Zen xtra is detected, but doesnt appear in my computer!

Hi guys! I havent used my zen xtra in a while. I d/led and installed the latest drivers today, as I wanted to back up my music. I followed the instructions for installing the drivers, and everything went fine. I connected the device, and it said blah blah...new device detected, detected zen xtra etc....yor device is now ready to use...
fine....but it just doesnt appear as a mass storage device in my computer!! Neither is it detected by their creative media source.
The device appaers as a zen xtra in device manager, under usb devices, and says it is working fine!
I dont get it's!
....uninstalled, re-installed, removed from device manager, got all my latest updates etc...
The only thing of note is that the battery is totally dead, and im powering it off the mains. Havent installed the latest firmware, but that shouldnt matter, right?!
Any suggestions?

Thanx for that! It personally would make sense for me for creative to include that extra program within the drivers!! ... I just thought it was an optional extra!!
Having said that, Im still pretty sure that my zen used to appear in my computer!! As I used to be able to drag standard files into it!...maybe I need to d/l another program for that!!

I store my music on an external drive and in a folder E:\ Hugo's Tunes because my laptop drive is too small. Recently laptop died and I have installed itunes on another laptop also with a small drive. I cannot see my content on the new itunes. I have set location in preferences to E:\Hugo's Tunes without any benefit. Clearly I'm doing something silly but don't know what. Help please

Hi Hugo. If the content was stored on the external drive but the library files were stored on the internal then you have lost all your original library information such as date added, ratings and play counts. Having pointed iTunes to the external drive already you still need to import the content into your new empty library. If, on the other hand, you had successfully put your library files on the external then you need to hold down shift when starting iTunes and browse to the library on the external drive.
Assuming my first guess was correct I'd actually recommend that you use the hold-down-shift-when-starting-iTunes method to create a new empty library at <External>iTunes, then move the existing media files into *<External>\iTunes\iTunes Media* and finally import *<External>\iTunes\iTunes Media* into the library. This will make moving the library between machines much easier in future.

I recently purchased an in-app purchase, and it didnt appear in the application. The application is Soccer Superstars 2012. When i tried purchasing it again, it says "You have bought this purchase but it has not been downloaded yet. Press Ok to download it" So i pressed Ok and yet it still doesnt appear in the application. Please help me. It is still billed to me but doesnt appear in the application. There are 2 purchases that were billed but did not appear in the application. I'm being billed when i did not even get the purchase in the application.

Try disabling a/v software and turning off the Firewall.

Hey,
I'm sure this has been posted to death, but I cant find an acceptable solution.
I have a 40 gig creative jukebox zen xtra, and i have downloaded and installed multiple versions of creative mediasource, and drivers. Creative's explorer notices the device and I have not gotten any firmware updates, so windows media player recognizes the device as one with outdated drivers. I do not want to get the firmware updates because none of my songs are on my harddrive, so i dont want to lose them.
Also the disk that came with the player seems to be messed up. The disk comes up in explorer style with all of the folders. The only problem is, all of the folders are empty. What is going on here?
I have XP SP 2, and the device manager reports no problems.
Please help?

Creative Zen xtra 30gb detection iss

my laptop refuses to let me add music to my player. I have sp2 and wmp 0. I tried my mp3 on a friends computer and it worked and instantly recognized. I updated to playforsure firmware on my friends computer but it wont recognize my player on my laptop. When i plug it into my laptop it detects that i plugged in a zen xtra player but it asks me where the drivers are. I have installed the drivers already and i try pointing the hardware install directory to the creative folder with the drivers in it. It tells me that the driver is not found. You can see this thread and try those files mention and posted by this poster "DM". The "fixup" file seems to help others.

Hello- I'm trying to install a Creative Zen Xtra mp3 player on Windows XP. I installed all of the drivers and software, but when I connected the player, I got an error from Windows saying the "USB device is not recognized". I tried downloading all the new drivers and software from Creative, but it's no use. I was hoping maybe someone would have the inf file so I can install the driver manually. I can't find it on the installation CD or online anywhere. Thanks for any help!?~Jim

You need to reinstall iTunes, or repair it.
Go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program. Search for iTunes in that list and right click it, then choose Repair.
After the repair is finished reboot your computer. If that doesn't work, uninstall it and reinstall it.
Also, they both should however appear in 'My Computer' as digital cameras.
if they don't try reinstalling your USB port drivers from your motherboard CD or motherboard manufacturer website.

My 2nd Gen iPod Touch won't show up in iTunes but does appear in My Computer

When I connect my 2nd Generation iPod touch to my laptop it will not appear in iTunes. It does, however, appear in my Computer.
I have worked through all of the troubleshooting guides on the Apple Support section, and have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice.
This message appears every time I plug my iPod in, and frequently whilst it is still plugged in charging:
'MobileMe Service has stopped working.' This is a pop-up window produced by Windows, I know this is the 'service' that picks up an iPod's prescence but stopping and restarting the service does nothing. My iPod still won't show up.
Please help, I am willing to faff around a bit. Might it be a problem with Windows itself? If so, how would I go about fixing it?

I have the same problem with my 2nd gen itouch.
I've tried other computer and my childrens iPods work on my computer so not a windows problem. I've tried reinstalling iTunes and resetting itouch as per apple support pages but nothing, it doesn't even show on my computer. Any help greatly appreciated :-)

Help! My Zen Micro is detected but not connected to zen media explorer & mediasou

recently i just bought a creative zen micro at 5 GB. after installing all the drivers and programs using the installation CD that came with my player, I connected my player through the USB cable to my pc USB root hub.
an auto-detect of my zen micro window pops up at the righthand corner, prompting me to click 'organize' in the creative media source. clicking the organize option, mediasource program starts but while it is loading the music library, an error message: CTCMS, The program has performed a illegal operation......etc.
i tried disconnecting my player followed by opening the media source prog and connecting my player after that. another error message: file operation failed. please ensure that your player is properly connected.
I'm using windows 98 SE on an AMD processor. i was able to use the removable disk mode of my player to store data from pc. However when comes to the media mode of my player, it is shown as not connected status in the zen micro media explorer and in the creative media source program, it's either shown as not properly connected or illegal operation when loading music library from my player. in addition, under the device manager, the creative zen micro driver is shown as working properly. i was also able to upgrade my firm ware to version .02.05. using my pc to connect to my player. However, even before upgrading the firmware, this problem is already present. i have contacted the creative technical support helpdesk for advise on this issue and they have suggested to me various solutions such as checking my drivers if they are updated, reinstalling the drivers and software applications for the media library, installing jet engine service pack for my windows and the MDAC component but still nothing works.
anyone have any suggestions? pls help

Sorry I can't help you. I just wanted to let you know I have the same exact problem. It started three days ago and I've been going back and forth with creative support and nothing has worked. I am beginning to grow really distressed. I feel a little better now because after seeing that it's happening with someone else, it is most likely not the player. I am running windows 98 SE as well. I also have an AMD Duron processor. I have a new computer on the way with windows XP I really hope it works. But now I have a new problem. I listed it on the front page of this forum a few minutes ago. My player froze and now only boots up in rescue mode. I am getting so frustrated with my player. If you figure anything out will you be as kind as to send me a message on how you got your player working again? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I bought and downloaded a ringtone from iTunes on my iMac and downloaded it, but can't find it on my iPhone. Under "Settings" and "Ringtone" the only sounds that show are the default ones from Apple. How do I get iPhone to let me see and select my downloaded ringtone?

Hi, yes I did create it and yes it appears under ringtones as well as under "purchased" under iTunes on the iPhone. But how do I get that ringtone to appear the Setting and Sounds icon. When I go back there and select ringtones, the only ones there are the Apple-generated ones that came with the iPhone.

I have removed iTunes as I had previously unintentionally removed a part of the program that gave my laptop sound!
