Zooming in on a map

Is there a way I can zoom in closer to an animated map/globe in iMovie '11?
If the distance between the start and end location is a decent length (over 200kms for example) the animation works nicely. However, on shorter distances the animation is barely noticeable.
If I could change the scale of the map or somehow zoom in closer to the locations I think it would look a lot better. I've tried the crop option but I can get in close enough with that.
Any ideas?
Thanks

If you're trying to move the map use both fingers held down firmly to swipe/move, effectively holding down both left and right buttons to get this icon:
in Apple's Maps and this icon
in Google's Maps .  And you're absolutely right, it's an agonizingly annoying.

  • Displaying themes based on Zoom levels in base map

    I am using Oracle AS MapViewer 10131.I have 3 themes added to a base map.
    I am using Oracle Mapbuilder to create Mapping metadata.I want to display the 3rd theme based on the zoom levels.I want to display it only at lower zoom levels.I have followed necessary instructions given in the Mapviwer user guide and mapbuilder help.
    But I am not able to display particular theme based on Zoom levels.
    For example I have min/max scale 70,000/0 for Streets theme set using mapbuilder.This theme should be displayed only at that scale.But I am getting this theme displayed at all min/max scales (zoom levels).While creating the Map Cache Instance given the min/max scales 1000/25000000, the default values.Here the scale values look contradictory to the theme scale values given in mapbuilder.Is this where I am going wrong? or while setting scale for themes?
    I hope you understand my problem.Please help me about this.this is urgent.
    Thanks in advance!!

    My problem is solved now.I am able to display themes on zoom levels.The solution is, I set the min/max scale (zoom levels) in Map Cache Instance as "Ratio" and in theme i set it to "Screen-Inch".The scale of theme is not understood by the map cache instance.So finally i set both the scales to "Ratio" and it is working fine as i expected.
    Anyway thanks for yout interest in helping me.I will surely make a post here if i got stuck in further work.

  • Images do not load in foxfire, but load ok in IE. such as the zoom bar in google maps

    I'm using Firefox 9. when I goto sites such as amazon, the images do not load. I can right click on the image box and select view image and the image will be displayed in a new page. An other example is google maps. The zoom bar on the left does not display. If I move the cursor over where the zoom bar is suppose to be the cursor will change to the hand and I can left click to work the zoom. If I bring up Internet Explorer all images, etc work ok.

    You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    *Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    *Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    *Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    *Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    *Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    *If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • Zoom and pan square map, how to modify for landscape ?

    Seeking a little help here. Easy for coders but I have no
    coding knowledge.
    I am using a freeware zoom and pan flash file
    http://www.flashkit.com/search.php?term=zoom&cat=movies&per=10&field=Description&page=4
    image viewer with proper panning by Erin Brewer.
    Also found by going to flash kit website and searching on the
    word zoom then going to page 4, if the link fails to take you
    there.
    There is not much to this , it has some action script. What
    do I need to alter in the script to allow this to show the entire
    map to start with, and allow zoom and pan to all parts of the map ?
    I need this to work for A4 proportioned maps landscape. The
    author says:- … Very easy to modify for you needs.
    The download is of a square one. With an 18x25 shape map
    replacing the square one I find it pans right then stops before
    reaching maps right hand side. Map is landscape 18 x 25 and it gets
    stuck 4.3 units from the far right.
    Can anyone take a look at it and indicate what needs modding
    No reply from Author.
    Many thanks

    Is this a video shot that you are using?
    any time you move the center point, you have to adjust the scale correspondingly.

  • Remove Zoom scale of Google maps in OBIEE 11g Mapviewer

    Hi,
    While integrating Google maps with OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 , we are able to see two Zoom scales one for BI layer and another for Base map layer (Google Map).
    When we select the former Zoom scale (BI Layer) , our views have been placed in exact countries. But when we select latter one, only base map i.e., Google map is zooming without upholding the views(Color fill,Image,Bar Graph,etc.,).
    So is there any way to bring synchronization between two layers with one zoom scale.
    Kindly help me to sort out this issue.
    Thanks in advance!

    Will require backport of a fix for mapviewer (oraclemaps.js) that has to be part of the OBIEE patchset.
    Filing a bug would help the process.

  • Zoom in to Catalonia map gives crash

    Hi,
    Every time when I zoom in in the area of Tarragone, in Catalonia, in Spain, my maps app crashes. Is this an error in the map? I have removed the map and downloaded it again, but it keeps crashing.
    I have a Nokia 808 pureview.
    Erwin
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
    In Nokia Suite maps I pressed the "remove everything" button. (perhaps the button is named differently in English, I use Dutch language). Then I downloaded the Catalonia map. Now the problem is gone. I can zoom into every street in Tarragona.
    I saw one strange thing. While Nokia Suite was deleting all maps, I saw that it was deleting map Spain. While I already removed map Spain before. Spain was not listed on my phone in the map downloader app, or shown as map on my phone in Nokia Suite.
    best regards,
    Erwin

    in my project , in need write a map of a building.
    Sounds like you are working with graphics, not collections
    i would like to use zoom fucntion to let user to look
    into the room number in the box instead of room
    Yeah, sounds like you need to be posting in the Java2D forums
    do the j2me have this function and how to implement
    I'm sure there are 2D graphics calls you can make in J2ME. You basically need to get the subimage or subsection of the original image, then scale it to the size of the canvas and redraw.

  • Google Maps zooms with Apple magic mouse

    Ever since I bought the Apple magic mouse, I've noticed that whenever I use Google Maps via my desktop Apple, the map will zoom without me telling it to in street view.  This is INCREDIBLY annoying when trying to view a street or move across the map.  Anyway one else encounter this issue?  Anyone have a solution?

    Hey Dogs 'n Front- I have the same problem- I've had a Magic Mouse for years and never had the zoom problem with Google maps up until maybe a year ago?It's actually a fairly common problem that even CNET had an article about it a few years ago- sadly the problem still exists. I have a MacBook Air as well and have no problem with the trackpad scroll zoom and Google Maps, seems the Magic Mouse is just too sensitive...

  • Zoom level in WPF Application consuming Bing Maps Web Services

    Hi,
    I am having trouble in setting the zoom level for the map with 7 pushpins (P1 through P7). The map is centered with point P1. I want all the push pins to show on the map. I have set the zoom level as follows.
    Zoom Level 15 - if the points (P2...P7) are within 1 mile from P1
    Zoom Level 14 - if the points (P2...P7) are between 1.1 and 1.5 miles from P1
    Zoom Level 10 - if the points (P2...P7) are > 1.5 miles from P1.
    If there a better way (like autozoom) to do this?
    Thanks.

    Rick,
    I have attached the map generated using SOAP services.
    I tried to generate the same map using REST services as follows.

    The REST services map looks like its zoomed in compared to the SOAP services map. However the road/street names are missing. Is there any way to get the road/street names in the REST services map like in the online bing maps? Please advise.

  • Cannot map up/down keys for sequence zoom in premiere pro CS 5.5 (Mac)

    Hi all,
    Since year and day I use in Premiere Pro my own custom keyboard settings, a slightly modified Avid layout. I always kept and saved the .kys file. It's dated all the way back from CS3 and I used it (within WIndows) up to CS 5.
    Now I have a Mac with CS 5.5, but a few things annoy me:
    - If I want to import my .kys file, where to place it? For CS5 in Windows 7, Its \users\somename\appdata\roaming\adobe\premiere pro\5.0 . I have no clue for a similar location on my Mac.
    - More importantly, I cannot create a good working preset based based on Avid. As I map the keys for zooming in the sequence (up and down), it doesn't work and only jumps around to the next and previous screen in my sequence instead of zooming! ANY other key combo works, including FN+Arrow, except for the arrow keys! Thid did not occur on CS5 on my windows machine.
    Thank you and best regards.

    Cant find any .kys file on the Mac
    Did you check the path I posted above?
    User\Application Support\Adobe\Premiere Pro
    It's possible that the Mac version doesn't use file extensions for these files--that's a common Mac trick.
    I went to Keyboard Shortcuts, and then Sequence > Zoom In , Zoom Out. I mapped the keys Up and Down to them. If I select my current sequence I'm working in, and try to zoom in with the freshly mapped keys, nothing happens but again it skips to a later point in the timeline.
    Yep; I can replicate this behavior on a PC, but...
    Originally the arrow keys are used for 'Next/Previous Screen' in the Avid preset I modified, but I cant find that setting nowhere in my Keyboard Shortcuts dialog.
    That's precisely why. I'm not sure how Premiere Pro assigns priority to different commands, but clearly, if those commands are set, they override the desired behavior that you assigned above. The solution is simple: go to Panels > Timeline Panel (or just search for "screen") and clear the shortcuts for Show Next Screen and Show Previous Screen (or assign them to other keyboard shortcuts), like this:
    Once you do that, the Up and Down keys as assigned in Application > Sequence > Zoom In/Out will operate as you like.
    FWIW, I don't think this qualifies as a bug; it's simply a matter of something having to take precedence/priority over something else. Hope that works for you.

  • Jan. Update.. No zoom out on Maps?

    Simple, however very frustration question: is there no way to zoom out on the maps? Also, when I type in an address, it cannot find it. Is there a special input method to finding specific places? and also is there any way to input names of businesses to find them in a certian city? I might have missed something along the way but I'm having trouble with these issues.

    1) you zoom out the same way you zoom in and out from pictures and webpages
    2) adresses should usually be something like "street, city, state" or "street, city, country" ... though google maps takes quite a lot of formats. make sure not to abbreviate street with "str.", I found that to cause problems sometimes.
    3) just move/zoom the map to get the map-section of the area where you want to find a buisness in (so for example your home city). then type in the buisness name. pins will pop down for every search result.

  • Can't display Georaster in Oracle Maps

    Please help!
    I'm trying to display a georaster in Oracle Maps, without success. The georasters in question display normally in PCI's Focus, eSpatial's iSMART, and MapBuilder preview, but nothing is display in Oracle Maps.
    I have copied jai_codec.jar, jai_core.jar, jai_imageio-1.1.2.jar into
    D:\APPSVR\j2ee\MapViewer\applications\MapViewer10131\web\WEB-INF\lib. I don't get any errors in mapviewer.log set to finest (appended to bottom of post).
    I'm using AS 10.1.3.1.0, MapViewer 10.1.3.1 from patch 6453515, and the 10.1.0.3.1 enterprise database.
    In Oracle Maps I have this code:
         foi = new MVThemeBasedFOI('MOSAIC2','MOSAIC2');
         this.mapview.addThemeBasedFOI(foi);
    The georaster has spatial extents:

    GEORASTER.SPATIALEXTENT(SDO_GTYPE, SDO_SRID, SDO_POINT(X, Y, Z), SDO_ELEM_INFO,

    The spatial extent is in USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA and is indexed:

    Hi Bruce,
    for GeoRaster themes you can define a specific pyramid level to render, or you can leave the pyramid level null on the theme definition, and in this case MapViewer calculates the best level to render. The second option is recommended as it avoids loading unnecessary data given the current display parameters. If you are seeing your image get blocked, most likely at this zoom level and up you have reached the highest pyramid level of the GeoRaster. Even in MapBuilder if you keep zoom in, you get a blocked image after reaching the highest resolution level.

  • Unable to show Google map in Apex page

    Hi
    I have added the following code from Google's site in an HTML region but map is not showing. It can be simulated in Oracle's Apex site with same result.
    <!DOCTYPE html>

    var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"),
    myOptions);
    </script>
    </head>
    <body onload="initialize()">
    <div id="map_canvas" style="width:100%; height:100%"></div>
    Can you see map?
    </body>
    </html>
    Thanks for help.

    Is there a div element with an ID of map_canvas?
    document.getElementById("map_canvas")
    You can download the plugin I created, it has all the code etc:
    http://apex-plugin.com/oracle-apex-plugins/region-plugin/google-directions_55.html

  • HT5429 map does not show only the pins with no street view or labels

    The map details on my map appliction has disappeared. When I search for a location the pin shows up with no street view detail just a  yellow background screen

    Have you solved the issue?
    The same thing happens to me. The map details are gone, I just see the pin on a blank background. It happens on apple maps, google maps, waze, garmin. I zoomed out and the maps shows that im in Nigeria which is about 5000miles away from me
    Ive checked my location, tried checking on wifi and nothing worked.
