I have ZCM 10.1 installed on SUSE. I installed Reporting. The above is the
message when I go to reporting so here I sit. I can't seem to find anything
in the documentation to configure it other than a pointer to the SAP website.
    That isn't particularly helpful.
    Any pointers or advice?

Sorry it took me so long to see this reply. I started looking at your tids
and it turns out that Reporting is not installing. All I have is the xml log
which I am having trouble understanding. I have attached it as I am not sure
    what to look for.

  • ZENworks Reporting Server & 64-bit

Hi, will it be possible, at some time, to install the ZENworks Reporting Server on a 64-bit OS? We are running right now ZCM 10.2. And when I try to install ZENworks Reporting Server with the DVD ZCM_REPORTING_10.1.0.iso all I get is an error message saying that it cannot run on a 64-bit OS.
    Thanks in advance for everything!

You need to use the 10.2 ZRS version with a 10.2 zone and this will work on 64bit as stated. One for linux and one for windows on download.novell.com.

There is no ZENworks Reporting Server configured in the Management Zone.
This shows up on a fresh install of primary server (only server) in the ZCC under reporting I did not get any errors when I installed the server. This looks like a duplicate post from some Windows users but there was not much help there for me. Is the Reporting server not part of the default install? I see no errors in the logs and not sure how to proceed.

No, as you can see here: NOVELL: Downloads - Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management SP3 (10.3) Standard there is a separate ISO for the reporting server.

  • ZENworks Reporting Server Install Problems

I am trying to install ZRS onto my SLES10SP1 ZCM10.1 server. The database is on MS SQL 2005 Standard Edition. According to the documentation for 10.1 this is supposed to work. Attached is the log file for the installation.
Any suggestions from the many experts? Jared - I talked to you about this (only on 10.0.3.2 with a Sybase DB) at the KC-NUG meeting.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pat.

  • Reporting Server Installation Compatibility

    Hi,
I've completed the construction of an OES 11 SP1/SLES 11 SP2 server with ZENworks 11 SP2, Updated to 11.2.1/11.2.2 via the manual update method. I'm preparing to install the ZENworks Reporting Server, but I'm hesitant due to the fact that the ZEN Reporting Server 11.2 installation guide tells me that the requirements to install the reporting software stop at SLES 11 SP1 (well, that coupled with the fact that the installation media is named "ZENworks11SP1_Reporting_Lin", which doesn't sound like SP2) .
I've initially launched the installation process via setup.sh, but I'm receiving input/output errors when executing the command. The exact error is: "/media/iso/Install/Disk1/InstData/Linux/VM/install.bin: /media/iso/Install/Disk1/InstData/Linux/VM/install.bin: Input/Output error". I will download the iso again and double check the md5sum to be sure of the integrity of the download.
The most important set of questions I'd like to ask are: (1) Is this version of the reporting software incompatible with the environment I've built? (2) If the answer to (1) is "yes", when will Novell be releasing a compatible version for this environment?
Of course, if anyone has seen the error I mentioned earlier and would like to save me some time downloading another copy, I'd be happy to listen to your experience and potential solution.
    Thanks,
    Elliott

Yes, the SP1 ZRS works with ZCM 11.2. It's kinda dumb with the naming, but that's what you do/use/install.
But I've not tried on an OES11 SP1 server, just on plain SLES11 SP1 at the time.

  • Installing Reporting Server - How to?

    Hi,
I have a couple of questions regarding installing a ZENworks reporting server:
I currently have 2 primary servers (I am using ZCM 11.1a) in my environment with no sattalites.
    1. Where do I get the installation Media?
    2. Where are the installation instruction?
    3. Will this be a primary server in my zone? If so is there a way to prevent data replication on it?
    4. Will this server add additional load on my environment?
    5. Anything else I should know?
    Thanks

#1 - It's a Separate ISO available where you downloaded the 11.1 Media.
    #2 -
    http://www.novell.com/documentation/.../bookinfo.html
#3 - Yes, it must be a primary server
#4 - This should not create any added load beyond the load any report
    queries place on the database.
#5 - It's best to place on the a server other than the 1st server in the
    zone.

  • ZCM 11.2 reporting server won't install

    Hello,
A couple months ago I upgraded to ZCM 11.2 (from 11.0) on SLES 11 SP1. Now I am attempting to upgrade the reporting server. I initially ran the install (setup.sh) and it told me ZRS was alrady installed. So I ran zrsuninstall.sh and that took quite a while (several hours) but said it completed successfully. Then I reran the 11.1 reporting server install and it says begins to install but goes very quickly and then tells me it needs to restarte services. after that it says it has failed to install. If I check /opt/novell/zenworks/share/boe the folder is empty except for a reportinguninstall.sh file. so it looks like files are not being copied correctly.
I wonder if the uninstall didn't come off clean and thats causing problems? is there a way to cleanup this mess and start from scratch? This is my primary and only ZCM server.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

  • ZENworks Reporting Java Infoview error

We are getting an error when trying to launch our reporting server. It was working properly about 2 weeks ago, but we hadn't tried it since until now. I have tried restarting all the zen services and the whole server, recreating the super admin accounts, and manually starting BobjEnterprise120 from the /etc/init.d directory. We are runing ZCM 10.2. attached is the exception output of the zcc.log.
Thank you for any other suggestions.

The firewall on our server is disabled. Is there anyway to see what process is causing the conflict on the start port? I have looked in the output of netstat and i'm not seeing anything listen on the 6400 port. Any other thoughts? We were really hoping to leverage the reporting server feature of Zenworks.

The error message is as followed
A database error occured. The database error text is: The server version is not supported. The target server must be SQL server 2000 or later.. (WIS 10901).
I have re-installed the reporting server as suggested by NTS but the issue still remains.

    Hi Craig Wilson,
Thanks for your reply, I guess we specify the DB server address and port detail in /opt/novell/zenworks/share/boe/bobje/odbc.ini file, but in my configuration file there is nothing related to that. Will that be the reason for this problem?

Are Dynamic Ports Disabled on your SQL Server for the DB?
Taking a Trace from the Reporting Server, Do you see SQL requests being
sent to your DB Server? (Maybe its using an incorrect address for some
    reason.)

  • Last Full Refresh without Reporting Server

    Hi,
    system: zenworks 11.2.3 + sles 112 p2
We cannot find a "Last Full Refresh" attribut in custom reports.
Is there any way to get a list of all devices with their last full refresh?
    We have no report server.
    thx,

    Susehoush,
don't know, but it's certainly possible with a reporting server...

  • Cannot install Reporting Server 11.1a

    Zenworks 10.3 - 11.1a
The documentation states that it will decommission my current reporting server. This does not appear to happen. I get an error message after it finds my current reporting server that says:
ZENworks 11.1.0.12959 Reporting Server has been installed on this device. You must uninstall it before proceeding with the installation. I definitely do not have a 11.1 reporting server.
How can I force this uninstall?

Just to be clear.... you are still running on 10.3 on all your primaries?
What does your ZCM setup look like and which OS'es?
