Zen wav fast forward problem!

hi everybody.. i just bought creative zen wav 2gb. but i have a big problem about that player. i generally listen long time songs such as 90 min. one set. sometimes i want to fast forward that kind of song. but when i want to jump from beginning of song to 85th minute. it takes too long time? because time jump of the player is nearly 3 second at once. that means if i want to jump to 85 minute from beginning of song, it takes nearly 6 minutes to be at that time point:angry:... i want to know how i can i solve that problem? or creative customer support service is wawre of that problem? because i think that is very big fault for a firmware of that product.

It is ok Richard and KokChoy, this place is just for exchange ideas.
I think that this issue is important, it has been mentioned in other messages :

  • Fast forward problems with Zen Touch (1.01.03 AND PlayForSu

    Device: Zen Touch
    Firmware: .0.03
Some files cause fast forward problems. Suppose I fast forward to the end of the song. Then I reach the - 00:00.00 marker. HOWEVER, the song goes on and on. It doesn't stop, even if it should (these files aren't corrupt, they work properly on my pc). For e.g. this file causes problems: http://www.hollywoodsaloon.com/podcast/THS-ep9.mp3 and this file http://meandawg.com/audio/MDTop5_0002.mp3.
Anyone know if this is a common problem, and can I fix this by installing the playforsure firmware?Message Edited by Nicos on 07-27-200703:42 AM

I just upgraded the firmware and it didn't help =(
Is there anyone who has the same problem? Maybe someone of you can download these files and try to ffwd to the end with a Zen Touch.Message Edited by Nicos on 07-27-200707:44 AM

  • Fast forward problem in iTunes 6.0.1.3

    Hello
I am using iTunes 6.0.1.3 on Windows XP Pro.
The situation is this. I have a song that is 7:30 long. When I play it normally it works just fine. However when I use the fast forward and advance to time mark 6:45 and start playing it is actually playing the part of the song that is at 6:00 (within a second or two), I let it go ahead and play and when it gets to 7:30 it just stops and jumps to the top of the menu tree (both it iTunes and on my ipod (40 gig 4g).
I have tried the fast forwarding in Music Match and Adobe Audition and it works just fine. I have tested the mp3 file with all the editors and players I have and it works great.
It appears there is some type of synch issue with fast forward and I don't really know where to start.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank You.

Well, I've noticed this problem at work (while using my work laptop on a network with other users -- some who have iTunes 5 and some iTunes 6) and at home (using a completely different laptop).
At first I thought it was a configuration problem on my work laptop, but now I'm thinking it has something to do with iTunes itself.
The weird thing is: People at work who use iTunes 5.0 can see the shared drives without a problem. Those with 6.0 cannot. So this problem is replicating itself in two completely different environments -- leading me to believe it's something in iTunes 6. Hmm....

  • Fast forward problems with 2nd room DVR

I am enjoying my new FIOS set up very much.  I have the Home Media option on my HD DVR and STBs.  I'm having trouble with the "Fast Forward" when watching shows in my "non" DVR room.  When the show is longer than about 45 minutes... after scanning thru commericals the program jumps back to the beginning.  This is very frustrating and in some ways defeats the purpose of the multi-room option.  I'm considering canceling this option but wanted to check first to see if there's an easy fix.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey nascar,
All three problems are reported issues and due up to be fixed.  The first of your problems isnt a problem with the site, as it is a problem with IMG.  The DVR content isnt being flagged properly after finishing it.  Number two, you already know what is causing it.  I don't know too much about this problem as ad insertion is handled on the network level.  I do know they are reporting to be working on a fix at this time.  Only a few areas at this time experience this problem as verizon does not locally insert ads in every market.  Number three has been around for a while. We have attempted to fix it but the "fix" actually broke more things than it fixed so we had to pull it off the boxes.  This one is still a work in progress to be fixed.

  • Fast forwarding problems with 1.9 update

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems fast forwarding a show since the update. When I am fast forwarding it often skips the commerical break and the show up to the next break on anything more than 2x forward. It does this more while viewing DVR programs from the other DVR. It is also stopping the show with 10 seconds left of recording.

If rebooting the box (done by unplugging power cord for 30 seconds then plugging back in) does not fix your problem, please send a private message. This way we can look into this for you.

  • Zen Wav: Faster scroll

Is it possible to scroll faster? I'm tired of waiting so long to get from one end of my playlist to the other. I miss the scrolling acceleration I had on my Zen Microphoto. Is there anyway I can go faster? Or do I have to hope that Creative puts it in their next firmware update?

Re: Zen Wav Not Connecting to Computer - 9!a Try plugging it into a different USB port and/or try another USB device in the port to ensure the port itself is working. If you have one, try a different USB cable to eliminate the possibility of a bad cable. Use the shortest cable you have available since that helps minimize any influence of interference of signal strength drop. Check "Device Manager" and see if an entry exists for the player (it may know something is there but have it inacti've since it isn't behaving as expected). If there is an entry you could try deleting it and then reset (and turn on) the player again to see if it is detected. There is also the standard drill of stripping all the drivers and reinstalling them. If you get it working again it might also be worth checking for any Vista-related updates (yeah, I know, I'm being an optimist on that one).

  • Fast forward problem

I dont know what i hit, but i cant fast forward or rewind by holding the next or back button. I used to be able to fast forward to any part of the song, but now it just skips to the the next song. I tried to reset the settings and still doesnt work.

The only way I thought you could FF or RW fast was to click the center button until the diamond appeared showing where you were on the track.
Or if I am wrong your click wheel may be on it's way south.

  • Fast forward problems

I have a 20GB ipod that was working great until the I installed the latest ipod update (06-01-10). Since then, my ipod fast forwards through all my previously loaded songs. What gives? Anyone have an idea on why that is?
    Thanks
    LW

Try resetting your iPod, and if not, attempt a restore.

  • Nomad Zen Xtra Fast Forward Is

I was experiencing the slow track skip issue so I just upgraded my firmware to version .03.02. Now when I hit the skip button I get unpredictable results, sometimes it will skip forward, sometimes it will skip back, and sometimes it will volume down. All from hitting the ffwd button.
    Any ideas?
Any way to roll back the firmware?

Sounds like you may have to same problem as this user (zen touch)

If thats a case like SSR says, you'll probably need a new player.

  • IPod touch suddenly fast forwarding through songs and videos + voice control screen cutting in

    Hi
In the last couple of days, it has started fast forwarding through songs and videos randomly. The voice control screen is also cutting in randomly. It happens as soon as I turn it on and play my first track or video. The only other problem I have noticed is that the volume controls on my headphones are no longer working. The headphones would be less than 6 months old and are genuine Apple ones. I don't think the problem is related because if I unplug them the fast forwarding still happens. I've tried powering it off and then re-starting it and I have been keeping the software up to date on it so I'm not sure what else I can try.
In saying that, this morning it seems to be working properly but I'm worried the problem will return. I still can't adjust the volume via the headphones though.
If anyone has any ideas about what I can do to resolve the fast forwarding problem, I would appreciate the feedback. The headphones I don't really care about because I can replace them.
I've had my iPod touch for a few years and use it pretty heavily so part of me is wondering whether it is just getting to the end of its life. I'm not sure what sort of lifespan I can expect from my iPod touch.
    Thanks

    Try:
    - Try a regular pair of headphones
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I'm curious... are you using a Firewire audio interface ? I noticed that when I'm using the internal audio output of my Power Mac, the problem is gone. When using my firewire Saffire Pro 10, the fast forward problem is there. I also noticed that I get little glitches in iTunes at the same time.

  • Zen Micro firmare upgrade, now can't fast forward or auto resum

I upgraded my Zen Micro to version 2.2.02e from ..something so I could use ZenCast. Now I cannot fast forward tracks, the "time remaining" counter remains at zero always and it will no longer auto resume. Also "Seek to" doesn't work. Did anyone else have this problem? Is this firmware broken?
    Cheers!

    jrbg5,
I forgot to mention... when I tried?my ZEN?on my son's PC and Laptop, both of which work fine with his ZEN, that both of those machines are running Win2k ... not XP SP2.
The only XP PC in my house is my tower running XP MCE2005 SP2.BTW...thinking back, the USB cable may have stopped charging around the time I installed my Creative Web Cam. It got me thinking about driver conflicts, but since my ZEN doesn't work on the other PC's ... I'm lost as what to do next.

  • Problem with fast forward of trackball in media player of 8330

I'm a fairly new BB owner of a Sprint 8330 Curve.  I've checked the newbies site on Crackberry and checked here also.  Can anyone help with this problem:
I've downloaded some MP3 audiobooks from my local public library.  They play fine, but the problem is that it always starts at the beginning every time.  The book is in multiple parts, each of which is 60 minutes long, each of which is treated as a single song.  I can see the reverse, pause, and fast forward buttons but I can't get the trackball to work with them.
When I scroll the trackball to the right to fast forward, it scrolls to the next part of the book, not within the same part (song).  When I scroll the trackball left, it goes back to the last song.  When I scroll it up or down, the whole playlist shows up on the screen and I can scroll through those.
I found one post that talked about how to fast forward video, but it showed a different screen that mine.
I just can't get the trackball to position itself on the progress bar or on the controls.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

I've got the same problem with my BlackBerry 8330.  I have v4.5.0.169 (Platform 3.4.0.51). Once i start an audio file, I am unable to select the scroll bar above the play so that I can fast forward through the song, book, etc.
