ZFD 4.0.1 Installation in new cluster

I'm trying to install ZFD 4.0.1 into a new cluster but it keeps detecting
the installation on the old cluster. I'm migrating from NW 6 to NW 6.5 so
I have to get ZFD working on the new cluster. Is there anyway around the
detection other than shutting down the resource on the old cluster?

  • PI 7.0 Java stack config of the stand-alone server to  new cluster system

    Hi colleagues,
we have a PI installation in stand alone server (SAP with abap +
java and Oracle in the same server)
The system number of the ABAP stack is 00, and we are conecting to the
Java stack to the for example the URL
    http://hostname:50000/rep/start/index.jsp
We have installed a new PI in a MSCS and in some weeks, we´ll have to
copy the database and configuration of the stand-alone server to the
new cluster system. In the SAP PI installation on the MSCS, we have
confirmed that with the ABAP stack, we won´t have any issue because the
ASCS has the system number 00 (message server), so we only have to
install a SAP system in each nodes without care these new system
numbers because we are configuring a Logon group but the question is in
the Java stack... The SCS (service in the cluster) has the 01 system
    number...
What is the best way to keep the same URL to the Java stack that in the
    stand-alone server? (remember:
    http://hostname:50000/rep/start/index.jsp )
Have we to install a Webdispatcher in the MSCS and one Java stack in
each node of the cluster? we think that is right but we have a lot of
doubts about the URL, the files of the Java (if they are stored in
local disk in one node, how are they replicated to the second node?)
    and so on....
Could you give us any suggestion to make the "migration" from the stand-alone to a cluster in a transparent way for the users?
Thanks in advanced and kind regards !!
    Victor

    Thanks a lot.
    For information
Our central SLD is on a standalone system
However slave SLD (to ensure autonomy and HA for production XI system) will be deployed on Java separated hardware system of Xi production system.
On master SLD all systems are described and all machine are linked with it (SLDAPICUST) except production XI one
On slave SLD, all data of master one are replicated and only XI system is linked with (SLDAPICUST)

  • Unable to create a new cluster on our domain

    Hi there,
I am having difficulties creating a new server 2012 R2 failover cluster in our domain.  We have a working 2008 R2 cluster that has been running fine for years now.
I have tried on different hardward with single nodes and multiple nodes when making the cluster.  I can see the new cluster account is created in AD and I have triple checked all permissions required to create the cluster.  The resulting errors
    are:
Adding special permissions to the computer object failed. Trying to add 'Full-Access' permissions for security principal S-1-5-21-2379181152-2103701998-3253613930-1309 to computer object CN=VM-CLUSTER-1,OU=Servers,DC=HHS,DC=local failed. Verify that the
user running create cluster has permissions to update the computer object in Active Directory Domain Services. The parameter is incorrect.
An error occurred while creating the cluster and the nodes will be cleaned up. Please wait...
There was an error cleaning up the cluster nodes. Use Clear-ClusterNode to manually clean up the nodes.
An error occurred while creating the cluster.
    The parameter is incorrect
To troubleshoot cluster creation problems, run the Validate a Configuration wizard on the servers you want to cluster.
Any suggestions on what could be causing this?  My only current route of investigation is a currently missing domain controller account in AD as I assume this must be AD related.

  • Moving ESX hosts to a new cluster?

I have 6 ESX 3.5.0 systems currently divided into three 2-node clusters.
Cluster 1 is HP DL380 G6 with Xeon E5540 CPU's and is not licensed for vMotion
Cluster 2 is HP DL380 G7 with Xeon X5650 CPU's and is licensed for vMotion
Cluster 3 if HP DL380 G6 with Xeon E5520 CPU's and is licensed for vMotion
All nodes are live and in production.  Recently while enabling hyperthreading on nodes of cluster 2, the manual failovers didn't go well and we had a lot of downtime while systems fought for resources.  HA has admission control enabled and 1 host failover capacity so I'm not sure why we had such extreme problems.  Based on that issue, I'd like to create a larger cluster if possible but that brings a series of questions:
    1)  What nodes are hardware compatible to create a larger cluster?  It looks like the nodes from 1 and 3 can be combined into one four node cluster but the CPU's are too different in cluster 2 to join them.  Is that correct?
    2)  What implications are there of moving nodes to a new cluster?  These are running VM's in a production environment, unplanned downtime is not tolerated (but planned is usually OK).  It looks like I can just put a node into maintenance mode, remove it from a cluster, and then re-add it to a new cluster?  If I license the nodes on cluster 1 for vMotion before this work, can that be done with no guest downtime?
    Any gotcha's?
Everything is scheduled to be replaced later this year (new servers, VMware, and SAN) but with the failovers not working smoothly on cluster 2, I'd like to get this fixed as much as possible as soon as possible, with of course as little cash outlay as possible.
Thanks for any insight you can provide!

    Hi,
As you have new servers I recommend you :
    - Install OEL 5 on these new server ( OEL 6 is not supported)
    - Install Oracle Clusterware 11.2.0.3
    - Install Oracle Database 11.1.0.7
    - Configure temporary Virtual IP (at moment of migration you can reconfigure these Virtual IP with same used on old cluster)
    - Create a New Database with same name from actual PROD env using DBCA
    - Configure Services and Network
    - So remove only database files (Spfile, Control, Datafiles, Online Logs) from this new database created
At moment of Migration of Servers:
    - Shutdown the Old Cluster
    - Configure the Virtual IP of old cluster on new Cluster / Also you will need reconfigure Listeners and Tnsnames.ora
    - Map the Luns of Database Files on new Cluster and mount your filesystem
    - Start Database and all depend resources.
I recommend you use Grid Infrastructure (clusterware) 11.2 because if you in the future want upgrade your database to 11.2, you will need only install a Oracle RAC 11.2 and Upgrade your Database from 11.1.
If you install Clusterware 11.1 you will need upgrade both (Clusterware and RAC). It is much more work and you can find much more trouble to UPGRADE Clusterware, than performing a fresh installation.
Oracle Clusterware 11.2 Support (Oracle RAC 9i/10g/11g)
Any problem during these step at moment of migration you will have the old cluster.
Open an SR in the MoS to validate this new structure and migration.(This will help with possible problems that may occur)

  • Oracle Coherence 3.7.1, It's  always creating a new cluster in linux m/c.

    Hi ,
I am facing an issue with Oracle Coherence 3.7.1 in linux m/c , where it’s always creating a new cluster, even if I start a new member provided with same cluster name as argument. -Dtangosol.coherence.cluster=name
It’s not joining the existing cluster , it’s always creating a new cluster with same name in Linux m/c.
But when I tried the same thing in windows m/c , it working fine , even If I start N number cache server’s it joining the same cluster as one more member.
Please someone help me, why it’s always creating a new cluster in linux m/c with same name ? why new VM’s are not joining the existing cluster? , Is there anything extra setup I need to do for Linux m/c.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
For unicast, you need to define the override file as under:
    <?xml version='1.0'?>

                       <port system-property="tangosol.coherence.wka1.port"> coherence-node1-port</port>
                   </socket-address>
                   <socket-address id="2">

  • 2012 New Cluster Adding A Storage Pool fails with Error Code 0x8007139F

Trying to setup a brand new cluster (first node) on Server 2012. Hardware passes cluster validation tests and consists of a dell 2950 with an MD1000 JBOD enclosure configured with a bunch of 7.2K RPM SAS and 15k SAS Drives. There is no RAID card or any other
storage fabric, just a SAS adapter and an external enclosure.
I can create a regular storage pool just fine and access it with no issues on the same box when I don't add it to the cluster. However when I try to add it to the cluster I keep getting these errors on adding a disk:
Error Code: 0x8007139F if I try to add a disk (The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation)
When adding the Pool I get this error:
Error Code 0x80070016 The Device Does not recognize the command
Full Error on adding the pool
Cluster resource 'Cluster Pool 1' of type 'Storage Pool' in clustered role 'b645f6ed-38e4-11e2-93f4-001517b8960b' failed. The error code was '0x16' ('The device does not recognize the command.').
Based on the failure policies for the resource and role, the cluster service may try to bring the resource online on this node or move the group to another node of the cluster and then restart it.  Check the resource and group state using Failover Cluster
Manager or the Get-ClusterResource Windows PowerShell cmdlet.
if I try to just add the raw disks to the storage -- without using a pool or anything - almost every one of them but one fails with incorrect function except for one (a 7.2K RPM SAS drive). I cannot see any difference between it and the other disks. Any
ideas? The error codes aren't anything helpful. I would imagine there's something in the drive configuration or hardware I am missing here I just don't know what considering the validation is passing and I am meeting the listed prerequisites.
If I can provide any more details that would assist please let me know. Kind of at a loss here.

    Hi,
You mentioned you use Dell MD 1000 as storage, Dell MD 1000 is Direct Attached Storage (DAS)
Windows Server cluster do support DAS storage, Failover clusters include improvements to the way the cluster communicates with storage, improving the performance of a storage area network (SAN) or direct attached storage (DAS).
But the Raid controller PERC 5/6 in MD 1000 may not support cluster technology. I did find its official article, but I found its next generation MD 1200 use Raid controller PERC H 800 is still not support cluster technology.
You may contact Dell to check that.

My Client logs shows that it has created a new cluster and then it loaded the Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig xml file. Is there a way to prevent my client starting a new cluster? Is configuration incorrect? Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

    Hi,
Used -Dtangosol.coherence.tcmp.enabled=false to disable TCMP mode... ( Phew... :) )
In my client code we have the following statements...
    *==> Service service = CacheFactory.getService("DistributedCache");*
    *          Set<Member> storeEnabledSet = ((DistributedCacheService) service)*
    *                    .getStorageEnabledMembers();*
    *==> CacheFactory.ensureCluster();*
Does this needs to be changed for an Extend Client configuration?

  • Windows 2008 Cluster question on using a new cluster drive source from shrinking existing disk

I have a two node Windows 2008 R2 enterprise SP1 cluster. It has a basic cluster setup of one (Q:)quorum disk and data disk (E:) which is 2.7tb is size. This cluster is connected to a shared Dell Disk array.
My question is can I safely shrink the 2.7tb drive down and carve out a disk size of 500gb from the same disk and use for a new cluster disk resource. We want to install Globalscape SFTP software on this new disk for use as a cluster resource.
Will this work without crashing the cluster.
    Thanks,

  • New-Cluster Report file location

    Hi All,
I’m creating a cluster with new-cluster cmdlet and I need this to be a silent run.
    New-Cluster
    -Name $ClusterName
    -Node $Node1,
    $Node2,
    $Node3 -NoStorage
    -StaticAddress $IPAddress,$IPAddress2
    *>&1 |
    Out-Null
But I can’t get around the following output: Report file location: C:\Windows\cluster\Reports\Create Cluster Wizard <servername> on 2015.04.07 At 13.32.33.mht
    I have tried it with:
    $WarningPreference
    = "SilentlyContinue"$VerbosePreference
    = "SilentlyContinue"$DebugPreference
    = "SilentlyContinue"$ProgressPreference
    = "SilentlyContinue"
     $leeg
    =  New-Cluster
    -Name $ClusterName
    -Node $Node1,
    $Node2,
    $Node3 -NoStorage
    -StaticAddress $IPAddress,$IPAddress2
    *>&1 |
    Out-Null
    $leeg
    =  New-Cluster
    -Name $ClusterName
    -Node $Node1,
    $Node2,
    $Node3 -NoStorage
    -StaticAddress $IPAddress,$IPAddress2
    -verbose:$False
    -Debug:$False
    -OutVariable out
    -WarningAction SilentlyContinue
    -WarningVariable wout
    | Out-Null
But I keep getting the following output on screen:
Report file location: C:\Windows\cluster\Reports\Create Cluster Wizard <servername> on 2015.04.07 At 13.32.33.mht
    Best regards,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
this is due to non-conformance with PowerShell best practices by the coder of the FailoverCluster-Module developer.
New-Cluster writes directly to the host and thus can't be suppressed this way.
You may have more luck handling this odd output by running this command within a job or runspace.
    Cheers,
    Fred

  • New cluster sample code

    Hello,
There is a new cluster sample code under the sample code directory.
    Description:
Giving a new collection of documents or a document hitlist from a new query, it will be more efficient for
users to known what is in the collection by organizing the collection based on the document sementics. To
partition a collection is the task of clustering. Here is an implementation and sample code of clustering
    based on Oracle Text.
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/text/htdocs/cluster.html

You'll find all the details you need to accomplish this in the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers on the ADF Learning Center at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/adf/learnadf.html.
Section "8.3 Adding a Custom Service Method" explains how to add a service method to your application module.
Section "7.8.3 Example of Creating a New Service Request" shows the code required to create a new row in a view object.
Then you would just use the setAttribute() method on the target row to set the desired attributes to the new values based on the values from the source row.
Section "8.4.1 How to Publish Custom Service Methods to Clients" describes how you would publish your service method to clients.

The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6. You will either need to try one of the YouTube apps from the store (there is an iPhone optimised app from google), or try accessing it via Safari : http://m.youtube.com (you can create a home screen shortcut for the site)

  • Exchange 2010 server (Mail,HUB and CAS) installation in new site.

We are  planned to install Exchange 2010 servers(MAIL,HUB and CAS) server in new Active director site in existing exchange organization.
Kindly share best practice link for exchange server installation in new site.

The best practice for installing into a new Active Directory site is the same as installing into a new organization, except you don't need to prepare the organization or domains (unless you are also installing into a new domain that hasn't been prepared).
Install the CAS then hub, then mailbox roles, or install a multi-role server, then define your CAS Array name and IP address, and set your CAS behind a load balancer (if needed). Add your external certificate to both the CAS and the load balancer (and the
hub if you use TLS for mail transfer), and you should be golden.  Also, if you intend to proxy your CAS connections, here's a link that may help:

For completeness, here's a thread on the msexchange.org forums that specifically mentions adding Exchange into a second site:
