Zoom in Effect

Hi,
Is there a way to zoom in an image without having the image
distorted?
thanks in advance.

Vectors scale not just down, but up and rotate any direction
without loss of quality because they
are resolution free. Bitmaps are not and flash does not
handle bitmaps well when it comes to
scaling. any amount of scaling and rotation will lead to loss
of quality.
Add this to frame 1:
_quality = "BEST";
but user beware as it will also cause some playback
performance issues depending on size of image.

  • Expand horizontal scroll panel on both sides for a zoom in effect

    Hi,
I'm creating an interactive timeline with Flash Catalyst. It is set up as a long horizontal scroll panel which contains buttons that link to states with photos and text about historic events. One feature I would like to include is a zoom feature, like the one found on the bbc British history timeline (http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/interactive/timelines/british/index_embed.shtml ). E.g., when you click on a colored section of the horizontal scroll panel it will zoom in to view that timeframe in more detail.
The problem I'm running into is that I can't expand the scroll panel to the left. So, I can go into edit mode for the scrolling content, create a second state, and enlarge the scrolling content in that second state to create a zoom in effect. However, because the scrolling content will only expand to the right, I can't line up the interaction correctly.
Is there a workaround for this in Flash Catalyst?

    have a peek at this:
on the left, the corner radius (the red line) is enough to create a curve on the inside of the stroke. on the right, it isn't large enough.

the zoom burst effect has stopped working in PSE 12! when I click the zoom burst function the photo distorts as designed but when i click the "add focus area"
button on the photo it returns the whole photo to normal without focusing the part selected. can anyone advise how to overcome this,
I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSE 12 already with no effect.

  • Can the Adobe Photoshop Layer Support with Captivate 4 be use to show a Zoom & Pan Effect?

I'm working with a client that is interested in creating the "Zoom & Pan" effect you get with Camtasia using Captivate 4.  I'm not finding enough information to support that this is possible with Captivate 4.  The Photoshop Layer Support feature with Captivate 4 comes across as something that may work to some degree however, it is again unclear if it would definitely work to give the zoom & pan effect I am looking for.  Would anyone mind explaining this feature in greater detail and/or offering any ideas for how I can show the zoom & pan effect in Captivate 4?

    Hi there
    LOL, good luck with that!
NOTHING in Captivate will achieve what you are seeing in Camtasia. Sorry, there simply is no comparison. Sure, Captivate has panning while recording, but what you end up with are several herky jerky snapshots of suddenly being in a different screen area. Sort of reminds me of walking through a room while slowly closing and opening your eyes. In other words, you are seeing version 1 of the panning feature. We hope it improves, but it's not there yet.
If you have Camtasia, you could combine it with Captivate for some nice and interesting effects and have the best of both worlds! I do that.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Zooming in effect?

Hi, I was making a video and I can't seem to find a way to add a zoom in effect to a particular portion of the video. I know on windows movie maker they have what I am talking about but I cant find it on Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0. Is there a way to do what I want and if so how? Thank you.

I think I understand the concept of Keyframing.  At first I just  didn't
even know what a keyframe was.  And I thought that animation effects  were
just for people who made cartoons.  But I'm starting to get  it.
In some roundabout way, I've already combined identical frames in the Movie
Maker 2.5 (XP Media Center)and applied effects and manipulated timing to
get effects they didn't have.  (In the Vista version, some of that  doesn't
work.)  So in Premiere Elements it's going to be much more  precise and
flexible.  I think you're right in that once I know how to  work it, I will much
    prefer it.
It's actually knowing which little items to click  on and which values to
enter (I'm so off-base with my numbers!), and then  remembering where on
earth I found those sometimes hidden items, that's the  challenge.
I'm going to try it, and I'm glad there's the movipix website out  there
where I can get some help if I need it.
    Thanks again,
    Elisabeth.

No  eye-rolling from me! Keyframing is not that easy a concept to grasp,
but when  one does, it becomes second nature. It is that initial conceptual

Maybe it's because I come from an  engineering background, a couple of
lifetimes ago, but I find that the  "numbers" are the easiest way to do it.
OTOH, many like to do it in more of a  visual sense, with the "bounding box" for
the Video. I won't go into a lot of  detail, because I think that PE might
well handle this differently than PrPro  does, and I do not want to either
"lie" to you, or confuse you. Steve's  articles, and book, go into the proper
    detail and FOR PE.
Trust  me, when you get Keyframing down, you will wonder how you ever lived
without  it. I use some form, or another, in almost everything I do in
Premiere. I  can't tell you the last time that I chose any Title animation
Preset. I always  Keyframe everything, because I am a "control freak," and would
rather do it  all by hand, than rely on some pre-packaged Preset.
Good luck and  do read over Steve's articles. He breaks it down into
easy-to-understand  terms. Once one "gets it," they'll never look  back.

  • Help, Apply a Zoom in effect to a page?

I was wondering how you would do a zoom in effect as a page turns and it would stop and a menu would come up to click to which part of the story you want to go to.

With your image in the timeline to have the display length of time set, double click on it to put it in the Viewer.
    In Viewer
    • Set the play head at the beginning of the clip.
    On the Viewer>Motion tab
    • Click to set a Scale Keyframe
    • Set the scale.
    • Move the playhead to the end of the clip
    • Click to set a scale keyframe
    • Set the zoomed in scale
    Play it.

  • HOWTO show a popup window with ZOOM OUT effect?

    Hi,
I want to implement such an effect in flex:
Popup a modal window, which is showing as zooming out from
    the backgroud stage.
I know how to implement in flash, but how in flex?
    please help.
    thanks.

When you define the pop-up, set its scaleX and scaleY to
zero. Then assign its showEffect to a <mx:Zoom> effect. If
you don't set the initial scale to 0, you may briefly see the
pop-up at full size before the Zoom effect re-scales it to zero.
Note that your text may not scale: it depends on the font and
if the Flash player can scale it; you can always embed the font and
    it will work correctly.
You can make the Zoom effect either an MXML tag or create it
with ActionScript when you make the pop-up.

  • Zoom Blur Effect?

Does anyone have an implementation of a zoom / radial blur effect in Flex?
Or an idea to how it can be achieved by extending the Blur effect?
I'm not looking for blurring pictures in photoshop, but a live blur effect.

    hi,
Its Possible with  PixerBender a flash player 10 feature which is a new programming paradigm for manipulating pixels of your application on the fly.It works by taking pixels of your desired content from your application as byteArray and applies image manipulation algorithm known as kernels and give  proccessed output back to your app. For more information on it visit

  • How to create a Zoom like effect?

    Hello,
I have a Pane right now that I am drawing lines inside of. Its actually drawing coordinates coming back from my hardware device (a cnc controller).
What I would like to be able to do is mouse wheel in (or out) and only see a portion of the pane. Scaling does not seem to fit my need. Perhaps there is nothing out there like this? I am sorry if this is not clear. Here is a picture of my GUI.
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/rileyporter/8451829160/in/photostream
The pane is the red dashed outline. I would like to place my mouse say over the top of the green line... Mouse wheel up and have the red dashed lines stay where they are at, however only seeing the top of the green line filling the whole red dashed outline. I am not sure what / how to achieve this effect.
    Does that make sense?

Scaling does not seem to fit my need. Why not?
Can you describe in more detail what you tried, how you implemented it, how it behaved and how that behaviour differed from what you need?
Perhaps supplying a simple, sample test case of executable code as well might help get your question answered.

  • Zooming in and saving the effect

How do you save pictures where you have zoomed in?  I have pictures from an African safari and I want to zoom in and save them but after I zoom in and do other editing, the zoom effect disappears.  What can I do to save the zooming in effect?

Is this what you are trying to do?
Here I just want the blue bird. I used the Rectangular Marquee to select it.
Then Edit > Crop and save the result as a new file.
Or you can copy the selection to the clipboard (Edit > Copy) and do File > New from Clipboard.
The result is the same with either method:
