Zen Xtra Stopped transferr

I upgraded to the new Play for Sure Firmware, and had all the same 'teething Problems' everyone else had with regard to speed etc, but at least it worked with Napster. Now, 24 songs transfered without any problems, it suddenly won't let me transfer over any Napster tracks. If I use Napster itself it just stops, if I use WM0 I get an error saying i/o operation aborted.
Anyone got any ideas. As a result of this my library has vanished several times, and I've had to reboot the machine to get it back. Don't know if that hel
ps.
James

Hate to butt in but I'm having a similar problem.
I've the Zen Micro (5gig). Recently after downloading and installing via creatives "suggested" software, my computer no longer recogizes the player in any way ie
) throught the creative media source tool
2)windows "my computer"
3)Device manager
So I've uninstalled the updates and all the software, run a registry cleanser (jv6), and then tried to install just the basic mediasource etc. Not the rip and burn tools. Still no dice.
So after trying to find a combination of programs via the creative page that would enable windows to "see" my player. And as yet nothing has worked. I figure that I have borked my firmware somehow and have uninstalled firmware via recovery screen. When that didn't work I formatted and now still have no windows recognition.
Well I'm a turkey. So any hints. Oh I should mention that the usb ports are ok (other USB periphrials work just fine), and that there anre no updates available for my mainboard/OS.
I hope someone will help

  • Zen Xtra stop playb

Alright, call me daft but I just got my Zen Xtra 30GB and was wondering if its possible to actually 'stop' playback of an mp3 instead of just pausing it's Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

    wulfie wrote:
so, instead of 'stopping' playback, I can just turn it off? I guess that's something I'm not used to yet
Yes, but then when you turn it on again it will be playing at the same volume and same point in the song when you turned it off. I usually just hit pause before I turn it off so I don't turn it on to a halfway played song.

  • Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra stops working with XP following Windows Media Player 11 Beta Installat

Yesterday I was very pleased to find that my Creative Zen Xtra (model DAP-HD00) portable media player is a PlaysForSure capable device. Creative Labs, on November 9, 2005, released the Creative Zen Xtra PlaysForSure Firmware v2.0.03. I installed this firmware (I had to install the Creative ZenJukebox Driver v.30.03 first to get Windows to recognize the device). Once the firmware was upgraded, Windows began recognizing the Zen Xtra as a MTP device and life was good. I was able to synchronize it with both Napster To Go and Windows Media Player 0.
After this, I went ahead and installed Windows Media Player Beta, which I just downloaded yesterday as well.
From a functional standpoint, WMP seems to run just fine. However, when I connected the Creative Zen Xtra (with its PlaysForSure firmware), Windows redetected the hardware. It first showed "Creative Jukebox Zen Xtra" in the tooltip, followed by "MTP Device" in the new hardware tooltip. Finally, Windows announced that there was a problem installing my new hardware and that it may not work properly.
Sure enough, when I went into Device Manager, my Zen Xtra was showing as an MTP Device with an exclamation point on it. More specifically, it specified the status of, "This device cannot start (Code 0)."
Prior to the installation of Windows Media Player, the Creative Zen Xtra showed in device manager with the following characteristics under the heading "Windows Portable Devices":
Name: NOMAD Jukebox Zen XtraDriver Version: 5.2.0.0 dated 8/30/2004Digitally Signed by Microsoft Windows Component Publisher
    Driver File Details:C:\Windows\system32\wpdusb.sys - v5.2.3802.3802 built by dnsrv(bld4act)
Windows Media Player changed this to the following (the device now shows up under "Portable Devices"):
Name: MTP DeviceDriver Version: 5.2.5326.4762 dated 2/22/2006Digitally Signed by Microsoft Windows Component Publisher
    Driver File Details:C:\Windows\system32\wpdusb.sys - v5.2.5358.4827 (WMP_.060509-2009)C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\wudfrd.sys - v6.0.5348.0(winmain(wmbla).0604-339)
The file wudfrd.sys is NOT digitally signed in this case.
As of now, my Zen Xtra is completely unusable on this system, and I need to sync it with my laptop for the time being, which still has WMP 0 installed on it.
Is this a bug with WMP beta? Is it a problem with my firmware? Since this is PlaysForSure compliant firmware, and it worked flawlessly with Napster and WMP 0 (before the MTP driver was updated), it would seem to be a WMP beta issue. I'd like to hear more official confirmation on the subject, however.
Some general details about my system are:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2Verified GENUINE Microsoft operating system using Genuine Advantage ValidationIntel Pentium 4 CPU 3.2 GHz, Hyper-Threaded processor2.00 GB RAM
Windows Media Player Version: .0.5358.4827Napster Version: 3.6.0.7 (US)
Any recommendations? Fixes? Some have suggested rolling back the WMP installation, but I would like to consider this option only as an absolute last resort.
    Best regards,Matt

Ok, this worked out accidentally - but happily
I first installed the driver - not the media source - but the driver for the device.
After that the windows device manager yellow sign disappeared - apparently the device driver was registered by windows.
Then I Installed Mediasource 5 - the installation went thru fine.
Does anyone have any recommended updates to install, please also advise what benefits.
    Thanks.

  • Creative Zen Xtra stopped loading music with 5.7g space left? H

Ive been using my 30g Creative zen xtra for close to two years loading ripped cds using mediasource. I have .20.8 firmware and have had no problem.Last night with zen showing 5.7 gis of space left I tried to load a few ripped cds as usual using mediasource and usb. The action went the same as usual with mediasorce telling me songs were being tranfered but when completed they were not in player. I tried it a few tims with different usb ports and cords but still songs not in player. The only thing Ive done different is last week I used player interface to delete one cd and it went fine.
My biggest fear is having to reload close to ten thousand songs back into my Zen Xtra if i loose them trying to get transferring to work again. If I use the scandisc feature would that cause my library to need to be reloaded?Perhaps i should just leave well enough alone and just use the zen as a player of all my music and not try to fix it. I know there is 5.7 gigs of space left,I have been encoding my songs at 96 bites so space should not be an issue.Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks [email protected]

    mattg3 wrote:
Would clean up from recovery mode help solve this problem without loosing my music content?
Hard to say whether it will help but you can try. Cleanup shouldn't delete any of the content unless the player has gone completely haywire.

  • Zen Xtra Stops Loading At the EAX Screen..

Well the other day while I was listening to music the player froze up so I had to reset it. After taking it out of its protecti've case thingy, I went to click the reset button when the player slipped out of my hands and dropped on the floor. Now the player only goes to the EAX screen and makes clicking noises for a bit, and then transfers over to the Rescue Mode screen. I have tried "percussi've maintenance" a bunch of times... maybe I am hitting it wrong? I set the player on the table and hit the side. Any suggestions?

Percussi've maintenance usually involves holding the player with one hand, and giving it a hard slap with the other. There is another technique described here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net.
Of course this is always a last resort, and the problem may not be jammed heads.

  • 30GB Zen Xtra stopped work

I've had my MP3 Player for almost 5 months with absolutly no problems. suddenly i tryed to use it and it doesnt work. it powers up, but it never gets past the EAX screen. after about 30 seconds it goes strait to the rescue mode screen and none of the options seem to work. when i try to format all or reload OS i get a message saying harddisk problem. can anyone tell me how i can fix this and possibly why it stopped working?

I contacted costomer support to find how much it would cost to fix my player and surprizingly it would only cost me $40 without any warranty. but thats not the miricle i was talking about. i was getting my player ready to ship for repairs so i figured id try smacking it one more time seeing as any damage to the harddri've would be fixed because it was being replaced, and TADA it worked. Its a miracle i tell ya!!!!!
thans for all your help guys!

  • Zen XTRA is completely dead after installing the latest firmware 2.10

Hello,?I have tried to install the latest firmware 2.0.03 to my Zen Xtra 60GB mp3 player. The installation process completed about 70%. As I understand, at that point the?new firmware was finally uploaded after a couple of player reboots. The?firmware installer was waiting with a message "Waiting for the player to reboot", and the player rebooted. But the firmware installer was waiting, and waiting... and after an hour I looked at the player and saw that it was not starting up at all. I removed the USB cable, stopped the firmware upgrade process and tried to reboot the player with reset; then I tried to access the recovery menu as described in the FAQ?- but no success. The player shows completely no response to any button presses, the LCD does not even flicker, the hard dri've does not power up - I don't hear it. Nothing happens, even if pressing the play/reset switch for fi've minutes. What's could be the matter? And more importantly, how can I get it working back again? I fear that the warranty has expired by now. Can anyone suggest what to do?I would be grateful for any ideas.

It is puzzling how some people including myself can upgrade thier firmware on thier devices and experience no problems at all during the procedure. Then theres others like yourself who would experience catastrophic events.
Since we all downloaded the firmware from the same place, and?alot of us didn't have any problems, it is?at least safe to say that there isn't anything?wrong?with the new firmware. Or else we'd all problems.
So for these devices that are failing, there must have been already a serious problem with them before the upgrade even started. The symptons just went unnoticed through every day normal use. And are only manifested through a reload/upgrade of firmware. Or something happened on the computer itself, during the transfer of data; auto file scanning virus protection comes to mind, or other programs or services running in the background that were taking up resources needed to make the upgrade go smoothly,?a USB cable with a short in it or a bad USB port. Who knows?!
If the player doesn't even start?up in?rescue mode then theres really nothing as a consumer you can do to fix it. You'd have to just see about getting it repaired, or replace it. I know yours is a 60GB, but?I gotta tell you the new 30GB Zen Vision M is a sweet deal!

  • Windows XP driver problem - Nomad Zen Xtra and Zen To

I have both a Nomad Zen Xtra 60GB and a Zen Touch 20GB, both of which were working fine with my Windows XP Pro SP2 computer until a couple of days ago. I had recently put firmware 2.0.03 onto the Zen Xtra, and was using the drag-and-drop method in Windows Explorer to copy loads of albums across to it from my music folder. It seems I might have tried to copy too much over at one go, because eventually the file copying just stopped, and I had to unplug the Zen Xtra from the PC to abandon the copy process. Since then, neither Zen device has been properly recognised by any of my PCs. When I plug the Zen Xtra into?a USB port, Windows brings up the messages: "Found new hardware: Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra" and "Found new hardware: MTP device", then brings up the Found New Hardware Wizard, even though firmware 2.0.03 is supposed to provide "seamless support with any computer running Microsoft? Windows Media? Player 0 and Windows? XP - no drivers or software needed" (I have WMP0.00.00.4036 installed). The Zen Xtra's display does not show the "docked" icon except when plugged into my laptop (running XP Home Edition)... but even on the laptop Windows still asks for a driver, which it then fails to install properly. When I plug my Zen Touch into my PC, it detects that an MTP device has been connected, but Windows Media Player doesn't list it under the Sync tab, and when I try to install the "Creative Software Suite for PlaysForSure-enabled Creative Zen Touch Players", the installer complains that "Setup could not detect any portable device on your system... please ensure that Zen Touch PlaysForSure Firmware is properly installed". The device's firmware version is 2..0, and as I have already said, both this and the Zen Xtra were working fine with my PC up until a couple of days ago. Additionally, the "docked" icon?no longer appears?on the Zen Touch's display when plugged into the PC. I have made the registry change suggested in Creative Knowledge Base Solution ID #9287, and my PC is up-to-date with Windows Hotfixes. I've also tried uninstalling all Creative programs and reinstalling them one at a time, but I can not get my PC to correctly work with the Zen devices anymore. Any suggestions? Also, is there some kind of Factory Reset that I can do to get my Zen Xtra back to an earlier firmware?

I had the same issue. My battery ran down during a sync, then I was unable to sync again.
The Zen is showing up fine in the device manager, but none of the software (Media Player, MediaSource) sees it.
Finally, after a day of trying new drivers, running cleanup, etc. I decided to go into the Zen's recovery menu. To get there, press and hold the Play button and press and hold the reset (use a paperclip) button while powering up.
Once there, select the first option in the menu to Clean up the system. I forgot what it's called and I'm in the middle of a sync now, so can't look.
    Worked fine after that. Phew!
If your device is being detected fine, but cannot sync, try that and post here if it fixes it.

  • [Zen Xtra] Stuck in Recovery Mode after updating Hard Dr

This is a long post, but I thank you in advance if you read it and think you have any ideas for me. Parts of this post were originally posted on the Nomadness.net forums and parts of it come from my personal email correspondence with one of the experienced users on that site.
    Here goes:
I just installed a new HD on my Jukebox, and now I am unable to get it to download the Firmware (current or otherwise) and it remains in a state of rescue mode.
Here is how I posted my dilemma on the nomadness.net forums:
My computer is running Windows XP. I have a Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 40GB that I have had for about 2 years, and have had no problems with it, using it at least 8 hours/day 5 days/week (I run it at my desk while I work). I mention that just to give you an idea of how much regular continuous use it has been getting, if that matters. I have regularly downloaded all the latest appropriate firmware, etc. from the Creative website, using the auto updater service. I have one other Creative product connected to this computer, a SoundBlaster Audigy. This will come up again in a minute.
Over time I have accumulated so much new music that I knew I had to either get a new Jukebox or upgrade the HD. Since the Xtra is no longer available new, and upgraded ones are SO expensi've on eBay, I thought I would install a new HD myself. I read the instructions posted here on nomadness.net, and purchased an 80 GB 5400 RPM Momentus 5400.3 Ultra ATA/00 Internal Hard Dri've (that's Seagate).
Ok, now. The installation went easily enough, but now I cannot get the Firmware to reload. My computer recognizes that the unit is connected - it makes the appropriate sound when I connect or disconnect the JB, and under My Computer, there is the icon for the Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra, under the "Other" category.
When I installed the HD and powered up, I got the rescue menu as expected and started with the "FORMAT ALL". I got the confirmation that it was reformatted and the expected GB of memory showed as available. SO...then I went to "RELOAD OS" and selected the "yes" option to verify that I wanted to reload via USB --BUT-- it only showed the "Start Firmware Update Now" for a second and then went right back to the menu. I have tried using the reset, and every combination of unplugging, replugging, removing the battery, putting it back in, reformatting, etc. and nothing changes. It just goes right back to the rescue menu every time.
I have the Firmware files (old and new) saved on my computer's HD, but when I try to launch any one of them, I get the same annoying message: "Your player is not connected, please connect your player". Well, if the computer thinks it's connected, then why doesn't the firmware file? I don't get it.
If I go back to the Creative auto updater on the website, it still recognizes the SB Audigy being connected, but no longer recognizes the JB.
How can I get the Firmware into the JB if I can't get it to recognize the player being connected? And why is that my computer shows it, if the Firmware file itself doesn't see it's
I received only one response that suggested I check the instructions on the Nomadness FAQs and also the great upgrade guide by Mr. Cheow, also on Nomadness.net.
    This was my follow-up post:
Since I posted this earlier today, I have tried everything, and I mean everything, suggested by all of these "guides" to upgrading a hard dri've.
The problem remains that my computer recognizes the Jukebox as a portable device that is connected, but I am unable to get the Firmware file to load because it always says that my device is not connected. It should also be noted that the Nomad Explorer and other applications also will not recognize it (Notmad, JBHTTP, etc.)
Furthermore, I will add that we have two of the exact same model Jukeboxes and two of the same Dell computers running XP, etc. and in every possible combination we have tried, my Jukebox, with the new HD is the one that can not be accessed. So, I know that the connections, drivers, ports, etc. are not defecti've. The only thing that has changed since this morning is that I installed the new HD in my Jukebox.
I would love for any of you who have done this kind of upgrade to offer suggestions, as I am willing to try anything at this point.
After my last post, as a last ditch effort, my boyfriend suggested swapping the hard dri'ves in my Jukebox and his, thinking that perhaps we could get the firmware to download into his, and then switch the hard dri'ves back. Well, it looked as though it was going to work, and then the firmware update stopped almost as soon as it started and so, we are back to the same impasse. It?s the strangest thing, considering that both of us have been using our respecti've JBs daily, and have had no other problems? until I tried this.
We both racked our brains trying to think of a way we could get the firmware from the computer into the jukebox since it won?t load as long as it doesn?t recognize the player. Is there any workaround for this? By that I mean, is there any way at all to get the firmware into the Jukebox with out just launching it as a self-executing file? I know you can't just ?put? the file into the Jukebox, but is there any other means to extract it into the Jukebox so that I can use it's?
Any help you can offer would be most appreciated. I am worried that I have ruined my Jukebox and wasted $75 on a HD that I can never use?.
***Note on the Hard Dri've I chose:
I specifically chose this HD based on information posted by others on Nomadness
In particular, the newer instructions for upgrading a Zen Xtra hard dri've that were posted by an individual who used a 5400 for his own upgrade. I even emailed him with questions before I went ahead with this HD. As someone who has done this before, he felt that since this HD fits the specs of size and type being used by others doing this type of upgrade, including his own, that it would be fine. I honestly don?t think that it is the HD itself.
Since trying the swapping of HDs and Jukeboxes last night, we now have not one, but two, that are stuck in recovery mode and flash ?Firmware Problem? when rebooted. I don?t see how the HD itself could have done this. In fact, I am certain that the HD did not ?cause? the problem.
I have been reading forums about Jukeboxes (including here), anything I can find, looking for possible solutions. I have discovered that there are many people out there with the same dilemma, even those who simply updated their Firmware and nothing else, but now are stuck in the same frustrating place that I am.
***Note on the versions of the Firmware Update files I have tried:
I was going to use the newest one, but then after reading comments on Nomadness, I decided to try the older version that everyone was saying was less problematic. (see below) One of the posters had provided a link to it, and I copied it from there. I also had two other newer versions of the Firmware Update, including the newest one that has supposedly caused all the problems for others, but none of them would launch anyway ? I just kept getting that same message saying that the ?player is not connected?. Actually, to be more accurate, as I think I described in my original post on Nomadness, when I first tried to upload the firmware, it seemed as though it was going to go through with it, but never got further than one segment on the file progress display. On the screen of the player, it said it was upgrading, but after a few hours, it had gone nowhere.

Amazing that someone noticed this post and took a stab at it after over a year... Actually, I found my answer long ago, and have tried to go back and post?it'son several boards where I had been looking for the answer. It seems to be such a common problem that I figure someone else can surely use this solution as I did. I would suggest that anyone?who is experiencing the frustration of not?getting their computer to recognize their device?read the very enlightening and helpful page that I am linking to here:
http://www.misticri'ver.net/forums/showthread.php?t=30939? (this is from a forum for iRi'ver, but the info and fix are uni'versal)
This simple solution involves correcting the ENUM keys in the Registry (not as scary as you might think) and deleting all instances of your player from the Device Manager and then reinstalling so that Windows and other applications will all recognize your player again. It's so simple, and once I tried it, I was amazed that's all it took to fix the problem.
?I?suggest you read the whole page and follow the instructions as they are given. I deleted and re-installed my player several times and then rebooted a couple of times before it took effect, but then it did, and I was able to download the Firmware and have had continued success with my original player that I posted about as well as others I have acquired since I first posted that message in 2006. For reasons I have not yet identified, this problem still happens every now and again, sometimes when I switch between players to synchronize. It may well be that when I use my registry cleaner or some other utility that "fixes" my registry, that it resets this particular key - but as long as it's easy to fix, it's not a problem. Hope this helps others who may stumble upon this odd little problem with the Zen Xtra.Message Edited by TrixieInDixie on -05-200709:28 PM

  • Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra FIRMWARE PROBL

In the spring of 2005, I bought a 40GB Nomad Jukebox Sen Xtra. It worked for a little over a month without any problems. Since then, it shuts off on its own and?it freezes. For the first time since I bought it, I attempted to load new music onto it. Now whenever I turn it on, it reads "re-building library..." and then it's stuck on "Firmware Problem."? I tried updating?the firmware from the website, but since?my computer no longer recognizes that?the player is?plugged in.
?I welcome any suggestions for this problem. Please help me so I can stop regretting my decision to buy this...

Kayla24?Looks like you're going to have to start regretting buying something?made by?Creative. There are oodles of stories on these boards regarding software problems and creative mp3 players. Creative have published ?'updates' that effecti'vely disable players but will not take any action unless the machine is still under warranty. The last e-mail I got from tech support said 'We know the firmware [update] disabled your machine, but unless it is still in warranty there is nothing we will do about it."? It was a Zen Xtra 30GB, it's now a paperweight. If your's still turns on, try reinstalling the firmware on a old pc/laptop that has never had Windows Media on it, but has been updated to media player 0. This sometimes works - otherwise join the crowds and get an i-pod. At least they work - and Apple fix 'em when they break 'em.

  • Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra - Battery 3.6v vs. 3

Hey all - I'm looking to purchase a replacement battery for my 30g Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra and I've found some cheap ones from ebay (such as this one). The question I have is this: my stock battery is 3.6v but this replacement (which has the same parts number) is rated at 3.7v - is this a problem? Will this damage my player?
Please let me know what issues this may cause and what successes/failures people have had with replacement batteries.
    Thanks in advance!!!
    Dale

I found the following discussion on PowerStream.com :
<A target=_blank><B>Q: What is the difference between the 3.6 volt and the 3.7 volt lithium-ion and lithium-polymer cells?</B>[/url]A. This quesiton has been on my mind for a few months. There is a lot of folklore out there about this. It confused me for two reasons. Firstly, I have never heard of a higher charge voltage for some cells and not others. Secondly, the 3.6 is just a rule-of-thumb average of the battery voltage anyway . The actual voltage varies between 4.2 volts and 3 (or 2.8) volts during the discharge. It doesn't have one voltage. You can't just put a meter on a cell and say "this one is a 3.6 volt cell" or "this one is a 3.7 volt cell."So I asked a friend who has a PhD in battery chemistry and has been designing, testing, and manufacturing lithium ion and li-poly cells for over 5 years. Here is his answer:<I>There is no difference between 3.6V and 3.7V cells. The reasons why people say 3.6V in one case and 3.7V in other cases are due to discharge rate. If you discharge your lithium ion cells with 0.2C rate, the middle point voltage of the cells is 3.7V. If you discharge your lithium ion cells with 2C rate, the middle point voltage of the cells is 3.6V or even lower. The middle point voltage of a lithium ion cells, including Polymer Lithium ion Cells, is between 3.6V and 3.7V, variable upon discharging rate.</I>In other words, it is mostly marketing hype. Now the modern cells tend to keep their voltage higher during discharge than the old ones, so a marketing person could easily say "this makes the average higher, so let's call it a 3.7 volt cell."But why stop there? Why not rate the voltage as the peak voltage and get the jump on everybody? "It's a 4.2 volt cell, demand nothing less!"So don't get caught up with the hype when selecting a batteryMessage Edited by RobertoV05 on 0--2006 2:37 AM

  • No power after firmware upgrade on nomad jukebox zen xtra

I have the nomad jukebox zen xtra 30gig that froze up over a year ago after i tried to install the firmware upgrade. After the unsuccessful attempt, the mp3 player stopped working.... I mean no power at all. I've changed the battery and recharged the battery from an outside source...still no luck. I can't even try any of the suggestions anyone gives on this site because I have no power.Does anyone have this problem? More important, does anyone have this problem and know of a solution?I've already set my pc back to wmp 0, I have the firmware on the desktop waiting. Now all I need is some power on this unit so that i can try some of the suggestions that seems to be working for people. Thank you

I have the same problem too, but my unit is a?Creative Normad Junebox Zen Xtra 40GB. I was trying to find a solution to my problem when I read about your problem. I have pressed the reset button, on / off switch, removed the battery, reinstalled the battery, and nothing seems to work. I was hoping you?might get a solution to this problem, so that I might be able to fix my MP3 player. If I hear of a solution, I will let you know, thanks for sharing. Issue:? While updating the firmware to the Zen Xtra 40 GB, the unit powered down and?has never came on again. There seems to be no real reason why the unit should not power up. • How do I get out of warranty repair on Zen Xtra 6

I installed Windows Media Player and it informed me my driver was out of date. I clicked on their link and downloaded the new driver and "Play for Sure" os update. When I applied the OS update, it stopped after the first time it said my Zen was rebooting. I had waited 6 hours as it said it could take some time to complete. Now it goes to the resuce mode. I've tried disk clean up, format the disk, and delete the os then tried to flash up OS. The computer says the device is not connected despite it showing up in "my computer". I emailed Tech Support and, being very helpful, they said it is outside warranty. I responded fine, how do I send it in for out of warranty repair. They replied to call Customer Service. Now there is a misnomer if I ever heard of it. I called the 800 number. The nice lady said she could sell me a new player but I'd have to call 405-742-6622 fpr tech support. So I call the number and listen to their blurb about visiting to the website which has *NO* reference on how to obtain out of warranty repair. Then the phone menu determines I am out of 60 day complimentary support but I can get a tutor session for $2.99?I know how to use the player, I've used it for a couple years. What I needed to know was how to send it in for out of warranty repair. Back to the 800 number. Woman will help me buy a new player but says there is no way to obtain repair out of warranty but I can pay for a tutor session. I've searched the knowledge base and forums here. I see this question asked before and it seems like no one has gotten an answer. Can anyone please tell me how to get out of the Twilight Zone of Awful Customer Service and reach someone who can tell me how to get it repaired out of warranty?Or am I doomed to write off my $600 Zen Xtra as a useless paperweight?I have an Archos AV500 which needed out of warranty repair and it took me less than 5 minutes on one phone call to make the arrangements...

Did you download the PC version? There is no DOS in OSX.
Look for the Mac version of AutoCAD.
