Zoom Function on LG Blu-Ray BD630

Hello all,
I just got this blu-ray and was trying to use the zoom function and it keeps putting up a circle with a line through it whenever I press the button. Is there something I need to do to get this function to work like a function button then zoom? Any help would be appreciated for this

That means that zoom is not available on whatever you are watching.

  • Has a stop marker any function when burning blu-ray discs with Premiere Elements 12?

Stop marker when burning blu-ray discs with Pre 12. Does it works?

    Amiral
    No.
This applies to Premiere Elements any version.
Stop markers placed on the Premiere Elements Timeline destined for burn to Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc are not recognized at playback of that disc using the Blu-ray player.
If you need Blu-ray disc with stop markers, you can export your Premiere Elements Timeline content to an appropriate file type that will be compatible with a 3rd party software which will get the job done. I have heard that a software such as DVD Architect can do that, but I have not been there and done that.
Stop markers function at playback of DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc only. And, never place a stop marker at the end of the last item on that Timeline.

    Thank you.

Add On...I have found that the situation is the same for stop markers and AVCHD on DVD and Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc.

  • Menus for Blu-Ray

Can one build chaptering menus that work in Blu-Ray with Encore?  I normally have worked with Final Cut X but there is no way to build menus for the Blu-Ray DVD.  Thanks
    Don

Sorry to explain so poorly.  The timeline is the whole DVD.  Within it are multiple chapter points to delineate segments of the information.  Than, using the Mpeg2 compression file in Apple's DVD Pro, I build the menus with buttons which relate to the chapter points.  However, if I select. The compression protocol for Blu-Ray, it seems as tho I cannot make menus which are functional on the Blu-Ray disc.
Another gentleman has answered saying there are many available menus in Encore which can be used for a Blu-Ray disc.  I got Adobe Premier's trial.  Am assuming that is different than Encore.
    Appreciate your help

  • DVD Remote "skip" Function Doesn't Work for Blu-ray Projects (CS5 Encore)

I have graduated from SD to HD and I need help.
I just finished my first HD project in CS5, burned it to a Blu-ray disk and immediately encountered a problem: the skip forward and the skip backward remote functions don’t work. (I have encountered several other problems on the way to get here but I solved those with the help of the manual and by browsing this forum ). In this project, I am doing exactly what I have done in my previous SD projects (where this function works):
In CS5 Encore, I added “Chapter Points at Intervals…”.
On the timeline Properties Panel, I kept the default selection “Operations: All Permitted” (that includes “Search for Chapter” in the “Permitted User Operations” menu).
In the “Project Preview” window, clicking on the “Next Chapter” or “Previous Chapter”, the function is executed correctly.
Still, after burning the blu-ray disk and pressing the “skip forward” or “skip backward” buttons on the Blu-ray player (Panasonic DMP-BD65) remote, the “Operation is not permitted” message appears. (This very remote button function works on all my SD projects.)
More background info: I am also using Encore Chapter Markers from the PrPro project linked with Adobe Dynamic Link, chapter marker End Actions (Jeff’s The Focal Easy Guide to Adobe Encore DVD 2.0, pp. 178-180), and Bill’s advice on using the “dip to black” transition to avoid the ~1 second gap between chapters in the Chapter Playlist that I use to play all chapters.  The following observation may be unrelated: in Encore’s Monitor Panel, the “Step Forward” button with pressing the Alt key does not move the CTI to the next GOP mark. The “Step Forward” or “Step Backward” functions (without pressing the Alt key) work (moving the CTI one frame)..
At this point, I desperately need the Forum’s help.
    Thanks,
         - Laci.

Up to now I worked only with standard definition projects and outputted them
to DVDs. This is my HD project. My problem is that I am a bit confused with
the proper (and simple) settings for a blu-ray project. Your
questions/comments imply that I am making a "DVD project" - but then, how
can I burn it to a BD?
Here is what I am doing, and please, let me know if/where I am making my
    mistake:
    1.       On the camcorder the recording format is set to "AVCHD 1080/60i
    HA".
    2.       In the CS5 PrPro new project:
    a.       General > Capture Format: HDV
    b.      New Sequence > Sequence Preset > AVCHD > "AVCHD 1080i30 (60i)".
    3.       In Encore: File >  Project Settings > Basic:
    a.       Authoring Mode: "Blu-ray"
    b.      Transcode Settings: "Codec: MPEG-2; Dimensions: 1920 x 1080; Frame
Rate: 29.97, Fields: Upper Field First, Audio Transcoding Scheme: Dolby
Digital, Maximum Audio/Video Bitrate: 15.0 Mbps"
    c.       In the "Default Transcode Settings" window, the Blu-ray tab is
highlighted. (There, I could change the codec from MPEG-2 to H.264 -
according to some articles it would give slightly better quality in certain
    circumstances - I don't know.)
    d.      On the Encore Project Panel, right clicking on the sequences, and
choosing "Transcode Settings" from the menu, I get a window that says "DVD
Transcoding" and "Blu-ray Transcoding". In the Blu-ray Transcoding section,
I choose Codec: MPEG-2, Dimension 1920x1080, Frame Rate: 29.97, Quality
    Preset: Automatic Using Project Settings.
    e.       Going into the "Edit Quality Presets", I change the "Export
Settings Preset" to "1920x1080i 29.97 Maximum Quality" (from the 1280x720)
    4.       Now, in the Project Panel, under the Blu-ray Transcode Settings I
    see: "1920x1080i 29.97 Maximum Quality MPEG-2".
Are these the correct settings for a high quality Blu-ray project? I am
re-transcoding the project with these settings to see if I still get the bad
    transitions.
    Thanks for your advice,
    Laci.

  • Blu-Ray player "zoom" availability

Are there any Blu-Ray players on the market with the "zoom" feature that used to be available on many regular DVD players?

  • 16:9 standard DVD looks good w/ Blu Ray, zoomed in on DVD player

Final Cut Pro7. 16:9 stills slideshow, Compressor 90 min best DVD, DVD Studio 1280 x 720p 16:9 letterbox
Any ideas why? It looks about 25% larger when played on a standard DVD player, looks good on Blu Ray.

DVDs are limited to SD video only. You cannot have HD video on a SD DVD created by DVD SP.
And the HD DVDs that DVD SP creates will not play on Blu-Ray players.

  • CD/ Blu-ray Drive Will Not Open/ Function Correctly

My CD/ Blu-ray drive will not open. I can force it open with a paper clip and put in a disk that way but it does not activate and read the disk. The drive also does not appear as a file selection under my hard disk drives section of my computer.
With this I am assuming my optical drive is broken so I tried looking for a replacement. I searched for the name of the optical drive in the HP PartSurfer and it says it is called SPS-DRV DVD SATA BD Combo 12.7. Just to be sure, is that the correct part I am looking for? If so, and say I were to go ahead and order this part, how do I go about removing the optical drive in my labtop and replacing it with the new drive?

  • External Blu-Ray drive for HP Envy Lightscribe Issues

My HP Envy 13-1100ea came with an HP external Blu-Ray drive (HP Part No: 538333-001) which identifies itself as an Optiarc  BD ROM BC-5600S. In the HP Envy 13 service manual it mentions this drive as having Lightscribe functionality but I cannot seem to get the drive to be detected by the Lightscribe Control Panel or any Lightscribe labelling software. I have tried installing the Lightscribe software (older version) from the HP product support page as well as the latest software and diagnostic utilities direct from the Lightscribe site but nothing has seemed to work so far. Has anyone had any success burning Lightscribe labels with this drive or have any advice that might get things working?

The drive has the following logo on the bottom plate:
Which looks quite similar to the lightscribe logo, although it's not exactly the same. The HP Envy 13 support page does not contain drivers for the optical drive and I can't seem to find a dedicated support page for the drive itself. I have tried uninstalling the default windows driver which it reinstalls when the drive is plugged in again. As I said before it has been communicated in various place that the drive features lightscribe functionality and I'd be pretty upset if it turns out it doesn't!

  • How to connect Apple TV to DVD blu-ray home theatre

Hi guys, I am planning to buy Apple TV2 and I was wondering is there setup guide for connecting to HDTV and home theatre system. I currently have LG HDTV and LG DVD Blu-ray Home Theatre. They are connected with HDMI 1.3 cable and I had to get optical cable to get sound from TV to Home theatre.
How is Apple TV fits into that? I have 1 HDMI slot free on TV and 2 HDMI inputs on DVD system.
I was thinking just to connect Apple TV to DVD via HDMI? Would that put sound on home theatre system?
    Thank you in advance.
    ddrasko

You have read home theatre manual about playing sound from external device.
You doesn't need to connect home theatre to tv at all as you have get video from apple tv.
Connect video output from apple tv to tv(may carry sound along) and optical cable from apple tv to home theatre.
That will do. You can mute sound of tv(in case hdmi carry sound along) or using other function(on samsung ) and hear from home theatre sound from speakers.

  • How do I have Blu-Ray pop up menus linked together if I'm using multiple timelines?

I have a 6 timeline project that I put in pop up menus for.  Each timeline asks for it's own pop up menu to use.  The pop up menus seemed to need to be created with the multiple chapter option to work for me, I couldn't create stand alones and link them together because the timeline asks for ONE pop up menu associated with it.  I then created 6 separate pop up menus (each one ended up with about 3 pages) one for each timeline.  I tried to link POP UP MENU1  to POP UP MENU2 with a NEXT button at the end of the last page of POP UP MENU1.  When I drag the whip to link it to the proper pop up menu when I actually look at the button the link is the current pop up menu not the one I want it linked to, so I am unable to do this.  The pop up menus function properly on my Blu-Ray player- If I am viewing material from timeline 1, I can pull up POP UP MENU1 and arrow back and forth to the three pages on this, POP UP MENU2 functions the same way for timeline 2.  etc.
    Project Settings:
    Blue Ray
    720 X 480
    EncoreCS5
    Quad 4
    2.4 GHZ speed
150 GB free space on drive
    NVIDIA GEFORCE 8500 card
    6 GB Ram

First of all, the pop up menus can not be linked to each other.
If you want, you can have more pages on a single pop up menu and link all your timelines or chapters to the buttons of the pages and then link that pop up menu with more number of pages to all of the timelines. In this way, you can have the option to navigate to any chapter of any timeline while any timeline is playling.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh.

  • How can I create an iDVD to play in a blue ray

I'm searching for the way to create a slide show on a disc that will play on both DVD and Blue-Ray players.

There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:
    http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico:  http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie  as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast,  for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!
To simply create a slide show in iDVD 7 onwards from images in iPhoto or stored in other places on your hard disk or a connected server, look here:

  • How to convert Hi8 to iMac? Have 2 video cameras: Sony CCD-YRV98 video Hi8 and Panasonic SDR-SW20 digital video. Please provide the steps to convert to iMovie '11. Also, is there a way to burn in blu-ray?

I already have two video cameras. One older (Sony) in Hi8 and the less older one (Panasonic) which is digital. Between the two can it be accomplished to transfer the Hi8 video on tapes to iMovie?
I have the newer iMac 21.5" and also would like to know if it is possible to record this on blu-ray. The iMac didn't come with iDVD, which means I have to get that uploaded. Any other suggestions?

    Sony Hi8 camcorder
No it is an Analog Camera - and have NO Digital-Out
I may be made a Wrongful assumption in that the - Panasonic digital camcorder - was a Digital 8 Camera.
If it is - it has a Digital Out (FireWire) and can playback the Hi 8 tapes from the other Camera.
If it is a miniDV Camera - it also have a FW-out (Digital out) - BUT can not play Your Hi 8 tapes.
Then there are not so many ways to do this.
If Your Panasonic digital camcorder - Has Analog in RECORDING ( not all have this, it was an EXTRA Cost ! ) - Then You can playback from the Hi 8 Camera to this and record onto a miniDV tape - to be played and Captured/Imported into Your Mac.
The Panasonic digital camcorder - Might have a feature - Play trough - that makes it possibly to use it as an Analog - Digital bridge - some can do this - But You've not told the exact type/no: etc - So I can not guess.
If this still do not work (The Panasonic digital camcorder do not have an Analog in connection/function)
    - Then You need an Analog/Digita Converting box - from Hi 8 to this A/D-box then to Mac via FireWire.
There are several types and prices - I got a fairly expensive box due to that I've lot's of old VHS tapes in even bad quality. And this - Canopus ADVC-300 - has a function - Timebase Correction - that helps a lot in regard to drop outs and Audio slowly going out of sync. I just keeps perfect even over several Hours of VHS-tapes.
    Yours Bengt W

  • Creating a HDTV disk playable on Blu-Ray player - possible?

I want to distribute movies created in iMovie and exported in Quicktime HD (.MOV) format by burning them onto a Blu-Ray disk suitable for viewing the video on standard Blu-Ray disk players like my LG BD270 Blu-Ray player to view them on HDTV. I purchased and setup an ASUS Blu-Ray writer, which my iMac (Mavericks OS) recognizes. I'm using Aiseesoft's Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac to convert the .MOV file to a file format suitable for viewing on a Blu-Ray disk. I've tried two file formats: 1) HD MPEG-4 Video (*.mp4) and 2) HD H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Video (*.mp4), Everything seems to function properly. However, when I try playing the Blu-Ray disks on the Blu-Ray player, i get the spinning CD symbol for a moment that turns into "DATA". There are four icons that appear. The video icon is greyed out. Most frustrating. Perhaps I'm missing a step or using the wrong format???
    Any ideas?

It turns out that the Blu-Ray disks were properly written. The problem was due to the fact that the Blu-Ray player used was not capable of handling the new file formats. Playing the disks on a modern Blu-Ray player showed no problems. Thus the combination of Aiseesoft's Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac and the ASUS Blu-Ray Writer works with my iMac.

  • Satellite P850 - Where to get Toshiba Blu-ray player?

    Hi,
I recently reformatted my p850/049 for windows 7. I tried to install the Toshiba Blu-Ray Disc player V1.0.3.196A, the file didn't work at all and when I tried to install it manually "cannot find player in your system. Installation Aborted". On the download page it is listed as a patch, but where do I find the original file? I have SP1 Windows 7 pro 64 bit, all up do date as of 24th May 2013
I found V1.0.5.110 from the US version of the Toshiba support site and this installed and does play DVD's and it tries to open a Blu-Ray but it gets stuck on blank screen and doesn't play or allow me to do anything like skip scene or go to the menu. There's no error message complaining about region or corrupt files or anything it just goes to a blank screen, with the controls available but they don't do anything. As I said dvd's work perfectly, just not blu-rays.
The player itself seems to function normally on this screen and when you try to click buttons it comes up with a circle with a line through it when you try and click buttons like a normal dvd player if you tried to skip through the copyright warnings and the time index is always a small number ie 25 seconds or so. As if it were trying to play a small segment like the copyright section or something.
I've tried a number of different Blu-ray discs and none of them work. I downloaded a trial of another Blu-ray player program and it plays Blu-rays all the same ones that don't work on the Toshiba player (so the hardware works), so i'm looking for a free one that works without leaving a watermark on the screen. It seems silly as I expected my machine to PLAY BLU-RAYS without me having to buy software.
    Any help would be appreciated

    > I tried to install the Toshiba Blu-Ray Disc player V1.0.3.196A, the file didn't work at all and when I tried to install it manually "cannot find player in your system. Installation Aborted"
Yes, this is a patch file and you cannot install this without having installed an full version.
But I found on the Toshiba Australian driver page the Toshiba Video Player 5.0.0.16-A
Did you try to install this application?
At the other hand I could recommend the usage of freeware software like VLC Player.
This is really great and in my opinion the best player you can get for free.

I was ready to blame it on a bad burner but I then tried a regular DVD both store bought and home made and it played fine.
