Zoom out issue on shared members

Hi All,
While doing Ad-Hoc Analysis on EPMA planning app using Smartview, When I zoom out on a shared member, It is showing its original parent rather than the shared member parent. Is this a bug?
Planning version is 11.1.2.3 and Smartview is 11.1.2.5.

Hi
I am not sure its a bug. This behaviour has been around for a while. How your zoom out works depends on what you have in your report.
So, if all you have in your report is the shared member, with no reference to other areas of the shared dimension essbase has no way of knowing you have the shared member. It thinks it is the stored member and will always zoom out on the stored primary hierarchy.
Try this. On the report also have the total parent of the shared hierarchy in addition to the shared member. So what I am saying is that if you drill down in report, always drill inclusive of the total of the shared hierarchy. Then essbase has a reference to drill back up the shared hierarchy.
Thanks
Anthony

  • Essbase Error log issue for Shared Members

    I am loading Shared members for a custom dimension in Essbase.
    Error log is getting created as below.
    \\Record #1 - Warning: Account Only attributes cannot be set in non-Accounts dimensions

    But that specific member is getting loaded.
    I am loading only shared member in this load and all records are shown as getting rejected even though most of them are getting loaded.This is causing issues in finding out real rejects.

  • "Zoom out" on shared member defaults to different hierarchy??

    Hi Guys,
    I've created a shared member Cost Centre hierarchy in my outline. When I "zoom in" to the shared member hierarchy to level 0, then try zoom back out, level 1 is no longer the shared members level 1 as I've defined in my new shared member hierarchy.
    Instead, level 1 (from zooming out of the level 0 shared member) defaults to the rollup associated with the member that the shared member points to?? Is there a way to make the zoom out of a shared member from level 0, zoom to the level 1 in the shared members hierarchy and not the associated member that the shared member point to?
    I really hope that makes sense to you guru's :-)
    Thanks
    Dermott.

    That's the way Essbase has worked from time immemorial. Annoying, isn't it?You think it's annoying in the UI? It is really annoying in the API.. A standard way to walk a tree structure is the 'preorder walk algorithm' which essentially walks down the children of the tree, the next sibling(s), then back to the parent, etc until eventually the original root node is encountered signaling that all nodes have been visited. With the behavior of Essbase described in this thread, a preorder walk actually goes into an endless loop when the 'parent' is the 'real' parent of a member and not the shared member 'parent'.

  • Firefox box around zoomed out images issue w/ (xf86-video-intel)

    When I zoomout on a page firefox displays a insetted box around my images.
    Most notably in my webmail client, however it happens even on the forums if I zoomout.
    Regualar zoom: http://world.pyther.net/files/Firefox/regular_zoom.png (The way it should look)
    Zoomed Out: http://world.pyther.net/files/Firefox/zoom_out.png (Inset boxes around images)
    This happens with both the offical arch build of firefox and the spookyet build. I have no idea how to fix this, it is very annoying!
    Any help would be great!
    EDIT:
    After doing some more research I have narrowed this down to being an issue with xf86-video-intel. The problem does not happen if I use the xf86-video-vesa driver. I have filed a bug report at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468366

  • Shared members issue

    Hi to all,
    I've a Problem with the shared members in a excel spreadsheet. I need to see all members in a specific dimension (shared members included). using members selection dialog box, i'm using the view method "by generation name" and the output option Supress shared members (cleared) but the shared members are filtered in the results. Using by level name is the same result.
    could you help me?
    I'm usign essbase 9.0 and add in vs 9.0
    Thanks in advance

    Certainly sounds odd... did you check the preview to see if they show up there?
    I'm just thinking it might be a post processing issue, because I haven't heard of this being an issue before so if it is there may be some option setting that is tripping it up.
    Let us know if they show up in the preview -- and if you have a suitable way to test other outlines or dimensions with similar circumstances it might help to check the preview on them as well.

  • New Premiere user, 3 issues : zooming out, changing keyboard shortcuts, removing gain

    Hi there,
    Former FCP user here transitioning to Premiere, first time on this forum.
    I have 3 separate issues when using Premiere cc or 2014 :
    1/ When I try to zoom out using my tablet, I press 'z' to select the zoom tool, then hold the 'alt' key and click multiple times. But only several (one or two at most) clicks are taken into account, and after one or two clicks, the software seems to forget the alt key and starts zooming in. I'm aware of the 'minus' key shortcut on the keyboard, but a lot of times it would be much faster for me to do it this way. Is there a way to fix this ?
    2/ I want to switch the hotkey "return" from "rendering effects" to "rendering selection". But when I try to hit 'return' in the shortcut window (after selecting the right action and getting the prompt box), it assumes I'm selecting 'Ok' and leaves... Any idea how I should do ?
    3/ This one should be easier but I can't seem to find it : how do I remove the gain control line from the clips on the timeline ? I keep changing the audio gain when all I want to do is grab a clip.
    Thanks a bunch !

    Yes, I tried scrapping my preferences, but to no avail. I should perhaps have specified that my program runs in International English, but the keyboard is French. However, this is the first time using PS that this problem has arisen.

  • Zoom out shortcut issue on Reader 10.1.3 with AZERTY keyboard

    On French installation (Win FR + AZERTY keyboard) there is issue with (at least) one short-cut:
    Zoom arrière Ctrl+tiret (zoom out using Ctrl + -) doesn't work; Reader X confuses it with Ctrl + 6 and opens a comment window...
    Note that 6 and - are on the same key on an AZERTY keyboard...
    I'm running 10.1.3 version
    Will this issue be fixed?

    To complement information:
    1/ Zoom in doesn't have this issue:
    both Ctrl + Numpad + and Ctrl + = are working
    On AZERTY keyboard = and + are on same key.
    2/ When using Ctrl + Numpad - , I observe same behaviour as Ctrl + 6 (opens a box to comment)...
    Can you at least fix Ctrl + Numpad - for zoom out?
    (this won't be unversal but will at leas save 90% of the issues)

  • EPMA Shared Members not reflecting in Planning application post deployment

    Hi,
    I have added a member in 'Entity' dimnesion. The same member is also added in an alternate hiererchy as shared member (Using Insert member option in dimension library). When I refresh the application view, I do see both the original member and shared member in application vieiw. But post deployment, only the base member is reflected in planning application and not the shared member.
    I have redeployed the application multiple times now, but i am still not able to see the shared members reflected in Planning application.
    Kindly let me know if you have any idea on the same or faced a similar issue?

    Have you patched up EPMA with patches from Metalink3
    9.3.1.1 Patch includes -

  • Smartview: shared members on level o has a prefix of level 1

    Hi,
    I'm using smartview 11.1.2.3. I have a dimension with multiple parallel hierarchies: level1a->level0, level1b->level0, level1c->level0,
    as a result the level 0 members which apears below level1b and level1c are shared members. when I'm "zooming in" in"smartview" from
    level1b/level1c, the shared members apears as level1a.level0 or level1b.level0. (zooming in from level1a gives a correct result ->level0),
    did someone encounter this issue?
    thanks,
    Yuval

    Yuval check this Oracle - Hyperion Labs......: Smart View issues with alternate Hierarchy - Surprises in Essbase Part V
    Seems like something changed (maybe from a patch in 11.1.2.2, not sure about the patch because I've a vanilla 11.1.2.2 with this issue) from 11.1.2.2

  • UDAs re shared members and Intersect

    I'm INTERSECTing two sets:
    Leaf-level from [Entities].CurrentMember and
    UDA([Entities],"myuda" (also leaf-level)
    This intersection works appropriately on my primary stored hierarchy but not on any of my alternative hierarchies (also stored). It does work when I zoom to the leaf level in the alternate hierarchy but not any of the rollups.
    I had assumed the UDA on the shared member (in the alternate hierarchies) would acquire the UDA of its stored member. However, it doesn't appear to be working that way.
    Can anyone shed any light on this issue or suggest a different approach?
    Thanks,
    Barb

    We're using shared members in 11.1.1.2, in both dense and sparse dimensions. So, the good news is that it can be done. The bad news is that I'm not sure why you're experiencing this issue.
    Will you provide some additional details about the dimension where you're having this issue? Is it in a shared library, or a local library? Is there any chance that the prototype member (the original non-shared member) is set to "NeverShare"? Unfortunately, EPMA will allow users to select certain settings that cause problems downstream. (And sometimes it won't allow perfectly valid settings.)

    hi John,
    Here i'm building the dimension through generation build method.
    setting the properties as
    Field, Dimension, Field Type, Field Number
    Field1,Product,Generation,2
    Field2,Product,property,2
    Field3,Product,Generation,3
    Field4,Product,Generation,4
    After mapping it shows dimensions are correctly mapped.
    When i load the source file and the rule file, it shows error partially loaded data,.And it doesn't shows the shared member property. That is what asked How to modify the source file for building shared members using Rules file.

  • Mapviewer view zoomed out within BI report

    Hello,
    I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue with a mapviewer map within a BI report showing the map zoomed way out. This map is a FL state map with the cities within the states marked. The geometry theme "FL_CITIES" preview fine on the MapBuilder.jar client application.
    However, when rendering the map in OBI report, Mapview just shows a grey screen. When I click on the map, then a small map of FL displays, but it is zoomed out.
    I tried to update the mapZoom to a different number on
    mapview.setZoomLevel(mapZoom);
    but there is no change in rendering of the map.
    Has anyone else encountered this behavior? I'm on 10.1.3.3. I've cut and pasted the showMap() function:
    function showMap()
    baseURL = "http://"+document.location.host+"/mapviewer";
    var mpoint = MVSdoGeometry.createPoint(-82.6, 28.2,8307);
    mapview = new MVMapView(document.getElementById("map"), baseURL);
    var mapZoom = 0;
    mapview.addBaseMapLayer(new MVBaseMap("MVDEMO.DEMO_MAP"));
    mapview.setZoomLevel(mapZoom);
    mapview.addCopyRightNote(
    "<font color=black>"+
    "Oracle MapViewer"+
    "</font>"+
    "&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp");
    mapview.addMapTileLayer(new MVBaseMap("elocation_mercator.world_map","http://elocation.oracle.com/mapviewer/mcserver" ));
    var mapZoom=5;
    mapview.addCopyRightNote("Oracle eLocation - &#169;2008 Oracle Corp. &#169;2008NAVTEQ&#8482;");
    mapview.addNavigationPanel("WEST",false,false,null);
    mapview.setCenter(mpoint);
    mapview.setZoomLevel(mapZoom);
    flFOI = new MVThemeBasedFOI('flFOI','mvdemo.fl');
    mapview.addThemeBasedFOI(flFOI);
    countiesFOI = new MVThemeBasedFOI('countiesFOI','mvdemo.fl_counties');
    mapview.addThemeBasedFOI(countiesFOI);
    regionsFOI = new MVThemeBasedFOI('regionsFOI','mvdemo.fl_cities');
    regionsFOI.setRenderingStyle("V.UI_DATA_CITIES");
    //setupNsdp(regionsFOI);
    regionsFOI.setBoundingTheme(true);
    // regionsFOI.enableLabels(true);
    mapview.addThemeBasedFOI(regionsFOI);
    mapview.display();

  • Bug? Zooming out via key shortcut won't stop when zooming out (Mac OS 10.7.3)

    Hey,
    while I created a new document, I started to zoom in/out particular areas of the images using the key shortkuts <space>+<cmd> for zooming in and <space>+<cmd>+<alt> for zooming out of an area.
    While this works fine in my Photoshop CS5, it troubbles in CS6:
    Once I want to zoom out (via <space>+<cmd>+<alt> and a left-mouseclick), the zooming won't stop until it reached the smallest zoom level, instead of zooming out just a step. It however works, while I zoom in (via <space>+<cmd> and a left-mouseclick).
    I'm so used to this shortcut since a cupple of versions now (it also works in other programms as well) and it is realy annoying.
    It also happens that when I press <space> and another key (e.g. to zoom in/out) that Photoshop CS6 does sometimes not release the hand-tool, that I use to move the canvas via holing <space> and left-mouse down. Pressing <space> again solve this. However, I would exspect the hand-/move-tool only to work while <space> is pressed.
    Thanks.

    Hey,
    > Do you run into the issue in Photoshop it the case when you use <CMD>+< - > ?
    No, works fine. Although its not the best alternative, because my method allows to "specify" the zooming region (due to the mouse position)
    > Did you try to reset the zoom tool (Right-click on the magnifier icon on the option bar?)
    I did do a reset, but it didn't influence the "bad" behavior.
    > Do you have a key repeater function activated in the OS (accessibility?)?
    None that I know of. Couldn't find any. But if so, shouldn't it affect the zooming in as well (which isn't the case)?
    > If you never use the animated zoom, you can disable it in Photoshop>preferences>general>animated zoom.
    I tried both: enabled it causes the mentioned "error" behavior. Disabled the zoom out stops but its remarkably unresponsive: Once I use the key combination and click the left-mouse-btn it takes seconds before the zoom out happes; the process _feels_ quite long.
    Best,

  • Problems zooming out with a Flash Banner

    I have created a Flash banner for the home page of my website.  Here is the link to the page I am working on:  http://adirondackvic.org/CSSTest9July2012-2.html
    When I zoom in to increase the size of the web page, the Flash banner rescales automatically.  However, when I zoom out, to decrease the size of the web page, the Flash banner does not automatically rescale.  It remains the same size and you have to hit the refresh button to get it to rescale to fit the newly resized page.
    Is there a fix for this?  I searched the forum and the web and have not found an answer.  I put a question on this in another forum, but received no responses. I found some discussions of the issue on the web and on this forum, but I was not able to figure out how to incorporate the suggestions into my page.  I tried changing the scale from exactfit to showall, as recommended, but that created a problem with the appearance of the page. (The banner no longer fit properly into the header window.) I also tried (as recommended by one of the entries in this forum) to change width="100%" height="100%" or width="100%" height="auto".  This fixed the problem for Internet Explorer, but then the entire banner disappeared in Firefox.
    Please help!  I am at my wit's end....  Thank you.  ellen

    iDevices are pretty much dead hardware since they dont support popular flash. How many mac forums are filled with people complaining about Apples choice not to support it. And with much better hardware coming out like the Samsung line there are better choices then iStuff.
    The evidence does not support that position.
    As expected,  Adobe has stopped developing Flash on mobile devices (iOS and Android)
