Zoom unstable Adobe Reader 8.1.2

On my Windows XP Home, I set zoom (View->Zoom) for either Page or Fit Height (which are 93.6%) However, if I skip to a place further in the document the magnification jumps to 192%. When I open View->Zoom, the previous selection (Page or Fit Height) is no longer checked. What am I doing wrong or is this a but?
This is my first experience with this forum. I hope I am using appropriate protocol. Thank you in advance for your help.

I dont want to zoom with double click, because some times my stylus pen do double click by mistake, Can i make fix zoom in adobe reader?

The application auto-saves your input when you close the document.  If you left the document, as you state, the notes/comments should have been saved and should have been visible the next time you opened the document with the Mobile Reader (note that if you are opening the document with another app such as Apple's built in PDF Viewer, things like notes/comments may not be visible).  Also note that if you are doing an Open In... from another app (like Dropbox), the version of the document in Dropbox does not update; only the version of the document in the Mobile Reader is updated.

    Not at my system:
CTRL+"+" and CTRL+"-" (both on NumPad) have no visual effect.
CTRL+"+" with the "+" on the normal keyboard scrolls down like PageDown.
I use Acrobat 9 Pro 9.3.1 und Windows 7 64bit (but the same effect under 32bit).

  • Unresolved bug in adobe reader x with non-default windows zoom level

This seems to have already been brought up here about a year ago: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/776060.
I am using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with Firefox 12.0 and Adobe Reader 10.1.3. Here is a description of the problem:
Whenever I open any PDF file in a browser (firefox or IE) using the adobe reader I am unable to select text, save the file or interact with the content in any meaningful way because the plugin does not recognise my cursor position. If I click on some text in a PDF document, the reader will immediately highlight a region of text between where I clicked and where it thinks I started clicking from (above 20% of the screen above and to the left of where I actually clicked on the page). If I roll my mouse over the region where the dashboard normally appears, the dash does appear as intended and the cursor changes in response to hover over buttons, as if everything were working, but I am unable to click on anything (clicking does nothing). If I click and hold the dashboard when it appears, it immediately jumps to another region of the page, as if it thinks I moved the mouse (20% up and to the left again). I have recently reformatted and am now using a fresh install, and the issue remains. My desktop zoom level in windows is 150%. The problem appears only inside the browser; viewing PDFs directly in Acrobat Reader X works without issue.
I can resolve the problem either of two ways:
    a) Reverting back to the default windows zoom level (125%).
    b) right-clicking on the Adobe Reader X icon, navigating to the compatibility tab and clicking "Disable Display Scaling on high DPI settings"
The workaround is easy but it's disappointing that adobe hasn't fixed this. Please consider that it would mostly affect individuals who are vision impaired and might not have the know-how to resolve the problem or check for solutions online, let alone post comments such as this. As far as I can tell this problem severely impaires the functionality of adobe in any browser on any non-standard zoom windows installation.

Please be sure to post your issue in the following Feature Request/Bug Report Form.

  • Adobe Reader preferences issue, text stretched and zoomed in.

I have a user with Adobe Reader 11.0.2 installed and cannot change his preferences and always receives a "Screen reader" prompt when opening a PDF.  The window is stretched accross the screen and the only way to close it is Tab - Enter.  The preferences are the same way, theres no way to check the settings because the window is too zoomed in and the text is too large. I have already tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, deleted all the folders and reg keys to do a clean install as well as under multiple profiles. Same issue each time.  Has anyone else seen this issue?
    Any advice would be great.

I believe I have seen this where an essential Windows font is removed.

  • Adobe Reader 11.09 unstable on Win 8.1 in Company Network

Today I started rolling out Adobe Reader 11.09 in my company network.
Installed on 4 machines I have difficulties on 2:
    - 2 machines with Windows 7: no Problem
    - 2 machines with Windows 8.1: Adobe Reader is very unstable and slow
I tried opening pdf-files from a network share (as I read a different thread here) and from local hard drive.
Both times Adobe Reader gave no Response for minutes.
After changing back to 11.08: no problem.
    Anyone any idea?
If you need more detailed information just ask.

Not that anyone cares but I´ve solved the problem.
It has nothing to do with Windows 7 or Windows 8 but if the proxy in system settings is enabled or not.

  • Default Page Zoom (Adobe Reader X)

    Hi everyone,
I'm having little problem with the Reader default zoom. Now, if I mark default zoom to something, like 100%, it works fine. Profile remembers the value...etc. But myt problem comes with multiple users on my Windows Terminal Server, where they use the Adobe Reader over Citrix connection.
My users really need the default zoom to remain 100%! So, that PDF file/page always comes to screen as 100% in size. This is actually very important in their use. But it seems, that based on the size of your screen or something - The reader gives different zooms for different files. Either way, the problem (and solution, that I need) would be to get the page size/zoom to remain always 100%. So, PDF file is in right size.
I have tried some registry settings (below), but I havent been able to get any useful results. Still hoping there would be some registry fix for this one.
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Originals]
    "iDefaultZoomType"=dword:00000000
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Originals]
    "iDefaultZoomScale"=dword:00000000
These did change the Readers --> EDIT --> PREFERENCES --> Page Display --> Zoom: 100%. But that still doesn't change the documents size right when it opens on the screen. It may still open to some other size, like for example 87,9%...

Go Edit > Preferences > Page Display, and make sure Use Logical Page Numbers is checked. I don't know if this works for me because of the way the PDF was originally set up, but when it is unchecked the absolute page number is displayed, and when it is checked, I get something like xiii (12 of 192) showing up.

  • Overriding Bookmark Zoom settings in Adobe Reader XI

    Hi.
I work at a company that uses preset bookmarks to navigate very large Adobe files that are hundreds of pages in length. I have set my Page Display Zoom level at 75%, and have also checked the "Always use Zoom Setting" set at 75% in the Override Page Display section of the Accesibility menu as well. When I open a file, the initial zoom level reflects these settings. However, upon clicking on a bookmark in the navigation bar, the zoom level changes to the zoom level set for the bookmark. The override settings I set in Accessibility do not work on the bookmark settings, and I have to resize every time I click a bookmark. Is there a way in Adobe Reader XI to override these settings? Thank you!

    Hi again
I have read the article, but I can still not find the plugin I should
    disable in Internet Explorer 8.
If I see a PDF-file in my browser, I can select and disable a plugin called
PDF Adobe Reader, but next time I open Internet Explorer 8, I not can see
    the plugin.
Another method is between the guide for accessibility
(edit>Accessibility>Setup Assistant. On screen number 4, you can find the
    checkbox.
Since I am blind, I can find the assistant.
For my interessting, it is possible for sighted users of Adobe Reader to
    find the same assistant?
    Very thanks.
    Regards
    Boholdt

  • Why does Adobe Reader use the scroll wheel to zoom in/out now, rather than actually scroll?

Why does Adobe Reader use the scroll wheel to zoom in/out rather than actually, um, scroll? I can't find anywhere to change this function in Preferences, either.

I had the same problem on my Windows 8 touch screen laptop.  It was driving me crazy! Every time I tried to scroll a page down, the program would zoom the page!  Made reading an ebook difficult.
    I finally found the solution:
Under Edit select Preferences - General
Uncheck "Make Hand Tool Use mouse-wheel zooming".

  • Adobe Reader: Massive zooming problems

    Hi,
I recently received my Touchpad. I assumed it would be a great device to read on. Unfortunately I had to find out that the possibilities for reading are very limited (at this time). The only eBook reader which officially allows you to load any book (Amazon Kindle does not officially support this) is still in Alpha stage (pReader). But what is even worse is, that the Adobe Reader for the Touchpad is barely usable, if you need to zoom into a document.
I have subscribed to the digital edition of a weekly newspaper. I would really love to read the articles on my Touchpad, unfortunately it's not possible. There is simply no option to zoom the document to 100%. Additionally - what is even worse - if you zoom into the document, it won't re-render accordingly. The text will be very blurry and practically unreadable. I really don't understand what could be the reason for this behaviour. The document opens and zooms fine on a PC and an iPad, so it has to be the Touchpad App.
I would be really glad if this could be looked into with some urgency. I already asked this in another post, but in case this forum is not monitored by official support / development staff I would be glad if you could name me some contact possibilities.

Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

Hi, thank you very much for the reply. Unfortunately this doesn't really solve my problem. The problem with blurry view when zooming appears to happen with every document, its just much more obvious if the PDF has a very large size (e.g. A3 format). As I said I cannot zoom in with pinching until 100%. It zooms but seems to be limited to a certain factor. And when I zoom in, I plainly can't read the text because of the blurriness. The document seems to be edited correctly, the text is implemented as text. When I open the document on the PC or even on an iPad everything is displayed perfectly, so the problem has to derive from the App. Additionally, these problems are reported on the precentral.net forums repeatedly, so I guess it's a common problem. I could send you the PDF or try to upload a screenshot if it helps. The PDF however is around 50MB. Regards, Alphajoe

  • When viewing PDF files in a window in firefox the popup control bar for zoom, print, page up or down does not work. Any suggsetions other than stop opening up pdf files in a firefox window and have them open in adobe reader?

Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:
    * [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Template:clearCookiesCache/ Clear Cookies & Cache]

  • Is there an update for faulty Adobe Reader plug in on FF for Mac? Plug in page says unstable. I deactivated mine. FF does not work. Safari is fine.

    Has problem been corrected?

No Adobe is not going to update the plugin for Mac and it does not work. Here is an explanation about how to get the files to open in Adobe Reader instead - [[Opening PDF files within Firefox#w_pdf-files-are-blank-and-cant-be-downloaded|PDF files are blank and can't be downloaded]]
That article, [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]], also has more information about reading PDF files inside Firefox. You can use:

    *[http://www.schubert-it.com/pluginpdf/ The schubert-it PDF plugin]
Read the article though because these things will not work with each other.

  • How can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2?

how can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2? I need to print a engineering print with lot of information but information is too small in letter size and I don't have a plotter.

Two ways to print a portion of a page: zooming or using the Snapshot Tool.
    ZOOMING:
Zoom into the area you want to print.
    Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure "Current view" is selected under "More options" (you may need to click "More options" to open it).
If you aren't satisfied with the preview, try clicking "Fit" under the Size button.
    SNAPSHOT
Choose Edit > Take A Snapshot.
Drag a rectangle around the area you want to print.
    Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure that "Selected Graphic" is selected under "More options".
To enlarge the snapshot to fit the sheet of paper, choose "Fit" under the Size button.
    Hope this helps!
