Zenworks Patch for Zen 3.2 and no console prompt????????

I've installed my patch for zen 3.2 on a netware 4.11 server and for
some
reason my console prompt is gone. I can still get to the console
screen buy
alt and esc and see the screen but, this is no prompt. It's like going
to a
command prompt in windows but there is not command prompt. Does
anybody know
what wrong?
thanks

  • Deskjet 710/720/810/820/1000 Series printers - Patch for 64 bit Vista and Windows 7

There is an issue with the 64 bit Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1 drivers that causes the spooler to crash with the following HP Deskjet printers:
    Deskjet 710
    Deskjet 712
    Deskjet 720
    Deskjet 722
    Deskjet 810
    Deskjet 812
    Deskjet 820
    Deskjet 822
    Deskjet 1000
The attached file contains a patch for this issue for Vista and Windows 7.
[The patch does not currently work for Windows 8 or 8.1 x64 systems.  There are some efforts to address this, if a solution is developed it will be posted here.  {Edit - I have not made any progress in getting the patch to work in Windows 8 x64.}]
First make sure the driver for the printer is installed.  If the driver has not been installed go to Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, Local Printer, choose the proper port (for USB-Parallel converters the port will likely be USB001: or perhaps USB002: ), Next, click Windows Update then choose HP for the manufacturer and select the appropriate printer.
Apply the patch as follows: Log into the computer with an administrative account.  Download the patch by clicking on this link or on the paper clip at the end of this post.  Save the patch file to your computer, then unzip it.  Next copy the three DLL files to the following directory:  %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3
Note that %windir% is a system variable that points to the location of the Windows directory. For most systems this will be C:\Windows.  You can click Start, Computer and type %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 in the address bar and it will find the right place.
This can be done from a DOS prompt if DOS is opened with the "run as administrator" command, or from explorer with a copy and paste.  Depending on your UAC settings you may need to provide confirmation.  Also allow the current files to be overwritten if prompted.
This patch is not required and should not applied to a 32 bit version of Vista or Windows 7.
Thanks to extraordinary Microsoft engineer Alan Morris for guidance for the patch.
Update - the following are more detailed installation instructions:
Download the patch from here. Now click on the file and open it, then extract the patch to some directory that is easy to find. (I use c:\temp. If this directory does not exist you can create it as follows: open the administrative DOS prompt by clicking on Start, All Programs, Accessories, then right click on CMD.EXE and select Run as Administrator. Click in the DOS box then type the following:
    MD c:\temp
    CD \temp
Now extract the patch files into the c:\temp directory (extract all, chose c:\temp as the destination).
[Update - Windows security settings may prevent these files from being used, please open Computer, type c:\temp in the address bar and then right click on each of the dll files and select Properties.  If there is a message in Properties indicating the file was downloaded from the internet and may be blocked then unblock the file before proceeding.]
Next click back in the administrative DOS prompt and type the following: (stuff in green is comments, do not type them...)
DIR *.dll (this is just to verify the files are there, it should list hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll and perhaps others.)
Net stop spooler (makes sure the files are not in use.)
Copy  hpvdb720.dll  C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this is for the Deskjet 710/712/720/722)
Copy  hpvdb820.dll  c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this covers the Deskjet 820 and 822)
    Copy  hpwm5db1.dll  c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3(this covers the Deskjet 1000)
    Net Start Spooler
    Exit
[Edit - note that these DLL files will already be in the directory.  You will get a warning asking if it is OK to overwrite the files, say "yes".]
At this point the patch is installed and ready to print.
Note that the printers here do not support USB connections, they have only parallel ports. [Edit - if your printer does have a parallel port use it, this will likely be much less problematic than using a USB-Parallel converter.]   If you use a USB-parallel converter make sure it is supported in your operating system.  The following posts are flagged with USB-parallel cables that are reported to work in Windows 7.   A driver is required for the USB-parallel converter in addition to the driver for the printer.  For supported converters this is typically supplied automatically in Windows 7.  Note:  the proper port to select for the USB-Parallel converters is often USB001:.  I have heard of some cases where the port was USB002: or LPT3: as well.  If the port you are using does not succeed (after applying the patch) try changing the port by going to Start, Devices and Printers, right click on your printer and select Printer Properties, then click on the Ports tab.

  • When will a patch for Norton tool bar and Firefox 30.00 be available.

Version 30 is incompatible with the Norton toolbar. When will a patch be available?

You message says the Norton toolbar version you have is incompatible with Firefox 30.0, not the other way.
About the only good thing with Norton is that they have had a Live update patch for their toolbar extension ready within a day of a new major Firefox release ever since Fx 5.0
Unlike with most extensions, the extensions that tie in with say a antivirus on Windows needs to be updated for each new major Firefox version .exe.

  • Can't install HP4 Patch for Zen 7

    Hello,
I'm trying to install HP4 for ZDM7 on a Netware 6.5 server with SP8. ZDM 7 with SP1 is installed on the server. When I select the server to patch I get an error :
We are unable to determine that ZENworks Desktop Management [version] is installed on [server name]. This can be caused by not having sufficient rights to the target server. Be sure that
ZENworks [version] is installed and that you have rights to administer [server name] before applying the support pack.
I have tried TID 3402203 but get the same error. What else could be the cause of this problem.

  • Need upgrade help for ZEN 3.2 and NW 5.1.

We have a Netware 5.1 network running ZfD 3.2 that spans two locations and
comprises two partitions. We want to upgrade to NW 6.5 and ZEN 7.
I have just found TID10083888 that says that ZfD 3.2 is not compatible with
    NW 6.5.
    My question is this:
What is the order in which items should be upgraded and to what interim
versions on each step? Keep in mind that each upgrade could be separated by
days or weeks, so the network needs to be functional between each upgrade.
Also, does upgrading NW or ZfD at one location affect operations at the
other? Should both locations be upgraded synchronously?
Clients are Windows 2000 and Citrix.

There's only one problem with this approach. I was told in another group
that my first NW 6.5 server should be my CA.
My CA is the main file server and the one doing the WS imports. This would
seem to necessitate a more granular approach, starting with the main file
server and upgrading it to ZfD 4.01.
    What do you think?

  • Windows patching for UCCE 7.2 and IVR

Just a general question concerning patching windows servers. We are running Windows server 2003 for our UCCE and IVR. Does everyone patch their servers when microsoft releases new patches or how is that done? Fairly new to using UCCE and IVR so I don't want to cause any issues as the system is running pretty smoothly.

How does the Cisco Impact Assessment figure into the process. It was my understanding that Cisco reviewed the Microsoft patches and then only suggested applying the ones listed in the Impact Assessment as "Impacting". Am I correct in that?

  • New cases for ZEN MP (and ZEN Micro) - and other accessor

    All,
Not sure if anyone noticed this, but there is a new case available in the US for the ZEN Micro Photo and the ZEN Micro. It's the Belkin Sport Case for ZEN Micro Photo and can be seen here:
    http://us.creative.com/products/prod...y=&product=454
Also coming very soon is going to be a leather case from Belkin for the exact same players. It's not up quite yet as we are waiting for stock still but it should be up in the next few days. I'll post when it comes up.
We also added a Belkin TuneDok for ZEN Micro/MicroPhoto: http://us.creative.com/products/prod...7&product=4535
and a Sync Adaptor for ZEN Vision:M: http://us.creative.com/products/prod...7&product=4539
    Jeremy

I think it really depends on what you are looking for. The ZM/ZMP leather case has a cover that you have to open and shut to access the controls unless you have the remote and there is only a belt loop on the back versus a clip if you want to attach it to your body. The Belkin case has an open style front but fully protected with plastic and has three options of carrying (hand strap, waist strap or removable swi'vel clip). Plus it is neoprene whereas the other case is leather.
So I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
BTW ... I have the Pdaden/Capdase leather flip case in black for my ZMP and it is fabulous for the price $24.00 shipped. Has a removable swi'vel clip and the leather is surprisingly nice quality for the price. It is a flip case, so you have to open the cover to access controls but I'm interested in the Belkin because the front is accessible.

  • Cisco Provided OS Patches for UCCX 7.0

I am getting ready to install UCCX 7.0 and patch it up (OS Disks are 2003.1.5) but for the life of me I can't find any OS patches under this area of the downloads section.  I can find a lot of UCCX patches but nothing on the OS.  Knowing that UCCM (CallManager) was windows based up until release 4.3 I went over there and found OS patches there.  My question is this:  Is there any functional difference between the MCS patches for UCCM 4.3 and any that might be elsewhere for UCCX?  I would prefer to stay with the correct MCS OS patch if there is one but honestly it makes sense that it wouldn't be.
    Opinions?

    Hello,
5 point for You Aaron, this is completely correct the patches for the OS are the same. I dont know why they are under the CUCM and not under UCCX.

  • Problems Installing FFMpegX for use with QuickTime and other software

Okay I don't know whether I should be posting this here or under the board for Using Mac OS X Panther and earlier operating systems but I used to have the FFMpegX video and audio conversion software installed on my Mac an Apple 12' PowerBook G4 but recently had a system OS reinstall when my hard disk became defective and I was unable to make repairs.
I backed up all my files but of course I couldn't back up the software I had downloaded. Was fortunately able to redownload some of my apps but this is a case where an app of mine I want back won't come back.
I download the installer and it fails to mount the disk image even on my desktop. I am running Mac OS 10.3.9 Panther -- I tried searching for an older version of ffmpegX I could download but that didn't work either. Since when is ffmpegX shareware? When I used it the software was freeware.
Anyways, it is such an essential program foir me that I would pay the fee just to get it back but I can't even download the trial software to begin with. I have tried downloading from the main website www.ffmpegX.com and a few other links I found on Google but to no alas none have seemed to work.
I have plenty of videos I like to encode and re-encode from time to time using my Mac from VOB 2 .DAT 2 AVI 2 MPEG 2 M4V (iPod format) 2 WMV 2 MOV etc and vice versa using Divx and XviD codecs I NEED FFMPEGX what can I do?
I have Mac OS 10.3.9 Panther with QuickTime 7.1.2, iTunes 6.0.5 the Apple Security Update 2006-003, Virex 7.2 virus protection software and Microsoft Office X with the latest patches for that software product and VLC Media Player. I need FFmpegX and/or (in either case actually drop the or) software for Mac OS X that allows users to convert video .DAT files from VCD to AVI.
I have Divx codec for Mac and 3ivx software with Divx Doctor II -- an AVI 2 MOV video conversion software + D Vision 3 also installed. I currently have installed Safari 1.3.2 also.
Any suggestions! Please help any way possible. I just have to get FFmegX working again.

    http://apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2 ($20). Needed for MPEG-2 conversions.

  • Is there a bash patch for PPC Tiger?

I see there are patches for (Intel) Mountain Lion and Mavericks - what about older Macs such as my G5 running Tiger?

    Version 4.3.28 here...
    http://tenfourfox.blogspot.com/2014/09/bashing-bash-one-more-time-updated.html
It looks bit intimidating at first but in reality it starts with a series of tests to see to which commands your BASH might be prone.  Given I know my Tiger hasn't been updated in this regard since Apple stopped doing updates 5 years or more ago I figure it is prone to all of them.  Once you run the first one you probably don't need to run all the others since there isn't really anything different you do in the end.
The actual process is simple and basically you are replacing two files in your computer's library with two copies of a single file you download and decompress first.  You can then run the tests a second time if you wish.  I guess that might be to make sure there isn't something else catching those commands and handling them but my computer came clean.
Everything is done in Terminal because you're working with folders that don't allow drag and drop replacement of files.  I highlighted the text in the instructions in the link above in my web browser and dragged the whole thing to a blank Text Edit document.  Although the instructions say to close all applications I kept the document window open and highlighted and dragged the individual line commands from the document to the Terminal window to save a bit of typing.
