Leopard doesn't have that function??? was nice to zoom in when i wanted. anyone have any idea what happened to this function??

The zoom command is" command +" or "command -" there is no
"Option" in it.

Command+option+click no longer works?

Hi all.
I have always used the combination command+option+click a lot to switch app and hide all others. Last week, this combination stopped working in a few apps, and now it doesn't work anywhere. Either my computer has forgotten a few things, or there's been some strange background update that I'm not aware of. Anyone else with this problem?

Did you install anything last week?
Have you tried it in another user account? That will isolate it to your user account problem or system-wide.
Have you tried it in Safe Mode? That will isolate third-party software from interfering.

Command-option-eject wont put my macbook to sleep!

I dont know what the problem is here. Whenever i press command-option-eject, my display turns off and the sleep light turns on (non-pulsating), than about 10sec later i hear the cd-rom whir up as if it is coming out of sleep and the computer wakes up. Why isn't this working?

Make sure you don't press and hold the eject key, just press it quickly and let go. If that doens't work, and you have anything plugged into the MacBook, try it with those things unplugged.

When I try to zoom the text of an e-mail I received or sent , I can no longer use the keys Command + to enlarge the text, although I can reduce it with Command -.
As I have a problem with my eyes, This is a serious matter for me.
When I write an e-mail, if I select text and press Command +, it just displaces the text to the right.
Now, my husband has a USB keyboard. If he connects it to my computer, his regular Command + does not work either, but he uses the extended keyboard, then it works. Unfortunately, he needs it for a musical application which does not work with a wireless keyboard.

Firefox 3.6.4 and 3.6.6 use a process called, "plugin-container.exe" which was using up most of my CPU when I opened up multiple tabs that contained Adobe Flash files, and caused Firefox to lock up.
My solution was to use Firefox 3.5.10 which you can get from the Mozilla website at [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html]
I am using Adobe Flash 10.1.53.64 without any problem in this version of Firefox. Check the release notes, I believe it contains all the latest security fixes in "Firefox 3.6.4".
Hopefully, they will fix Firefox 3.6 in the next version (e.g. Firefox 3.6.7), until then you should probably use "Firefox 3.5.10".

Firstly, what is the source of the 10.6.4 disc? Is it the original installation disc for your MacBook, or one 'borrowed' from another computer?
It isn't the retail version, because that's 10.6.3.
Assuming it's the correct disc (i.e. the one that shipped with your Mac), you need to boot from it again.
OK the language page.
From the installer screen, ignore the continue button, go to the menu bar and choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
In DU, select your internal drive in the sidebar (the top item with the makers name and serial no.).
Run Repair Disk. If that comes up as disk OK, click the partition tab. Select the partiton from the drop-down above the graphic; 1 partiton is all you need.
Go to the options button and ensure that the partition scheme is GUID and the file system to Mac OS Extended (Journalled). Name the partiton (usually Macintosh HD), click Apply.
When the Macintosh HD volume appears below the drive name, quit DU and see if you can then install.
If the screen after the language screen doesn't show the menu bar, it may be necessary to use another Mac to do the job with the MB in Firewire Target Disc Mode. If it won't boot in TDM, or the MB doesn't have FireWire then it's getting very difficult.

I tend to select things from left to right and every time I am moving in a downward right diagonal motion during lasso selection I am missing a clear view and I am tending to have a more sloppy selection. All this does is slow me down since I need to go back and hit those areas again. The big arrowhead just get's in the way. The original lasso tool with the thin line and small active point at it's lower left was far better for me.
I don't like turning the cursors to precise because I like to see the active tool icon where my cursor is and as the icon changes as I hold modifier keys down. If I am forced to get comfortable with using pricise cursors I guess I will, but man, I've never had to do this in my 15 years of photoshop use...
I would absolutely LOVE to find a way to get the old lasso icon -- without the arrowhead above it.
Is there any chance this option could be inlcuded in cursor preferences? I'd give much thanks, Adobe.

You must specify an internal table with the row type RSPARAMS for rspar. The structured data type RSPARAMS is defined in the ABAP Dictionary and has the following components, all of which are data type CHAR:

SIGN (length 1),
OPTION (length 2),
LOW (length 45),
HIGH (length 45).
To supply parameters and selection criteria for the selection screen with specific values, the lines in the internal table rspar must contain the following values:

The contents of the parameters or selection tables for the current program can be entered in the table by the function module RS_REFRESH_FROM_SELECTOPTIONS.
Notes
In contrast to selection tables, the data types of the components LOW and HIGH in table rspar are always of type CHAR and are converted to the type of the parameter or selection criterion during transfer, if necessary.
When entering values, you must ensure that these are entered in the internal format of the ABAP values, and not in the output format of the screen display.

Using Command-Option-P-R keys the screen is gone black

I have used the Command-Option-P-R keys for resetting the PRAM but now the screen is black and can here the start up sound.
Please help me to slve this probem. I have changed the battery of the logic board but did not find any joy.

With all due respect to your totally coindescending reply, this is a bug in Flash. Happens every 4-5 times I use that menu item. Been happening for months, but we just installed a Brand new iMac (1/13). Quadcore 3.4 16G RAM and 1TB Fusion drive. Fresh install of CS6. Not running any other 3rd Party Software. Problem STILL happens in new Flash docs with small, simple vector Graphics.
So instead of blaming the users computers, how about you guys just fix the effin' problem? Thanks.

Use command option p r to start

I have a black screen unless I cycle twice holding command option P+R. My IMac 21.5 I 3 is fine after that, no screen problems, runs fine till shut off and restart then starts again white screen flickers then stays black. The iMac is running keyboard usb mouse ect.

A 2STF error code returned under such circumstances refers to fixed mass storage: onboard your iMac G5, that is the internal SATA hard disk.
A 2STR designation would indicate a problem with removable storage: again, on an iMac G5, this would indicate an issue with a UATA optical drive. This is a completely separate device bus, interconnected with a different cable, but ultimately tied to the same drive controller.
Both are indicative of hardware failures, so fixes involving software are a waste of time. In either case, Apple indicates that you should first reseat the interconnect cable between the device and the logic board. While the error is often an indication of drive failure, it can also indicate either a defective interconnect cable, or an issue with the drive controller ASIC on your logic board. Try re-seating the cable initially, and retest or continue to use the drive unless and until the error occurs again. Then, replace the cable and retest or continue to use the machine, as cables are incredibly inexpensive as contrasted with hard drives.
Be sure that at your first opportunity, that you back up your data, and do so periodically until you have isolated the issue and resolved it.

I cannot access one user on my iMac. When I log onto that user the dekstop appears unpopulated and blank and half of the programs do not appear on the operating bar. When I attempt to click on a program such as Safari nothing happens. Nothing works and I can only exit by doing a command/option/esc and restarting the computer. The other user and the Administrator work fine. What has disabled the one user? How do I recover this user and its files?

No.. I have been through parental control and it does not affect this problem. Now if I log onto this user I cannot get out even with a comman/option/escape; I have to unplug the power to the computer to get it to restart with the administrator. I saw somewhere that there is a process in which I can delete the use and then create a new user with the same name and password and then recover everything - but I cannot find that solution. This is a real problem for me, as you might imagine.

Force quit command option esc does not work in snow leopard

When I try to use this command I am sent to front row. I can force quit throught the apple menu. This began when I upgraded to Snow Leopard.

This might clear up some wierd inputs:
PRAM RESET
Zap the PRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
