ZenWorks & IBM Tivoli

Hello colleagues,
I'd like to know if the events from ZenWorks for Servers can be used in
a TEC (Tivoli Enterprise Console)for monitoring my network.
I actually use the Software IBM Tivoli for monitoring my network with
UNIX, Microsoft Servers, but soon I will need to manage netware servers
with ZenWorks in my Tivoli Management Solution. I dont want to manage
two differents platforms of server monitorization, I prefer only one if
possible.
Do you have any ideas?

ZFS / ZSM does support sending SNMP traps to other consoles... that would
be the way to integrate both worlds...

I followed the steps of establishing SSO using TAM for OBIEE application.

In the above code i am trying to get the userID of a User through the header of the application's URL, who has been already been authenticated by Windows desktop Authentication mechanism .
but then i try creating a junction using TAM and access the application through the junction i still get the logon page of OBIEE application...

As you know, IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler(TWS) supports SAP R/3(Basis) jobs via the sub product known as "Tivoli Workload Scheduler for Applications"(It connects SAP system via RFC).

And it also works for the XI(ABAP side) jobs of SM36.
So, in the following scenario,
R/3(ABAP Proxy) -> XI -> File Adapter -> B2B software to Partner
Tivoli can be used for controlling the following jobs centrally.
- kick R/3 job to run ABAP Proxy program
- run commands(scripts) to kick B2B software after file is written by F/A
Actually, in our project, we didn't need TWS to control XI jobs. We needed
R/3 side and the other end(both sides of XI but not XI itself).
But in your scenario, if you need to use XI jobs(defined in SM36), of course you can call those jobs directly via TWS(but please confirm with IBM that TWS supports WAS 6.40 with Unicode!).
i think this is why "technical feasibility of using IBM Tivoli as a Master scheduler for XI. Can we leverage Tivoli to schedule XI end to end jobs".

Our client wants to monitor all the error and alerts to be sent to IBM tivoli.
IBM tivoli will be the central server to monitor SAP related errors and alerts.

Oracle Grid 10g sending alerts to IBM Tivoli TEC console

We have the Oracle Grid version 10.2.0.5 and are able to send its alerts to our e-mail server as e-mail messages. We would like to be able to sent these Oracle Alerts to the IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) version 3.9 as a TEC event. How can we do this. Does it require specific "TEC Web Service" software for the 2 systems to communicate, or do we need a Management Connector to get this done. We need some direction. Also, if you know of some documentation or case studies or other sights who have done this before, please let us know.

SSL communication with IBM Tivoli 5.2

Hi,
I have downloaded the free version of the IBM Tivoli 5.22 directory server. Its installed great and I can connect and query the sample data using port 389.
I am working on enabling SSL communication with the same.
I referred to

Followed the steps provided to enable SSL communication, it gave me errors saying that the password for the key database file was incorrect.
Has anyone try to connect to the IBM Tivoli Directory server via SSL, is there a way to do it in the same way as we set up ssl with Active Directory.
Any help in this regard would be great,

Hey ,
I got SSL enalbed on the Tivoli server. I follwed the instructions availabe on the IBM site to set up the GSKIT and create the key database , the certificates and also the setting up the server to use them. I used self signed certificates.
For setting up the server I used the command line utilities.
The ldapsearch command always failed it kept saying bad password. So I took the certificate file that created added it to the cacerts of the java client and then communicated with the server on port 636.
It worked great.

Oracle Apex - SSO with IBM Tivoli Access Manager WebSeal - filters out Files with Server Error 500

We are using IBM Tivoli Access Manager for SSO to authenticate users to access our APEX application. The authentication works but...
When the application is being accessed with the WebSeal JS/CSS files are randomly not loaded and show up with either HTTP 400 or HTTP 500 error in the FF Toolbar Console. Of course without certain CSS / JS files the application can't be used by the user.
If the application is accessed without WebSeal all files are loaded successful.
Our set up:
There are two APEX Applications using the WebSeal - the first one apparently works
Apex Listener on Tomcat7.0
Apex 4.2.6
We tried all kind of different WebSeal configurations but nothing worked so far.
I found the following:
interactive report problem with SSO
==> Does anyone know how to use mapping tables and does it help?
Interactive report javascript error due to proxy
==> The solution is for EPG but we use Tomcat as Listener so the solution does not apply

I have same issue with Apex 4.2.6 and Webseal, but only on Mobile Application. Desktop Application is ok.
I have raise a SR on supportweb, but SR engineer tell me it's may be the Webseal issue, they can't reproduce it with Oracle Access Manger.
It's really a tough issue.

EM integration with IBM Tivoli TEC?

Hi. Has anyone integrated EM 9/10 with IBM's Tivoli TEC enterprise alerting/monitoring/ticketing system? We use EM for our Oracle monitoring, etc, but need to pass our alerts to our corporate call centre with uses Tivoli to manage the rest of the enterprise.
I assume we need to exploit the snmp messaging in some way, but if anyone has any experience of this and/or could point me in the direction of any documentation/case studied I'd be very grateful...

I created a trigger on the table where the events enter OMS (SMP_VDE_EVENT_TARGET_DETAILS) and let that trigger call a procedure i created in c that puts the alert in the syslog.
Then we have the tec logfileadapter report that back.
In 10g it should be much simpler. You can create a shellscript that will run when the event triggers; In the shell you have a number of env vars, which you can use.

Is it possible to Integrate IBM Tivoli Access Manager with EBS R12.1.3 ?

We have a requirment to integrate IBM TAM with oracle EBS R12.1.3. We already had such setup with TAM5.1 with oracle EBS 11.5.0. Now we try to replicate setup using R12.1.3 and end up with failures.
- TAM login is unable to bypass the oracle EBS 12.1.3 page (Webseal landing page marks to /OA_HTML/Rf.jsp in R12 and 11i has /OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp) which normally gives the home page in 11i.
- I can see EBS is not accepting the TAM post call completly.
Can somebody please throw some light on this.

Thanks for the reply. There is no error message as such. TAM Page just route it to apps login page.
I've reviewed above MOS notes. But in our case, we are not using any form services. Just HTTP and oacore services are running in application node.

Haven't used Tivoli but it's probably safe to assume that scheduler is capable of triggering a batch file or a command line. If so, then there are several 3rd-party Crystal Report Managers (see list at: http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html) that can be called via a command line.

Problem regarding accessing values from IBM Tivoli Directory Server

But the problem is when retrieving userPassword attribute value.
Actually when i enter the userid and password in an html page and try to retrieve the corresponding user information from ITDS then it gives me exception

Send Solution Manager monitor data to ITM (IBM Tivoli Manager)

Hi all,
I've recently installed a SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 system in order to replace the old Solution Manager 7.0 system. The old system was (also) used for (CCMS) monitoring. A subset of the gathered data was sent to ITM (company policy and mandatory). With SolMan 7.1 SAP has drastically changed the way they monitor. CCMS/RZ20 (agent based) is no longer used (although it is still possible).
In the TX /nSOLMAN_SETUP I've done the "System Preparation", "Basic Configuration", "Managed System Configuration" and "Technical monitoring", installed the CA Wily introscope EM, Bytecode agents etc. I can see monitoring data in my Solution Manager system.
My question now is, how can I get (a subset of my) monitoring data from my Solution Manager system into ITM? How can I select only the for ITM relevant data, for instance file system full or failed database backup?
