Zooming, I must be missing something....

I'm wanting to zoom in on an area more than the "Zoom to actual size" command does, to get a more detailed look while using the retouch tool. (tried retouching within the frame of the loop, doesn't work) This seems so basic I must be missing something.

You're absolutely right -- Aperture needs an iPhoto-like zoom slider for the entire Viewer window, especially for the reason you describe. There are situations where either the Z-key 100% toggle or the Loupe magnification simply aren't the best tools for the job at hand.
It's one of the MANY (as in several dozen) "enhancement requests" I've sent to Aperture Feedback, many of which (like this one) just strike me as Don't-Even-Release-the-Beta-Until-You've-Got-This-One-Enabled kind of feature.

I must be missing something simple

about a month ago I signed up Creative cloud monthly plan. I downloaded bridge and photoshop. When I click on window to see what has been downloaded it says photoshopCC and bridge CC is up to date. I can open bridge but not photoshop. I have tried and tried to figure it out and must be missing something simple. NowI am frustrated and need help.

What is the iCloud Status of the tracks that are not showing on the iOS device?
Switch to Song view and pull down View > View Options then select "iCloud Status" then close the small window.

Must e Missing Something

Surely there is another way to delete existing info. from a keyboard field so that new info can be entered. Can we highlight info to delete it quickly? If so this is proving very difficult. For now I have to press the Delete key repeatedly and it's getting wearisome.

Instead of repeatedly pressing the delete key if you just keep it pressed it will keep deleting characters and eventually speed up and start deleting whole words.

Right, deep breath.
I've had the snow leopard install disk for months (upgrading from 10.5.8) and have not been able to install for various reasons.. I get constant error msg's that seem to vary with install attempts. Anyway my focus is not on them today as I installed successfully for the first time... eh not quite.
I got myself an external HD and backed everything up using superduper. worked great. Then I booted to the snow leopard dvd, did a fresh install by clearing my drive in disk utility and hooray! I was navigating around SL for the first time. But it was brief.
I then restarted and booted from my external drive and used superduper to restore all files back onto my internal HD and after hours waiting I restarted to find I'm stuck again with 10.5.8!!!!!!
Now I know I must of done something really quite stupid here but how can I do pretty much what I described but keeping SL the next time around. It's 4am here and i cant think straight so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jason.

I am not sure if got all the details.. when you boot from the external you will be on 10.5.8 b/c that is what was backed up now when restore the information it is probably an option so you won't restore the boot/system files have you checked all the options?

Activesync - I must be missing something

Hello all. I am trying to set up activesync so I can then us PDANet. Downloaded activesync, installed it.. I then try to connect to my Centro phone and it does not error out it just searches and then says "your device was not detected". I can see the the device is connected on device manager, and also in my computer. Am I missing something? Does the activesync also need to be loaded on my centro also? if so how the heck do I get it there. Heading out for a week and need to connect here and there next week. Help please. THanks

Hello doublekay2, Welcome to the Palm Support Community.
Your Centro is a PalmOS device - not Windows Mobile. PalmOS devices use the software that came with them to Sync, namely Palm Desktop and the built-in HotSync Manager.
Windows Mobile devices use MicroSoft ActiveSync to communicate to a PC.

I must be missing something...is there a video that teaches how to create, save and open a session?

I just don't seem to get it. Opening an old session seems difficult if you can't remember the specific name. Files in those sessions are not saved it seems unless you save each one individually. (Am I wrong here) Can someone help this early morning radio guy...I must be missing a step but I can't figure it out.

Audition won't let you close a session with unsaved files without putting up a warning about it - and you get an option to save all of them. By default, files get put in the {session name}_Recorded file with the sesx file (the session information) in the root folder. In there as well you can get Bounced file folders, and also one for mixdowns. When you first create a session, you get to choose the path you use, and everything else just occurs in a structure beneath that, which you can add to if you want. Whenever you need to save things, you get a browse option as well - worth using that first.
I really don't think it's that difficult, and the new scheme (yes it's not quite like the previous version) seems to work fine. With the best will in the world, Adobe can't compensate for anybody's amnesia though! Since there isn't a particular limit on what name you give your sessions, then the best thing to do if you're likely to forget is to give them longer, more meaningful names - and make sure that the folder they're in has the same name. Also, try to keep a relatively flat folder structure - in other words, don't have them nested several layers deep in a huge tree structure - that never helps.

I must be missing something

I have a maxtor sata drive. When I try to use maxblast 3, their partitioning and format program, I can't customize the partition size.
If you are familiar with this app, when I try to set the size, I can't move the slide to increase the size beyond 0.
It is seeing the drive, this is in the windows part of this app. Also, bios is seeing the drive.
I've tried to boot from the cd & floppy and they both hang at where it says that the cd player program is installed.
I have downloaded new programs from maxtor's site, still no luck.
Anyone have this problem, or can tell me what I am missing?

Yes, you have missed something you missed reading the users manual. It's called Logic Pro 7. It came with your Logic Pro 7 software. None of the GM
instruments will work unless you set them up. If you don't want to set anything up then delete all the GM tracks and load a synth into an audio instrument
track. When you play your Midi keyboard I'm sure you'll hear something nice. If you would rather not read the manual check this site out. www.macprovideo.com

K8n np - I must be missing something (memory settings)

My k8n seems to be running ok for the most part, but I can't seem to get it to run my lovely bh5 ram at ddr 400. Now, I can lower the CPU multiplier and raise the FSB to 250 to get 206mhz@222 10, and memtest seems fine.... so it wouldn't appear to be a shortcoming in the ram. Same behavior if I run with only 1 stick and/or disconnect everything except video card, cpu and ram.
The only setting I can find that seems remotely related is the memory clock limiter (setting it to 200mhz doesn't appear do it). Surely there is a setting in the bios for me to manually set the ram to run 1:1 with the fsb.... or force it to run at a lower divider if I decide to try pushing the FSB to the 300ish range.
So... make me feel stupid and tell me my brain is on vacation. I am sure I am missing something here....

Indeed it seems it should run at 1:1 on auto, but setting the memory on auto makes it run at 166 3/4/3/7 instead of 200. And that table is a lovely reference, but it doesn't help me find where in the bios I can actually set those values.
For testing this I have removed all components except for:

3200+ clawhammer stepping
2x512 buffalo pc-3700 bh-5 chips
ati 9600 video card
generic cd-rom
removing the sata drive allows me to boot off the cd rom into memtest or a knoppix cd with more than 220FSB...

When releasing an update to the world, usually there is a list of items that are addressed in the bug fix.
Does anyone know where apple list the items that were fixed when they release an update to the iPhone firmware? Am I missing it?
Even Mikeysoft puts out an explanation of what's being fixed when an update is released. **** even developers of freeware applications list the bug's they are fixing.

Well, sure. If you're having a problem with A and the bugfix says it's addressing B and you have no use for B, why apply a potentially bad update? Then when bugfix C comes along and it IS something you feel you need, you can update to get C and hopefully any problems with B will have been ironed out making it safe to get that particular update.
Case in point -- this forum. There are a lot of people reporting problems with the 2.0.2 update. Personally, I didn't update to it because I don't have anything that I see that needs an immediate fix. Waiting for the dust to settle to see if, indeed, there was a problem with the 2.0.2 update.
H@ll, my wife has never updated from 1.0.1 and she skips merrily along, but if the bugfix said that all of a sudden she wouldn't have any dropped calls or get great reception, she would THEN update, never before.

Neither mouseover/hover nor click on Photos/Year view shows image preview zoom. Am I missing something?

I have seen video reviews of a cursor hover working, and Apple's Photos website says to click on a thumbnail to show a zoomed preview. Neither method is working to show previews of a tiny Year view photo. If I click, the entire view enlarges, not just the individual photo.
I apparently converted my library to Photos from iPhoto on the last update. Not a lot of warning there. I have chosen to save images on my iMac, and to share across devices in iCloud. I have paid my fee to get the proper amount of storage in iCloud. I have begun the process of uploading my 30,000+ photo library to iCloud. It is chugging all my network resources, so have occasionally paused that process. ~25,000 to go.
The only Photos/Preferences/General setting I believe I have changed is to uncheck "summarize photos" to see all the photos in a given year.
I am using the Apple trackpad.
Do I need to wait for something magical to happen or is there a setting or something else I need to do to see zoom previews by moving cursor over them?

Clicking and holding down on a tiny thumbnail for a moment will show a small preview, but once I release the holding down, the view changes to Moments, and no direct way back.
That is not a very efficient workflow. I am seeing this with "Summarise" disabled.

Bulleted List Help. I should know how to do this but I must be missing something.

I need to create a bulleted list that does this:

I can create a bulleted list.. but how do I created a nested bulleted list like above so that the 2nd item in the list is indented in and starts with an a. ?

In CS3, something like this
Create from Bullets and Numbering, Type > List, defaults to a numbered list. For the sub set create a copy of the first and set the List type to use a., b., c etc (from the numbering style, I also set level 2)

WRT 610n: HD attached...I must be missing something.

When I disconnect my computer from the router via ethernet cable and connect via wireless my computer sees and can utilize the Maxtor One Touch II I have connected via USB to my 610n router. When I reconnect to the router using the cable my system no longer sees the Maxtor.
What am I missing here?

Every computer connected wirelessly can use the Drive. Only when connected via ethernet cable is the Drive not seen.
I've repowered everything...router, computer, HarrDrive...Reninatalled Windows, Upgraded Firmware, Bought new cables.
I'm going to reformat HB, powercycle everything and try again......this is driving me insane not being abale to "understand" what's wrong.
