Zoom bar for albums need to be back on itunes!

I recently upgraded to itunes 11.5 only to find that the zoom bar for the album view was missing,. I'm finding this a little irritating as I have over 250 albums and it takes me ages to scroll through.
I then tried to install an older version of itunes only to find that I couldnt open my library as it was created by the newer version of itunes.
Apple please update itunes and add this function???

I unplugged the apple TV box that plays the iphone 5 to the TV and that corrected the problem.
There seems to be some software issue wrong with the Apple Tv.
It will work then after playing something just stop cold and disappear from the phone The icon.
I once and it worked turned on the PC to make work but don't understand why the computer would have to be on or maybe itunes running to get that feature to work.

I upgraded to itunes 9 today but after the fact realized I can't go to the iTunes store because I can't get Safari 4 because I can't go past OS 10.5.4 because my version of ProTools LE (7.4.2) doesn't allow a higher OS.....

to downgrade to a previous iTunes version, you could try this user tip that seemed to have worked for some:
+1) Quit iTunes.+
+2) Delete iTunes from your Applications folder.+
+3) Go to your ~/Music/iTunes folder. Delete or rename the "iTunes Library" file.+
+4) Open the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and look for the backup of your old pre-9 library; it should be dated at about the time you first ran iTunes 9. Copy it back out to the ~/Music/iTunes folder, and rename it to "iTunes Library".+
+6) Go to <http://support.apple.com/downloads/iTunes8_21> and download iTunes 8.2.1. The page says it's for G3, but the Read Me file says it'll run on G4, G5, and Intel too. Open the diskimage and run the installer.+
+You should now be able to run iTunes 8.2.1 again.+
+And your iTunes will restore to before you upgraded and you won't lose anything+.

Hello I am using a NAS storage device to access my music in iTunes on my Macbook Pro. At one time it worked fine & now when I select the server in the "Shared" list and login, the top activity view reads "Loading 'NAS server name' " though it does not load after any period of time. It is an issue that many people using NAS servers are experiencing, not just this particular brand I am using.
When I went to a support forum, a tech employed by the hardware provider said the problem is with iTunes 10.5. The changes Mac made this time were significant enough to create issues of compatability when loading content from NAS devices using an iTunes Server feature. The moderator advised switching back to iTunes 10.4 and not upgrading until the issue can be resolved. I need to go back to the old version of Itunes 10.4 because I can no longer listen to music with it.
Does anyone know where on the Apple site I can find a link to download this version so I can use iTunes again?
Are there any other ways that I do not currently understand that will allow me to access the content on the NAS server though iTunes?

Hi there i have just updater to iTunes 7 but wondered if i can revert back to an older software version 10.6.1(7) and where can i download if from for free if any body can help with this and maybe send me a link to download it from that would be sick

If you want to be that specific you will have to do a web search and look for a site that includes edgesuite.net which serves up Apple's software. Is there some reason you absolutely must have 10.6.1 and 10.6.3 won't do? If you think you are going to see this need in the future then do what I do which is download almost every version of iTunes as it appears and then stick it on an archive drive on the off chance some day I actually will need it after Apple removes it from its list of downloads. I still use iTunes 7.5 but I have many versions between 7.5 and 10.7 on my archive drive should the day come I wish to upgrade but not as far as Apple wants me to.

I had a Dell PC, and I got a MacBook for Christmas. I have an iPod Touch that already has songs, videos and pictures on it that are in my iTunes library on my PC. How do I get these files onto my new Mac?

I have the same situation. I've already copied my iTunes library from my PC to CD's. I added my husband as a user on my new Mac and now has an empty library. I believe my next step is to copy the music files to the library, but what about the iPod Touch? Do I have to connect it to the PC and restore it first so that when I connect it to my Mac it will re-format for OS X? This is how I did it for my iPod Classic, but I've read several articles that the Touch doesn't work the same as the Classic. There are too many contradictory posts out there. Please advise with the easiest way to do this. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that your device is now disabled becasue of a restrictions passcode. According to the following article, you will need to restore your device with iTunes:

Release Date for Albums Year, MONTH DAY

Why can't I enter the release date for albums (Year month and day)?   Itunes has a field for year but that's it.    I would have loved to be at the meeting where it was discussed.
"Year, month and day? why the heck would any want that?"
"Well a lot of us want to see our albums in chronological order and you can't do that with just the year, many albums come out every year"
"Blah Blah Blah, music is just to dance to, no one cares about dates, besides it would four extra digit fields in each entry"
But seriously, I would think that Itunes would aspire to be THE program for music lovers.
Instead of being able to just enter the release dates I have had to come up with my own work around. I put a the release date in the format yyyymmdd in fromt of each title and then sort by titles.
Now all of my Beatle albums finally show up in chronological order by release date.   But why should I have to massage the data like this.   I can't imagine what goes on at Itunes planning sessions. I'm very unhappy about the loss of cover flow but that's another story.

This is so fundamental. Every album has a release date and it's part of the data that is always associated with that album.   Why did Apple look at the data available for an album and consciously decide to truncate it?
What kind of music lover isn't aware of when albums are released? I just don't get it.
I like having the date yyyymmdd in front of each album.   It isn't pretty but it means the albums are chronological.   If you want, you could just put this in the sort field and leave the regular album title in the regular field.   Then the names would be right and they would sort correctly.   But again. Why should we have to do all that?
Apple is busy constantly changing where the controls are on I tunes rather than fixing something simple and important like this.
Today I wanted to load some songs onto my ipod touch and it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to sync because the last itunes update got rid of the side bar.
How are you supposed to get comfortable using a product when they keep moving the controls around?   Just quit apple.   leave the controls where they are. Add new controls if needed but stop moving them. I know I'm ranting now but I am honestly angry and frustrated,

Migrate Album art from Windows player to iTunes?

Sorry if this has been asked a million times but....
Is there a way to migrate the artwork from Windows media player into iTunes?
It seems that media player keeps all the art within each album folder which means that I already have the art for albums that the great and mighty iTunes can't seem to find. And I have checked to confirm this - about 700 or so albums that I have art for in media player can't be found in iTunes. I thought that they all accessed the same CDDB info.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You only need to drag something onto iTunes in order to import it, however it will need to be in the correct format. If the files in your Windows player are in Windows format you will need to convert them before you can import them.

Apple TV not syncing back to itunes

Strange things happening here...
At some point I bought a song on my apple tv. When syncing to itunes, I got a message saying the song could not be synced (i guess it was corrupt, but I checked "don't show this message again", so I can't reproduce the error message).
Now, every time I start itunes, it tries to sync with atv, but always tries to sync the corrupt file and fails.
Not too big of a problem, but somehow the atv doesn't sync back to itunes at all, since the 10 other songs I bought since then, seem to have the same problem of not syncing back to itunes, although itunes seems to try and sync for approx. 45 secs or so...
Now, a few questions :
1) How do I get itunes to show the error message again, so I can check if the new songs have the same problem.
2) How can I delete the 1 song that started all this trouble from atv ?
3) In the worst case scenario, how do I format the atv, so I can start from scratch again?

OK, just posting this because it might help others...
This afternoon, I got ready to call the local apple support, and with the phone in my hand I started up itunes.
And you won't believe this, but it synced beautyfully, in both directions ...
What the * ?
There has only been 1 change on my mac, and that's the installation of the latest security update !!!
So my calculated guess would be, that the last security update closed certain ports, that atv needs to sync back to itunes, and that this security update opened those ports again...
I can only hope the next update won't f*ck things up again.
Anyway, my problem is solved, and I hope a lot of others out there are fine too after installing the 2009-001 security update.

I don't think it's possible if you are stuck in recovery mode but I may be wrong...
Since your device qualifies for iOS 8(.1), that is the version that will be downloaded/restored to the iPad.
I do know that you can restore your iPad (from backup & as new) and keep the same iOS version if you restore using the iPad itself under Settings/Reset/Erase All Content and Settings but since you can't access this because your stuck in recovery mode, the point is moot.
Have you tried downloading the update in the middle of the night (2 am or so) where dropouts are much less likely to occur?
It's always possible to take your device in to an Apple Store (make a Genius Bar reservation first) and do the iOS update there in the Apple Store.. I'm sure they will gladly help you out with it and not charge you a thing. The trouble with that would be if you don't have an Apple Store nearby.

You can't download pictures from iCloud by logging into icloud.com. If you deleted pictures from camera roll AND photo stream, the only possibility is preforming a restore from an iCloud backup, assuming the backup has the pictures in it. (Many users have been unable to restore and get back their pictures.)
If the restore doesn't have all the pictures, then they are gone.
In the future, use photo stream to sync photos from an iPhone to a computer, then copy the photos on the computer from the photo stream album into a permanent album. Photo stream pics stay there only for 30 days, and only up to 1000 photos are stored. Don't use photo stream as a storage medium, it's only for copying photos from one device to another. Always copy (either via USB cable or photo stream) to a computer and then move to an album.

Flash no longer works for me since installing Firefox 3.6.19. I am running Mac OS 10.4 on a PowerPC, which is not supported by the latest Flash version. Do I need to go back to the previous version of Firefox?

If I do need to go back a version, any suggestions or links on doing this w/o losing any bookmarks or settings? Complete uninstall/reinstall? I've not had to do this kind of thing before. Thanks!

You might try using the add-on 'NoSquint' which allows numerous zoom options specific to each page you visit & keeps your settings - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/
If you want to go back to 3.6x, you will find it here:

In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side.
