Zoom slider adjust

In the basic library window, the "zoom slider" control seems to have changed its setting.
Previously, I could zoom from very tiny thumbnails up to a single image quite smoothly. Now, however, I can go from about 10 across to 4. Then, even the slightest movement causes the zoom to go to a single image.
There is no way for me to look at 3 or 2 across anymore. Is there an adjustment for the speed at which the slider works? I've tried moving fast and slow, with no change in results.

Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that's in your User/Library/Preferences folder. Surprisingly enough a damaged preference file can cause a number of seemingly unrelated issues.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Where is the zoom slider for images in Finder?

Since installing Lion, I have noticed that I can no longer make the thumbnails in a Finder window larger using a zooming slider (as is found in iPhoto). If I remember correctly, when I used to open a folder full of images in thumbnail format, I was able to use a slider at the bottom of the window to enlarge image thumbnails. Is this function no longer available, or am I missing something?

However, in SL, I could zoom in the thumbnail / or resize the icon inside the Finder window by 2 finger pinch gesture, just like what we usually do in the Safari window. Now it seems this gesture feature is not avaliable OR we need to do something in the setting in LION OS?

Is there a zoom SLIDER anywhere in Lightroom 5?

When developing photos, I want to be able to more gradually zoom in and out. Am I missing where there is a zoom SLIDER in Lightroom 5? (The stepped zoom is driving me crazy -- it's not subtle enough!)

True. No smooth zoom function.
But hints-
Use mouse to click on the Navigator panel -"Fit" then a zoom ratio eg. "1:1". Lightroom remembers these "Last TWO" selections and will toggle between them when you click on the image in Loupe view. One click to 1:1, one click back to Fit. The Spacebar will also toggle between these two 'Last used' settings.
I have read that CTRL+[+] or CTRL+[-] will zoom in or out- but it doesn't work at all on my system.
'CTRL+mouse scroll wheel' will zoom, but only cycles through the preset ratios as Jim Hess mentions above.

Zoom slider still doesn't zoom a photo to full screen

Several versions of iPhoto ago, the Zoom slider would zoom to fill the frame with one picture. Now the Zoom slider's largest zoom shows 4 pictures and 2 half pictures. Why not be able to zoom into one?
The workaround is to go into Edit, where one picture can fill the entire frame. But why should I need to go into edit to see a full picture?
The Zoom should zoom all the way to one photo.

Finder: Zoom slider is not working

Hi Friends.
If I open a new finder window, the zoom slider is working in the symbol view. But if I change to the column view (Apple-3) and back to symbol view, I can slide the zoom slider how I want, the zoom is not working.
Unfortunately it happens not always, but most of the times.
Any ideas?

I can replicate the same problem; hadn't noticed that before, since I almost never use Column view.
I did find that if I go from Column view to List view and then to Icon view, or even switch from a misbehaving Icon view to List view and back again, the problem has gone away.
By the way, that's not a zoom slider - if you look carefully while you slide it, the text of the filenames does not change size, which it would do if it were truly a zoom function. It is, instead, an icon size control function.
I will file a report on this.

Large Image Zoom Slider not working

Can anyone help with why my Large Image Zoom slider doesn't work? I've followed instructions as per tag: {tag_largeimage,zoom,width,height} I have dimensions at 310 and 220. Image looks ok but slider desn't move and image doesn't get bigger...

Has anyone had any luck with fixing this issue? I am using the perfume template with the same issue.
If it is the lightbox.js how would I disable it and how would it affect my site?
Also just want to confirm I am doing this right. I have a large image 800px x 800px. My tag is {tag_largeimage,zoom,375,375}. So this would mean the product image is viewed at 375px x 375px but should zoom to 800px x 800px?

Using Full Screen view zoom slider

If I zoom all the way in by dragging the zoom slider all the way to the right (or clicking the icon at the right of the zoom slider) am I displaying the picture at 100% or greater magnification?

I think it's 200%. When you're in full screen view, tap '1' to view 100%, '2' for full zoom (200%?) and '0' to return to the unzoomed image.

Mountain Zoom Slider not visible

For some reason the mountain zoom slider is not visible. v. CS6. I'm not sure when it disappeared, possibly when I subscribed to Creative Cloud. It shows up on my v CS5 version.
I tried resetting my workspace, which didn't help, but really messed up my layout. Fortunately closing and restarting Premier Pro set things back. Thank you for any help.

Do you mean the zoom slider like the one in the Project panel?
That is gone. You have a bar along the bottom to use.

Missing zoom slider and padlock, in Library mode

Hi, The Compare zoom slider and padlock, in Library mode is missing from my main screen and only appears in second window, if this is selected. Is this a modification with LR5.6 or do I need to do something to select this feature? I find the compare function much easier to use on the main screen rather than in second window.

The padlock and slider should show on both displays but perhaps you have the toolbar hidden. Try pressing the T key once or twice to toggle the toolbar.

Disappearance of Zoom Slider Bar

When I edit a photo in a separate window, the zoom slider bar does not appear. Instead, in order to zoom in or out, I have to choose from a list of preset zoom values. Has this always been the case with iPhoto or are there workarounds? I prefer to work with the zoom slider bar.

It the same as was in iPhoto 5. Don't remember about the earlier versions. You can edit in the normal window and have a slider bar or use the full screen edit mode. It has a slider bar also.

Pan & zoom slide show in pre11

I usually include 5 to 15 slides in a typical video project for my grandkids. I am new to pre11. I did not do any tutorials on slide shows (are there some good ones?) What I have done is:
1. move the stills into the video track
2. select the first slide and do <tools><pan and zoom>
3. Adjust the keyframes
4. Move to the <next> slide, etc
If I play this part, I notice that the slide comes up still for about 1/4 second or so ane then starts the pan and zoom movement, and then at the end of that slide it get's still again for about 1/4 second. This is irratating for me to watch. Even if I put a 2 second cross dissolve transition between each slide, I still notice that delay in the movement. I can go in to each slide and split the clip at the beginning and the end and delete out the still parts. This makes the process very time consuming. Am I missing something? Is this what Adobe intended?

In my example (think that was the L-R Pan Preset only), the "hold" Keyframe is about 10 Frames in. To eliminate that completely, I would just click+drag that Keyframe to the first Frame of the Clip.
Were I doing the Keyframing manually, I would set my first Keyframe (the duration that I wish to hold the static Still Image), then add additional Keyframes, as needed. Finally, and depending on the "look" that I wanted, I would Rt-click on each Keyframe, and change the Interpolation to say Bezier.
For the basics of manual Keyframing (infinitely powerful), I recommend Steve Grisetti's Basic Keyframing in the Learning Series on the Adobe PrE "sister-site," Muvipix.com. It's the best tutorial on PrE Keyframing (similar to, but mechanically different than, Keyframing in PrPro), that I have seen. Once the concept of Keyframing is realized, and then the mechanics of doing so in PrE has been learned, there is really no limit to the power and use of Keyframes. The Presets are basically instant ways to do that Keyframing, with but a click. However, the full power comes from either tweaking those automatic Preset Keyframes, or doing it manually. Nearly every Effect, though not all, can be Keyframed to be applied over time - that is what Keyframing is - an Effect (either Fixed, like Rotation, Position, Motion, etc., or applied, like Blur) can be altered over time.

PS - don't feel bad about missing the Applied FX tab. That particular Tab was added in PrE 11, and I still have to search around a bit, as some things have moved, and some terms have been changed, with PrE 11.

Printing multiple zoomed slides per page

I'm having trouble configuring Adobe Reader's print settings. I want to print 2 slides per page at 130% zoom for each. I can currently print a page zoomed in at 130% and print 2 slides per page, but I can't do both at the same time.

Okay, I just struggled for a good 45 minutes until I finally figured it out. Here it is, step by step.
-Go to print and hit the little box with the arrow facing up to display the additional screen
-While in the "keynote" section on the drop-down box, select "Individual Slides"
-Click on the "layout" and select how many "pages per sheet" you would like (I believe both 6 and 9 are an option, and I think you'd want the first option
-Go back to the "keynote" section and select that would want all the slides printed, and you should be good to go! I just did it exactly how I described it and I also have iWork '09

I actually just thought of something. If you're doing what I described above and it's still not working, when you're on the keynote part and under the printer name it says "pages: all or from _ to _", trying putting in from slides 1 to (however many you have) and try it that way.

Pan & Zoom - slide selection

First let me say that I am a brand new user and working on my first project, a slide show. How do I select an individual photo for use with the pan & zoom feature in the slide show I set up. When I click on a photo in the timeline, all the photos which are part of the "scene" are highlighted and then when I then click on the Pan & Zoom Tool, I get an error message telling to "select a single image or video clip."

1) Slideshow created in Elements Organizer and then imported in Premiere Elements
Such a slideshow appears as a video file in PrE, you can apply Pan and Zoom tool directly to this file in Sceneline or Timeline, or you can Rightclick the slideshow in Timeline or Sceneline and select Break Apart Elements Organizer slideshow, and then apply Pan and zoom tool to individual photos.
2) Slideshow created in Premiere Elements itself
You cannot apply the Pan and Zoom tool to this entire Slideshow in timeline or sceneline unlike above. In timeline, you can select individual photos and click on the Pan and Zoom tool. In sceneline you can select the slideshow and right click and select Ungroup scenes and then select a single photo and then go to Pan and Zoom tool.
