ZfH Problems/Questions (correct posting)

First of all, excuse my first empty posting, here comes the right one.
I am testing ZfH 5.1 in a Demo environment,
and have some questions/problems.
1)Handheld Client install loop
Each time my WinCE Devices connect to the Proxy/IP Conduit the
Handheld
Client tries to install, even if the Client is already installed on
the
Device. I've found no way, to prevent this loop (ok remove the client
files from the proxy would work, but thats no solution)
2) File Retrieve
Is there now way, to make a full backup of a WinCE Device, or even of
Subfolders?
Each time, I give it a source path and * as a wildcard for files (\My
Documents\ ), only the files in this actual directory are copied, not
the
files in the subfolders.
There must be a reason to copy subfolders, how?
3) German capitals
I am from Germany, and on my devices are some folders like "Startmen"
or "Geschftlich". When I enter this path as a source path for file
retrieve, I see in the log an error, that the proxy cannot find the
path!
All other without some capitals like , or are found and copied.
Thats a problem, cause all German devices uses these letters.
These are my questions for now,
would be very thankfull,
if someone could give me some hints or solutions.

I installed the 5.1.0.250 release and problem #1 and #2 are fixed !!
Now I am only searching for a solution,
to make a (nearly) full automized backup of the handheld devices.

A lot of threads have a common theme:
(1) The first post describes a problem, or asks a question.
(2) The second (or third, or fourth) post suggests doing or trying something.
(3) The next response, from the original poster, says "Oh, I already tried that!"
Please, when describing a problem or asking a question, be reasonably detailed about the scenario, what you did, what results you got, WHAT YOU'VE ALREADY TRIED, etc.
Vague undetailed problems/questions, not describing the N steps you've already taken to try to resolve it, etc. just waste time and bandwidth all around!

If we are going to start of list of things NOT to do when posting a question, the one I always think is the absolute silliest is when they say I am having trouble with an application and never ever tell up what application they are talking about as if we have a crystal ball which is going to tell us what mythical application it is. Well it turns out generally my crystal ball is foggy just then so I have to ask what are you talking about here.

How to make a slide wait until user has answered a question correctly, even after activating a smartshape?

Background:
I have created a quiz in which the user must answer each question correctly before proceeding to the next slide. This is what I did:
Set preferences to Settings > Required > Answer All - The user must answer every question to continue
Set the number of attempts on the question level to Infinite
Made the Next button invisible and disabled the playbar
This way, the user can only proceed to the next question slide with the Submit process – and, since attempts are infinite, that means only after successfully answering the question.
Current goal:
I want the user to be able to click on a prompt for a hint. To set this up, I did the following:
Created a smartshape labeled “click_for_hint” displaying text that says, “Click here for a hint”
Created a smartshape labeled “hint” displaying text hint
Set “click_for_hint” to show “hint” on success
Now, when the user clicks on the text that says, “Click here for a hint,” the hint pops up. So, that works – awesome! However, once the hint is activated, I would like for the user to be able to continue infinite attempts until successfully answering the question… and only then, after answering correctly, proceed to the next slide.
The problem:
If the user has submitted one or more incorrect answers and then activates the hint, the slide no longer waits until the user has answered the question correctly. Instead, it automatically resumes playing, proceeding to the next slide. I tried setting the smartshape “hint” to pause on success, but that did not work.
Is there a way to make the slide wait until the question is answered correctly before proceeding to the next slide, even after the hint has been activated?

Are you aware of the fact that your Required setting can cause problems, blocking the user? It is also totally unnecessary, because you have infinite attempts on question level, and did hide the Next button (hope you don't need Review, otherwise I would recommend not to hide that button but to drag it under the Clear button: Question Question Slides in Captivate - Captivate blog)
The hint problem is linked with the fact that a simple action will release the playhead. I would like to see the timeline of the slide, to compare the pausing points of the shape button and the question slide. Problem while 're-posting' a cancelle Invoice with Exchange Rate Difference

Hi Gurus,
We are facing a problem while re-posting an Invoice with Exchange Rate Difference. I say re-posting because this invoice was previously posted and reversed on the same date. Here is the scenario along with the relevant postings:
1)
G/R is posted in September when the exchange rate for dollar was, say, Rs. 49 = 1 USD.
Posting:
Service A/C.....100 USD (Rs. 4900)
     To SR/IR Clearing A/C...100 USD (Rs. 4900)
2)
MIRO is done in October, when the exchange rate was, say, Rs. 48 = 1 USD. Thus, the exchange difference posting was done in the respective accounts.
Posting:
SR/IR Clearing A/C......100 USD (Rs. 4900)
     To Vendor A/C...........90 USD (Rs. 4320)
     To TDS A/C..............10 USD (Rs. 480)
     To Exch. Difference A/C. 0 USD (Rs. 100)
This was the correct entry, however we missed out some TDS codes and thus needed to reverse this entry and repost it.
3)
Now this invoice was reversed (T.Code MIRO) in october itself on exactly the same date on which invoice was created, and it resulted in the following postings:
Vendor A/C......90 USD (Rs. 4320)
TDS A/C.........10 USD (Rs. 480)
     To SR/IR Clearing A/C...100 USD (4800, i.e. 48 * 100, Rs.48 being the exchange rate in october)

Now when we try to post MIRO again, it is posting the following entry:
SR/IR Clearing A/C......97.96 USD (Rs. 4800)
Exch. Difference A/C.....2.04 USD (Rs.    0)
     To Vendor A/C........... 85 USD (Rs. 4080)
     To TDS1 A/C............. 10 USD (Rs. 480)

This is a wrong entry. SR/IR clearing A/C should have been debited by 100 USD (Rs. 4900), and the Exch. Rate difference account should have been credited by 0 USD (Rs. 100)
Can someone please help us with this. What the system seems to be doing is, that when the Invoice was reversed, the value that got reversed for SR/IR Clearing A/C was 100 USD but with Rs. 4800 instead of Rs. 4900. Now, when we try to repost the invoice, the system divided this value by the exchange rate prevalent in September, i.e. Rs. 49, thus the resultant value 97.96 USD (i.e. 4800 / 49).

Bullets not appearing correctly post-Win 7 migration

This is coming from a newbie, so please bear with me. My company is currently using RH 10. We have recently migrated to Win7 along with IE8. Our bullets are now showing up as "n".
I suspect it's something to do with the migration and IE8 even moreso but am uncertain. I'm also uncertain what to do to fix it. I have extremely limited coding skills (CSS, etc.) so will need everything laid out in layman's terms so to speak.
Can someone please assist?

You only upgraded windows and IE, not RoboHelp, right? Or did you also recently upgrade from a previous RH version to version 10?
I ask because bullets and numbering are an issue when upgrading from RoboHelp 7 or earlier. Peter Grainge has a very thorough topic (and additional documents) on this issue available. I notice that you have several hundred lines of GUI code there. None of them have anything to do with the problem you are trying to solve. So put them all aside and write a SMALL test program that does nothing but the little loop you are having a problem with. Shouldn't be more than 20 lines of code.

Have reinstalled LION to see if monitor was found before TB driver update. Not found!
Have tried every combination of turning on monitor and rebooting system.
Next logical step: pouring water (with a suspension of copper particles - of course) into computer!
Please help as this computer was only bought on the basis that a secondary `big` monitor could be attached!

Ipod Problems (explination in post)

alright so i plugged in my 5th generation 80gb black ipod to the computer and it was doing fine, then i uploaded music and it all of a sudden died. I tried to plug it back in and upload but then it wouldnt charge either. Now i tried to plug it back in a couple of times but now it shows nothing not even the low battery icon. Can someone help me figure out what this problem is? and if you know what it is can i fix it?

mihaid's fix here http://www.appledefects.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=281 might work. However, a simpler option involves pulling all cables from the wall, waiting 15-30 seconds, reinstall the cables, then sync.
This is a tough question, please post if you achieve success.

MSI 925XE BIOS 1.3 to 1.4 Upgrade problem/question

Hi,
Today I upgraded my board from BIOS 1.3 to 1.4 (successfully, *phew*). The BIOS page on the MSI site states that it fixes some problems, but nothing related to temperature sensors is mentioned:

Now the actual problem/question is that with BIOS v1.3 my full load temp was roughly 65 degrees celcius (3.4GHz LGA775 CPU). Now with v1.4 my full load temperature shows up as 47-48 degrees celcius.
This of course doesnt seem like a bad thing at first, lower temp = good, but I cant help but wonder whether the temperature was being inaccurately shown in 1.3, or whether it is being shown wrongly now with 1.4. A drop in full load temp of about 18 degrees celcius sure raises some questions.
If anyone knows anything about this, Id appreciate any feedback. Also if there is some kind of tech support email address that MSI has (I couldnt find one on the site), could you please pass it to me, thanks.
I didnt post my entire system specs because really all the other components are irrelevant, I didnt change the setup in any way other than the BIOS. If I needed to post some addition info, tell me what it is, and I will.

What kind of chassis cooling? When as I said the case is open right now cause Im still experimenting with everything, so really its like no chassis at all for now. What kind of fan do I use with the XP-120? Its a quiet fan, I cant seem to find the box. If Im not mistaken, its the green version of this:

And finally... Yes of course I was able to fit the XP120 on the motherboard, how else would I be running the comp hehe? BTW, I wouldnt necessarily recommend it to others though, the installation was very problematic. But still, its possible.

Problem getting correct data from MS Access after doing an Update

Hi all,
I have a problem getting correct data after doing an update. This is the scenario
I am selecting some(Eg: All records where Column X = �7� ) records and update a column with a particular value (SET Column X = �c� ) in all these records by going through a while loop. In the while loop I add these records to a vector too, and pass it as the return value.
After getting this return value I go through a for loop and get each record one by one from the DB and check if my previous update has actually happened. Since No errors were caught while updating DB, I assume all records are updated properly but my record set shows one after another as if it has not been updated. But if I open the DB it is actually updated.
This does not happen to all records, always it shows like this
1st record     Mode = �c�
2nd record     Mode = �7�
3st record     Mode = �c�
4nd record     Mode = �7�
9th record     Mode = �c�
10th record     Mode = �7�
I am relatively new to java and this is someone elses code that I have to modify,So I am not sure if there some thing wrong in the code too

It started after the major update to iOS 7.
I can't believe that this is so hard to do. It's just not letting me. I can add a bookmark to the home screen just fine, just not in a bookmarks folder anywhere I try.
I've used Apple products since 2001 and have always loved how intuitive they are. But the Safari browser since iOS 7 has been the worst I've experienced. At least right in the beginning after that update.
I'd really appreciate any help that doesn't just tell me how it's suppose to work...I know that.
My iPad 4 is not affected with the problem and works as it should.

Few problems/questions! (cover flow, album art...etc)

Ok I finally added my songs to my new IPOD (replaced my old one) and this is my first Ipod with video, color...etc. Its the IPOD Classic 80 GIG.
Well I am having a few problems/questions:
---Why when I hit "Get album art" does it ONLY get art for my videos? It doesn't get any for all 1,500+ songs! Is it because they aren't downloaded from Itunes? If so then why does it do it for the movies then? They aren't from ITunes either!
---With Cover Flow I updated the Album Art myself and have about 700 songs with art now. But I have two problems.
1. It won't display all 700 songs under Cover Flow!
2. It won't show them in order by song name! Can I change that?!? If not then how is it showing them by? What do I need to change?
---Are there any other video types supported besides that on Mpeg4 and that other weird type? If not why not? Its a pain to have to convert everything. Its almost not worth having this video IPOD if you have to go through sop much effort just to watch 1 stupid video. I mean I spent more money on extra programs now for music and videos then I did on the IPOD almost.
---Is there any way to transfer your music from one IPOD to another? I know some people say you can't but why? What about people like me who have music ripped from our own cds and NOTHING from ITunes? Its a REAL pain having to rerip all the cds, put them back on, rename all the songs, fix all the info...etc. Its taken me 4 days now. Apple needs to think about a "IPOD TO IPOD" music transfer kinda program.
---How do you get pics on the IPOD without having to keep them on your PC? I notice it has to SYNC them every time I have it plugged into the PC! But if I tell it NOT to sync pics anymore then they won't stay on the IPOD if turn that option off and unplug the IPOD. Theres got to be another way to add them.

Cover flow on the ipod can only be done (as far as I know) on Album by Artist Name. On iTunes you can change it around

Try using freeware, heres an excellent video converter for iPods:

Problem with depreciation posting for an asset with a '0' net book value.

Hi,
I have a problem with depreciation posting on one asset. I think it should not be calculated and posted at all.
On 1st November 2010 (our Fiscal year starts on 1st November) there was acquisition posted to an asset and then it was reversed on the same day - so the net book value was '0'.
In AFAB depreciation run for April 2011 - it posted depreciatoion of 0.01 Euro, so now the book value is -0.01.
Do you know how this could have happened and what can I do to get the value of this asset back to 0?

Thank you for your reply.
I just have one doubt - as depreciation of 0.01 Eur was posted in previous period leaving net value of asset equal to -0.01 Eur.
Shouldn't I get ritd of this asset value before I proceed with the steps you suggested?
I think it is not possible to reverse the depreciation - so I struggle to find a way to bring asset value back to zero.
