Zero-fingerprint deployment scenario - peer review invite

School/College implementation with student BYO laptop concept.
Packaging the vApps and securing the desired sandboxing is of course a part of the project as well as having expirydates.
Delivery is another question: By website for download, using streaming features, delivery by common iFolder or whatever you might have found a solid solution ??
And on top of the applications what about filesharing ? (iFolder) and printing ? (iPrint) or any other solutions.

  • WinPE 4.0 Startup Script on a Zero Touch Deployment

    Hi,
First, the scenario im using is SCCM2012 SP1 + MDT2012 Update 1, Zero Touch deployment, started  from client, so no USB or PXE boot.
I want to run a startup command when WinPE boots.
WinPE have some ways to run startup scripts, you have to modify or include some files on your boot image to do it, please correct me if im wrong, there are some methods:
Startnet.cmd - When you update boot image on Distribution Point, SCCM adds his binaries and Startnet.cmd doest run on boot.
TSConfig.ini - Not valid for my ZeroTouch Scenario because, when computer reboots to the boot image it doesnt run. Only Media and PXE.
Unattend.xml - Not valid for my ZeroTouch Scenario because, when computer reboots to the boot image it doesnt run. Only Media and PXE.
AutoUnattend.xml - Not valid for my ZeroTouch Scenario because, when computer reboots to the boot image it doesnt run. Only Media and PXE.
WinPEshl.ini - When you update the file gets overwrited, so i cant add commands
to the file at the boot image and then update, anyways im trying to use this method because you should be able to inject the file on the boot image someway during
    the update process.
Im trying inject the file at the update distribution point process by adding it on osdinjection.xml, but the update process fails to inject OSD Binaries on the boot image.
Maybe some one know how to do it, file and directories have the correct permisions.

I also wanted to inject some startupscripts in the winPe environment. SCCM 2012 ignored the WinPEshl.ini and the startnet.cmd.
    This solved my issue ->
First I enabled powershell for the boot image and then added the script as a "Prestart Command".
Now my powershell script runs before the task sequence starts.

  • Technical Specification Peer Review Document

    Hi Team
right now i am working in a implementation project where PI system is a middleware system. here i am developing several abap related and PI related objects for that i have developed some Techincal specifications and now my requirement is to do the technical specification peer review. so I want to know more details about technical specification peer review document. Please tell me what is technical specification peer review document and why is used in detail. if possible please provide me the sample technical  specification peer review document for my reference. i request you to please explain me more details about the technical specification peer review document because i am having much knowledge and now there is a requirement for me to do technical specification peer review and update in the template, so please do provide me the sample techincal specification peer review template for my better understanding. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Raj,
I never com across Technical Specification peer review document, We develop TS for every interface which covers
    1)Bussiness reuirement
    2)Trchnical Description in deatil
    3)Bussiness Flow
4)Source and Tget data fromats description
    5)Mapping Logic
6)Which adapters are you going to use,ad you need to specify all obejcts required for this interface/developed for this interface
    whick convers SLD,ESR,ID ...
fter completion of evry interface we updates the all deatils in TS,then we need to review the same TS.if anything misses of we need to document the same.May be you need to develop one template for to note down all review comments...

  • Need of peer review software (in research)

    Hej (Swedish for Hi),
I have submitted this question to the Leopard forum, but if any administrator thinks it is more suitable in another Mac Forum, please feel free to move my post.
    NEED OF SOFTWARE
Most of the times when I submit a manuscript to a scientific journal, that journal will ask me to supply the names, addresses and email addresses of 3-4 potential peer reviewers (they will scrutinize my paper and judge its quality). I do this over and over again. Sometimes a manuscript is rejected and I am quite convinced I know who rejected the paper (although peer review is anonymous), and I might not want to recommend that person again for the very same manuscript. Sometimes I have recommended a person as a peer reviewer several times within the last months, and want to recommend someone else.
It could also be nice to have some statistics of how many times a certain person has been recommended, and for what journal. Of course this could probably be done in Excel, but perhaps there is some nice Mac-program for this (otherwise, is anyone interrested in writing one...?)
I am looking for a software that could handle the following:
    name of the reviewer
    current email
    current address
    current institution
reasons for choosing him/her as a peer reviewer
    Last time he was recommended
Number of times he/she has been recommended.
A list of all journals, dates and for what papers he has been recommended
The outcome of each submission when he/she was recommended
How would you have solved this?
    Best regards, Jonas Ludvigsson
(doing research on celiac disease, and epidemiology in general)

    Howdy Jonas (Texas for hej),
It sounds like you are looking for a simple database application. [Bento|http://store.apple.com/us/product/TW345LL/A] would probably be able to do everything you need. It is made by FileMaker.
    Best of luck.

  • About documents in the peer review

    1. What are the documents involved in the peer review of the object?
    2. is there anything called quality check list using when we are doing peer review?
    3. what is the meaning of quality check list, what do u do with the quality check list?

    Do check the following things...
    1) There are coding standards in every project. Try to check all the coding standards in the code.
    2) see that no hard coding is done in the code.
3)Pls refer to an existing transaction code if you are making a module pool program.
    4) Always test the changes.
    5) If there are If & Else in program, make sure that you simulate conditions so that each line of code is executed at least once for testing.
    6) While writing selects try to see if indexes can be used
7)Quality checklist generally means following the standards as laid out by the client.
do an extended code review and try to remove as much extra things as possible.
    Reward if useful,
    Cheers,

  • Peer reviews, coding standards and audit norms

    hi,
what is meant by peer reviews, coding standards and audit norms in development project of ABAP.
    regds:
    balakrishna.

    Hi Bala,
Peer review: The code which is written by the developer will be cross checked by one of the team member if the code fulfills the technical spec or not.
Coding Standards: In a project the client and the software service provider will have an understanding regarding naming convention of all variables, constants, internal table, select-options, etc.
Example: if it is a select-options the field should be named with the first letter S_ then you will write S_Matnr, and for variables you have to follow V_ then V_maktx.
Audit norms: Audit norms will depend on the organization so it does not have any standard answer.

  • Zero downtime deployment

Hi, was just wondering about "best practice" in terms of supporting zero-downtime deployment.
We have a cluster with N nodes that are not storage nodes, and M nodes that are storage nodes. We use java all around, and pof-serialize the objects that we store in coherence.
We want to deploy a new codebase, which requires a restart of all the processes, and it might also include changes to the objects that are being stored (ie, their serialization might be different).
The typical approach is to do a "rolling restart" of the various processes, but i fear all that synch-up coherence does might not work right with some members running an older version of code, while the ones that are restarted are running a newer version of the code.
Anybody have any experience with this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
If you change the serialisation format then a rolling restart will not work. You need to make sure that all your POF classes are evolvable - that is that they implement EvolvablePortableObject. Doing this can take a lot of effort. We do it, not for rolling restart, but to make sure clients of our system do not constantly need to upgrade their client libraries. It can be quite complicated as it is not just serialisation that you need to be aware of but even changing how methods work that get called on the server side can break evolvability, for example changing how a filter works, an aggregator works, a method return type etc.
We have looked at zero downtime rolling restarts in the past and decided they were more trouble than they were worth. In our case we have large clusters 300+ nodes so a rolling restart would take a very long time as you need to wait for the cluster to re-balance the partitions each time you stop then restart the node. We found it could take quite a few hours to do a rolling restart whereas a full deployment and reload of the data take about 90 minutes.
You would also need to be careful if your cluster sits on top of a database. If you need to make any DB changes then this will not work unless they can some how be evolvable too otherwise either the new code or old code will be incompatible with the start of the DB.
Other people may have different experiences of zero-downtime, but as I said, we just found it too much effort and just go for the normal small-amount-of-planned-downtime approach.

  • Configuring A Deployment Scenario Using Service Operations?

We imported a WSDL file from a vendor u2013 it defines a dozen or so messages.  So I created a Service Interface with several operations:
    u2022     JobService.CreateJob
    u2022     JobService.CancelJob
    u2022     JobService.ChangeJob
    u2022     Etcu2026
During design time, the operation mappings are easy to use.  The operation mappings use the interface operations u2013 for example one an IDOC to JobService.CreateJob.  However, deploying a scenario to use service operations is apparently a bit more difficult.
My receiver system has several SOAP receiver communication channels u2013 each receiver channel specifies a unique SOAP action & corresponds naturally to a service operation.  Therefore I need I need a receiver agreement that looks at BOTH the service interface AND the service operation so that I can bind it to the correct communication channel.
In the Integration Directory, the Interface Determination step only allows you to select an interface, but doesnu2019t provide the ability to specify a Service Operation.  You have the same situation in the Receiver Agreement u2013 you can name the interface, but not select a specific Service Operation.
So how do you configure a deployment scenario to take advantage of service operations?

alternate way could be as follows.
    One Receiver determination
One Interface determination with condition for derive OM and Interface
    One Sender agrmnt
    Multiple Receiver Agrmnt
    Multiple CC

  • Multi site deployment scenario

We are in the process of rolling out Lync voice in a secondary Site. The main Site already uses Lync Voice.
Our partner discussed several deployment scenarios which to me sound over-complicated and not allowing me to have the same functionality as the main site. I'm having doubts if I'm getting the full picture here. We talked about SBA/SBR, but the downside of
these is no Response Groups, which rules them out for us.
The other option was to install a new full Lync server/pool and Edge in the 2nd Site. But when I asked how external users are properly redirected to Edge-A or Edge-B, the answer didn't came. I would need to use new SIP addresses in SiteB probably,
but I really don't wanna do that.
Also, they claimed a new Lync server/pool should also be installed in a new AD domain, instead of in the current domain which already holds the pool from SiteA (AD domain is the same in A and B by the way).
A new AD domain just for Lync ? I was thinking, this can't be right. Exchange allows me to have mutiple servers in multiple sites in the same domain, why can't Lync do the same ?
So the only option that remains (according to the partner) is adding the users in SiteB to the current pool in SiteA. And having no new servers/pool at all. We would only have to install media-gateways in SiteB to get ISDN lines or SIP trunk in for the local
PSTN. But this scenario to me sounds nice only for small offices. What if my VPN from SiteA to B is down ? It's too risky.
    Any comments are much appreciated.

    Hello,
First, it seems that your partner doesn't really know Lync and I advise you to change... Even more if you have voice and multiple sites.
    1. SBA/SBS is an option but yes no redondancy on RGS and advanced Lync Feature
    2. Add another Lync pool is the option to have full Lync capability localy. After you can add Failover options with Pool Pairing as Richard told you.
    3. No need to add another sip domain or another AD/Forest for a new Lync Pool, you can just add as many pool you want on one AD/Forest. Just Lol..
    4. For the Edge, you can either share one Edge Pool for both sites (it's not mandatory to add another Edge pool) or create another Edge pool on the other site even with same SIP domain, the first connexion will go through one but after the media will go
through the one attached to the site/according the configuration you made.
    5. Only Media GW is just totally crazy (or you take the risk with WAN redondancy or other stuff).. A least look for point 1 or 2 but you come back to your first point...

  • Zero touch deployment using SCCM

    Hi,
As SCCM is called as zero touch deployment method for operating system deployment. So please help me to clear my below doubts –
How SCCM take care of backup & restore of entire HDD, if SCCM does not take care of backup & restore of entire HDD then how we can say it is zero touch deployment method?

we can use USMT tool with SCCM to decide what we need to backup. I think good planned infrastructure will always have users data on file servers rather than on user's local system. please refer below few URLs for more information:

  • AD FS Windows Server 2012 R2 - Deployment Scenario

I am deploying with following scenario, need your expert advise.
    Customer local domain
    abc.local
à AD FS servers member of local domain (ADFS1.abc.local,
ADFS2.abc.local). ADFS server farm setup with two server load balanced on F5 (sts.abc.sa),
    internal DNS Host name
    Customer External Domain
    abc.sa
à UPN Suffix Added, all users UPN suffix is changed to abc.sa, external DNS Host (sts.abc.sa)
    My Query
    1-
Do I need to change the domain suffix of server before running the Federation PowerShell command or following command will work
    Set-MsolADFSContext –Computer FQDN-OF-ADFS_SERVER
    (FQDN WITH ABC.LOCAL OR
    ABC.SA)
    2-
DO I need to run the above command on second ADFS server part of the farm) or how it works as I notice, the second server though it’s part of the ADFS farm
but not showing the ADFS MMC or responding to STS Metadata URL. Even on F5 NLB the second server is showing down. Is it normal behavior. I read somewhere the second server need to promoted to primary in case first server is unavailable. Please advise.
Adding: the common name of the certificate is sts.abc.sa

    Hi,
Do I need to change the domain suffix of server before running the Federation PowerShell command or following command will work
As far as I know, we don’t need to do that, since we can create a corresponding DNS forward lookup zone and add a host record for the ADFS server.
Name resolution requirements for ADFS-enabled Web servers
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc758073(v=WS.10).aspx
In addition, the act of creating two or more federation servers in the same network, configuring each of them to use the same Federation Service, and adding the public key of each server's token-signing
certificates to the AD FS Management snap-in creates a federation server farm.
    Quoted from article below:
When to Create a Federation Server Farm
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd807062.aspx
Since we are not very familiar with ADFS, as Mr. X mentioned, there is a dedicated ADFS forum where you can refer to if you have further questions.

  • XI 3.1 Deployment Scenarios

We currently have XIR2 SP2 using a SQL 2005 database, with the applications on one server and the database on another sever, two servers. In the XI 3.0 Deployment Planning Guide some of the scenarios for the server tier have a Framework server, which I believe should include the Input, Output, Event, and CMS servers. With the upgrade to XI 3.1 is it necessary or good practice to have a separate Framework server or have all servers (services) on one as we currently have with XIR2 SP2? What are the advantages of having a Framework server?
Also is it good practice to have a separate Web-App server running Tomcat? Would this help performance issues with XI 3.1?
    Any response would greatly appreciated.
    Mike

Unless you want to hire a consultant to examine your particular setup, requirements, and propose a solution the next best thing may be the [sizing guide|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e01588cd-c73e-2b10-018c-fe083bc6e05e] I mentioned earlier
You can always start with an all in one server and add distributed parts when you run into bottlenecks.

  • Need advice on Webserver Clustering Deployment Scenario

    Hi guys,
lets said I have a scenario here.
    - 2 webservers with reverse proxy to 2 backend appservers.
    - Mutual SSL authentication done at the 2 webservers.
    - No static or dynamic content to be serve at webserver layer.
Should I configure a cluster webserver deployment here?
I have read the doc but didn't find the answer to the below situation:
    - When HTTPS request unable to reach webserver #1 (down), will the webserver cluster auto-route the traffic to webserver #2.
Also from the doc, I find that webserver session replication benefits those who have java app on the webservers.
Not sure will it benefit the above scenario where there are no dynamic content on the webservers.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sriram,
    Thanks for the reply.
So far, I had no problem with the reverse proxy configuration.
This is really a good builtin feature of SJSWS that helps to forward traffic to backend without installing addition plugin.
Right now, my setup is 2 standalone webservers (maintain separate; yet same configs, same truststore, same SSL cert).
These 2 standalone webservers will reverse proxy all the HTTPS request to the backend appservers.
Failover support for appservers are done by pointing to a virtual hostname on a hardware loadbalancer (using RRP) which will redirect to the appserver cluster.
The portion that I had in doubt; is in a SJSWS cluster will there be a failover support for the reverse-proxy webservers?
E.g. If a HTTPS request came into the SJSWS cluster, and 1 rrp webserver happened to be down.
Will the cluster route the traffic to another rrp webserver?
And what happens if it it is in the midst of processing a HTTPS request that the rrp webserver is down?
I understand the session replication happened only after processing a request.
Not sure if session replication is applicable to my scenario since my setup only forward traffic to backend.
Lastly, I have only 2 physical rrp webservers which means 1 needs to be install with the admin server.
I presume that the other rrp webserver will still serve request even if the other rrp webserver with admin server installed is down?
Sorry for the lengthy post, I do have quite a no. of things going through my mind now.
Thanks once again to you and all the other helpful guys in this forum.

  • Deployment Scenario?

    Hi friends
Can goods receipt and invoice be created in SRM or ECC system when in Classic Scenario and ECS
    Thanks
    Regards
    Krishna

    Krishna,
There is a possibility and you can perform the invocing within the EBP system if you have maintained the distribution model for Invocing. Using the BBPIV message type you can post the invoicing in the EBPsystem itself also you have same authorisation is available in the EMPLOYEE role for performing the invoicing. So you can do following activities in the Classic scenario deployment.
    1. Shoping cart
    2. GRN (Goods Receipt)
    3. Invoicing
According to classic you can do the amendment only in the backend system which is backend document is the leading document.
Please refer the link for more detail.

  • NM-NAC + NM-WLC + ISR Deployment Scenario

    Hi,
It's apparent the NM-NAC and NM-WLC can be deployed in the same ISR, at the same time, to support the use of NAC in wired and wireless scenarios.
According to the FAQs, this type of deployment MUST use PBR to direct the traffic to the untrusted interface of the NM-NAC. Is this true?
Or is it also possible to use bridging, so that wired and wireless users are Layer-2 adjacent to the NM-NAC untrusted interface, and allow the NM-NAC in Real-IP mode, to route the data out of it's trusted interface, into the ISR, which can then route the traffic onwards as necessary?
    Thanks.
    Cheers
    Phil

I don't think I can answer that because I don't see anything out there that says "throughput is this".. It's all about simultaneous users. I did find something that referencecs the fact that the module does connect over HIMI feature which is a gig connection to the router from the service module.
