Zoom in in Preview Mode using a Magic Mouse?

I am used to using a track-pad where I can easily zoom in on a document while in Preview Mode using ALT+Scrolling.
Now I'm using the Magic Mouse and can't find a way to zoom in in Preview mode. ALT+Scrolling doesn’t work. Any ideas?

The mouse settings might override the ALT key (on a Mac?) assignment of Indesign. Check the extended mouse settings.

  • I am unable to pan my view using my magic mouse in maya.

i am unable to pan my view using my magic mouse in maya. panning needs a middle mouse button and there is no middle mouse button in magic mouse. scrolling sideways or up and down only zooms in and out. please help.

In Maya/Preferences/Interface/Devices, click "Two button" for "Mouse tracking." That will let you use opt+click for rotating, and opt+cmd+click for panning.
If you need actual middle mouse button functionality for any of the tools, then maybe the application Better Touch Tool can help. For the trackpad it has the option "Use special middleclick mode (for CAD users)," which works with three-finger click. I am not sure whether something similar will work for the Magic Mouse.

  • How can I use my Magic mouse in a Macbook pro?

I have an iMac and I'm using the magic mouse. I just got a Macbook Pro and would like to use the mouse with this computer too.
How can I make it work in both computers?
I won't use them at the same time of course. I use one during the day, and the other at night so I'm hoping to make the mouse work in both.
    Thanks in advance!!

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
You have been very helpful! I will try that! Thanks!!
PS: One last question, will it work if I put it in "sleep" mode or it has to be shut down?
    Thanks again!

  • Macbook Pro keyboard and track pad freezes after a day or two of using bluetooth Magic Mouse

The first time this happened I thought my 3 y/old 17" Macbook Pro had died. The mouse cursor had frozen to the top left of the screen and the keyboard was also frozen and no matter what I did it didnt unfreeze. Even restarting. I searched extensively online and the only solution offered was to re install the system software.
The next day I took it into work, opened it ip there and the cursor and keyboard was working again.
This led me to believe there was a conflict with my recently purchased Magic Mouse and/or bluetooth.  Even though I had been using the mouse for well over 3 weeks with no problem.
I resumed using the Magic Mouse with the computer for another week and then the keyboard/trackpad froze again. The Magic Mouse remained active.  This time, I took the batteries out of the mouse and took the computer downstairs. After a couple of hours everything is working fine again.
Has anyone had this experience and knows how to fix? Or am I resigned to using a wired mouse?

I have never encountered anything similar. However, try resetting the PRAM and SMC.

  • Smooth scrolling using a magic mouse

    Hi all,
I've recently made the switch to Mac (sporting a MacBook Pro 15" retina early 2013) from Windows. I'm still using Windows through Parallels since I need to use Visual Studio for my work as a developer.
Currently, I'm using a Razor DeathAdder mouse because it's simple, ergonomic (at least to my hand) However, scrolling in both OSX (10.9.4) and Windows (8.1) is a bit annoying since it's not smooth at all. It's quite "laggy", so to speak. Like it's scrolling in steps. I've tried some third party apps for OSX, but none of them have done the job in makeing the scrolling smoother.
Then I came to think: if I use the Magic Mouse from Apple, will I get the same smooth scrolling as I do on the touchpad? Because in both OSX and Windows, it's really nice and smooth when using the touchpad on the MacBook :-)
Can anyone confirm that scrolling is as smooth on the Magic Mouse, as it is on the touchpad in both OSX and Windows?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    All the best,
    Bo

Scrolling with the magic mouse is nice and smooth for me in both OS X and Windows (running in VirtualBox, I don't have boot camp set up as I don't need Windows that often any more and definitely have no need to boot it 'raw').

  • I lost my bluetooth after installation of Maverick2. Can anyone help me please, i cannot use my magic mouse on my Mac Book Pro  retina???

I lost my bluetooth after installation of Maverick2. Can anyone help me please, i cannot use my magic mouse on my Mac Book Pro  retina???

There is a fix; I finally discovered how to clear the Windows 7 xx64 Device Manager's warning of a missing Bluetooth Peripheral device.
Thinking Boot Camp 4.0 would correct thid, I installed it ititially today only to have the warning remain.
The Bluetooth company called Broadcom (you notice the reference during the installation of Boot Camp) offers a BlueTooth "device finder" (my phraseology) that detects all BlueTooth devices in your Apple or PC but withing a Windows operating system; included are Windows 7 , Vista, XP and even 2000 operating systems.
So download the 3 MB file, from Broadcom.com.  While your Bluetooth equipment is plugged in to the computer, run the program.  The program searches for any BlueTooth peripheral activated equipment and BlueTooth devices that makeup your MacBook Pro, or other Apple or a plain PC computer having a Windows operating system installed.  It then downloads the appropriate software required.
    The company's URL address:
    http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php
In my case, I ran the program, rebooted my MacBook Pro (in Windows 7 x64 and with the new Boot Camp 4.0 installed) and the missing BlueTooth peripheral device indication was eliminated.  It took 10 minutes to complete.

  • What kind of bluetooth dongle(usb) should I get to use my Magic Mouse properly?

My Mac Pro doesn't have bluetooth. What kind of bluetooth dongle(usb) should I get to use my Magic Mouse properly? I already have one, but it makes the mouse seriously lacking.

I keep the dongle plugged into the back of my apple 27" monitor so that means it is only 1 to 2 feet away from the mouse.  Don't plug it into the mac pro itself if that is at any distance from the mouse.  The closer you can keep the dongle to the mouse the better.
Do a smc and pram reset.
If all is lost, and you have xcode installed then you can do a bluetooth factory reset.
Note that if you should sleep your machine, power is off the usb's, so the dongle is off.  This means you cannot wake the machine with any BT devices like the mouse (I use a wired keyboard).  Also sometimes upon waking the machine the mouse does not immediately re-pair (maybe 20% of the time).  So you have to flip its switch to get the system's attention.
While I do have internal BT, using the dongle disables the internal (at least for 2010 mac pro's).
And of course BT would go inactive if you pulled the dongle out!

I have boot camp in my MacBook Pro to use AutoCAD. Can I use the magic mouse on my Windows side and use it to work in AutoCAD?

Yes and no. The gestures wont work so it just becomes a regular scroll-wheel mouse.

I suggest that you request this feature, as I have, at Apple's feature request site. Maybe if enough of us request this it will come in a future iOS release.

  • Accessory or Mod for the Magic Mouse to Give it Buttons?

Hi. The Magic Mouse is great when you're surfing, doing photos and things that. The freedom of one click mouse and gestures is great for these things when you don't need performance that much. It's a great mouse, easy to use and very relaxing for those tasks. But for gaming, most especially for shooters, it's not that great because it tends to click things by accident. I'd be nice to not have two mice for cost. Is there an accessory or a mod (link to that mod) that you can snap-on buttons for it (with scroll, there was a company who did that with the Apple puck mouse for the original iMac if I remember)?

    Hi OtterMN73
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
So stop using sandpaper for a mouse pad...
The Mouse is covered under the one year iMac warranty and for three if you have Apple Care. Jot down your iMac's serial number and drop by your Local Apple Store or Apple Service Provider and get it exchanged. > http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service/
