ZENWSbrowser or C1 - Remote Control on a terminal server

When launching ZENWSBrowser or C1 Remote Control on a terminal server Step 1
I login as user "A" and am able to successfully Remote Control, View, ETC...
any workstation. But while user "A" is logged in to the terminal server,
User "B" or any Other user that logs into the Terminal Server and tries to
remote control, after selecting the WS then selecting Remote Control, View,
ETC... this user "B" gets nothing however User "A" who is still logged in
gets User "B" requested remote control session. Any Ideas?

I could write a small wrapper that killed Java.exe when Desktop4.exe was
launched.
I don't know if that would help you.
If you want me to do that, drop me at note at my email craig_d_wilson at
yahoo.
It would take me all of about 5 minutes.

  • Remoted control a Struts web server

Not sure where is the correct forum for this question.
Can URL or URLConnection class remoted control a Struts web server?
If a user input "http://localhost:8080/project/computation.do?para=3" in the browser, then press "Enter" key on the keyboard, the Struts application will perform a series of computation.
Now I am implement an stand-alone application on the client side to give Web Server the instrution to perform the same computation. I donot want to fetch any page from the server.
    URL url = new URL("http://localhost:8080/project/computation.do");
    URLConnection con = url.openConnection();
    con.setDoOutput(true);
    OutputStreamWriter wr = new OutputStreamWriter(con.getOutputStream());
    String data = URLEncoder.encode("para", "UTF-8") + "=" + URLEncoder.encode("3", "UTF-8");
    wr.write(data);
    wr.flush();
    con.coneect();
The Server didnot do anything after running this piece of code.
Can anyone help, thanks very much.

    Sorry, please ignore my message,
the code is correct. There is a spelling error in the server code.

  • Remote control in a W2012 server R2 in workgroup

    Hello,
In order to meet the needs of a client,
    we set up a server 2012 R2
in workgroup with the service remote desktop.
We installed the role through the installation of
    basic roles and non scenarios
    (available only in domain).
However, the remote control doesn't work.
We suddenly tried to export the
    console TSAdmin on a 2008
to a 2012 (by changing a few rules
in the register as well as copying a few
files from a windows server 2008)
this work well, nevertheless remote control
    returns me "Access is Denied".
Do you have a solution to operate the
    remote control on a 2012 R2 server
    in a workgroup ?
    Thanks
ps : sorry for my bad english, if you don't understand me i can explain more.

If you're only trying to enable remote desktop on the server to enable administration of the server then you don't need to install the remote desktop role. The Remote Desktop Role is used when you want to enable terminal services, to allow multiple users
to connect to the server and use it using their own domain login details (eg running their applications on the server rather than on their local machine).
For remote administration, all you need to do it open an explorer window, right click on "This PC", select Properties, and then in the window that opens, click "Remote settings" on the left hand side. Click the option for "Allow remote connections to this
computer" and then click Select Users... to set which users are allowed to connect to the server. You'll find that administrator is already enabled by default, so if you're only going to be logging in as administrator then you don't need to add any other users.

  • Remote-control of a Mac server from Windows

What is the Apple recommended way to logging into a Mac Server from a Windows PC so that I can manage it? I have an iMac on my desk but that's for creating/testing images. My main PC is an HP laptop running Windows 7. I've got Real VNC setup but the number of times it just stops working and I have to reconnect is not funny. Logging in is a chore, too. 1st password to control screen, then login to server, VNC gets kicked out during screen refresh, have to enter 1st password again to get back in.
Is there an official RDP program like Windows has for managing Windows servers?

    Hi
+"What is the Apple recommended way to logging into a Mac Server from a Windows PC"+
AFAIK there isn't one? Why would there be? Putting the shoe on the other foot Microsoft offers RDC for mac to control PCs. I don't see anything on the site stating it's the 'recommended' way?
+"Is there an official RDP program like Windows has for managing Windows servers?"+
Yes. It's called Apple Remote Desktop. You can't install it on a PC. Since 10.5 VNC Server and Client are 'built-in' for Server and Client OS as you already know. The protocol is actually VNC. RDP is Microsoft's proprietary name for it.
I've never had problems controlling any mac (server or client) using TightVNC, RealVNC or UltraVNC - there are others you could use and experiment with? Depending on the Windows OS and network environment you may have to experiment with all three before settling on one that works consistently. Perhaps the problems you're having are due to a misconfiguration? On the mac side enable Remote Management - not Screen Sharing. Go into the VNC options and enable the "Control Screen with Password Setting". Create a password but don't make it the same as the Administrator one.
AFAIK the logging in behaviour you describe is normal in my experience. I've not found it a chore on either a platform.
    HTH?

  • PXE Boot a client to connect to a Remote Desktop Session Host/Terminal Server Farm via SCCM 2007

    Hi all,
we've got a bunch of old desktops which are destined for disposal but i was wondering if we couldn't use them as disk-free clients to connect to our Remote Desktop farm. I did some digging and have managed to put together an iso which will boot
the machine into WinPE and then connect to our farm. However, since it's an iso i have to use either a cd or usb for this to work. (This is pretty much what i did: http://www.iammacgyver.com/2011/02/easy-rdp-60-from-winpe-30-simple-boot.html)
What i want to do is to advertise the boot.wim to the client via SCCM so that it boots via PXE and then picks up the WinPE image and connect to the RD farm. I've imported the boot.wim file into SCCM under Boot Images and created an empty Task Sequence
with the boot.wim as its Boot Image. I then advertised this Task Sequence to a collection which contains the old desktop clients. The machine PXE boots ok and loads up WinPE but rather than launch a remote desktop connection, it trundles through the normal
WinPE stages and once it's finished 'Preparing Network Connections' it simply ends and the client reboots.
Is what i'm trying actually possible?
Can anyone tell me why the ISO works yet pushing the boot.wim out as a Boot Image doesn't? I know the boot.wim file (which is the same one present in the ISO) is ok since the client boots into WinPE fine when PXE booted so why doesn't the remote
desktop session conenction launch? How is booting from the ISO different from booting from the PXE boot.wim file?
Slightly long winded problem so many thanks in advance to anyone who can pass some info my way!

It doesn't work because importing it into ConfigMgr injects binaries and the task sequence engine along with the process to launch the engine thus suppressing whatever you've got configured.
Perhaps you could use a pre start command (pre-execution hook in 2007 parlance) to launch your RDP process though.

  • Terminal Server Session Management: why do we need a rdp session to take control of a terminal session?

    Hi all,
As title, I have this question: why do we need a rdp session to take remote control of a terminal server session?
I copied tsadmin and related file to a windows 8.1 pc and I'm able to see for every terminal server the list of users logged in, but the option "take control" is greyed out... why? is not possible to avoid this block?
    Thanks in advance
    Davide

    Hello, Davide_ita.
Also tried to use RDSM to "Remote Control" user's sessions, but in this thread
    Remote Control
with Remote Desktop Services Manager - error Access is denied (Windows Server 2012 R2)
I get the recommendation to use RDP or Remote Assistance.
    The quote of
    TP []:
    Hi,
You cannot remote control a session on a 2012 R2 RDSH server using Remote Desktop Services Manager.  You need to use the RDP 8.1 mstsc.exe or the RDS gui in Server Manager on 2012 R2.  The command you would use with the RDP 8.1 client would be
    this:
    mstsc /shadow:<sessionid> /control
    -TP

  • How do I remote control a user in remote desktop services in Windows Server 2012?

    Hello,
we currently operate in a 2008 R2 environment with the majority of clients connecting to our terminal servers.  We use the remote control feature in terminal services manager to connect to a users session when a user phones our helpdesk with
    a question / issue.
Just today I've installed 2012 server on a hyper-v virtual machine to have a play with it.  I've installed the Remote Desktop Services and noticed this remote control feature is gone.  I can still log off or send a message to a user, but I can
no longer remote control their session.
I've seen one or two other posts stating this feature has been removed completely.
    So, a couple of questions:
    1. How on earth do I "shadow" or connect to a users session now?
    2. If I have to go third party to get this functionality back, what's the best software on the market for this and does it support remote connecting of users who have their RDP session span multiple monitors? (2008 R2 doesn't)
    3. Will Microsoft ever bring this feature back? as at this stage I doubt we would move to 2012.  This is the one feature that is crucial to the day-to-day running of our helpdesk.
    Cheers.

A large percentage of our IT support business is through remote management. Most of our large enterprise customers are Terminal Server environment (now called Remote Desktop - why does Microsoft have to change EVERYTHING - how would they feel if I changed
the colour of the sky from blue to red just because I could?).
Last week, after much expense to the customer (and realising that there WOULD be some cosmetic headaches to contend with Server Management) we installed a new "Remote Desktop Server" for them and shifting them from 2003 - a big leap so we discovered.
During deployment it came as a HORRIFIC surprise that we could not remote control user's sessions!
Yes, we ARE to blame for not fully realising the cock-up Microsoft has made for us. We should have fully researched every detail of what changes they made and what they have robbed us of.
Firstly, the removal of the ability to fully manage user's sessions came as a HUGE blow!
The remaining multiple issues that followed (including the hugely cumbersome and SLOW way of accessing user's sessions and the false information that the console was reporting users logged in when they had already logged out) suddenly resulted in us decommissioning
the new 2012 installation in favour of a 2008 R2 installation.
Some may ask; Why not use "Third Party" apps to counteract the issue? Firstly; why spend MORE and why use a third party app that "is as" cumbersome to use just because of a freaking feature that Microsoft deemed a "security risk" - for G.D sake!
We have now been directed by management to convince customers that a move to 2012 is NOT recommended - good choice boss, I love you!
The question is; will Microsoft re-implement this feature and fix Server Management performance/accessibility in a future release before 2008 R2 is no longer available? Probably not - it looks like their stubbornness to forge ahead with their craze mind-set
of transforming their products into something that is now annoying millions (including their bloody push towards everything-cloud which NONE of our customers want anything to do with).
Microsoft! Get us back on to your side and take a step back, take a deep breath and listen to consumers!

  • VMM 2013 R2 Manager - Remote Control issue

    Hello Everyone,
Looks like Im having a remote control to the VMM server issue. Everytime I try to connect to console of the VM machine, I get this error:
"An authentication error has occurred Code: 0x80004005" Remote computer: servername.mydomain.com"
The VMM server has been added to our domain and I'm logged in as the Domain Admin. Is there a permissions group I might be missing or is it something else?
    Please Let me know
    Thank you
    Devon

The 'first' VMM administrator is the domain user account of the logged on user that installed VMM.
If the domain admin performed the install of VMM, then they would be the first administrator by default.  If someone else did, than that user is the first administrator and they have to add the domain admin as an SCVMM administrator within SCVMM.
Also, you cannot move an SCVMM server from one domain to another.  You will end up with broken security.  You have to re-install SCVMM.

  • Mac Client that can connect to Terminal Server Gateway

Anyone know of a Mac app that can connect to a remote computer via a Terminal Server Gateway?  The Windows version of MS Remote Desktop will do this but of course that is Windoz only.

You could try CoRD.  I don't know if it has the TS gateway option either, but it is an RDC client.

  • DLU Policy for terminal server

    Hi all
I am trying to apply a DLU policy to allow users to remotely login to a terminal server. However, I do not want the DLU policy to allow users to have remote desktop access to other workstations.
Right now I have 3 DLU policies configured
DLU Admin - Grants IT users full admin access to all devices
DLU Users - Gives employees access only to the users and power users group on the managed devices
DLU Remote - grants remote desktop access to specific users
Is there a better way to assign a remote dlu policy to a specific device?
I want to lock down the DLU to specific devices.

  • Terminal Server (2008 Standard) stops communicating randomly with printers. Have to reboot TS to temporarily fix issue.

I'm using Windows 2008 Standard, remoteApp feature to run applications at our branch offices (8 locations).   All of our printers are HP laserjet printers (mainly 4015 model).  All are setup as IP printers.  The printers at each branch
are installed locally on the terminal server using the universal PCL5 driver.  A majority of the time all works well.  However, randomly a printer will change it's status to "offline" on the terminal server.
When that happens the printer itself is fine.  Local users can print directly to the printer, and I can access the printer and print to it remotely.
From the terminal server however, it shows that printer as offline.  I can't communicate with that printer from TS or even ping that printer's IP address.  I can ping all other IP's at that branch, just not the one belonging to the printer from
TS.  From any other computer besides the TS I can ping the printer's IP
It's not always the same printer/branch that does this, and there seems to be no pattern to when or where this happens, and I have to reboot the terminal server to get it to talk to that printer again.
Any insight into this or a way to fix it without bringing the terminal server down would be appreciated.

    Hello,
    Thanks for your feedback.
Based on the situation you described, I recommend you to use a typical solution for Windows Server 2008-based Terminal Server and Networking Printing:
Connect the printers to a Printing Server located in domains.
Install the often-used printers on the client sides, using Easy Print enabled drivers on the client sides.
When the client user remotely access the Terminal Server with Printer Redirection enabled, the client printer can be redirected and work seamlessly.
Most of the community members in this forum are using this solution and the result is satisfying. This method allow the users to print with the same printers both
in local and remote sessions. For more information on Easy Print, please refer to:

  • Remote Control and error 1456

We are having a Remote control issue with more and more PC's. If they are
logged in, we can remote control them. If they have bee restarted and are
waiting to log in, then we can not remote control them. We Can use
    diagnostics on them though....
Zen 4.01 ir7 is where we are.
We are also having an issue where many times after imaging, the ISD is not
populated into windows, and gets associated with our Image PC's workstation
object. If we clear the ISD, delete both workstation objects, and reboot the
target PC, it does re-import correctly. The remote control issue does not
get fixed when this happens though....
I have seen that rmerrorlog.txt has been asked for in the past to help solve
this issue, so We are including that. Any help in resolving what we have set
    wrong is appreciated.

  • Win2k8 Remote Control Not Working With SRSS 4.2 + SRWC 2.2

    Hi there.
I have an install of Windows Server 2008 (32bit) with SRSS 4.2 & SRWC 2.2 setup. I was previously on SRSS 4.1 & SRWC 2.1 and having the same issue I am having now, which to me tells me this problem is unresolved or i'm being a total muppet. (hopefully not the last one)
Windows Terminal Server environments has this awesome remote control feature where you can login to an RDP session which is already active and take control of the session while the end user is still logged in.With Server 2003 this works perfectly fine- it's brilliant. WIth 2008 it is a nightmare. It works for a split second and then closes off. The end users session also gets locked out (not logged out) and they have to put their windows credentials in to carry on working again.
Now... I can remote control users who are logging in via Remote Desktop on Windows XP/Vista etc.. but I can't with the Sun Ray Sessions. Does the SRWC 2.2 fully compatible with RDP 6.1 or is there any information anyone can give me to point me in the right direction of resolving this issue, like I said.. Win 2k3- Works like a dream....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    - Joe.

I just realised I hadn't posted the logs from SRSS Server with the issues. I have just tried on another WIN2K8 Server which wasn't configured by myself or my company and the same symptoms occurred. See logs below:

Anyone able to help me out?

  • Cannot "Remote Control" Users in a RDP (TS) server.

So, I have a few Terminal servers (now called Remote Desktop Servers) setup and running, various Operating systems, but all 2008r2 and above.
All of them are having an issue that has cropped up over the last few months. Either in Task manger, or in the Remote Desktop Manger, I cannot right click and select "Remote Control" to see what a user sees.
As you can see the, connect and Remote control are Grayed out. Although on some of the servers, I can connect, that disconnects the user from the system.
I cannot find a setting that allows me to unlock this ability.
I am an admin, and I can provide any information that you need.
    Thanks!
Rule your day, you never know when it might be your last.

I am remoted into the server, and running the manager from the remote session.
I see the same behaviour from the console session of the server.
