Zen X-Fi Style has problems with large numbers of tracks
Hi.
I use my Zen X-Fi Style to listen to audio books. But if the audio book has more than 250 or so tracks(256 maybe) the player are unable to list the tracks in correct order. The? tracks are listed in correct order in Creative Centrale but in the player they are listed in the following order:? 256, , 257, 2, 258, 3. etc.
Anyone experienced the same?

sadly this is happening every start-up.
I already tried the following:
copy files to the player by explorer
copy files with Windows Media Player (Win7) --> synchronizing
--> But nothing changes yet.
It went faster when only 8 files were on the player.
Also:
Everytime the player was connected to my laptop, it starts "reorganizing" afterwards, although no file transfer has taken place. Reorganizing takes up to 2 to 4 min, too.
currently I tried out firmware versions .00.04 and .00.05e. The behaviour stays exactly the same.

Problems with large scanned images
I have been giving Aperture another try since 1.1 came out, and I am still having problems with large tiff files derived from scanned 4x5 negatives. The files are 500mb or more, 16 bit RGB, with ProPhoto RGB or Ektaspace PS5 profiles, directly out of the scanner.
Aperture imports the files correctly, and shows their thumbnails. When I select a thumbnail "Loading" is displayed briefly, and the the dreaded "Unsupported Image Format" is displayed. Sometimes "Loading" goes on for a while, and a geometric pattern (looking like a rendering of random memory) is displayed. Restarting Aperture doesn't help.
Lower resolution (250mb, 16bit) files are handled properly. The scans are from an Epson 4870 scanner. I have tried pulling the scans into Photoshop and resaving with various tiff options, and as PSD with no improvement. I have the same problem with corrected/modified psd files coming out of Photoshop CS2.
I am running on a Power Mac G5 dual 2ghz with 8gb of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT DDL (250mb) video card, with all the latest OS and software updates.
Has anyone else had similar problems? More importantly, is anyone else able to work with 500mb files of any kind? Is it my system, or is it the software? I sent feedback to Apple as well.
dual g5 2ghz Mac OS X (10.4.6)I have a few (well actually about 100) scans on my system of >500Mb. I tried loading a few and am getting an inconsistent pattern of errors that correlates with what you are reporting.
I imported 4 files and three were troubled, the fouth was OK. I imported another four files and the first one was OK and the three others had your reported error, also the previously good file from the first import was now showing the same 'unsupported' image' message.
I would venture to say that if you shoot primarily 4x5 and work with scans of this size that Aperture is not the program for you--right now. I shoot 35mm and have a few images that I have scanned at 8000dpi on my Imacon 848 but most of my files are in the more reasonable 250Mb range (35mm @ 5000dpi).
I will probably downsample my 8000dpi scans to 5000dpi and not worry to much about it. In a world where people believe that 16 megapixels is hi-res you are obviously on the extreme side.(Good for you!) You should definately file a bug report but I wouldn't expect much help anytime soon for your super-sized scans. -
i have got new hardrive to windows 8.1....when i open my PC so i get message on lower right corner - very short time - your photoshop has problem with compalitet....i have not used it yet or put brushes and so on back....LR is working fine...i can open photoshop without problem..and AE...what shall i do?...

A. Backup before doing anything advanced is recommended but not widely used.
B. Upgrade on vanilla plain (and updated) operatiing system goes flawlessly. Upgrade on "real" computer may depend on "status" of operating system and applications installed. You may not be the last experiencing troubles.
C. Software vendors expect that users has nearly unlimited disk size, large memory and latest processor.
D. It is on you to find anything positive to compensate annoyances. Mental balance is in your hands ;-) -
Lightroom doesn't seem to like large databases.
I am playing catch-up using Lightroom to enter keywords to all my past photos. I have about 150K photos spread over four drives.
Even placing a separate database on each hard drive is causing problems.
The program crashes when importing large numbers of photos from several folders. (I do not ask it to render previews.) If I relaunch the program, and try the import again, Lightroom adds about 500 more photos and then crashes, or freezes again.
I may have to go back and import them one folder at a time, or use iView instead.
This is a deal-breaker for me.
I also note that it takes several minutes after opening a databese before the HD activity light stops flashing.
I am using XP on a dual core machine with, 3Gigs of RAM

True, but given the number of posts where users have had similar problems ingesting images into LR--where LR runs without crashes and further trouble once the images are in--the probative evidence points to some LR problem ingesting large numbers.
I may also be that users are attempting to use LR for editing during the ingestion of large numbers--I found that I simply could not do that without a crash occuring. When I limited it to 2k at a time--leaving my hands off the keyboard-- while the import occured, everything went without a hitch.
However, as previously pointed out, it shouldn't require that--none of my other DAMs using SQLite do that, and I can multitask while they are ingesting.
But, you are right--multiple single causes--and complexly interrated multiple causes--could account for it on a given configuration. -

Then we brought up the system. Before that , we do not have this transport issue.

Firefox has problems with images.
In sites like deviantART or ImageShack with full-view option, images that are not in full size/thumbnails get slightly pixelated e.g. http://img251.imageshack.us/f/screenshot2tq.jpg/
Long images get completely messed up if full-viewed e.g. http://img689.imageshack.us/f/screenshot5z.jpg/ (though if the file is only big, it loads just fine)
Also, thumbnails in some sites get messed up e.g. http://img201.imageshack.us/f/screenshotyr.jpg/
And in general, Firefox has more 'glitches' like not allowing to add more search engines. It wasn't like that before and I can only assume that it got messed up somewhere with updates, but I'm not really sure.
I've tried cleaning out cache, re-installing Firefox (multiple times) and even downloaded Firefox 4 beta, but the problem remains.
I use Ubuntu.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Out.println() problems with large amount of data in jsp page
I have this kind of code in my jsp page:

out.println(myText); // size of myText is about 300 kbThe problem is that I manage to print the whole text only sometimes. Very often happens such that the receiving page gets only the first 40 kb and then the printing stops.
I have made such tests that I split the myText to smaller parts and out.print() them one by one:

}This produces the same kind of result. Sometimes all parts are printed but mostly only the first parts.
I have tried to increase the buffer size but neither that makes the printing reliable. Also I have tried with autoFlush="false" so that I flush before the buffer size gets overflowed; again same result, sometimes works sometimes don't.
Originally I use such a system where Visual Basic in Excel calls a jsp page. However, I don't think that this matters since the same problems occur if I use a browser.
If anyone knows something about problems with large jsp pages, I would appreciate that.Well, there are many ways you could do this, but it depends on what you are looking for.

Pdf reader X has problems with small pdf and printer with post script driver
Hi friends.
I have installed new Reader X and then i saw that, when i print a very small pdf with about 50 kb and i print it on a Laserjet 4000 printer the printer has problem with the amount of data that reader 10 produces.
When i install a Postscript driver for the printer my computer makes up to 3.5MB printer data from a 50kb pdf.
When i install a PCL driver for the printer my computer makes only 350kb from the same 50kb pdf file!!!!
When i install Reader 9.3 the 50kb file becomes also only 350kb on the printer with post script driver, and i can print without problems also.
my printer has 8 MB Ram and that should be enough for 3.5MB printer data.
But when i print the pdf with 1 side only, the printer created a side who is only filled with 50% of the text, then there comes out a second page with the message.....not enough memory in the printer.
i can not change the postscript driver to a pcl driver cause our ERP System can not handle printer with PCL drivers.
Can someone help me please.........are there settings in Reader X who can solve my problem ???

yes I have big problems as soon as I open the video app i get a total black screen, even the upper bar with the time disappears. I already tried to:
1. closing the app and reopen it
2. restart the iPad
3. restore the iPad via iTunes
4. Begging the app to work again. -
with the new IOS 7 mi iPhone has problems with the screen, I go out once stripes, and Apple told me it is the software. help when there is a new update?????

My apple macbook pro retina 15'' ME664 has problems with sound.Either there will be no sound at all or at startup there il be very scary and broken sound and afterwards still there would be no sound.Secondly , it does not start in one shot.atleast 2 to 3 times pressing power button for longer time starts it up and afterwards still there will be no sound. This morning i was not able to hear sound on my recently purchased macbookpro retina 15 inch model.My attempts to resolve this issue by going to system preferences and removing the mute box that was ticked as active. i had downloaded much earlier a mac version of logmein app and noticed that in the sound box noted above that there was a bar indicating that the default was now to logmein. i had never used this app. Why it started today, i have no idea. I moved the logmein application to trash and deleted the app , however it did not remove the default option which still blocked the sound.
Going to a macforum gave the tha anser that to remove the logmein app, it first had to be reinstalled a nd them use the uninstaller option ftrom the dropdown menu. for now that has resolved the failure to allow sound oputput. -

I recently just downloaded the 'Waze' app as a backup for my Garmin. I've read a few reviews that seem to rant and rave about how good the GPS app is. It is community driven and maps are constantly being updated by users. Plus it has a few other fun stuff in it (something similar to Gasbuddy where you can owe prices on the map). But like the person above me said, there is lots of useful free GPS apps in the App Store.
Oh and I may be wrong but I remember reading an article about Google being slower about updating its maps system--ie no turn by turn voice, which many people have had complaints about.

I also have detected the problem. It is not any physical malfunction according to me. It occures with my phone when I unplug it and plug it again. Sometimes is useful to change the USB port and afterwards to move back to the previous one. Try it and also try it combined with PC restart. It is a weird problem!?
