Zoom with scroll wheel?

The zooming with scroll wheel feature stopped working after I installed MAC OS X 10.6.  Anyone have a suggestion about how to get that feature working again?  Thanks.

Okay...did that too.  We'll see.  I appreciate your help.
Having a major printing problem though.  Looks like I am going to be doing a lot of testing soon because the presents for my Canon iP6700D don't work like they did two days ago.  Canon has a new driver which I believe is the problem.  Maybe I can get back to the other one that worked like a charm.  -- Sandy

  • Photoshop 5 choppy during zoom with scroll wheel

So after a agonizing weekend of talking to Adobe suport to get photoshop installed because they sent me the wrong version and horrible customer service (thanks adobe), I finally get to start using photoshop and it's just buggy as heck. Wierd jerky motions and a lot of spinning wheels. I have a macbook pro early 2010 3.06 processor with 6gb of ram on os x 10.6.8.
Well the photoshop is choppy and horrible when using the scroll wheel to zoom. I opened the same document in CS4 and it was fine smoothly scrolling in and out as slow or fast as I wanted. CS5 is jerky zooming 20% every time I move my finger on the mouse.  It is driving me crazy!@!
I adjusted all of the openGL setting, memory, etc, etc and nothing helps. I can't imagine that photoshop would be worse when it is supposidly an "upgrade", but I'm so pissed off that I might just go back ot CS4 until I get this figured out.
Another Adobe product that is buggy as heck, but this has been around for almost a year, so please tell me how to fix it. Is there an update i don't kow about or SOMETHING?!?!
I did a search, but when i foudn someone with the same issue, it was not answered...
Adobe, you need to make better products.

It's not performance, it's a missing feature and adjustments (if I can get it to work right) I need to have the selection tool active and be able to zoom wiht the scroll wheel! (even if the srolling is choppy) I need it to zoom in and out, with the scroll wheel, while the select tool is active!
The scrubby zoom is smooth and it's nice, but the choppy scroll wheel zoom and no zoom when the select tool is active are deal breakers for this software! You guys try to cram as much stuff in the program as possible, but if you take things away, it pissed people off. If there is a way to to scroll zoom on while i have the select tool down, then tell me.

  • "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding" is broken

    Hello,
Since updating to Mac OS X 10.7 Lion this morning, the "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding" feature is broken.
In the mouse control panel the checkbox for "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding" is definitely checked. The default Control ^ key is selected. I verified I'm hitting the correct key on the keyboard using the keyboard viewer.
I've tried using this with 2 finger scrolling on my trackpack as well. I've also tried turning off most of the trackpack geustures.
I tried searching these forums prior to posting and found replies telling people with various different situations to turn this feature off. I want it on. I use it constantly.
    I have a MacBook Pro Aluminum 13-Inch Mid 2010
Processor  2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory  4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7 (11A511)
    Any advise would be appreciated!
    Thanks.

Hello. Original poster here. I can confirm a few things after observing for a few days and trying stuff.
    1) The Universal access fixes did nothing. I set & reset those settings til I was blue in the face.
    2) I tried a "Repair Permissions" with the Disk Utility. No luck.
    3) It works intermitently. After sleeping sometimes it works. After plugging into my external monitor sometimes it works on the external monitor but then if I unplug it won't work again. After a reboot somtimes it works, then after sleeping stops working. Kinda strange. When it works it works from both my external USB mouse and the trackpad, so I don't think it's the hardware.
I don't have Time Machine configured - been using Carbonite, but they're not compatible with Lion so might have to get Time Machine running anyway - but it's not a fix per se, since this oughta work all the time.

  • Vertical zooming with toggle wheel?

Only been a few days but so far the most difficult thing for me transitioning into CS6 from 3.0 is the lack of vertical zooming with the mouse's toggle wheel in multitrack view.  The sidebar just scrolls now--no zoom.  I know there's a little button for that below the tracks but...its just not the same lol and it never zooms where I want it to.   This is slowing me down like crazy and hoping there might be a way to enable that I don't know about.  I'm not seeing anything about it in the forum or preferences in the program.  I know it seems like nothing but for someone who's been using 3.0 nearly everyday since it came out this one simple thing is really difficult to get used to.  I was perfectly happy dragging the bar for scrolling and zooming all in the same place.
Besides the muscle memory side of things--it seems like having to take your eyes off the multi-tracker to hit that button a few times instead causes one to 'lose their spot' so you can easily lose track of what your zooming in on in the first place.  The bottons wont even zoom to the center its like its just some random spot that its zooming to.  Having to look at the keyboard for the key commands (as another option) isn't any better for workflow and still gives me no control over the vertical zoom destination...I have to scroll through everything to find what I'm looking for (not cool when there's like 50+ tracks going) after I'm zoomed in only to find out I need to zoom in further and the process repeats.  So at this point what used to be quick stroke of the toggle wheel is now a process lol.
IF no vertical toggle wheel zooming is there at least a way to control the location of vertical zooming?  or at least the degree of it rather than the intervals provided by the buttons or key commands?

  • 10.4.9 Scroll Wheel Problem - using Safari with a mouse with scroll wheel.

Since installing 10.4.9 I have noticed that when on web sites with Safari, when using the scroll wheel on my Logitech MX1000 Laser cordless mouse (Jan 2005) with Logitech control Center 2.1.3 (latest), suddenly you can no longer scroll using the wheel, in fact the mouse becomes "Dead" (the trackpad, too), so you cannot use the scroll arrows either. You have to quit Safari and restart Safari. Unfortunately this has happened 1-2 times/day and only since installing 10.4.9....... MacBook (May 2006, first ones) 2 gHz RAM.
Any form you are filling-out -- not possible to send, since you cannot click the send button...
Has anyone seen this problem or similar mousing problems running 10.4.9?
    Thanks.
    Steve Schulte 19 March 2007

NOTE: I have just learned that the Logitech Control Center 2.1.3 is NOT compatible with Mac OS 10.4.9 but that Logitech is working on 2.1.4-- so if others are having a similar problem, then it is not your Mac!
Hopefully this will be out shortly--- and if anyone hears anything, kindly post.

  • Camera Raw - Adjusting sliders with scroll wheel

In Lightroom you can adjust the sliders with the scroll wheel. Is there any way to do this in Camera Raw? Or can I change the amount that is changed with the up/down arrows?

It's not hard to imagine the software team finding lots of other important things to work on.
Maybe they're not hearing people ask for this specific feature very much.  Perhaps you should make an impassioned plea over at:  http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family

  • Problems with scroll wheel for sound

    Hello,
    I have a Satellite A300D PSAKCE.
When i bought the laptop the OS was vista. I upgraded it to Windows 7
But when i use the scroll wheel for the sound, at the front of my laptop
    image:
http://pan.fotovista.com/dev/2/7/01080772/l_01080772.jpg (the scroll wheel is at the right of the audio output, barely visibly on the picture but couldn't find a better one.)
But when i scroll it (right or left) it also is putting the letter C on the window(if i have a application open where you can type or where c is a shortcut to something). This is very annoying, does anyone know a solution?
    thank you.

  • Can't access widgets with scroll wheel

I have always been able to access my Widgets by pressing down on the scroll wheel in my mouse.
Now, suddenly, the widgets don't appear.
I haven't done anything different to my MBP, except that I upgraded to Snow Leopard.
I already went into System Preferences/Mouse and also System Preferences/Expose and Spaces but I am unable
to activate the scroll wheel to open my Widgets.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
    Thank you!!!

Hi Chester, I assume you are waiting about minute for the Widgets to load, they take a while when you connect for the first time after a restart, log out or shutdown. If they do not load try this:
Navigate to ~(yourhome)/library/preferences and trash these 2:
    com.dashboard.client.plist
    com.dashboard.plist
Then log out and back in or restart. Let us know. (You'll need to reset your Widgets the way you like them).

  • 3G iPod nano with scroll wheel when the iPod is connected

The scroll wheel of my brand new 3G iPod doesn't respond when I plug it in a dock cable (the dock connector of the USB cable and the dock connector of the FM tuner). The iPod is recognized by the computer and can be synchronized. The FM tuner is working except that I can't use the scroll wheel.
It seems to be an hardware problem. I try to reset it several times without success.
    Thanks in advance

No it is every time I just plug the iPod through the dock even the FM tuner.
Any connection of the dock connector deactivate the scroll wheel.

  • Zoom:Use Scroll wheel with Modifier Keys to Zoom

Help! Since the 10.6 update from 10.4.11, I can no longer zoom in and out by holding Command while moving scroll ring on my Kensington Expert Mouse. I have tried other modifier keys to no avail.
I suspect a conflict, but do not know where to fix it. When in Firefox 3.5.2., Command plus scroll ring zooms the active window nicely. Any ideas or should I provide feedback to Apple or both? Thanks! DJ

The default key for scrolling zoom is not Command but Control. To change this, go to System Preferences —> Universal Access and click on the Seeing tab. In the Zoom pane, click on the Options button, and in the sheet that drops down, select the text box at the bottom, highlight the character there, then press the modifier key you prefer.

  • Controlling zoom with scroll effect

  • When I have a tab open with a pdf open in acrobat scrolling (with scroll wheel) will not work in any other tabs

As in question title, acrobat version is 10.0.1.434

I am using Firefox 8.0 and am having the same problem. I think this problem has existed since very early versions of FF. Very annoying. Chrome seems to do fine with the same situation.

  • I've updated FF to 15.0.1; now there are no new tab boxes, and I cannot delete a tab with scroll wheel.

    I'm using Windows XP.
So, there used to be a little square box next to last tab opened that I could click on to open a new tab. Now I can only open a new tab if I double click on blank space next to last tab opened.
And I used to be able to open a bunch of tabs, do what I needed to do, and then click center scroll of mouse down the line to delete what I no longer needed. Now the only way I can close tabs is to use the x on the right-hand side of the tab I'm currently on. But, sometimes it does work...
Nothing has changed about how I have FF set up--just the update.

Thank you for the answer about the customize window. That solved one problem. As far as the other issue, I've gone back to an earlier version of Firefox so that I can once again use center scroll to delete tabs.
