Zoom in to keyframes

Premiere CC ver 7.1 (but the same with earlier versions)
I have two keyframes within half a second of each other, a Scale effect. How in the effects control pannel can I zoom in to see the gap. Whichever end of the zoom slider I move it won't zoom in far enough, it just stops. On the sequence timeline I can zoom in all the way.
That what I thought when it first happened with CC, that was one reason I built a new pc, but still the error is there. At least I now know I can zoom in with keyboard short cuts. It's odd that the sequence zooming is fine, I would have thought the code would be the same.

Is there a way to manually adjust the vertical zoom in the keyframe editor?
I often want to zoom in on a particular set of keyframes so that I can adjust them, but there seems to only be options for horizontal zoom and autozoom. Is there a way to adjust the vertical zoom?

Hi guys,
I used a pan and zoom effect on one section of my video,
And now for some reason it's just slowly zooming in as the video goes on, and I can't seem to remove the effect at all.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
How did you apply the pan and zoom effect to your video? Please confirm that we are discussing pan and zoom effect applied to a video file and not a still.
a. Pan and Zoom Tool
b. Effects/Preset and one of the horizontal or vertical pan or zoom.
c. Keyframing the Scale property (for Zoom) and Position property (for Pan)?
With regard to "c"...if your clip is selected and you are in Properties Palette/Motion Panel expanded (Premiere Elements 10 and earlier) or Applied Effects Tab/Applied Effects Palette/Motion Panel expanded (Premiere Elements 11, 12, 13), is the Toggle Animation tab highlighted? Depending on your details, we could click on that and confirm that you want to remove keyframe(s) from the clip.

Also, how do you pre-set how long the photos are going to be (this is for a different purpose, but thought I'd go ahead and ask about this as well), say if you're making a stop motion video. It's very time consuming to adjust the time for each photo.

With the questions that you ask, you put us at a disadvantage by not saying at the onset what version of Premiere Elements that you are using and on what computer operating system it is running. Or, is it that you do not have any version of Premiere Elements at the present time?

1. Set Edit Menu/Preferences/General and set "Still Image Default Duration" BEFORE you import your photos into the project
2. Import photos, set duration of one with Time Stretch...then select that one, Edit Menu/Copy, select the rest Edit Menu/Paste Effects and Adjustments if you are in Premiee Elements 11.
3. If you are after a 1 frame photo duration for all visit the concept of Numbered Stills.

I suspect you are talking about pan and zooming. If so, Premiere Elements 11 has
a. Pan and Zoom Tool
b. Effects/Presets for pan OR zoom
c. Keyframing of the Motion/Scale (Zoom) and Position (Pan).

FCE crashes during Quicktime Export

FCE consistently crashes when exporting clip as Quicktime Movie. I am new to FCE.
When performing this Workflow (below), if I do NOT add the Zoom keyframes the clip exports fine.
This is the Workflow that causes the consistent crash of FCE.
Workflow
1. Set up as DV-NTSC
2. Import DV clip
3. double click clip in browser to add to Viewer
4. Click motion tab on Viewer
5. Add two KeyFrames
6. Set first Keyframe to 100% Zoom - set second Keyframe to 300% Zoom
7. Scrub Zoom profile in Viewer - looks fine
8, Drag dv clip from Viewer to Canvas
9. Scrub clip in timeline - looks good - zooms correctly
10. Select clip in timeline & select Sequence > "Render All" (it only comments on the audio)
11. File > Export > Quicktime Movie (self Contained or not - still crashes)
12. FCE crashes every time
I've added all Updates (though I cannot find an update for 3.5.1)
I've used StreamClip to alter the compression settings of the dv clip - no success.
I've deleted prefs & User Data folder.
Is there something more that I should be doing prior to attempting to export?

Howto: best way to remove audio
Ok, so I need some help with something that seems like it should be extremely simple. I have a video/audio clip and I need to replace the audio in 4 small sections of the larger clip.
Using the razor blade on the audio is how I am doing it now, but its so permanant (obviously) and I am afraid that if i clip too much and need to adjust in the future, I have to start all over.
I tried adjusting the audio level using key points but I couldnt get that to work. It wants to lower the audio level gradually, whereas I need it to cut immediately. Then come back up to normal level.
Please help. There has to be a simpler way to do this without cutting up the audio clip into a dozen pieces.

//digitalIf you do not need to do the Cuts, for the Video, you can just use Keyframes on the Audio, and can instantly drop the Volume over the course of one Frame (basically 1/30th sec.). Hint: when you go to add your Keyframes, zoom the view of the mini-Timeline way in, and set your Keyframe, then hit the cursor arrow key to advance 1 Frame, and set another Keyframe. Adjust this to the desired level of attenuation. If you are NOT zoomed in, the Keyframes will seem to be atop each other, and hard to get the cursor onto. Now, you can still use the Keyframe advance button, but it is so much easier to work in the zoomed in view, IMHO. No need to Cut the Audio.
You can still do it with the Cuts (just do it for the Audio Track - Target it), and then in the "pieces" that you wish to attenuate, drag the yellow-orange "rubberband" way down in that segment of the Clip. Hint: Show Volume Keyframes will need to be set in the Audio Track Header (should be by default).

How would you like the feature to work?
The same way Shift-Z can be used to Zoom to Timeline, it would be amazing if Shift-Z (or another shortcut) could be used to 'Zoom to Keyframes' whenever the ECW is the active window. This way, getting keyframes outside a clip's range into view for editing would be a quick 1 step process. Using the same shortcut again could toggle back to the default 'Pin to Clip' view.
Why is this feature important to you?
This proposed feature would be much faster to use compared to the current 'Pin to Clip' option in the ECW's Wing menu. When deselecting 'Pin to Clip', the zoom level remains the same, thus forcing the user to go through the added steps of zooming/scrolling/adjusting to get the keyframes into comfortable view for editing. A 1 step 'Zoom to Keyframes' toggle would be much more convenient than the current 'Disable 'Pin to Clip', zoom/scroll/adjust' method!

When disabling 'Pin to Clip' in order to see and edit keyframes that fall outside the bounds of a clip in the ECW, it would be very handy it the ECW's zoom level automatically defaulted to the correct setting in order to see all keyframes at a comfortable level. i.e. left(right)-most keyframe placed at the left(right) edge of the ECW, such that the all of the clip's keyframes fit across the visible work area. This would work the same way 'Zoom to Timeline' works, however it would be invoked automatically. Turning 'Pin to Clip' back on would automatically revert to the previous zoom level.
Why is this feature important to you?
An automatic 'Zoom to keyframes' feature in the ECW would make keyframe editing that much faster and more pleasant.Here's the FR I just posted. Does this fit along the lines of what you were suggesting Jim? If so, please post as your own FR.

How would you like the feature to work?
Just like users can use the mouse wheel to zoom and scroll a sequence by mousing over ANY part of the Timeline, it would be a great usability improvement for users to be allowed to do so in the ECW while moused over any part of the window instead of just over the tiny zoom bar.
Furthermore, the keyboard modifiers should remain consistent between the Timeline and the ECW. Thus, if ALT-mouse wheeling zooms in the Timeline, it should also zoom in the ECW!
Why the current lack of consistency?

Consistency, consistency, consistency! Consistency in a GUI makes it all the more user friendly, discoverable and efficient. For some reason, Adobe has painfully low consistency in its software, both between applications and between windows/element in single apps. Dedicating resources to a special 'Consistency Creation Task Force', or even more resources should an initiative like this already exist, could do wonders towards improving the software we use and depend on. Camera Layer Keeps Zooming in When Orbiting Between Two Keyframes
I have a simple 3D text layer. I set up a camera layer and placed it above the text layer in the timeline. I then used the camera orbit tool to set my two keyframes. I just want the camera to track slowly around the text about 60 degrees.
The problem I'm having is: In between the camera's two keyframes, it wants to zoom in and then zoom back out. This only happens right in the middle of the two keyframes. The camera starts out fine, starts to track, then zooms in, zooms back out, and then ends exactly where it should.
Does anybody know what I am doing wrong? This is driving me crazy.Does anybody know what I am doing wrong?
Yes, you are not adjusting the handles and creating a linear path. Also read this: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/422875?tstart=0 You are trying to make things a bit too simple, so I strongly recommend you read the help and study additional tutorials. Without the basics, you will forever get stuck on such simple things.

Is there a way to change the speed of a keyframe zoom effect on still photos? Clip duration doesn't seem to change the zoom speed at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Open the video animation (Control-v). In transform>All click and drag the X and Y keyframes (which should be together) – left to speed up the scale change and right to slow it down . It may take a little practice to get this to work (I seldom get it right the first try).
You could do this individually for each clip, or you wanted to adjust multiple clips you can copy and paste attributes to your other other clips.

Newb - interpolation of keyframes to ZOOM in smoothly?
I'm new to After Effects and have CS3.
What I simply want to do is zoom in some footage from 100% to 150%.
But I don't want the motion to be linear, I want it to be smooth and ramping up and ramping down so it doesn't look jerky.
Lets say I have my two keyframes, one on frame 01 that says "scale 100%" and the other a second later that says "scale 150%". The zoom movement is linear.
How do I change it to what I want ?See this help section on keyframe interpolation. Should be also valid for CS3.

Keyframing Pan/Zoom - How To Simplify?
I want to do a simple effect where I start the clip centered at 100% and zoom to off-center at 120%. So basically, keyframing size and position over the clip's length.
In order to do that, I do the following steps:
1. Select the clip in the timeline
2. Ensure the CTI is at the beginning of the clip
3. Select the effects panel
4. Open the position section and set a keyframe for size and another keyframe for position
5. Go back to the clip in the timeline and hit "End" to ensure CTI is at the end of the clip (the "End" key doesn't move the CTI in the keyframing panel)
6. Go back to the effects panel
7. Set a keyframe for size and another keyframe for position
8. In the monitor, use the frame to expand and move the frame as needed.Alternatively, type in a number in the zoom percentage field.
That's a lot of freaking steps to do something that I do a lot!
Ideally, I'd like to at least be able to click a single key and have PP automatically:
Create a zoom keyframe at the first frame of the selected clip
Create a zoom keyframe at the last frame of the selected clip
Create a position keyframe at first frame of the selected clip
Create a position keyframe at the last frame of the selected clip.
Does anybody know of an easy way to do this? I would think keyframed Pan/Zoom has to be one of the most common effects, and I can't believe it takes so much mousing and clicking to do such a simple effect!
I have a gaming keyboard, so I could program some keystroke macros, but I don't think I could program switching between panels so any solution would have to be entirely keyboard-based.

I have noticed that thing where the keyframing seems to go one frame past the end. Was never clear on what the deal was with that - like do you need to go back 1 frame or not, and if so, is that a feature or a bug? I've always gone back 1 frame, too.
Something I found that looks promising is here.
I wonder if I can select a clip and put in the 4 keyframes (Position @ start; Position @ end - 1; Scale @ start; Scale @ end - 1) and then save "Motion" as a Preset with Type = Scale?
Then I could just apply that saved Preset Effect to any clip and automatically have the 4 keyframes added?
ETA: Another site here seems to say that will work. They call it the "Ken Burns effect". -
Is it possible to keyframe footage to maintain same zoom?
I have footage of a person in front of a green screen, which is overlaid in front of an image of a waterfall. When I captured the footage of the person in front of the green screen, I zoomed in slowly to a point. How do I maintain the same scale of the footage of the person throughout the play of the clip of the waterfall? I have been trying to keyframe the settings of the beginning of the clip and can't figure out how to maintain the same size of the person throughout the composite edit - thus eliminating the zoom of the person.
there's no perfect solution to your problem (other than reshooting).
try creating a freeze frame of the end of the clip where the shot is full zoomed in, then overlay this freeze over the original clip using a 50% opacity. use that overlay as a reference to keyframe from beginning to end of the underlying clip to remove the apparent zoom -

It's better because you can "zoom" in or out of the area you want more precisely. For example, placing the anchor point on someone's eyeball and then scaling up will zoom directly to it. You can do the same thing with position keyframes, but I find it less precise, and takes more finagling.

How do I zoom in and out on a clip using final cut pro 6?
I have searched around and I haven't found anything about how to zoom in and out on non-still video. I am sure there is some simple explanation as of how to do this but I can't seem to find it. If you guys could help me out that would be great. Thanks.
Double click the clip in the Timeline, to place it in the viewer.
In the Viewer window click the Motion tab. Adjust the "Scale" control and set keyframes as needed.

My Lightroom 4 Develop module panel is no longer in color.
My Lightroom 4 Develop module panel is no longer in color (as in the temp/tint, etc.) are all black and white. How do I fix this? I heard it is because I updated my mac software - but why would that change the color of the tools in lightroom 4??
