Zero Configuration Networking, and it will respond.

Hi all Mac owners.
If you are reading this I think the chance is big that you know the lovely message "user does not respond". As a matter of fact it has become a standard sentence in my environment when somebody is not getting a raise.

What is going on?
Apple has developed a wireless network protocol that is so easy to install it is really "out of the box". I am not kidding, it started with rendezvous. In theory it should work magically, plug and play. Do not worry the portforwarding and other manual pain in the hand is not neccissary. The solution is comming very soon.TCP/IP networking has been deployed in many environments and has been especially successful in large networks such as those in universities, corporations, and government agencies. Operating an IP network requires specialized technical skills. For this reason, IP networking has not been especially well suited for smaller networks (such as in the home, in small businesses, for impromptu networks in conference rooms or construction sites), where capable network administration is not feasible. Currently developments in the computer industry as well as in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) hold out the promise that it will soon be possible to deploy and use IP-based hosts in environments completely lacking in administration and infrastructure. This article explains why static IP network configuration is difficult, describes the current dynamic configuration mechanisms used to overcome those difficulties, and explores a rapidly emerging new set of automatic configuration capabilities.
Fix 1.
When you start I chat and want to invite somebody activate "current iTunes track".
When the song is playing invite your friend, iTunes will force the port and iChat can access the Network.
Mac/Win, it works with me. I know that this work around is not for all not responding Macfruitcakes.

Like I said this is temporary because a software aupdate will be available very soon. Mainwhile for the ones of you that are not responding please leave your settings in default.
Try tomorrow or the day after and it works (and looks fantastic).

The specications of the hard and software must be agreed upon and well documented and communicated.
This was done by the IETF, not strickt enough checked upon yet that is understandable.
Operating system vendors with proprietary networking protocols (like Apple and Microsoft) are planning to phase out their proprietary network protocols. To do this, the IP suite must support the facilities that one finds in AppleTalk or NetBIOS.[14] This interest has added impetus to provide solutions within the IETF.
Automatic host configuration:
The facilities that are lacking are automatic host configuration and service discovery and, additionally, name resolution without name servers and zero configuration multicast address allocation.
Automatic multicast address allocation allows a host to obtain an address allocation for a multicast group for the host's own purposes. This prevents different applications from colliding, that is, using the same multicast group for different purposes. A multicast address allocation architecture[15] is being developed for allocation of global, administratively local addresses.
The list of requirements for this protocol is still under development, but it is clear that it will involve a claim-and-defend mechanism similar to IP address autoconfiguration. It is not clear whether a new address space (the zero configuration multicast address scope) is necessary.
Just as DHCP is the obvious transition mechanism from IP address autoconfiguration, multicast address dynamic allocation profile (MADCAP)[20] is the obvious protocol for making a transition from automatic to dynamic multicast address allocation.Automatic multicast address allocation
