Zooming difficulties

Hi
I have just purchased Captivate 2 and I am having probs with
setting the zoom feature. I checked Help but did not assist. Does
anyone know where I can get more detailed instructions? I am trying
to have an image that is located in the top left corner move in to
the centre of the screen increasing in size. If I use image zoom it
may give me the look I want rather than a zoom 'area'
I know it must be simple but....
Debbie

Hi Debbie
Here's how I do it.
1. Click
Insert > Zoom Area...
2. Configure your Frame color options
3. Click the
Select image... button
4. Choose an image
This should result in two different objects on the screen.
One is the image that will "float in", and the other is the place
where the float will begin.
5. Double-click the Zoom Area object and adjust
Frame width and
Fill transparency options.
6. Position the Zoom Area object in the corner and size as
desired.
7. Position the Zoom Destination Area in the center of the
screen.
Hopefully this helps... Rick

How if even possible do I go back to pre O.S.7 after wi-fi update? My vision is impaired and new O.S.7 is difficult to see and I can no longer zoom my fav web pages? I backed nothing up of coarse and I don't have access to my desk top not that it would run for 10 mins without crashing? Help! Going blind!!

Sorry, you can't downgrade. Look: Settings>General>Accessibility...things like Bold Text...see if any changes here will help.

  • Why can't we have the whole photo as our background and y is it difficult to zoom in and out or move the pic to the left and the right?

iPad 3 is having difficulties  with changing the backgound, sometimes it won't change it's won't zoom out or in,or  move the pic to the left or right , also get the whole picture,

It's a glitch, no idea when or if Apple will fix it.
One work around is to go to the photos app and 'send' your photo to be wall paper. It gives you a bit more control, even if it doesn't give you all that you used to have.

I've got a touch iPod and for about a week now it's almost been permenently zoomed into the screen? I actually cannot get it to zoom back out. I've tried pulling the screen out with my fingers but that doesn't work. It's zoomed in on my home pages, on my music, settings everything! It makes simple things like deleting a number from my password login extreamly differcult. Please can someone help?!?! Thanks.

Double tap the screen with three fingers to un-zoom.
Then go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom and turn this OFF.

Next time you accidentally use 3 fingers it will zoom again. Unless you need the feature you're better to turn it off

  • Image display control scrolling does not work properly when zoomed in

I am using a ROI on an image in the image display control. When zooming into the image to fine-adjust the positioning of the ROI, the image scrolling does not work properly. As far as I understand, the image should scroll automatically when the ROI is leaving the visible area. However, the scrolling behaviour seems to depend on the origin of the Labview panel, not the origin of the image display control, which might require to move the ROI way out of the visible area before the scrolling takes place. In other words: the coordinate system of the image display control is shifted with respect to the true visible image area, depending on where you place it on the front panel. As a consequence, when clicking on a ROI which is in the visible area, but is outside of what Labview thinks is the visible area, it might immediately jump to the left border of the image, making the positioning of the ROI really difficult.
Has anyone noticed this behaviour, and what would be a reliable solution to avoid this?

    Hello,
no, I am not talking about the tools palette. Just place an image control with some image in it on a new VI front panel. Then, use the rectangle from the tools and select a ROI in the image. If you zoom in (using the magnification glass), and then grab the ROI and move it around, the image scroll with the ROI. So far, so good. If you now place the image control elsewhere on the panel, or add new control above it, resize the panel, etc. , this scrolling when moving the ROI will not work correctly if the origin (0,0) of the panel is far away from the image control.
I have attached a VI for simplicity (although there is hardly any code in it).
If you make a ROI and try to move it down, you will notice that scrolling starts if you move the mouse out to about 10cms below the image (depens on your screen, of course). After that, if you click on the ROI, the scroll bars and ROI might jump up to the upper end of the image. Imagine how annoying this is if you try to finely adjust the ROI position.
I think it is a bug in the implementation of the image display control.
    Thanks,
    Dirk

Try the waveform zoom slider. Recording louder just to get a better visible waveform would be, well, silly.
From the manual: (click on links to see pics)
To change the zoom level using the Waveform Zoom button
Click-hold the Waveform Zoom button. A slider appears.
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicpro/usermanual/Art/S01/S0185_WaveZoom.png
Drag the slider. As you do, the waveform shown in all audio regions, and in the Beat Mapping track, is increased or decreased in size.

Note: This is a purely visual function. The amplitude (level) of the waveform is not affected.

There are two ways to turn off Zoom:
    1. Connect to iTunes. Go to the iPhone summary pane and click the "Configure Universal Access" button. Then turn Zoom off.
    2. Double-tap the phone's screen with three fingers. Then go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Zoom and tap the Zoom On/Off switch.

  • Word wrap in design editor when zoomed

    Hello
I use 9.0.1 version of RoboHelp HTML and I'm working on a shared project. I have a Dell Laptop and also have an external monitor that I have configured as an extended desktop. The external monitor is what I use to edit in RoboHelp. The resolution is set to 1366 x 768.
I'm finding that when I edit topics in Robohelp at 100%, it is difficult to read the text, I must be showing my age!  OK, I admit to wearing multifocal lenses.
Anyway, I would really love to be able to zoom up to 125% or even 110%, but the problem is that the text does not wrap and I end up having to scroll sideways to see an entire line.  I've even closed or minimized some of my other panes to increase my real estate for the main Design window but still end up having to scroll.
Also, I don't want to make any changes that would potentially affect the output, e.g. Page Setup changes.
I found a similar question to mine dating back two years http://forums.adobe.com/message/2530838 which shows a status of 'unanswered'- although some people did reply with suggestions including to raise a new feature request ticket.
I'm hoping that RoboHelp has included this as a new feature in the meantime and I just dont' know how to access it.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Rose

Sorry but this is a longstanding complaint.

  • When using multiple displays, is it possible to only have full screen zoom (universal access) only effect one display?

I am visually impaired which makes it difficult for me to use computers. The zoom feature in Mac OS is extremly useful to me and is the first reason I choose mac over windows. Although, now that I've been using a mac for 8 years, I would pick a mac any day! For my work flow, I utilize two displays. It would help me greatly if there was a way to only effect one display with the zoom feature.
    Thank you for your input,
    Zachary

    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11488
You can set the zoom to ONLY follow your mouse (And adjust the size of the "zoom window" that follows it). I used to use this with Quick time Editing when I had a 13" iMac.

  • Pan and Zoom in a Windows instead of Full Screen?

    Hi,
Tried using the Pan & Zoom and found it very difficult to work with. I had an image I wanted to be displayed on the screen but I only wanted it to use 1/3 of the screen. I sized the image and then went to pan/zoom. The image re-sized to full screen and then from there I could use the tool. Is there a way to use this tool but have the image remain the same size I set previously?

    protivakid
What are you now using for pan and zoom? Is it the Premiere Elements 12 Pan and Zoom Tool under Tools Menu?
For starter, please take a look at the Steve Grisetti free video tutorial on the basics of using the Premiere Elements Pan and Zoom Tool as found in versions 11 or 12.
    http://www.lynda.com/Elements-tutorials/Creating-motion-path-Pan-Zoom-tool/109763/117259-4 .html
If that does not help, we can go into more details, those specific to your particular requirements.
If all else fails, you can always go the non Pan and Zoom Tool route for your pans and zooms. To do that, you would keyframe the Motion Scale property (Zoom) and the Position property (Pan). See Applied Effects/Applied Effects Palette/Motion Panel expanded to reveal its properties which include Scale and Position.
Please review and consider and let us know what supplemental information you need.
    Thank you.

  • PDFs in X are now hard to read unless lots of zoom.  Any solution?

Used to have Reader 9.  Pdfs, even if small, were easy to read on screen.
But now with Reader 10 (X), PDFs, even when shown on screen at 8.5" x 11" or larger on my 24" monitor, are difficult to read.  End up having to use lots of zoom to make the document readable.  But since only part of the document is now on the screen, I have to scroll.
Thought that Reader 10 would be an upgrade to 9, but the reading of PDFs has greatly deterioriated.
Is there any solution to this?  Is this a known bug?
    Thank you

What makes it "easy" or "difficult" to read; the font size, or does the text appear blurred?  Please explain.

  • My iPad has "zoomed in" whilst using "Pages"-now frozen in zoom

I was typing away...then suddenly the screen zoomed in and I could no longer see what I had been doing.
I've tried navigating my way out of it using finger gestures...it doesn't work. Seems to be stuck in zoom.
I've done a hard reset... no change. I've reset the iPad to factory settings and reloaded everything. That made no difference either...
It is very difficult to navigate through the screens and get into settings because they don't appear on the screen. They can't be scrolled-to either as the screen view just springs back to zoom in the centre at the top of the screen. I had to move the app icons in settings in iTunes, so I could open Pages again or to get into my Settings preferences. If I turn it upside down, I can get to the icons on the bottom of the screen - but that's the only way I've been able to.
It seems as though the background is drifting around independantly of the icons in the foreground. I noticed this when I was trying to scroll and zoom-in / zoom-out.
Has anyone else had this problem?...or know what to do to solve the issue?? The ipad is totally usless as it is - except as a paperweight maybe...
The operating system is 4.3.3 (8J3)
...actually, I've just discovered that I can slowly scroll the screen by touching an edge - still...it's useless

    Thanks!
I don't know how I managed to zoom in to start with? I was typing madly
Anyway...that is a lesson I'll be sure to remember...

  • Any solution to pixelated images when zooming?

Wondering if there is a solution to prevent pdf images on transparent background from pixelating when zoomed in.
This is a screen capture. There are two knife images. The large white knife is a pdf on a transparent background saved at 108 ppi in photoshop, it is part of a object state/slide show (saved as vector obviously since type is sharp) that fades in. Doesn't seem to matter what size/dimensions I use, it still gets blurry when you pinch and zoom.
    See here:
The smaller black knife image at top left is also a pdf on transparent background, saved at 108 ppi in photoshop. It is not an object state, etc.
The knife images look fine at full screen on the iPad, but once you pinch and zoom, both images loose focus and become blurry.
Any solution to this? The images need to be pdf (or png - which I understand will not scale at all), because they are on transparent backgrounds.
    Thanks!

  • Is Lightroom intentionally made difficult for non-English users?

Could it be that Lightroom is intentionally made difficult for the non-English user? I came to this forum today hoping to find an answer and all I see is problems when I try searching the forum, and complicated instructions on how to, supposdely, solve this issue. The issue I am facing has to do with localization, compatibility, interoperability and compliance. The problem is that I can't use many of the Lightroom shortcuts. Many of the ones that require the use of a modifier key on my keyboard just don't work. So what if I have a Swedish keyboard? Sweden is one of the most computer literate contries in the world, and Sweden has played a major role in the development of early computers and new technologies. Adobe has a presence in this country, and I'm quite sure Sweden is an important market for Adobe. So why not make Lightroom compatible with the Swedish keyboard? Why should I care to go through complicated instructions on how to hacktivate my keyboard by the means of editing config or script files? Why can't it just work out of the box?
I feel like this is intentional. Could it be that Lightroom users are only to be found in English speaking countries like USA, UK, New Zealand and Australia? I don't think so.

How about the ability to change keyboard shortcut bindings, i.e. custom shortcuts? I just found that this is not even possible in Lightroom! That explains why people take these strange measures and kludgy ways of making custom shortcuts in Lightroom. Changing shortcuts is often times tricky business because you have to change them in respect to other shortcuts. It's likely that one will have to change several keyboard shortcuts to avoid conflicts, etc. Lightroom needs a shortcut editor!
One should really not even have to change the default shortcuts, Adobe should choose some intelligent key combinations that make sense, and they should just work on any keyboard. I've tried changing the language from English to Swedish in Lightroom settings. The result of this is that nearly all shortcuts are changed to something else, so I would have to re-learn some of the shortcuts I have already learned using Lightroom in English, and of course this also changes the language of the interface which is not something I want. I will have to change my keyboard layout to English to make this work, or get a secondary keyboard, one with English layout. This is something I will only have to do when I work in Lightroom, because many of the professional programs that I use are working just fine with my keyboard. Perhaps Adobe can make the keyboard localization (shortcut maps) as an option, separate from the interface language setting? And for God sake integrate a keyboard shortcut editor for once!

Another Swiss user on Lightroom forums:
    http://www.lightroomforums.net/showthread.php?6867-Flippy-Key-Using-Lightroom-in-english-w ith-a-non-english-keyboard-layout
I ended up removing the Keyboard Tamer plugin and then manually adding following strings to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\en\TranslatedStrings.txt. This is by the way something that the Keyboard Tamer plugin does as well, because when I removed it I found two files named TranslatedStrings.txt in the Recycle Bin. The Keyboard Tamer is just supposed to save you the time and effort of manually manipulating these strings.

    I found this thread helpful:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1459525#1459525#1459525
I just replaced AgDevelop with AgLibrary. This of course only changes the key binding for Zoom In and Zoom Out in the Library module. Is there perhaps a document somewhere that explains the structure of the TranslatedStrings.txt file? There seems to be one of these files in each of the language specific folders under the Resources folder.
This file is known to be found in:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources>dir /b /s TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\de\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\en\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\es\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\fr\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\it\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\ja\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\ko\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\nl\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\pt\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\sv\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\zh_cn\TranslatedStrings.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\zh_tw\TranslatedStrings.txt
I will study the structure of this file in Resources\sv\ and try to understand it. And as I find new "flaws" in the shortcut key bindings I will make new edits to the file I saved in Resources\en\ accordingly.
Here's an idea: those of you who don't mind re-learning all the shortcuts - the localized shortcuts for Swedish keyboards - simply copy the TranslatedStrings.txt file from C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\sv\ and paste it in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4\Resources\en\. What this does it allows you to keep English as your interface language, but it changes the shortcut map to something that's more adopted for the Swedish keyboard layout. You get the same shortcut key bindings as the ones you see when you change the language to Swedish in the settings. But this way you are preventing Lightroom from changing the interface language.
Either that, or add new strings to an empty Resources\en\TranslatedStrings.txt file for each key binding you find to be broken and not compatible with your keyboard. This way you are only making changes to the key bindings that don't work very well for your keyboard, you are not chaning all of the shortcut key bindings. The other key bindings stay the same, the default key bindings found in the English version of Lightroom (or with English as language settings).
This is a way to adapt Lightroom for your own environment. But this is still too complicated and unncessary. A simple shortcut editor built into Lightroom would have solved this. But what are we going to do?... this is up to Adobe... Lightrooms have been complaining about the lack of a shortcut editor since at least Lightroom 2 and Adobe has not listened. So I don't expect to see this feature in the following years to come. It might just come along in maybe Lightroom version seven or something... but who cares?... At that time I might even ditch Lightroom altogether.
    Ligthroom 5 upgrade...
I just found out that the new Lightroom 5 is not compatible with Windows Vista. I have the Vista Ultimate 64-bit on my desktop where I use Lightroom. This was not made very clear by Adobe. They simply state that Lightroom 5 works on Mac and on Windows. You have to read the fine print. I almost purchased the upgrade. I'm glad I didn't. I won't upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 just to run Lightroom 5! We, the early Windows Vista adapters, got screwed by Microsoft. Now, we are getting screwed by Adobe too! I see no reason not to support Windows Vista as it is pretty much the same system as Windows 7, and one would expect Adobe to support them both. I found a thread about it where one user asked why Vista was not supported and Adobe failed to give any explanation. They just silently dropped the OS support.
I guess they can do whatever they want. They are Adobe.
But I will not upgrade to Windows 7 because of Lightroom, so I won't upgrade to Lightroom 5. This is a great oppertunity for Phase One to strike with a good deal, such as a discounted migration upgrade for Capture One. I am sure many Lightroom 4 users would be happy to leave the Lightroom ship in favor of Capture One. At the end of life of Lightroom 4 I will probably just go to Capture One, even if I have to pay full price. At least they support Windows Vista.
