ZenAgent Reboots During Imaging After Upgrade
Went from 11.2.3a > 11.3 > 11.3.1 > 11.3.1 FRU1
Zenworks is rebooting during application installs during imaging now. Here is the message: "Your system is being restarted to finish applying the Zenworks configuration changes that have occurred."
I found this article, but it doesn't apply to this version: https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7009609
How can I prevent the restart from happening?
Nzorn,
then I'd say it would be worth opening a Support incident with us at ENGL, then I can take a look at the logs... if it turns out to be a Novell issue, then we can bring the conversation back here...
I'd want a debug zim.log https://www.engl.co.uk/kb/tid-2006018.htm and possiblt with the imaging codes as well https://www.engl.co.uk/kb/tid-2011007.htm

Why is aperture 3.4 crashing during import after upgrade?
After running a typical upgrade from Software update on my mac I have had the problem of importing files into Aperture.
Exactly what happened and equipment used. Used SD 45mbs 16gb SD card to import RAW images after a shoot. This has been working and tested the day before update. Was prompted to update to Aperture 3.4 along with another update for OSX. After reboot I launched Aperture and was prompted to update library. Next SD card was inserted, pictures showed up as previews, all were selected and checked to import all. Application crashes see below.
What I have tired.
removed application
removed preference files
reinstalled application
was prompted for upgrade of library
once done inserted SD to import files
Same issue files show up but they do not import and same report comes up
have attempted multiple SD cards with no resolve.
Able to use disk on another computer with no issue.
Someone please helpWhat Aperture version are you running exactly? Aperture 3.4 or 3.4.1? The 3.4.1 update has some important bug fixes. If you did not install the last update, I'd recommend to update.
Some posters had problems with the image capture preferences, after upgrading to 3.4, and that caused troubles during import. Try if removing the image capture preference files helps:
To remove the image capture preferences:
If Aperture is running, quit Aperture, and log off and on again.
Open your user library from the Finder's Go menu: Hit Command Shift G (⌘⇧G) and then type in: ~/Library/Preferences/ then hit return.
In the window that opens remove "com.apple.ImageCapture.plist"
and look into the subfolder "ByHost": if there are files named com.apple.ImageCapture something.plist remove them too.
then try again.

Blurred low res images after upgrade, no export, READ DON'T UPGRADE
Hello, I am Pro photographer, I mainly have used iPhoto for family stuff. After upgrading from 09 to 11 ALL my images seem to be blured as if they were only the reference thumbnail. Trying to export the images to my Desktop to see what is going on iPhoto just hang and then crashes.
I've just lost nearly 10 years of family pictures? come on Apple this is like a early Alpha.I have now upgraded three different machine with different iPhoto databases and have not had any issue with the clarity of the photos. I suspect that something happened to your photos during the conversion process.
I suggest you go back to your original iPhoto library and do a new conversion with iPhoto '11 to see if you get a better result as no one else has reported this issue. -

I have just installed Arch on a new computer. It works fine until I upgrade to Kernel 2.6.39. After that it hangs on boot.

Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.I have been trying to isolate the problem a little further. I re-installed (with just the base and sudo) and after upgrading pacman rebooted and it worked without fail. Then I installed libusb and libusb-compat which where required when I tried to upgrade just the kernel using
pacman -S kernel26
which initially failed because of the missing dependencies libusb and libusb-compat. I then re-booted and that worked without a problem.
I then upgraded to Kernel 2.6.39 using the above command and then it hung on rebooting. I saved the logs at each stage.
The additional logs in errors.log in the reboot that failed are as follows.

No images after upgrading to MX7
After upgrading to ColdFusion MX7 I noticed my exisitng .cfm
pages are no longer displaying images on the local testing server.
I did see that I had the old CFusionMX and a newer CFusionMX7
folder. I moved all my files from the CFusionMX folder to
CFusionMX7 folder using the same file structure for images. Nothing
else changed however when I launch the web pages I get red x marks.
I did update my site data to match the new folder locations. And
even duoble checked my image paths. Any Ideas ?I did see that I had the old CFusionMX and a newer CFusionMX7
folder.
That could mean that you didn't completely uninstall the old
version of Coldfusion before installing MX7. You might have copied
old system settings that affect images or path. Alternatively,
there may still be places where you have to change
CFusionMX into
CFusionMX7. -
3GS reboots during calls after os4 upgrade
This is a bit different from screens staying black at the end of a call that I've seen mentioned.
Every call I make, after about 3 minutes the phone turns off and reboots. This would be a great moneysaving feature if was on Pay As You Talk! But I now can't use the phone for calls and have to warn people who call me that we'll get cut offI too am seeing this. I'm on o2. This isn't happening for every call and this hasn't been happening for me consistently. Also, this can happen at any point in a call, I've been on a call for 1/2 hour before it resets.
Possibly this might happen when I get to a point of bad reception. -
Safari won't load some images (after upgrade to Mavericks from Lion)
Hi,
I've noticed that since I upgraded my OS from Lion to Mavericks, Safari won't load all images on certain websites.
I've tried loading the same pages on my daughter's MacBookPro (she upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks) and everything works just fine.
We cross checked the Safari preferences and everything is identical.
Below are two pictures, the first one taken from my computer, the second one from my daughter's. As you can see, in the first photo the image won't display, while it's been perfectly loaded in the second photo.
Here's the website: http://blog.alice.tv/berengario/2013/11/16/trasmissione-su-arturo-tv/
I've tried opening the same page on Firefox, and all images are perfectly displayed.
Could you please help me?
Thank you for your support!
Kind regards,
LeoPlease read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
Problems unmounting/ejecting a disk image after upgrade to 10.4.9
Since I upgraded to 10.4.9 I have the following problem:
After viewing a slideshow of pictures located in a disk image I cannot unmount/eject this image. I receive an error message that the image cannot be deactivated/ejected as some file is still in use.
Using the activity monitor I checked which files are in use by the Finder and found out that the last picture shown by slideshow is still referenced.
To me it seems as if the upgrade from 10.4.8 to 10.4.9 either changed the behaviour of slideshow (which does not close all files when terminated) or the eject image function (which does not force all open files in the image being closed).
The only bypasses I found so far are
- using "umount -f" on Unix level (think I have to be an admin for that)
or
- logging off and on again / restarting the computer
Has anybody got other ideas how to force the unmount without using native UNIX commands in a terminal window?
Can someone tell me how I can report this bug to apple? On Apple's support pages I could not find any information on that.
Thanks in advance for any helpful hints.
iMac 20" intel Mac OS X (10.4.9)The "Dock" contextual menu item to "Relaunch" the "Finder" is the equivalent of a "Force Quit", which is quite different from a regular "Quit".
Unless it is being unresponsive to a normal "Quit" signal, force quitting any application is not recommended because unsaved changes will be lost. In the case of the "Finder", any sort of file transfers in progress will be interrupted. Data loss may also occur if a file containing "comments" has been moved at some point earlier in the login session.
A normal "Quit", such as what occurs when logging out, quitting through the menu, using AppleScript or the "Quit" option of "Activity Monitor.app" ensures that the app quits in an orderly manner. -
24" iMac has buzzing sound every 5 min during sleep after upgrading to is x lion
I have a 24" iMac purchased new in 2009. Haven't had a problem and usually put it to sleep mode at night with no problem. I recently upgraded to OS X Lion and started noticing 2 problems during sleep mode. One is a constant humming noise that wasn't there before, as if the computer is still running. Second problem is that every 5 to 10 min or so, a slight buzzing sound pops up.
The noise poses as a real problem during the night as I have the iMac in my bedroom. I'm forced to completely shut down very evening to avoid the noise. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.I have a similar problem on my early 2008 macbook pro. After the audio driver is idle for a minute or so (after an itunes playlist or youtube video ends) the headphone jack output starts buzzing horribly, to the point where i have to turn off my soundsystem or play a muted song to “wake up“ the card and stop the buzzing. This must be due to different power management parameters in Lion, as it started immediately after the upgrade and disappeared after I reformatted and returned to Snow Leopard. Maybe there is a way to force the audio hardware to stay active?

AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Bad Image after upgrading iTunes on Windows 7
The Apple update notifier alerted me a new version of iTunes was available which I installed. The system crashed during installation. Upon reboot the system wouldn't recognize the hard drive. Had to completely shut down and restart the system. Now everytime it starts up, I see an error message titled AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Bad Image with the the following description: F:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\YSFileShim.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. When I try to start iTunes i receive a similar error: iTunes: iTunes.exe - Bad Image... iTunesMobileDevice.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Help!
Try deleting the offending file. If it will not delete, try renaming the file or containing folder.
Then do a Repair install on Apple Mobile Device Support, hopefully this will replace the damaged file with a good one.
AMDS should be listed wherever you Install/Uninstall programs in Windows 7. -
AP's keep on downloading new image after upgrading wlc

Actually I don't know what to do now. Maybe strange is that when I upgrade 7.0.220 software to 7.3.112.0 the wlc hangs after a while and I have to unplug power. Then after reconnecting the power, the unit has the new release.
Reason for the upgrade is.... Windows 8 clients cannot establish a wireless connection! It seems that this issue is resolved at least in the version I try to put on it.

Pattern of vertical bars appearing in images after upgrade to cc 2014
Many of my psd files show a pattern of vertical bars after my upgrade to PS CC 2014. They show up all over images, not just in solid or dark areas as in this example. Any suggestions?
ThanksPlease note transcript of chat session with Apple support, below:

Cynthia:
Thanks for contacting AppleCare chat support. My name is Cynthia, and I'm a Senior Advisor. How can I help you?
Cynthia:
Hello Peter, how are you today?
Peter:
I was told to contact Apple about a problem that Adobe says is being caused by "bugs" in my GPU hardware which is causing horizontal and vertical banding when editing masks in the latest version of Photoshop 2014.
Cynthia:
Thank you for your patience!
Peter:
Okay...
Cynthia:
I am sorry to hear you are having issues with the Adobe. Do you mind if I ask a few more questions for clarification?
Peter:
No, go ahead..
Cynthia:
Are you chatting from the computer with the issue?
Peter:
Yes
Cynthia:
Are you only getting that message when working with Photoshop or with other applications as well?
Peter:
The problem is also showing up in the latest version of Adobe's Lightroom in images that are saved from Photoshop. The distortion is different there. It never happened with the previous versions of either LR, or PS.
Cynthia:
What OS X do you have and have you recently upgraded? Did it work in previous versions of OS X?
Peter:
10.9.3, and yes it worked in the last version(s).
Cynthia:
Are you using upgraded versions of Lightroom and Photoshop? You stated is did not happen in previous versions.
Peter:
Yes, upgraded versions and it never happened with the previous versions.
Cynthia:
Thank you. That helps to narrow it down! It sounds like a compatibility issue. Have you spoke with Adobe about this?
Peter:
Yes, and their lead Photoshop engineer emphatically stated it is a problem with the GPU hardware on the 2013 Mac Pro. Others have written in with the same problem, again, only on the latest Mac Pro.
Cynthia:
I would like to see what I can find on this and once again, I am sorry to hear about this issue! Just a few more minutes, please.
Peter:
Sure..
Cynthia:
Again, thank you for your patience. I have found information on the issue you described from the Adobe support site blogs. They have listed a fix for the issue till a permanent one is found. This is an issue that Adobe will need to fix in their application. For support of their products, we are required by the producers to refer you to them for support. Here is the link: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2014/01/photoshop-cc-14-2-update-jdi-features-mac-proos- x-10-9-compatibility-and-notable-bug-fixes.html
Cynthia:
Are you able to access that link, Peter?
Cynthia:
My daughter also uses those applications and I thank you for bringing that to my attention!
Peter:
I have the link/article and will read it... It is referring to the last version, not the current one. I have a feeling Cris Cox from Adobe is right, that it in the end might be an Apple problem but I'll see what Adobe has to see about the article.
Cynthia:
I do understand. Please let us know what you do find out. For the moment, I have not found any other fix or work around.
Cynthia:
If you do need to get back with AppleCare, your case number for this issue is ************.
Peter:
Okay, thanks Cynthia! BTW, will I get a copy of this chat to include with my communication with Adobe?
Cynthia:
I will be happy to send that out, it will go out as soon as the chat ends. I thank you again for bringing that to my attention! -
