Zoom slider control

I've been working on a project which uses some mapping and a zoom control:
http://www.handprintwebdesign.co.uk/coverage/coverage3/coverage3.htm
At the moment the zoom graphics are fixed, but would be good if we could possibly use something to indicate which zoom level is currently displayed, such as the slider on the weather map on the BBC weather site:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/10209
Any pointers much appreciated.

  • Zoom slider adjust

In the basic library window, the "zoom slider" control seems to have changed its setting.
Previously, I could zoom from very tiny thumbnails up to a single image quite smoothly. Now, however, I can go from about 10 across to 4. Then, even the slightest movement causes the zoom to go to a single image.
There is no way for me to look at 3 or 2 across anymore. Is there an adjustment for the speed at which the slider works? I've tried moving fast and slow, with no change in results.

    Paul:
Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that's in your User/Library/Preferences folder. Surprisingly enough a damaged preference file can cause a number of seemingly unrelated issues.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Finder: Zoom slider is not working

    Hi Friends.
If I open a new finder window, the zoom slider is working in the symbol view. But if I change to the column view (Apple-3) and back to symbol view, I can slide the zoom slider how I want, the zoom is not working.
Unfortunately it happens not always, but most of the times.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I can replicate the same problem; hadn't noticed that before, since I almost never use Column view.
I did find that if I go from Column view to List view and then to Icon view, or even switch from a misbehaving Icon view to List view and back again, the problem has gone away.
By the way, that's not a zoom slider - if you look carefully while you slide it, the text of the filenames does not change size, which it would do if it were truly a zoom function. It is, instead, an icon size control function.
I will file a report on this.

  • Slide control autoscale??

How can I programmatically autoscale a slide control in LabVIEW 6.02 without manually reading out if the max value is smaller than the value to display and set the max value? I have found no property for autoscale or scale fit for slide controls but cannot imagine that such an important function is not included.

I don't know that I've ever heard this requested before, and after
thinking about it a bit, the request makes sense, but probably just as a
momentary action, or only zooming out the scales, but not zooming in.
Otherwise, the thumb would always be in the same place and the scales
    would just change alot.
It is not built-in, but a subVI could easily be written to do this
whenever asked on any slide, given its reference and perhaps a par
    ameter
to state the style of rescaling.
Perhaps someone already has a similar VI they would like to put on devzone?

  • No zoom level controls on second monitor!

I use a second monitor to display a loupe view of the photo I have selected in the grid view, which is on the first monitor.  I have always had the zoom-level controls (Fit, Fill, etc.) at the bottom of the loupe display on the second moitor, until I replaced my first monitor this week.  Everything else is still the same, but I no longer have the zoom controls on the second monitor.  This means that I cannot change the zoom levels that are availabel to me.  I either have Fit or 100% zoom.  Without the zoom controls on the second monitor I can't change the settings.  Does anyone know how to get the zoom controls back (or why they might have disappeared)?
    Thanks for any help.

Never mind.  I found the problem (the second monitor was in full-screen mode).  Nothing
    to see here.  Keep moving.

  • Where is the zoom slider for images in Finder?

Since installing Lion, I have noticed that I can no longer make the thumbnails in a Finder window larger using a zooming slider (as is found in iPhoto). If I remember correctly, when I used to open a folder full of images in thumbnail format, I was able to use a slider at the bottom of the window to enlarge image thumbnails. Is this function no longer available, or am I missing something?

    Hi Captfred,
Your answer help me a bit.
However, in SL, I could zoom in the thumbnail / or resize the icon inside the Finder window by 2 finger pinch gesture, just like what we usually do in the Safari window.  Now it seems this gesture feature is not avaliable OR we need to do something in the setting in LION OS?
    Thank you.

  • The volume slide control on my 4s has disappeared when I watch videos and listen to music. Any suggestion on how to get it back? I've tried the recommendations in the manual

The volume slide control on my iPhone 4S has disappeared when I play videos, music and YouTube. I've tried the recommendations in manual, to no avail. Any suggestions?

Your phone still thinks it is plugged into the stereo. I don't remember how to solve this but perhaps you can search through the forum or maybe one of the members here will jump in on how to switch the playback to speakers.

  • Is there a zoom SLIDER anywhere in Lightroom 5?

When developing photos, I want to be able to more gradually zoom in and out. Am I missing where there is a zoom SLIDER in Lightroom 5? (The stepped zoom is driving me crazy -- it's not subtle enough!)
    Thanks!
    C.H.

But it just cycles through the programmed zoom ratios.
    True. No smooth zoom function.
    But hints-
Use mouse to click on the Navigator panel -"Fit" then a zoom ratio eg. "1:1". Lightroom remembers these "Last TWO" selections and will toggle between them when you click on the image in Loupe view. One click to 1:1, one click back to Fit.  The Spacebar will also toggle between these two 'Last used' settings.
I have read that CTRL+[+]  or CTRL+[-] will zoom in or out- but it doesn't work at all on my system.
'CTRL+mouse scroll wheel'  will zoom, but only cycles through the preset ratios as Jim Hess mentions above.

  • Can a slide control have a range of 180 to 0 to 180?

I've got a slide control and I want its range to be 180 to 0 to 180.  No negative numbers are displayed or shown in the data.  This is how a aircraft cockpit roll indicator is marked as well as some other gages.  Electricaly the indicator is like this:
0 volts equals 180 degrees roll to the left,
    5 volts is 0 degrees,
and 10 volts equals 180 degrees roll to the right.
Can slide controls work this way?  I would of thought there would be some sample code or something for aircraft cockpit gages but my searchs have been nill.  Thanks for any help.

You should be able to modify the control slider to do that.  The value would output 0 to 10 as you indicte for voltage but change the slider control to not display the numeric values with the ticks.  The use free text to lable the tick marks.  I don't know if you can actualy have the control equal to the same value in two different slider postions, but if you need to have 180 to 0 to 180, make the range have negative values and convert them to positive values in code.  You will still have to not show the slider values and use free text.

  • Dynamic Update in real time with slider control

We have requirements to display complex data in a graphical format. So far this has gone well by leveraging ADF and DVT components (dvt:Map, dvt:gauge, dvt:bargraph, af:tables, af:inputNumberSlider, etc.); however, we recently have been asked to add real-time animation of these controls over time. In brief, the user requires the ability to control the on-screen visualization of data by sliding the control on an af:inputNumberSlider (or equivalent) that represents a multi-month time scale. While sliding this control, the user expects to see the data visualization controls dynamically update in real time, keeping up with the rate at which the user moves the slider control. Think of this like a flip book animation where the slider controls the page the user is looking at and they can flip through the pages forwards or backwards at any desired speed. The time slider increments are one hour.
    Our current application architecture:
Oracle ADF Fusion Web Application (v 11.1.1.5)
    EJB 3.0
    Eclipselink
    Oracle 11g
Any kind of help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mehabub

    Hi,
the af:inputNumberSlider does not provide this functionality. Your alternative is a custom component (or any component that raises a client JS event) and call an af:serverListener in a custom event to send the notification to the server.

  • Pie chart in combintion with a Slider control in Dashboards 4.0

    Hi,
Following the my requirement for creating a dashboard.
    1) i have to display employee count for different regions in a pie char for a particular month.
    2) This month needs to be selected from a slider control(Horizontal).
    3) The slider control needs to show Month and year (MON-YYYY format) for the last 13 months.6 months above the slider and 7 months below the slider.
    4) So when a user selects a particular month by dragging to the particular month in slider, then the pie chart should display employee count for the selected month.
    5) And Also the slider control by default should show last month employee count in pie chart when the dashboard is opened every time.
So Any body knows how to implement this requirement please send me the solution in a step by step approch.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Nanda Kishore.

    Hi,
Set up your data like this
For the months we just use 0 for the selected month and we mark our min & max.
(I just took a few months, just as test, in real, you have to have all your months, off course)
Link the slider component, data to B2, min to B3 and max to B7
Create combobox, link labels to cell B3:B7
setup of data insertion, see screenshot below. (destination: j4:J7)
for behaviour column do as follows...
    Your pie chart component
    results in
now you have to put some makup on your dashboard, (hide the combobox - hide the values -6,0and 7), create some textcomponents to show the correct months (create a key row (-6 >0>7) and a month-text row), you can use vlookup or via a combobox to fetch the correct month-text
    Have fun with it

  • Programatically Accessing the Increment & Decrement of a Slide Control.

Does anyone know if its possible to change the Increment and/or Decrement buttons in a Slide control? I know I can do this through the property pages but I can't find a method or property in the CNiImage class to gain access to these "buttons".
Basically I have a 3D Horizontal Fill Slide and want to make the rounded ends flash when the value is under or over range and I can't find a way of doing it.

Take a look at the CNiSlide::Images method. The documentation describes how you can access a CNiImage that corresponds to parts of the slide, including the increment and decrement buttons. Once you have the CNiImage for the buttons, you can configure the animation, blinking, etc. For example:
    CNiImage image = m_slide.Images(_T("Increment Button"));
    image.BlinkInterval = CNiImage::SpeedVeryFast;

  • Zoom slider still doesn't zoom a photo to full screen

Several versions of iPhoto ago, the Zoom slider would zoom to fill the frame with one picture. Now the Zoom slider's largest zoom shows 4 pictures and 2 half pictures. Why not be able to zoom into one?
The workaround is to go into Edit, where one picture can fill the entire frame. But why should I need to go into edit to see a full picture?
The Zoom should zoom all the way to one photo.

    Try tap the space bar.
    Tap it again to revert
