M with no firmware updates.
My Zen Vision:M has a problem (besides the scratch and fingerprint attracting top surface): It won't play videos on a TV screen when the M Video Cable (also from Creative) is linked to it anymore. It's only been a few hours...
I had the cable already, and got the player today. I let the player charge to /4th of a battery while I was setting up all the software. I ran the software programs just to take a peek, only changing the name of my player (to my name). I used Winamp 5.3 to put a music track on the player to test it. After that, I hooked it up to the VCR in my room through the white and yellow A/V plugs in front. It worked just fine. It to the tv a little large, but I was okay with it.
Later on today, the new AC charger I ordered came in the mail (Player came through UPS, charger through USPS). I looked at my old charger (Creative Zen Touch) and realized it would work with the plug-in part of the sync unit at the bottom. I tested it for a minute and it did. I still took it out and tried the new one. This is where, I think, something happened. I had to press the sides to get the thing in, and it was hard to come out. Everything still fit just right, and nothing seemed to be wrong. I used my old charger as I added more of my music library. Now it was on to videos. I had to convert the first two test vids (they were .wmv), but they played on my player fine. I put a bigger .wmv file onto the player to see if it had to convert it, and it did. It still played on the player. When I go to hook it to the TV with the A/V cord again, there was nothing but a black screen with the occasional diagonal scan line. The sound is still there.
Besides quirks with the navigational system, the player is still great for music and video. Still, I needed no video capability, and one of the things that made the ZVM a buy for me was watching my vids on the big screen. I'd return this for a second try, but I want to know if this is a recurring issue with you guys and if there's something I can do to fix it before a return. Did I mess with a setting? Should I get new firmware? Did I do wrong using my old charger? If any of you have an answer, or need more info on my situation, please let me know.
And BTW, does anyone know of some better software for organizing files on the ZVM? I used Winamp for my Zen Touch and the music on my ZVM, but videos are another ballpark. I can't transfer a video from one folder to another folder (assuming both folders are on the ZVM). Not to mention the music I transferred using Winamp isn't even showing up in Windows Media Player. I think I need a different program altogether.

I have got a new Creative Zen Vision W and getting the same problem....when i attach to the tv then i am able to hear the audio content and the video does not show. Are we missing something ? or is it a problem with the player. Also the software provided with the Zen converts small .vob files to .wmv when ever the size is large it gives an error 'conversion?unsucessful'.Any body facing similar problems please help.

  • Zen Vision M & Creative Organise

I updated my Zen Touch to a Zen Vision M last summer and successfully transferred my tracks (sort of) but I am having problems with the new, updated Creative Organiser?5.
In the previous version I was using, I could manipulate the information on my Zen DIRECTLY, "seeing" the device and the information in exactly the same way as if it were in my computer library and I was able to alter a?WHOLE?album at a time of information eg I had a double album that automatically ripped with the artist's name spelt slightly differently for each disc, thereby creating a whole?DIFFERENT album!?to put it right, I would highlight all of the tracks of one album and change one entry of the artist's name and they would all change.
In the current version of organiser, I can change the Album Artist, but only one track at a time and as I have made each audio book appear as ONE ALBUM (by laboriously renumbering all the tracks sequentially from disc to disc?as I ripped them - no laughing matter I can assure you!) to change 400 tracks individually isn't something I want to contemplate!
Now with this version, although I can SEE the information on the Zen, I am not able to change anything!
Indeed, Creative Organiser 5 appears to have?many less columns than previous versions and I have noticed some flaws in some of my old recordings of?audiobooks and would like to correct it, but cant as the columns are no longer there to change!? EG Album Artist, Contributing Artist (where I would put for example J K Rowling, Stephen Fry) But now, they only have Album Artist!
    Also, GENRE!!!!!!
!!! What has happened to this very useful function?!? Again, in the old version of?Organiser I would highlight and change a whole album to show the same entry, but not only can I NOT seem to VIEW by genre, I cannot see how to alter those that I created in the old version.
I have looked in the Creative Help, but it keeps talking about editing items in the Music Library, NOT on the MP3 player.
If it is not possible to re-create the old functions in the new Creative Organiser 5, does anyone have any suggestions of other Creative-compatible programs I could try? Some time ago I was recommended to MediaMonkey, which I quite liked and indeed, in fact previously I used Microsoft Media Player, which I PREFERRED to Creative Organiser, but neither of those programmes recognise the Zen Vision M!
Any advice, help and general wisdom would be appreciated!!

Well if you are running the same version, the only other possibilities I could think off that might be causing problems are :A)? Bad registry EntriesB) Possibly Bad DLL'sMediasource uses MicrosoftJet/MDAC libraries for maintaining the backend database. Its possible that one of the microsoft MDAC files is bad, corrupt, or the wrong version causing the playlist database inside mediasource to misbehave. You can go to Microsoft site and try downloading and running their MDAC checker utility.http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/i...splayLang%3den?(if the above link doesn't work, go to http://download.microsoft.com and search for "mdac checker" and it will show up on the list)?Download and run the checker, and see if it finds any problems with your MDAC installation. My system is running Windows XP SP2 and has MDAC 2.8 SP installed.
The file revisions for most all the MDAC files show as 2.8.7 on my system. At this point am just guessing, but the above is something to try to see if we can figure out what is different between your system and mine.

  • Zen Vision:M 60GB firmware: NEEDS 'Disc Number' tag supp

The Creative Zen Vision:M 60GB firmware (.20.02e) does not recognise the 'Disc Number' part of ID3 tags.
This is VERY annoying as albums made up of more than one CD do not play in the correct order (they play in order of 'Track Number', e.g. ",,,,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,4,4,5,5" etc). I do not want to go through my collection separating these large albums into a messy bunch of single discs.
This seems like a simple firmware issue: please update it!

    jjwood,
Although I can understand the situation, please refrain from using bad language which is uncalled for. In any case, if the player is still having problem despite attempt at rescue mode, then contact Customer Support for service. If the store where you purchase the product allow exchanges, it maybe faster to be done through them.

  • Zen Vision M 30GB & Playdock Z

After my IRIVER 6GB H0 died during a firmware upgrade I decided to look to the market for its replacement. I wanted more memory & to buy from a company that (in my view) put effort & resourses into after sales as well as new sales. Didn't fancy IPOD - due to (what I consider to be) restricti've practices. So after a bit of research creative seemed a natural contender - in fact the only one that seemed to offer IPOD-like-specificaction for the price. I've had the Zen Vision M for about a month - all I have to say is that it is brilliant:
    Reliable<
Fantastic sound - for a condensed music format<
I prefer the chunky case - makes it more durable & harder to loose<
Works brilliantly in the car stereos - thanks to the much higher output volume than the IRIVER<
Mine is black. I've had no trouble with scratching - although i did buy the Creative leather case on the day I got the player & I never leave it 'naked' in my pocket<
I've so far put about 00 albums, 500 photos & 50 videos (from my digital camera) on it & am only scratching the surface of the memory capacity<
I find the?controls much better than the IPOD wheel (one of my kids has got a Nano - which is very good also)<
The menu is completely intuiti've. I quite like picking a single artist or gendre that I might have several albums from, pressing play & letting play for a few hours!<
Dead easy to upgrade the (brilliant) software & firmware?- & I'm no techy. <
I thought that was as good as it was going to get. I was wrong. I managed to track down the Playdock Z500. This was a bit of a challenge - as they seemed to sold out everywhere on the internet (in the UK) & no shops seemed to have them. Near to London's Oxford Street is Tottenham Court Road, this seems to?be countries best place for electonic gizmos. There are about 30+ shops in a short stretch of road. Having been in and out of?about 0 of these, I struck?Lucky. After a quick 'barter' to agree the price?- as is the practice in the road, I left the shop a proud owner of the play dock.
What first struck me was the weight. This is not?a flimsy peice of kit. When I got it home & put it all together the results were fantastic. A few key points:
The speakers have a built in subwoofer round the back & a base knob that you can adjust. At a deafening full volume, apart from potentially upsetting the neighbours, the house was filled with sound there was no distortion. For a small system this certainly?'punches well above its weight'.<
The Z500 has a video out, so I can see the pictures, videos & even the menu?from the Vision M on the television when the supplied cable is used. Picture quality much?better than I expected & very satisfactory.<
The remote control that comes with?the speaker is just excellent. Funily enough it is exactly the same moulding as the one used on my?fathers Bose system - & that cost ?900 ($500+?). Not only do you get on/off & volume - but enough buttons to navigate the whole Vison M menu - on your TV if the AV lead is plugged in!<
The?Playdock has a volume knob on the top - plus a 'wide sound' button, which really transforms the sound.<
The speakers on my PC are not vey good - so guess what? That's right, they ended up in the bin & the Playdoc doubles up for this as well!<
Not to mention, this is a very attracti've piece of 'furniture' too! It was on this basis that my wife forgave me buying both items without consultation!<
I've never written a 'review' about anything before. But I was so impressed that I felt I wanted to (I would have been just as quick to complain if I was unhappy).
I hope that someone else finds this posting helpful & find the devices as good as I have.
    Pete /02/2007

I own the Zen Vision M 60gb & have just bought the Playdock Z500 which I agree sounds amazing .My question is regarding the remote control . I've managed to do most things on it but I was wondering if you knew how to jump to the A - Z listing down the right side of the screen in artist & track search menus ?On the player you normally would press the edge of the touchpad but on the remote I cant find a way of using the A - Z shortcuts & have to scroll down for what seems like ages!Hope somebody can offer some help? Thanks,?John?
