Zen xtra - change playlist order by alpha

hi there!
is there a way to change the playlist order by alphabet?
e.g.
i have a lot of tracks and so does my girlfriend.
i want to create a playlist including all my tracks and a playlist including all tracks of my girlfriend. i know how to do this so far.
but with the creative media source organizer it is not possible to change the playlist order by alphabet.
or am I wrong?
further i have recognized that it takes very long to play a playlist (just the playlist the tracks are already on the device) on the device.
let's say ,5-2 sec per track that is included in the playlist.
is this normal?
cheers

. i don't want to play tracks in alphabetical order. i just want to use this option to have a seperate playlist sorted. let's say i played some music with an other program, no i transfer all the played tracks via playlist in my zen, to find tracks faster i want to have the option to sort it in alphabetical order.
2. tried it with notmad explorer, i can't find an option to sort the playlist, at least in trial version.
3. please tell me how long it takes you approx. to transfer a track to your zen? ir takes me approx. -3 sec per track. (i.e. several hours, up to 6 to transfer approx 60gb. is this normal)
4. is the transfer rate with notmad explorer in full version much higher?
cheers

  • IPod touch keeps changing playlist order.

My iPod touch keeps rearranging the order of my podcast play list. I have them arranged by composer (i placed the release date in the composer slot) and sort them from oldest to newest. This never happens on either my 30gig video or 80gig classic, just my 32gig touch. I turned off shake to shuffle and the shuffle icon is not highlighted. Is there any way to keep this from happening?

I have the same problem with all of my playlists. It is a problem for my playlists designed for my workouts as they are arranged by beats per minute. I have also tried to turn off the the shake to shuffle but it didn't work. If anyone has a solution, please help!!

  • Managing data files on Zen Xtra 6

I'm thinking of buying a Zen Xtra 60Gb in order to house and use my music collection, but also to act as a backup from my notebook pc.
The Xtra's manual makes some reference to data files - but will this work? Does Windows XP recognise it as another dri've, and can I just upload and download using Windows Explorer?
Please let me know what you think.
    Thank you.

You cannot "drag and drop" files as metioned here with this player. If that iss what you mean. So you could not back it up like that. But i do beli've you can still put files and documantation on the player.

  • Zen Xtra Playlists Limit

    Hi,
I have created 53 playlists on my Zen Xtra 60 GB. I try to create more, but nothing happens. I tried Notmad Explorer, and the result is same (no result ).
I have finally found somewhere info that 53 is a limit (?!?!?!). But there is no info about it on Zen Box, instructions nor Creative site or Help.
Is Creative going to do something with this silly small limit's This is NOT a discussion about who needs more than 53 playlists.
Please help! I really need more playlists. Even if firmware allowed searching by: Artist - Album (not either Artist or Album or Artist->Album) it wold be only partial advantage to the playlist limit problem.

Right now I only see ..(open) >sort by track or sort by album but I would love to see the artist I have listed under a genre (I don't have a good enough memory to remember which album is by which artist)
This is a longstanding wishlist item unfortunately. I'm not sure if this was changed on recent players (I'll have to check my Zen).
vdv: From a practical POV I can't see Creative changing the playlist limit. You're the only person I've seen ask for it. It would be great if they could accomodate it, but I just can't see it happening unfortunately, so I would try and find some other method if you can. If you really are dead set on Artist - Album browsing, why not change all the Artist or Album tags to have this data. I'm guessing a mass tagger could do this pretty quickly.

  • I copied a smart playlist to a regular playlist in order to change the order of the individual selections.  I then burned the regular playlist to a cd, but the cd burned it in alphabetical order as it appears on the smart playlist.

I changed the order, then burned a cd but the cd copied the songs in the order of the smart playlist, which was alphabetical.  What am i doing wrong in this scenario, and is there a way to change the song order in a smart playlist?  I am a new MAC user.  Is this unique to the MAC format?

I'm trying to figure out a way to make a playlist of songs I generally like from a very large library to fit on my iPod. The songs aren't rated, and I don't want to have a totally random selection chosen by a smart playlist.
    I usually make two playlists.
One playlist with favorites I do want on the iPod and another smart playlist to fill the rest of the iPod. Just limit the size to th esize of the iPod minus wthe size of my iPod selection playlist.

  • I cannot change song order on playlist with highlight and drag. I have turned off shuffle and highlighted the far left column( up/down arrow) of playlist. My mac pro is running 10.5.8  and am using itunes 10.4.

I cannot change song order on playlists (old or new) with highlight and drag. I have turned off shuffle and highlighted the far left column (up/down arrow) of playlist. My mac pro is running 10.5.8  and am using itunes 10.4. I can't drag and drop "music" to "playlist" but can right click and get the option to "add to playlist." No such option for moving song within playlist, only the up and down arrow which moves song from top to bottom list, so if it is #4 from top it will move to #4 from bottom. Stupid I know. I spent over an hour with Apple support, reinstalled itunes, restarted and rebooted computer. Networked with my laptop which is running 10.6.8 and itunes 10.4 and it can drag and drop. The final Apple support solution was to reinstall my operating system. I would prefer not to. Any other ideas?

After looking at other people's posts, I think it's official: there is a bug. Itunes support said I should not have lost the drag/drop tool and I haven't on the laptop that is running itunes 10.4 and operating system 10.6.8. I chatted with someboby who lost both his drag/drop and side scroll and what we have in common is a wacom tablet for a mouse. My laptop is a wireless mouse. I reinstalled whatever updated driver that wacom has out there, shut the system down for night, hoping for magic, but alas none to be had. So if I want to change song order, I network the laptop and desktop, share the screen on the laptop, drag and drop to my heart's content and curse Apple for making me work this hard to find the tool that was once at my fingertips. Apple also let me know that if I want to share songs in household that the hundreds on songs that were purchased for .99 need to be repurchased for another .30. Maybe Apple is holding my drag/drop tool captive til I pay up the money or Maybe the next update will fix the problem, I for one give up for now.

  • Changing song order in playlists - changes no longer show on ipod until sync

I organize my playlists according to how I rate songs; songs with higher ratings go at the top. When the last operating system came out there was a glitch where on the iPod (but not in iTunes) songs were ordered inversely, ie. songs with higher ratings were stuck at the bottom. This was annoying, but one bonus was that when rating songs on the iPod, the position of the song would change automatically. For example, if Song A had two stars but I changed the rating to 3 stars on my iPod, Song A would immediately move and join the other 3-star songs. The changes would then be tranferred to iTunes upon syncing my device.
Now, after having updated iTunes, the playlists are in the correct hierarchical order, but I can't seem to immediately change the order of songs in playlists according to their ratings. Instead, I have to rate the song and sync my device for it to change in iTunes, and then sync my iPod again to have the playlist updated on the iPod itself. This isn't a big deal, but I enjoyed the ability to instantaneously alter my playlists based on the song ratings. Am I missing something? Any advice?

What did you do when you " i recently added iCLOUD service "?

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync

  • How do I change the order of my songs in a playlist?

I am trying to change the order of songs in a play list by dragging a song to the desired location. For example taking the 10th song and moving it so that it is first song.
Sometimes I am successfuly in dragging the song in a play list. Other times I cannot do it. Please advise.

In order to change the order of a playlist, you MUST click on the first header to sort by that column (the numbers column). If you are sorting by other columns (e.g. Artist, title, etc.) you can not reorder manually.

  • Ipad2, iOS 8.1.2, how do I change the order of songs in my Playlists?

I Have an iPad 2, using iOS 8.1.2. i can't seem to change the order of songs in my Playlists in the Music App. I've clicked on Edit, and tried moving the 3 lines on the right up/down, but when I press Done, the changes have not been affected. Can anyone advise, please? I'm sure I'm missing something!

It sounds like you are doing it correctly. That method works for me in iOS 8.1.2
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iDevice?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • HT1660 How do I change the order of the songs in a playlist?

How do I change the order of the songs on a playlist.  The songs seem to have rearranged themselves.

When viewing a playlist the left most column of numbers is the Play Order. If you click the heading of this column then it should restore the previously defined order. You will also be able to drag tracks up and down the list. If you decide to sort on another column heading, say Album by Artist, you can right-click the playlist name and then click Copy to Play Order to ensure the new order is copied to any device that syncs with the library.

With the new upgrades itunes    How do I change the order of my songs on my playlist.  I used to just drag it up on down in the list

Control click one of the out-of-order songs.  Choose "Get Info".  Click the "Info" tab. You will see "Track Number" XX "of" YY.  Change the first number there.
Do the same for all songs that need correction.

  • How can I change the order of the songs listed in a playlist?

How can I change the order of the songs listed in a playlist?

    Hello Pokerplayer62,
In order to update the order of items in your playlists on the iPod Nano, you have to update them on the computer, and then sync the updated playlists to your device.
From the iPod Nano User guide here: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_us/ipod_nano_features_guide.pdf
To set iTunes to update iPod nano automatically with selected playlists:
Open iTunes and select iPod nano in the Source list. Click the Options button and click Music.
Select “Automatically update selected playlists only.” Select the playlists you want.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • HT1386 Change of order in playlists. Problems after sync

I have my ipod classic for many years, but recently encountered problems after sync. Itunes changes the order of tracks in my playlists. I want them be ordered by album, but itunes ordered it by "ticked". I tried to change it before sync. First this seem to be work, but now the order is again wrong. I find this really annoying, because "ticked" seemed to mean to be similar to "by name" of tracks. This does not make any sense for my music.
Any ideas, what I can do?
