Zoom not working after screensaver + monitor standby

I have the following problem:
When Mac OS X Lion starts the screensaver and some minutes later turns the monitor off, it does not wake up by a touch of the trackpad and also after woken up using the keyboard it also breaks the zoom function. I mean the CTRL+Scrolling zoom. I tested and confirmed this bug on two seperate machines in OS X Lion 10.7.
When I turn the screensaver off.. the monitor will just go black after some time, but I can wake it up by touching the trackpad and zooming is still working. So I guess it must be the screensaver killing my zoom function.
Can anyone confirm / reproduce this behavior?

I have this zoom problem too with my mini and the 27" monitor and track pad. I didn't realize it was related to the screen saver. I thought it might be related to Time Machine because that's all I saw in the console before it happened. I rebooted and tested that and that wasn't it. I don't usually use the screen saver since I have a hot corner for screen blanking but I guess sometimes I walk off without putting it to sleep or anything and it goes into screen saver mode when I'm not looking.
I found somebody who said they had issues with Control/Scroll for zoom with Lion so I changed mine to Command/Scroll and that doesn't help this problem. It still gets locked out sometimes.
I use Zoom all the time because I have the 27" monitor at the foot of my bed some 6' from my eyeballs. I don't know if it was related to whatever was causing kernel panic and seg faults with my Macbook Pro and Snow Leopard. I gave up on that thing and got this mini. So far it doesn't crash when I do video intensive stuff, so I've got that going for me. Robooting to get zoom back is better than a kernel panic, but not much.
Looking forward to a fix.

It sounds like after updating to 10.9 the zoom function is not functioning at all. It sounds like you may need to check for 3rd party plugins. This article will help you check for that.

Safari 7.0 zoom not working after Mavericks upgrade.

Since upgrading my late 2009 iMac to Mavericks and Safari 7.0 the zoom function in Safari (cmd and +) doesn't work properly. I used to use the zoom in Safari at the beginning of my session to help me read pages a little easier and zoom remained at the level I set it at but after upgrading the text reverts to actual size every time a new page is loaded. It's becoming a bit of a pain to reset the zoom on every page load. I've tried everything I can think of to resolve this but without success. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Tecra M7: Tablet does not work after lid closing

Has anyone had problems with the tablet not working after closing the lid on a Tecra M7? Bios is 3.20
Doesn't seem to happen on hibernate or sleep.
I have the lid set to do nothing on close.

What do you mean with tablet not working after closing the lid?
Does the notebook freezes or what?? What happens exactly???
The close the lid settings can be set to hibernation mode or standby mode or no action.
These settings can be set in the power saver setup actions.
If you have some problems with some installed Toshiba applications I would recommend reinstalling the TOSHIBA Common Modules and the program which doesnt run correctly!

Do you get a steady green light to say there is a connection. If not, are the batteries the right way round. Do you have a monitor to tell the batteries strength. Is there a reading. Are the batteries good quality ones, Duracell, Energiser or Apple rechargeables.

PCI wireless card does not work after restart - FM2-A55M-E33

Installed TP-LINK WN751ND wireless PCI card onto FM2-A55M-E33 motherboard. The card works fine after cold start, but does not work after restart. Windows recognises the card, but it gets code 10, cannot start.
BIOS is updated (v.11.1), as well as drivers and Windows 7 64.
I suspect that this might be the issue: Incorrect ASPM Transitions on the GPP Interface as found in ChipsetMotherboard_TechDocs/48671.pdf on AMD's official support site.
Does anyone know more about this issue?

Great! I've done that and now my card shows up. Thing is, when I try to get an IP address, it won't work. Here is the command output:
ieee80211 phy0: wl_ops_config: change monitor mode: false (implement)
ieee80211 phy0: wl_ops_config: change power-save mode: false (implement)
ieee80211 phy0: wl_ops_bss_info_changed: qos enabled: false (implement)
And then it times out and no IP is assigned. The thing is, wpa_supplicant stays alive after this time out, and I am unable to kill it (killall -9 wpa_supplicant won't kill it). At this point if I try to reboot the machine, it will stop at 'Rebooting' and won't go anywhere. If I turn off the wireless card in its switch Linux crashes. If I try to get an ip again (by running dhcpcd) the command will hang and not return to the shell anymore.
I am unable to find any useful information in the logs.
Got any more suggestions?

Thank you for your interest. Last night i tried again. It worked. there is still problem, so i could find out it that monitor is going to power saving mode then voice goes out and no view on monitor. I changed the power saving settings. And worked well. Thnx again.

Print size in Photoshop CC does not work after updating

Print size in Photoshop CC does not work after updating, it was working fine before but now when I click to go to print size either from the menu of right chicking when the hand tool is selected, the image just zooms right out until it is a tiny little box in the centre of the screen, no good what so ever, as I say it was working fine before the update.
I am using window 7 with 8 gb of ram and an I7 with a 1GB graphics card.
Can anyone help please?

Check the Image>Image Size and see what the print size is supposed to to be for the open document.
Also, resetting the photoshop cc preferences might fix it.

Internet not working after installing "StarTech Thunderbolt Docking Station" driver

My Internet is not working after installing "StarTech Thunderbolt Docking Station" driver although "Ethernet" and "wireless" say they're connected, still there is no internet.
I have bought a "StarTech Thunderbolt Docking Station" as I need to use 2 thunderbolt based pieces of equipment on my "MacBook Pro"; which are a 2nd monitor as well as a Thunderbolt driven Audio Interface.
When I first plugged all my equipment to the "StarTech Thunderbolt Docking Station" everything was working fine, all pieces of equipment worked as well as Ethernet from both the computer and the docking station were working perfectly.
However, when I inserted the "StarTech Thunderbolt Docking Station driver CD" and installed the drivers, the internet on my computer has stopped working. Although the Ethernet says it is "connected" (same goes for "Thunderbolt Ethernet" when cable is connected to it) still the internet does not work. Even my wireless internet is not working anymore. Furthermore, also after installing the Docking Station drivers, my iTunes is crashing whenever started.
Please help, this is really urgent.
I've been looking for answers all around but can't seem to find any.
I'm using OSX Mavericks 10.9.2
I've tried fixing stuff with Network preferences, like changing IP address, renewing DHCP leace.
I also tried typing IP address, Subnet Mask, Router and DNS Sever manually... Nothing seems to be working.
Note: I know someone could suggest to "uninstall" the Thunderbolt Station driver, however, I can't find an "uninstallation file", even the CD that came with the docking station does not have it.

I had exactly the same problem today, and I was lucky enough to solve it.
Here's what helped me:
First, I found a hint to Suspicious Package in this thread.
With Suspicious Package installed, I was able to identify the script in StarTech's installer pkg. It' called "postflight".
Amongst other things, postflight runs this command:
sudo mv usr/share/sandbox/mDNSResponder.sb usr/share/sandbox/_mDNSResponder.sb
A quick check in Apple's knowledge base revealed, that the mDNSResponder is essential to use DNS (i.e. to resolve server names like www.apple.com) and bonjour.
I moved th mDNSResponder back to where it belongs:
sudo mv usr/share/sandbox/_mDNSResponder.sb usr/share/sandbox/mDNSResponder.sb
After a reboot, everything worked fine again.
I have no idea, why StarTeck disables an essential tool. Let's assume it's an error ...
But after this experience, I didn't want the StarTech ethernet driver on my machine (I had installed it just for curiosity, anyway - yes, I know, I shouldn't have ...), so I removed the kext the installer had copied to my system:
sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleIntel8 2580.kext /Users/myusername
(You see I didn't delete the kext directly, I just moved it away and tried another reboot. Now everything works fine, so I'm going to delete the kext entirely and paint a big red cross on StarTech's installer disk.

Auto-Detect Screen Resolution Does Not Work Across Multiple Monitors With Different Resolutions

The Acrobat Pro DC (15.007.20033.2203) auto-detect screen resolution feature does not work with multiple monitors at different resolutions. Acrobat looks fine on my hidpi primary laptop display (Razr 14" 2014) but is completely unusable if I drag or extend the application to a standard HD resolution secondary monitor. Dragging Acrobat from my primary desktop display to the secondary display causes the UI elements to become 2x as large as they should be and makes Acrobat unusable.
Is there a way to make Acrobat auto-detect the display that it is currently on?

To prevent it from happing again, you can
1. go to the Mouse preference and turn off the scroll zoom feature.
2. go to the Universal Access preference and disable the zoom features.

Mine is even weirder, but maybe I can help.
First, a number of people are reporting that the zoom feature seems to stop working after the computer goes to sleep. You get it back if you reboot. However, a simpler solution is that you can move the cursor to a screen corner - one you have set up to start a screen saver - and when you move the cursor away to stop the screen saver, the zoom works again. Still a bug, but fairly easy to deal with until your computer goes to sleep again.
Mine is really weird because, as I was working to try to get zoom to work before finding out this other stuff, somehow I ended up with a situation where if I turn on zoom, the screen instantly zooms and I can't get it to unzoom except by turning off zoom. However, even though zoom is then turned off, I can zoom the screen as if it is on!
So, besides trying the trick of activating the screen saver, you might try turning off zoom and see if it will still zoom.

I have exactly the same issue as everyone above. I only get sound through the slider on the ringtone in settings and through my headphones. I do not get any sound anywhere else at all.
I Have tried:
- Updating to iOS 6.1.3
-re starting the device
-checking that the device is not muted. My slider switch is set to mute rather than lock and is unmuted.
-going into general settings and reset all settings
-the device reset several times (waiting until I saw the all important apple logo)
-removing the last few apps I installed.
Nothing at all has worked, please help!
