"Zoom out" on shared member defaults to different hierarchy??

Hi Guys,
I've created a shared member Cost Centre hierarchy in my outline. When I "zoom in" to the shared member hierarchy to level 0, then try zoom back out, level 1 is no longer the shared members level 1 as I've defined in my new shared member hierarchy.
Instead, level 1 (from zooming out of the level 0 shared member) defaults to the rollup associated with the member that the shared member points to?? Is there a way to make the zoom out of a shared member from level 0, zoom to the level 1 in the shared members hierarchy and not the associated member that the shared member point to?
I really hope that makes sense to you guru's :-)
Thanks
Dermott.

That's the way Essbase has worked from time immemorial. Annoying, isn't it?You think it's annoying in the UI? It is really annoying in the API.. A standard way to walk a tree structure is the 'preorder walk algorithm' which essentially walks down the children of the tree, the next sibling(s), then back to the parent, etc until eventually the original root node is encountered signaling that all nodes have been visited. With the behavior of Essbase described in this thread, a preorder walk actually goes into an endless loop when the 'parent' is the 'real' parent of a member and not the shared member 'parent'.

  • Shared member dimension build

    I am trying to create a load rule that creates a shared member at a different generation. I looked at the dbag and it mentioned using the Parent/Child method with "Do Not Share" unchecked. But during testing, it moves the member instead of creating a shared member. Am I leaving something out? thanks

    You cannot move shared members with a load rule. It will always end up moving the original member. What we had to do was to load a file with DummyParent DummyChild to delete all the members in the dimension (remove unspecified checked), and then rebuild the dimension with a new file where the shared member appears under its new parent.BKhanna

  • Ken Burns default is "Zoom In" so why does it randomly "Zoom Out?"

    I first noticed that the default zoom in was inexplicably and randomly reversing when I applied KB in one go to a bunch of selected stills.
    Thinking that applying it to multiple images at once may be the cause, I tested it on a series of single photos.
    The results were similar.
    Sometimes the first 3 or 4 would be OK and then random slides would start zooming out. Occasionally the zoom direction would reverse on alternate pictures.
    Just in case there was something peculiar about the different clips, I duplicated one several times but still got the random zoom when I applied KB.
    I use 2 ways of applying the KB effect to still images but they both give random zoom directions:-
    The first method is to select KB using the Crop tool in the Viewer.
    This image shows the correct default but the next 3 I selected were all reversed even though I did not touch the "Reverse" button at the top.
    The other method is to select KB in the Inspector.
    Could some of you try to replicate my random results by testing on at least 6 photos?
    More importantly, can you give a reason or suggest a cure (other than telling me to manually adjust each image).

  • Zoom out issue on shared members

    Hi All,
    While doing Ad-Hoc Analysis on EPMA planning app using Smartview, When I zoom out on a shared member, It is showing its original parent rather than the shared member parent. Is this a bug?
    Planning version is 11.1.2.3 and Smartview is 11.1.2.5.

    Hi
    I am not sure its a bug. This behaviour has been around for a while. How your zoom out works depends on what you have in your report.
    So, if all you have in your report is the shared member, with no reference to other areas of the shared dimension essbase has no way of knowing you have the shared member. It thinks it is the stored member and will always zoom out on the stored primary hierarchy.
    Try this. On the report also have the total parent of the shared hierarchy in addition to the shared member. So what I am saying is that if you drill down in report, always drill inclusive of the total of the shared hierarchy. Then essbase has a reference to drill back up the shared hierarchy.
    Thanks

  • Zoom defaults to zoom out (-) rather than zoom in (+)

    A few days ago, while working in Photoshop (CS5), my zoom magnifying glass switched to a minus (zoom out, -) by default rather than a plus (+). I can hit ALT to get it to zoom in (+), but would like to change it back to zoom in (+) as my default. I can't see anything in preferences to fix this. Has anyone got an answer for me on how I can correct this? Please and thank you.

    Thank you. That's exactly what it was! I never even noticed those little buttons before.

  • TS3293 In different applications sometimes I can't make any zoom out or in?

    I have problem with some application on my iPad when no zoom out or in works!

    Sometimes theyre coded that way. Some of my apps I can't zoom in or out on.

  • In Pages, on my iPad, how do I zoom out beyond the default view?

    In MS Word, you can choose a full page view which displays the entire document as a full page (it's zoomed out to where you can see the entire document plus a couple of inches  around the document).  Is this possible in Pages on the iPad?  If so... how is it done?
    Thank You!

    Unfortunately, it seems I am not going to be able to do what I want to do (as you mentioned, Demo) - like in Word, it's the "one page" view which allows you to, "zoom the document so that an entire page fits in the window" (see pictured).
    I guess I'll just have to adjust
    Thank you both!

  • How to set the zoom out or in for all pages permanently?

    I wish to set my page size one size smaller than the default.
    The result of ctr - (zoom out) is exactly what I want (it decreases the size of text AND images). However this effect only lasts for the page I am currently on, as soon as I navigate to a different page (or just refresh the page I am at), it reverts back to the default size.
    I looked at Tools->Options->Content, however that deals only with text size (besides it looks only certain pages are affected by this setting anyway).
    In other words, how (or where) do I set my browser to automatically decrease size or 'Zoom Out' for all the pages I visit in order not to set it manually for every page every time.
    Regards
    PS.
    If this setting can be applied for individual users (I have a multi user PC) that would be even better, although I would be very grateful if I could just set it.
    PPS.
    Additional information. I just discovered it seems to be working now in normal browsing but not in private browsing, my apologies for the omission.

  • Make table of contents links keep current zoom level, not zoom out to full page

    When Indesign creates tables of contents, they automatically link to the paragraphs the links point to, so that in an interactive PDF, clicks and prods take the user to that page. Great.
    What's not so great is, that the hyperlinks / cross-references / jump-links / whatever that are created behind the scenes within the table of contents appear to:
    ...be automatically set to reset the zoom to full page width
    ...not be editable in any way
    Normal cross references retain the zoom level that the user has chosen, and normal hyperlinks that point to a page in the document have a range of settings about what zoom level change (if any) should be imposed on the user, which can be set to 'inherit zoom'.
    How do I set up a table of contents that doesn't annoy users by resetting their chosen zoom level to an artitrary default when they use the interactive table of contents?
    I'm really hoping I don't have to ditch Indesign's table of contents feature and create every cross reference manually.

    (editted) So it turns out that you can 'expand' a table of contents by copying and pasting it - this fills the hyperlinks panel with links that can be editted (like above) but breaks the auto-update - they're no longer a TOC, they're just a text frame full of links. (I had got different copies mixed up when I thought the frame holding the editable links was also auto-updating)
    The greying out of the links was a red herring, just something to do with the fact they were on a master page.
    It does mean that one possible TOC workflow is:
    Create a TOC on the pasteboard somewhere.
    Before finalising the document, update this TOC and alt-drag the 'live' TOC creating an editable 'dead' copy in an appropriate place in the document
    Edit the link properties of the links in the 'dead' copy (don't forget that you can select multiple hyperlinks at once by holding down shift, and edit things like the Zoom Setting all at once with Hyperlink Options in the Hyperlinks flyout menu. )
    Then, if you make other changes to the document later on, delete the dead copy, update and re-copy the live original, and re-do the changes to the new copy
    This isn't a bad method - it just adds about a minute's work each time you export a PDF (delete, update TOC, alt-drag, shift-select the new batch of .XXXX links at the bottom of the Hyperlinks panel, > Hyperlink Options, Zoom Setting  > Inherit Zoom, done).
    Alternatively, you could manually build a TOC using cross-references if you want links to the exact position on the page, not just the top of the appropriate page.

  • How to determine if shared member is descendant

    I have an account dimension that has several different alternate hierarchies. All of the leaf level accounts are in the Base Accounts hierarchy; these leaf members are then shared in the other hierarchies.<BR><BR>What I would like to do is build a calculated measure that performs a particular formula if the current member is a descendant of a specific member, say X. I have tried to use IsAncestor and also the Count(Intersect(Descendants())) formula, but it apparently doesn't consider the shared members at the bottom as a descendant of X. I have also tried adding a UDA to the members in question and using the IsUDA function, but again, I can't use UDAs on the shared members.<BR><BR>Note this is an ASO cube being built in EIS.<BR><BR>Is there a way to determine whether a shared member is a descendant of a particular member in a hierarchy?<BR><BR>Thanks,<BR><BR>Matt

    In general, shared members need careful handling in MDX. A couple of mechanical observations and a question.<BR><BR>Yup, there's a paradox at hand. The query <BR><BR> SELECT<BR> Filter (<BR> Descendants ( [Diet] ),<BR> IsAncestor ( [Product].CurrentMember, [Diet] )<BR> ) on axis (0)<BR> FROM [Sample.Basic]<BR><BR>returns an empty set, while the following formula only returns 1 for those shared versions that are in fact under the share, so the [100-20] under [Colas] does not get a 1.<BR><BR> Count (<BR> Intersect (<BR> { [Accounts].CurrentMember },<BR> Descendants (<BR> [[[Account Parent 1]]],<BR> [Accounts].Levels(0)<BR> ),<BR> ALL<BR> )<BR> )<BR><BR>Somehow, IsAncestor() returns FALSE even for members obtained as descendants of the Ancestor, while intersecting that member with the set of Descendants returns identity. But it's a different member somehow, since <BR><BR> Intersect (<BR> { [Accounts].Levels(0) },<BR> Descendants (<BR> [[[Account Parent 1]]],<BR> [Accounts].Levels(0)<BR> ),<BR> ALL<BR> )<BR><BR>only returns 1 instance of each member, not 2. Intersect(x,y, ALL) should return duplicates found in x when they exist. It seems like you can use Count(Intersect(Descendants())) for all "shared" versions of the member, but not the first, "non-shared" use of the member. Meanwhile, it would be great to avoid the set construction/counting overhead.<BR><BR>OK, enough of mechanics. What I'd like to inquire about is what you're trying to do. Are you trying to factor out logic into the shared parents, and then combine it based on what set of ancestors a member has? That would be clever, but maybe there's another approach. If you are trying to have different formulas for different shares, keep in mind that since a shared member is a shared instance of a member, it should have the same formula to calculate itself regardless of the parent it is under (since it is under all parents equally and simultaneously. A little more insight into your goals could give us a path to a solution.

  • Shared Member

    Hi people,
    I'd like to get some information about sharing members, for example, sharing a base- entity.
    When you define the properties of an entity, you define a parent too. So, my question is: can the shared member aggregate to both parents? Or it will only aggregate to the parent defined in the properties?
    Please, advice!
    Thank you!
    Lu

    When you define an entity you can assign a Default parent, this entiy however can be shared under a different parent in an alternative rollup, and if you are using default consolidation it will agregate to both parents.

  • When on the internet, how can I zoom out with out cuting off part of games and stuff?

    When I go to Mozilla Firefox, I can't see everything on the screen because it is zoomed in to much. When I go to view and zoom out, it zooms out but when I go to armorgames, part of the games I play are cut off so I can't see everything on the game. Plus, it just zooms back in when I leave Firefox and get back on. It wasn't always like that though. I want to know if I can set the default view to normal so I can see everything on the screen without having to scroll left and right, or having part of games cut off.

    Hi lilmikrymike15, <br>
    If you use View > Zoom > Reset, does the zoom level reset to the expected size?
    To set your default zoom level you usually need an add-on. Have you tried installing one named Default FullZoom Level or another named NoSquint? <br>
    Tools > Add-ons > Extensions category
    <br>
    You can also try disabling Firefox's use of hardware accelerated graphics. In order for this to take effect you usually need to restart Firefox. <br>
    Go to Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > General and uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    If you restart Firefox, is the clarity improved?
    <br>
    Hope i have helped!

  • Using scroll wheel with modifier key to zoom out is not working

    I can't zoom out with the magnifying tool selected in all programs of the CS3 suite using the option key on a Mac. I can zoom in with no problem. I've been trying to figure this out for "8 hours" now!!!
    I do have this checked in the system preferences and Photoshop preferences. I don't think this is considered a keyboard shortcut but I do have universal access checked and zoom out checked in the system preferences.
    I searched this site and all of the internet looking for answers but can't seem to find much. I appreciate any help you can give. I'm way behind on my work today.
    Thank you!

    The default key for scrolling zoom is not Command but Control. To change this, go to System Preferences —> Universal Access and click on the Seeing tab. In the Zoom pane, click on the Options button, and in the sheet that drops down, select the text box at the bottom, highlight the character there, then press the modifier key you prefer.

  • Mapviewer view zoomed out within BI report

    Hello,
    I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue with a mapviewer map within a BI report showing the map zoomed way out. This map is a FL state map with the cities within the states marked. The geometry theme "FL_CITIES" preview fine on the MapBuilder.jar client application.
    However, when rendering the map in OBI report, Mapview just shows a grey screen. When I click on the map, then a small map of FL displays, but it is zoomed out.
    I tried to update the mapZoom to a different number on
    mapview.setZoomLevel(mapZoom);
    but there is no change in rendering of the map.
    Has anyone else encountered this behavior? I'm on 10.1.3.3. I've cut and pasted the showMap() function:
    function showMap()
    baseURL = "http://"+document.location.host+"/mapviewer";
    var mpoint = MVSdoGeometry.createPoint(-82.6, 28.2,8307);
    mapview = new MVMapView(document.getElementById("map"), baseURL);
    var mapZoom = 0;
    mapview.addBaseMapLayer(new MVBaseMap("MVDEMO.DEMO_MAP"));
    mapview.setZoomLevel(mapZoom);
    mapview.addCopyRightNote(
    "<font color=black>"+
    "Oracle MapViewer"+
    "</font>"+
    "&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp");
    mapview.addMapTileLayer(new MVBaseMap("elocation_mercator.world_map","http://elocation.oracle.com/mapviewer/mcserver" ));
    var mapZoom=5;
    mapview.addCopyRightNote("Oracle eLocation - &#169;2008 Oracle Corp. &#169;2008NAVTEQ&#8482;");
    mapview.addNavigationPanel("WEST",false,false,null);
    mapview.setCenter(mpoint);
    mapview.setZoomLevel(mapZoom);
    flFOI = new MVThemeBasedFOI('flFOI','mvdemo.fl');
    mapview.addThemeBasedFOI(flFOI);
    countiesFOI = new MVThemeBasedFOI('countiesFOI','mvdemo.fl_counties');
    mapview.addThemeBasedFOI(countiesFOI);
    regionsFOI = new MVThemeBasedFOI('regionsFOI','mvdemo.fl_cities');
    regionsFOI.setRenderingStyle("V.UI_DATA_CITIES");
    //setupNsdp(regionsFOI);
    regionsFOI.setBoundingTheme(true);
    // regionsFOI.enableLabels(true);
    mapview.addThemeBasedFOI(regionsFOI);
    mapview.display();

  • Stopping Zoom in and Zoom out of pictures

    I can't seem to find where I turn off the Zoom in and Zoom out features in iMovie related to pictures.
    Where or what I have to do to turn this feature off..
    Thanks

    Hi Douglas,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    It does look like this is the default behavior for imported pictures in iMovie 10, and can't be disabled from the iMovie preferences. The best workaround is to select all of the pictures in your timeline and turn off the Ken Burns effect using the Adjust menu.
    iMovie Help
    http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0/#mov26d3f6a6c
    Modify a crop, rotation, or Ken Burns effect
    In the timeline, select the photos you want to modify or restore to their original state.
    Click the Adjust button in the toolbar.
    The adjustments bar appears above the clip in the viewer.
    To show the cropping controls, click the Cropping button.
    In the cropping controls, change Style from Ken Burns to Fit to display the pictures in their original size. From there, you can crop them individually as needed.
    Best,
    Jeremy
