Zen XFi 2 Stuck( FREZZING)on Rebuilding Latest firmware does not help

!I suspect the battery was too low when you did the update. Charge the player for a couple of hours then try booting the from the recovery mode. Select Format (note: format will delete the contents of the player so you may need to put back your music files from your PC once the player is up and running) then Reboot. Download the latest firmware available from the support site and follow the steps under details on how to update the firmware. Hope this hel

Creative Zen Mozaic EZ100 stuck on 'rebuilding' screen

Hi,
I bought my Creative Zen Mozaic EZ00 in February and yesterday, after adding files to it and disconnecting the usb, it went onto the 'rebuilding' screen and became stuck there. I reset it and when I turned it back on, it stuck on the same screen once again. I have tried accessing the recovery menu, but it won't appear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

:Mine does this sometimes. i tried to recovery mode-nothing worked. tried firmware-nothing. so i deleted everything on my ZEN Mozaic and unplugged and waited for it to load up and then i plugged it on the USB and aded my music and took it off and it worked. but i hate to do this everytime.

Zen stuck while rebuilding

i have a creative zen (only )
S/N is MAPF262 807M 0085 7H The model no is R33022 DVP-FL000
.the player is stuck while rebuilding,
i went to recovery mode,
performed cleanup where the disk was scanned to 00% and the player froze
then i formatted it ,it got formatted
but when i select reboot it goes back to the rebuilding screen
,even reload firmware works but the computer displays a message stating that the firmware upgrade has failed
please help!!!!

When you format the player, all the contents will be deleted. There's really a hardware problem with the player and the only way to fix it is to send the unit for repair. Try contacting support on the link I provided above.

Creative Zen Vision 30Gb Stuck in Recovery Mode, Freezes when trying to deal with Firmware

My Zen Vision is stuck in Recovery Mode. The PC recognizes it but it comes up as 50mb Storage Media. When you touch Reload Firmware or Format All, it freezes and you have to pull the battery out to shut it off. I don't know what to do. Charges fine, never said anything about HARDWARE issues, just can't get it to not freeze when trying to load firmware back onto it.

I did the same thing, my unit was working perfectly.
I just read that these players have a laptop 2.5 hard dri've installed in the unit. If this is true, the next chance I get, I will take my unit apart (40 gig nomad zen xtra) and see if I can reinstall the firmware directly. It's probably what they do at the repair sho

Whenever I loaded my files onto my ZEN it would show up as a Voice under Recordings.
And the file name would be "MIC and the date file created etc..."
I noticed that these files where all starting with the letters MIC at the front of the filename...
For instance: Michael_Jackson_Thriller.mp3?? or? Michael_W_Smith_Let_it_rain.mp3
and so on and so on... ANY file that started with the letters M I C? would be thrown in as a voice recorded file and the TAG would not operate.
I have the latest Firmware on my MP3 Player.
The fix was just to change the file name so it did not start with MIC... so i went and switched Michael Jackson to M.Jackson and also switched Michael W Smith to M W smith.
The tag showed up appropriately and I have had no problems since.
It would be nice if there was another Firmware update so that MP3's could start with the letters MIC also I was hoping to bring awareness to this situation for other users.

I used Windows Media Player to sync the files.
I used Creative Central to transfer the files.
These two methods produced results where the file starting with MIC turned into a voice recordings.
I also had problems just copying and pasting the files (using windows explorer).
I have not had any problems with any other file. I normally use MP3Tag to tag my files.
However i even tried using Windows Media to tag the file and I even tried using Creative Central to tag the files.
I tried as many work arounds as possible. But once i renamed the file it worked.

How do I recreate Bridge Cache after Purge? Stuck on rebuilding criteria.

Bridge had a problem and displayed alert that central cache should be purged, which I did. Having closed it out and reopened, it is stuck on "rebuilding criteria". Have left it on for 12 hours and exited program. Using a Macbook pro, OS X 10.8.4

I HAVE THE ANSWER!
Apologies for shouting but this is my solution:
1) Make sure the 'good' files are backed up first
2) As Winston said, turn off icloud in pages and icloud settings
3) As Winston said, reboot any devices
4) The solution . . . open Safari browser and sign in to icloud - the key here, is that I was previoulsy using Google Chrome as my browswer. I saw ALL my files there, included the ghost files that were not visible in Chrome. I deleted the lot, one by one. When I switched icloud back onto ipad and iphone all the ghosts were gone. iCloud is working on all three devices (PC included) and I have cancelled my Genius Bar appointment (hopefully not too early). I hope this saves others the day and night its taken me!!

Player stuck on rebuilding library.

My MP3 player is stuck on rebuilding library and has been for the past 2 hours. It also is not being recognized by my computer if I try to plug it in.

It wasn't even plugged in to my usb cable when it started doing rebuilding library. Not exactly sure why it started doing it.... I just turned it on and it went to rebuilding library and stopped there. Someone told me to try and see if I could plug it in and do anything with it and it my computer won't recognize it.
Yeah I have all my songs saved on my computer but I don't know how I can format my player since the thing isn't even being recognized.

Connectivity issuse with Zen Xfi

Hi, a couple of months ago i bought a Zen Xfi because my Zen V died.
The trouble is when i'm synchronizing music from my laptop, or even when the player is only idly connected, it keeps loosing and regaining connection whith the laptop. This is especially annoying when im synchronizing trought windows media player since the whole synch. list is lost when i loose connection.

Do you have another cable to use? You may have a wire that is broken or breaking.

Creative Zen XFI Online Problems

Hi folks,
today I received a Creative Zen XFI 6GB WLAN MP4 Player to Christmas.
I configured it and I set up the Creative Media Server. It all works perfectly, I can watch the Filmn on my PC and hear the mp3s.
But there is one problem. I want to listen to Online Streams. How do I do this? Please help me
And would it be possible to rip the Online Stream to the Player instantly? That would also be nice.
Except of this 2 little problems the Player is realy awesome Nice work guys and **bleep**ing good Sound

This is not supported on the ZEN X-Fi.

Creative Zen mp3 20gb stuck on 'ho

hi,?please help if you can... my zen creative is stuck on hold even though the slider button on the top is slid towards the 'off' side. I can't slide the button to where it should be to put the player on hold, so i can't turn off my zen or move to another track, please help!?christina

Zen XFI 16gb - SDHC problems?

Hi there,
I recently was given a Zen XFI 6gb and also a 6gb SDHC card (no name from play.com)?
If i put the player into mass storage mode (in the memory card menu) i can write files to it fine and can then play them back on my pc from the connected player in mass storage mode, but when i try to do anything with these files when its disconnected from the pc i get at first no response from the player eg i click on browse controls freeze for a split second and then i get menu movement again with no on screen errors, if i try again it says there is no card insterted, i eject the card and reinsert and try again....this time though i get a message on screen which says "Connecting...." and thas how far it gets untill i hard reset the player.
I can plug the player back into the pc after this and i can still read my files correctly. (I have tried with different mp3's and fat32/ntfs options still makes no difference)
Is this a firmware problem with an incompatible card? the reason im suspicious with this is the card reads and writes fine when its connected to the pc, just not when in standalone mode.
I have also tried some sd(hc) formatting software but it still made no difference
Firmware is the latest.

I was just looking for the answer to the same question you have. Same issue. I got a Silicon Power 4Gb SDHC (class 6) card, and it just freezes up my X-Fi 6Gb completely. Actually, I can use the card once through the Browse menu, but the next time I try, it just hangs and needs a soft reset. After that, I can use it again just once before it freezes again, etc.
Oh, it seems that my brand new Sandisk (!) 4Gb SDHC class 2 card won't budge either. Creative only lists their Sandisk Ultra II SDHC High Performance card, class 2, as compatible for the size that I'd like to use (4Gb). :-(
It does work fine through the Removable Disk menu option however, just like you said.

Hi?My Zen Touch is stuck in Recovery mode, it's deleted it's firmware and can't seem to load anymore. The PC knows it's connecting, because it opens Media Player 0, but Media Player says it's not connected. Creative's advice was to: - . Uninstall all Creative software & drivers
2. If you have Windows Media Player installed then uninstall both it
and Windows Media Player runtime (will require a reboot for each
process). This is done by going to the Add/Remove programs and
uninstalling (This will put your PC back to WMP0).
3. Re-install the Zen Touch drivers from the Creative website and reboot
4. Plug the Zen Touch in.
5. Make sure you have the firmware update ready, run it but do not click
on the language bit yet, leave the mouse hovering over your language
selection.
6. On the Zen Touch's Rescue Mode, select "Reload OS"?
7. As soon as it flashes up "Reload new firmware now via USB" click the
language button
8. The PC should find it and allow you to re-load the firmware. (This
may take a few attempts)
9. Once complete, click close and restart the PC. Everything should now
be fine.
0. Once you are happy you can re-install WMP and it will work fine.

Sounds like the hard dri've heads are jammed. Do you get a faint clicking followed by the recovery menu on bootup?

Zen is stuck on rebuilding.

So my zen 2 gb crashed yesterday (like always) it went to the rebuilding screen but it never finishes rebuilding. I reseted the thing like 0 times already and it does the same thing. Same night I just let the battery died and when I charged it up this mourning it still has the problem.
This happened to me along time ago with my vision: m but I forgot how to like redo my player. any help?
Just Dled the recovery tool but it keeps saying "no support device is connected". I assuming it is b/c my player is still stuck on the rebuilding screen.

On the Zen Style 00 there is NO power button, you power up by pressing and holding the play/pause button.
To access the clean-up mode on the Zen Style 00:
Press and hold the play button until the creative logo appears
Hit the BACK button
the recovery menu should now appear.
Select clean up then once the clean up function has run, select re-boot.
Don't worry when it goes back to the rebuilding gubbins, it takes a while but it does rebuild

Creative Zen 8gb stuck in 'rebuilding' scr

Whenever I turn on my sister's creative zen it goes straight to the 'rebuilding screen'. The bar moves up about a fifth of the way then freezes.
I have tried every bit of advice I could find, i.e. i've gone into recovery mode, done the scan disk, format, and reload firmware, all to no avail.
I downloaded the latest firmware (ZEN_PCFW_L22__2_0e) and tried to upgrade the player to this via recovery mode, but i keep getting 'upgrade failed'.
The only way I can even get my computer to even recognise the player is by going into recover mode.
I'm sunning Vista...the player was working fine for a few months and this happened out of the blue, according to her.
Is there anything else I can try or is this a hardware issue?
Please help!!!!

Yes, about a million times at this stage. When it gets stuck on the rebuilding screen I have no other way of turning it off than to reset it.Message Edited by BleakestH on 09-07-2008 04:05 AM
