  • 802.1x Authentication has failed. Error: 1 on port en1

I have gone over and over many other posts on this today all to no avail as most discussions are specific to particular networks. Usually US universities.
    Anyway..
I have multiple MacBook Pro's on site and have been using RADIUS authentication for some time by manually installing a certificate in the system root for the local DC, and then creating an 802.1x login window profile. Recently however a couple have stopped working.
I have 2x MacBook Pros. 1 a 15" on 10.5, another a 13" on 10.6. Both have BCM43xx AirPort cards. They were originally OK until after a Mac Update, which made us believe it was the firmware version of the airport which had caused the fault.
I have however rebuilt the 10.6 client to 10.6.0 and upgraded 1 patch at a time to 10.6.4 until it reached the identical airport utility and bcm43xx firmware version as the working clients, however still to no avail. When trying to connect to teh Wireless network, i am prompted for credentials which i enter (work on another client) and it instantly rejects them, without even thinking about it. VERY LITTLE is shown in the system.log, other than the en1 starting, then stopping within a second.
I've wasted 2x days on this now and would really appreciate some assistance if anyone has any ideas. Otherwise it looks like I may be having to create a whole new SSID with WPA2 keys, rather than RADIUS and I would prefer not to do that.
    Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the suggestion and if I get no further I may look at doing this during the school holidays, however such changes to a live service has far too many implications especially if it were to cause any type of potential outage.
While doing a bit of further testing today however, I had 2x MacBooks, one known good and one that wont work, and tried to connect both using the exact same AD username and password. The resulting IAS logs on the Domain Controller showed that the working one was authenticated using PEAP (as per my remote access policy) but the one that fails is only trying to use EAP, despite being configured in exactly the same way, hence apparently being rejected when trying to connect.
Other than firmware versions, could anyone perhaps suggest why a MacBook would choose to use EAP rather than PEAP despite the 802.1x profile setup in the network preferences specifically using PEAP only?!

    Hi,
I searched for the error and it is mentioned in Ricoh's website:

“Authentication with the destination has failed. Check settings. To check the current status, press [Comm. Status/Print].”
The entered login user name or login password is not correct.
Check that the user name and password are correct.
Check that the ID and password for the destination folder are correct.
A password of 128 or more characters may not be recognized.
From the solution, it mentioned that the issue could relate to user account or its password.
Please let me know if it is in domain environment. If so, please test to log the same user account currently on Windows 7 to Windows XP and see if issue persists.
Also please test to directly access the scanning folder on printer server to see if there is any issue in accessing the destination folder.

  • ISE 1.2 - 24492 Machine authentication against AD has failed

Currently experiencing a machine authentication problem between ISE 1.2 patch 2 and a customer AD installation.
AuthZ policy is set to match agains /Users/Domain Computers and /Users Domain Users.  User authentication works, machine auth doesnt.
    Machine authentication box is ticked.
If you try to disable an AD machine, or try a machine not in the domain you get the appropriate different response in the ISE logs which sugests it has the right access into AD to check this info.
This happens on all computers, both WinXP and Win7 corporate builds.
I know its not an ISE policy configuration as I have resorted to testing the same ISE against a vanilla lab AD environment with the same AD domain name (just by changing the DNS servers ISE uses) and the computer lookup works!
    Anybody got any ideas?
    thanks.

Everytime I turn on my computer running on Windows XP, a message appears from AppleSynchNotifier.exe - Unable to Locate Component -
"This application has failed to start because CoreFoundation.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

With that one, first try uninstalling and reinstalling your MobileMe Control Panel for Windows, robin. Does that make the error go away?

  • HT1926 My itunes won't open because it says "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" Can someone help? I don't want to delete it altogether due to needing the phone backup

I was given notification to upload the latest version of itunes recently, so I clicked installed. However it has since corrupted my itunes and I get the error message:
"This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem".
In poor timing, I have also accidently damaged my phone and have a new one to restore it to an old back up.
It is because of this I am reluctant to completely delete itunes off my computer and start again for fear of losing my back ups.
Is there another way to fix iTunes so I can open it again?
    Thanks

Hey I finally got an older vesion of itunes to work!!! 10.7  x64 for windows 7
After uninstalling all apple products even  quicktime
I had to delete everything from (program files, and program  files x64, program data,)
And all downloads from apple, and I went in to search deleted  other stuff from apple, and itunes
But definently not my itunes library and Playlist
Down loaded 10.7 x64 for windows 7, but checked (do not start  when done)
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my  PC
I ran geek tech tool box same as reg cure pro, also PC Tools  registry cleaner, and CC Cleaner
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my  PC
And wallah... It finally works, and I Love the older version  anyways.
Easier to download and transfer  music!!!!!

  • This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I recently tried to download the latest version of iTunes, but an error occured during the process. It was recommended that i reinstall iTunes to attempt to correct that problem. After I attempted to reinstall, an error came up with the title "iTunes.exe - Unable to locate component." the body of the error message read "This application  has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." When I click "Ok", another error message pops-up reading "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)". I tried reinstalling iTunes 3 times now, each time with the same result. What is going wrong, and what do I need to do?

Kappy, I completely overlooked your original response due to it's small, one line nature and poor UX design of the area surrounding the message area.
Upon following the complete instructions linked from the link you posted (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US), my first attempt resulted in everything being installed except for iTunes. So trying yet again.
I do have Safari for Windows Vista installed, which is why I could not delete everything in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ folder. I'm guessing this is Apple's way of completely removing Safari Win from history (there's always an under-the-table reason when something like this happens with Apple installs, they just won't say it publicly). Uninstalling Safari. Uninstalling Safari removes the remaining "Internet" files from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
Uninstalling iCloud. Uninstalling MobileMe Control Panel that was never used. That leaves only QuickTime installed as an Apple product on my machine.
Just for the record, I did not have this folder: C:\Program Files\iPod\
    Emptied the Recycling Bin.
    Shut down and fresh start-up.
Install attempt again: results in the installer saying something interrupted it (no other programs open)
Installing again immediately after error: Success
Clearly there are issues with this installer.
A pop-up shows up with "The registry settings used by the iTunes drives for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burining software. Please reinstall iTunes"
No other CD burning software installed other than what came pre-installed by Gateway and a install of Windows Vista Pro (or whatever the top expensive one was called).
iTunes launched. iTunes Library, items like Movies & Music, and playlists are still intact and usable.
Good thing I don't have these issues on my Macs (ahem, which is why these errors are allowed to persist by Apple to discourage Microsoft/Windows/PC use and purchase, all about the money and Apple has become the non-caring giant it once sought to overthrow as the underdog, miss those days).
Thanks Kappy. Thanks for the time suck Apple.

  • HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one problem printing. Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy--

I'm having a problem printing on my HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One. The following message is what came up on the printer screen: Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy, receive faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation Error O.cl9a0007.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Hey Spider! First off welcome to the forum.
I would recommend removing all the ink cartridges, unplugging the USB cable from the computer that connects to the printer, and then shutting the printer off completely by removing the power cord. Then restart your computer. Turn the printer back on but leave it disconnected from the computer. After it has finished its power on cycle go ahead and insert the ink cartridges back into the printer and be sure to seat them properly.
After you have all the cartridges back in the printer properly then connect it to the computer. See if this resolves the issue. If not post back with any findings.
    Thanks,

    Hi ,
I am new to Labview & Matlab related Software. I am using LabView 8.20 and Matlab 6.5.1.199709 . I generated simple .dll(for adding 2 numbers) file with the help of Matlab and trying to use that dll file in Labview using "Call Library Function Node" control, then I am getting the following error.
the application has failed to start dll because libmex.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem
Could any one help on this?
    Thanks & Rgds
    naveen

    Hello Naveen,
The libmex.dll is installed by Matlab. It should ideally be located as \bin\win32. Check to make sure that this DLL is there.
Also add the path to the DLLs to "Path" system variable (On XP: Start>>Control Panel>>System>>Advanced and click Environment Variables)
    Hope this helps,
