Zoom trouble

page: http://grseljessy.blogspot.com/2015/03/dear-lew-families-what-were-working-on.html?m=1
i use android firefox beta constantly. it's great. mostly. the above page, tho, well, perhaps the site maintainers goofed, looks like nearly anywhere i touch the page jumps to another (older) page, thus it's quite challenging to zoom the page and still stay on the page. after numerous times triggering the page jump and returning to the page i did manage to zoom it, but then, i find the same difficulty trying to pan the zoomed page.
i don't think it would be right to just point the finger at the page or the site tho. i've encountered similar, if less severe, difficulty zooming and panning on pages that have a more usual array of links scattered through the text.

i thought best to start with a question, perhaps there's tricks i haven't yet learned...
tho to be honest i am thinking zoom needs work. that some pages are not zoomable is just crazy, but "always zoom" fixes that well enough. but, reflow is sorely missing. have i missed something that brings back reflow? needing to pan back and forth strikes me as something is sorely lacking in useability, notwithstanding poor page layouts, i want the ability to deal with whatever page layout i find, without throwing blame on the page layout, or my eyes.

  • CS 5 zoom troubles on new Imac.

I use Illustrator CS 5 which I've recently installed on my new iMac. My OS is 10.9.2. It works fine but when I try to zoom out by holding Option and tapping with my wacom stylus it only
zooms in. I've seen that the newer Illustrator had a similar proble and was fixed, I think. Is there a fix for this older version?

    You either need to either:
    1) use the following hack -

    or
    2) Upgrade to FCP 5

  • Updated iphone 5 to iOS 6.1.3, now trouble with keyboard not responding correctly and screen zooming in by itself...

updated iphone 5 to iOS 6.1.3, now I am having trouble with keyboard not responding correctly and screen zooming in by itself...
    Buttons pressing themself...
Also, my main screen is permanently zoomed in...
    suggestions?

Double tap the screen with THREE fingers, that should get it back to normal again.
Then go into Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom > OFF.
Not too sure about the keyboard and random button presses though.  Back it up and restore from iTunes, see if that fixes it.

  • I have some trouble With the graph XY, if I display a curve and try to zoom on it, it may be corrupted, or may disappeared.

In fact this happens on some computers. the graph XY causes some trouble when zooming. Sometimes, when I run my main program and open the window with the graph, it has change the displayed it overflows to the edge of the windows. Or somtimes it works but if I zoom the curves disappeared, or is corrupted.
I have this for instance on a computer with win 98 and a ATI graphic board. So I try to update all drivers but noting has changed. I try to decrease the hardware acceleration, and it seems to happen less oftenly.
Does anybody have seen that kind of trouble ?

    > I have some trouble With the graph XY, if I display a curve and try to
    > zoom on it, it may be corrupted, or may disappeared.
    >
I think what you are describing is not due to video driver, but rather
to the way the graph works. The LV graph maps points to integer screen
coordinates and draws lines be tween those point. When the numbers are
way to large to fit on the screen, the numbers are pinned to a special
large value. When this happenson one axis but not the other, it causes
the slope of the line to change and potentially not cross the screen.
If this is the same effect I'm describing, it only takes place when you
zoom into the data by a large extent, pushing the other points about ten
to fifteen monitors away. At this point you are no longer
    looking at
measured data, but rather just on the interpolation of a line between
two points. The solution if you must have one is to resample your data
on the diagram to contain more points.

  • Slideshow Troubles...how do you stop iMovie from zooming in and out?

My son is trying to make a movie from still photographs...a Lego-type movie. He is frustrated because iMovie keeps zooming in and out and up and down. Is there a way to import those photos without iMovie doing that?

Your son is using the "Ken Burns Effect" - actually, iMovie probably has the Ken Burns Effect set as the default for when new pictures are added. You can change this two ways: 1) Change it in Project Properties. 2) Change it picture-by-picture by using the Rotate/Crop/Ken Burns Tool.
In either case, FIT makes the photo fit into the current aspect ratio (4:3 or 16:9) by letterboxing (black bars) if necessary. CROP makes the photo fit into the current aspect ratio by cutting off part of the photo if necessary. Ken Burns produces a motion effect that you can control by setting the starting and ending rectangles.

  • Trouble Zooming Out on iPhone

While using Google Maps and various other feature, when I zoom in, I can never zoom out. One thing that I figured out was if i tap three times it zooms out, and if i tap two times it zooms in. But on Google Maps, it just keeps zooming out. How do I get out of this endless zoom? Help!
Thank you in advance for your responses!!

You can also zoom in and out with the "pinching" method. Put two of your fingers on screen and bring them closer together (pinching) to zoom out, or spread your fingers father apart to zoom in.

  • IOS 4.3 keyboard problems in zoom mode

    Hi
after the update to iOS 4.3 I'm having trouble with using my keyboard in magnification mode (zoom on). Moving around the screen by 3-finger-gesture is so touchy that during typing the phone does pretty often not understand my intention. Instead of moving around on the screen it presses one of the keys under my fingers. Worked much better in iOS 4.2!
This post is more a call to the Apple developers and the accessibility evaluators than a question to all of you. I'm using the iPhone because it's the phone with the best accessiblity on the market so please don't step back...
But if there is any chance to decrease the touch sensitivity by my own please let me know
    cheers, alex

I found the update to 4.3 to have greater keyboard sensitivity in general. I was hitting backspace and it kept going until all letters were gone. Also, it is pulling up foreign characters with too much ease, double typing and instead of opening an application, it thinks I am ready to edit the location of the app by putting the x in the corner of all apps.
I am not pushing on the keys any harder than in 4.2.1. An adjustment setting for individual keyboard sensitivity would be helpful. I am also noticing a little bit of a bounce in the screen, when exiting an application and the main screen comes back. If anyone else notices this or has a solution, please let me know. I noticed this right after the update to 4.3.

  • SWF Export, no font showing in Acrobat and zoom border problem (Acrobat & Reader) - Indesign CS6

    Hi Everyone,
If anyone could help me on this that would be great, I've spent hours on the forums and manuals to no avail.
I'm making an interactive PDF brochure in Indesign for one of our new products and I'm having issues (actual or perceived??!!) with the SWF export and PDF creation.  I'm placing animations and video in the INDD, exporting it as an SWF (with the text option as Flash Classic Text) and then opening the SWF (not importing to a word doc or anything, just opening the SWF) with Acrobat using the advanced options to import the video resources and to enable the content when the page is opened.  I then save the file as a PDF.  In the PDF everything works as it should, the animations, the buttons, the video plays and so on.  Great.. hmm not quite.
The trouble I am having is that all the content of the SWF when viewed in Acrobat seems to be getting rasterised/flattened - is this correct?  After the SWF is opened, Acrobat indicates no fonts in the fonts tab in the document properties so when the SWF is zoomed in Acrobat, or the saved PDF in Reader, the font gets pixelated and the document is not searchable/text can not be highlighted.  The images are not selectable either - it is as if the entire page has been flattened to one image.  Is there a way to stop this so that the SWF opened with Acrobat retains the font and individual images like a normal PDF?  Do I have to open the SWF in Flash first to set some parameters or something?  Is there something I am doing wrong when exprting the SWF from Indesign?  I think I have tried about every possible export combination.  When I open the .HMTL (exported at the same time as the SWF from Indesign) in a browser, the same happens.  All the animations work but the text appears to be rasterised/flattened/not searchable.  Sorry if I'm not using the correct terminology.
I have tried importing the SWF back into another new INDD and exporting that as an interactive PDF but then the video does not work.  I suppose I could try exporting all the individual animations as SWFs, importing them all and trying to get them to work with the video but I can see that will take quite some time and does not seem to be a guaranteed solution from what I have read on the forums - video playback being the issue.
Another problem is that when the SWF, or saved PDF, is zoomed in Acrobat/Reader between approx 150% and 210% a thick white border appears in the document and the content is squashed into the middle creating a slightly pixelated and narrow page.  When I zoom out from the page I get a small white line on the right hand border at around 70% zoom.  Please see images.  Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
On another, sort of related topic, my timing panel went blank yesterday and was not showing any animations in documents that it had been used to order and synch animations on page load as well as new documents.  The panel was blank.  I updated to V8.0.1 and the panel sprang back into life - hope that helps anyone else finding the same problem.
I am not very familiar with Indesign/Acrobat/Flash so I guess all the above could be what I'm doing or I could be asking  really dumb questions - apologies from a newbie.
    Best,
    Emily

    Hi All,
I have now pretty much solved all the issues by creating the SWF in Flash rather than Indesign.  I would advise anyone looking to create an interative PDF with animation and interactivity to go with Flash from the start.  While Flash is a little more involved to create the same effects as Indesign, the extra time taken will ensure a more controllable and better looking PDF in terms of text quality, scalability and so on.  Plus you will not spend days trying to get video to work along side imported SWF etc in Indesign.  One of the best controls in Flash is being able to set the stage.scaleMode for the document so the PDF still looks crisp when zooming, no white borders etc.  So, create the .fla, export to .SWF, open the .SWF with Acrobat, modify the advanced settings to enable start on page load and save as a PDF.  If you don't know Flash, I didn't a couple of days ago, watch a couple of tutorials on Youtube.. buttons, tweens, embedding video and you'll be ready.  Don't be put off by ActionScript, there are really handy Code Snippets in CS6 that do all the heavy lifting for you.
    Sorry Indesign!
    Best,
    Em

  • My safari does zoom in in some pages

Hello, I have a MacBook Pro mid 2012, with OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2. My Safari is version 8.0.3 and I'm having some troubles with it. Sometimes when I open a web page, it appears zoomed in, with no explanaition! It doesn't let me zoom out, I just quit Safari and open it again and that's fine. Is there something I can do or it's just a bug?
    Thank you!

Go step by step and test.
    1. Delete Caches.db
Close all windows and quit all applications.
Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
        Select "Library" from the dropdown.
        Library > Caches > com.apple.Safari > Caches.db
Right click the Caches.db file and select "Move To Trash.
        Close windows and relaunch Safari.
    2. Empty Caches
        Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
    3. Delete Cookies
Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
        Click “Remove All Website Data”.
    4. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Turn off Extensions if any and launch Safari again to test.
Turn on those one by one and test.

  • Pan & Zoom Not Working in PP4

Using PP CS4 with 8 years experience with Premiere, am having trouble with this effect. Effect Controls > Motion > Position & Scale controls are all there but the resizing for keyframes is not having any visible effect in either Source or Program monitors. The clip remains exactly as it was imported at full, uncropped view. Please help. Thx

Just for clarification, are you using the Pan & Zoom for a SlideShow in Encore, or are you using the Fixed Effects>Motion>Scale & Motion>Position in PrPro?
If the latter, then I would post to the PrPro CS4 and Earlier Forum.
In the meantime, and in case you ARE encountering this issue in PrPro, let's go over the steps to do Pans & Zooms in the Effects Control Panel.
First, in your Timeline, Select your Still Image (or Video Clip).
If not in focus, get Effects Control Panel open and in front in its Pane.
Place the CTI (Current Time Indicator) /Playhead at the first Frame of that Still/Clip.
Look at the Fixed Effects list in Effects Control Panel, and for Motion, twirl that Open, to reveal both Scale and Position. Twirl those Open, to reveal their sliders.
For a Zoom, click the little Stopwatch icon next to it, to toggle Keyframe animation ON, and place a Keyframe on that First Frame.
At this point, that Keyframe will have a value of 100%, or original size. If one needs to adjust that, say for a Zoom Out to full Scale, but needs to start Zoomed In, set it to where you wish to start.
Move to the time (on the Timeline, or on the mini-timeline in Effects Control Panel - the CTS's are linked), where you want the Zoom Out to end, and click the New Keyframe button, the filled circle in the ◄●► icon. A new Keyframe is added at that spot. Now, adjust the Scale to what is desired there.
One can adjust the Interpolation between those Keyframes, if desired, but that is something that one will be better off, if they read the full section on Keyframe Interpolation in the Help Files.
If one wishes to add a Pan, then the same process is repeated, but for the Fixed Effect>Motion>Position.
Good luck, and hope that helps,
    Hunt

  • Pan & Zoom multilayered PSDs. Help needed

    Hi All,
I've got an edit I need to finish pronto then another one this coming monday and need to get some questions answered before then or in serious trouble!
    Additional details: Running FCP 5
We have a client that wants to do an animatic (motion graphic add)
He want's to be able to import a multilayered photoshop image WHILST keeping the original image quality, if the dimensions are above 720x576 (I edit in UK therefore PAL pixel dimensions), so you can pan and zoom across the image while simultaneous fading up and down and moving certain layers.
I was originally going to edit it on an Avid Adrenalin but found out that you can do some but not all of these things without great difficulty. SO am therefore going to edit on my FCP suite.
I tried last night to import a multilayered photoshop image and made it double the normal 16x9 PAL pixel dimentions (which are 1204x576) making it 2048x1152.
Doing this I hoped it would let me try and achieve a pan & zoom effect, but I found that it distorted the aspect ratio of the clip.
Making it squashed, even though my new project that I had set up was Pal DV Anamorphic (16x9). It dispalayed the newly created large psd as eveen more anamorphic - more like cinema scope!!
I looked it the motion tap and the distort aspect ratio in the motion tab was zero.
    I then did a test:
flattened the psd, changed the image size to 1024x576.
I then imported that and all was fine, it imported it at the correct ratio.
    Also major question.
Is FCP able to handle these graphics easily.
When I import them and insert them into the new seq I can set that seq to Unlimited RT low playback to see the move easily.
But when I open the nest that has all the layers it wont let me set RT settings, it only displays a few options, none that allow me to view in low res.
The client wants to edit in DV not lower so cant do motion jpg offline res.
He also needs the large images, eg we pan across a models hair only to fade up a layer of a product appearing in her hand.
I don't know After Effects well enough to attempt the edit on that, and I don't know motion at all.
The photographer/ client says he's done all his previous edits in FCP.
Is there an article I could read or is there any advise anyone can give me about approaching this project?
Minimizing render time, work flow etc
Has anyone used Lyric Media's Pan Zoom Pro?? (Or was that used by people with FCP 4 and now FCHD can acheive Pan & Zooms really well???)
    Thanks anyone for the help!!!!
    d

Tom/ anyone else who can help,
(note: also posted on 2pop erlier, just incase Tom/anyone else read that one, saving you the trouble of reading twice!)
    Sorry back again,
very nearly sorted after breakthrough last night.
Just need to clear up one more thing:
An FCP editor mate says he keeps the graphics he's given high res i.e. 300dpi, he says you can zoom in and keep the quality.
Can fcp handle bigger image resolutions? I know it can only go up to 4000 pixels squared but what dpi can it go up to. I always thought it would only work in 72 dpi.
Before finding about about fcp being able to handle higher than 72dpi, after numerous tests and conversations with you, I'd come to the conclusion that:
If designing in Photoshop for Final Cut Pro
If you don't use photoshop's PAL DV presets take this into consideration:
In graphics for 4:3 FCP projects:
    768x576 convert to 720x576
    1536x1152 convert to 1440x1152
always divide graphics width in photoshop by:
    1.06666666667
In graphics for 16:9 FCP projects:
    1024x576 convert to 720x576
    2048x1152 convert to 1440x1152
always divide graphics width in photoshop by:
    1.42222222222
I'm not sure of the actual size of the images the client is going to give me & I desperately don't want to get into the problem I had yesterday of distorted aspect ratios when importing to FCP.
    The only question is
If he gives me a photo that's 300dpi I'm going to have a problem with knowing exactly what size the image will be in photoshop regarding rescaling etc.
When he gives me the graphics, I'll check the dimetions in photoshop.
I should check if it's a rectangular or suare pixel doc first correct?
My thinking is that it'll be square pixel coming from a digital camera, and we'll prob work in 4:3 (i've just been given video rushes to combine with the edit at 4:3 res)
    Regarding the graphics,
Should I work in a high res and keep the pixel dimentions as high as I need up to 4000pix squared or should I keep it at 720x576 and keep the res high?
FCP works better with images at 720x576 they don't need rendering regardless of the dpi?? ANd also when you step into the PSD nest it gives you an option of Unlimited RT, it even has a dark green line in Safe RT.
Whereas when I work in images over 720x576, (say double that at 1440x1152) the PSD seq FCP creates when importing the multi-layered graphic has a red render line and won't let me work in Unlimited RT or Safe RT, it just gives the option of: 'use playback settings' or 'full quality'.
would it be good to create a photoshop template, so that I can drop the graphics I'm given into that, then manipulate it accordingly??
    All advice welcome!!
Sorry finding if still finding it slightly confusing!
    Almost there!!!!
    thanks for reading

  • Can I lock in a zoom level (e.g. Page View) so it won't change?

I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent Adobe Reader from changing my zoom level.  I prefer to read with the zoom level set to Fit Page.  Every time I click on a bookmark to jump to another page in the document, the zoom level changes to Fit Width (I think).  This is extremely annoying because I have to keep changing the view back to Fit Page.  In preferences I have put the default zoom to Fit Page, but that only determines how it comes up initially.  When I click on a bookmark it changes again.
I don't understand why the zoom changes when you click a bookmark at all.  Why would I want the zoom to change on me?
FYI, I'm using Reader XI (11.0.08).
    Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Thanks CtDave.  I don't have anything besides the free reader, so I did some further research on the web and found a solution that is pretty "brute force", but is an option for others that only have the free reader.  Here is a link to the full description:
    http://superuser.com/questions/306803/zooming-size-of-pdf-files-and-bookmarks
Here is the basics:  You can use a text editor and edit the PDF file.  Once in the text editor you can search for /FitH or /Fit (there surely are other codes, but those are the only ones I know of).  These are codes that tell Acrobat what kind of zoom level to apply to the destination of a jump.  So the bookmarks should all have these.  Simply do a search and replace with /XYZ.  The /XYZ code tells Acrobat to leave the zoom level as it already is.
It might sound a bit weird, but I tried it on multiple files I was having trouble with and it worked great.  Of course, my suggestion would be to make backup copy of the file before doing this in case something goes wrong.
    Thanks.

  • Action on zoom event

    Hi
I have developed a flash-RMA which shows some text. The RMA is embedded  in a pdf. I discovered that sometimes, when zooming in acrobat/reader  the text is not displayed correctly (i.e. linebreaks shift, somtimes the  last line of text drops out of the viewingrange).
I have a redrawing-function in my flash-as which forces a correct redraw  of the text and fixes this problem. However, so far I have to trigger  this function per hand (i.e. using a button).
What I need now is an eventlistener, which calls the function  automaticly whenever a zoom-event occurs. I know how to call  AS-functions, but I have no clue about event-listeners in Acrobat.

You're right, there was a problem with the file.... I can't recall what it was, or how I fixed it, but it was just a minor issue. Anyway, it is the file you can download under http://www.docunamic.de/files/9912/9847/9610/docunamic_video_pdf_seeberger.pdf that originally gave me trouble. When switching languages it worked just fine, but once I started zooming the PDF parts of the text sometimes disappeared like described above. The version you can download has the fix applied, but if necessary I can provide a simplified version to illustrate the problem.
It seems like the Zoomfactor of the PDF is not consistently applied to the scaling of flash-text. That's the basic issue.
