Zooming on an image that's not the centre of picture?

Hi,
I have been trying to find a tutorial or info on how to do the following...
I am using PE4 and I like some of my images to zoom in on certain things in a photograph.  I am using the Presets which works fine if you want to zoom in to the centre of the photograph but how do I zoom in on an angle?  For example if there are 3 people in a photograph and I want the focus to be on the person on the right how do I change the path so that the zoom starts from full photograph (where pic is taking up the whole screen) and have it zoom towards the face of the person on the right side?  Is there a way to change the path without having to offset the photo to begin with?  At present I can only zoom into the centre which isn't always the effect I am after.
I have tried several things but am just having no luck - am I even in the right area?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks so much. I have taken an annual subscription to Muvipix.com and have already got my moneys worth!  I have tried unsuccessfully in the past to get that pan/zoom effect but now that I understand keyframing it makes it quite simple.
Just a question regarding the DVD menu templates that are able to be downloaded for subcribers - once downloaded, how do I use them as a menu template in my project (PE4)?  Do I have to go via "get media" or is there some other way to import them so that they can be used?
Thanks - I can see hours spent now watching tutorials!

  • About viewing images that are not the same dimensions as the iPod screen

I sent some images to my iPod via email. I saved them to my photo library. When I went to look at them, I noticed something odd was happening: my iPod is sort of 'stretching' the images so they fit the entire screen of my iPod, even if that means a) cutting off parts of the image (either top and bottom or the two sides), or b) is stretching the dimensions of the image to fit the screen--I can't tell which is happening, though I think the former.
I can view the image correctly by pinching it a bit, but if I move to another image and come back, it's back to being stretched.
I know that in Photoshop I can add a black boarder (either top and bottom or on the sides), so the image with the border matches the dimensions of the screen, but that seems like a pain in the rear to do with each image. This seems like an odd quirk of the iPod, given that they are trying to use the camera and image viewing as a selling point.
Is there any setting on the iPod so I can keep it from doing this (I noticed that it does this even with photos I take with the iPod camera, because they have slightly different dimensions than the screen)? And if not, does anyone know the ratio (side to top) or resolution (in pixels) of the screen so I can match it.
    Thanks, David

So generous people; thank you for your time.
I visited the camera store and we discovered that my camera lcd was set to the maximum brightness level which completely distorted any understanding of my exposure. What I now see on the lcd in terms of ligt and shadow is very similar to what I see on my computer screen.
Maybe you can shed light on this:
I also may need to just upgrade my imac. On the camera store's late model imac my images were tac sharp but on my imac they look quite soft and still have less light.
There is also still some difference in terms of color settings. My camera's colors have a brighter pinkish tone and on the camera store's imac and mine the tone is yellowish orange.
I will try DPReview and Nikoncafe. My first step is to reset my cameras to factory defaults and then upload and compare.
Thank you both for your help

  • I can not perform software updates or download any programs. They appear in the download box as images that are not recognized. How can I fix this?

I can not perform software updates or download any programs. They appear in the download box as images that are "not recognized". I thought maybe my antivirus software was setting up a firewall, but I have disabled it, so that's not the case. Any suggestions as to  how I can fix this?

If the downloads are gone, it's possible that Windows is removing the downloads based on security policies set in IE. I realize that sounds strange, but it's related to Firefox's feature of submitting downloads to your virus scanner and marking them as having come from the internet.
To test this theory, you could try disabling the scan feature. I assume you have good "real time" antivirus protection which checks every file saved to your hard drive. (If not, you really should get that, and you can use Microsoft's free [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials Microsoft Security Essentials] for now until you have time to review all the available choices.)
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''scan''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click '''browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone''' to toggle its value.
Firefox now should ignore Windows' download security. Does it change how Windows handles the file?

  • Please help!! "Can't open the illustration. This artwork contains a very large image that can not...

Hi all, I am subscribing Illustrator CS6 16.0.0 and using it on Windows 7.
Few days ago I was working with one file, I saved it successfully and now when I'm trying to open it an error message occures "Can't open the illustration. This artwork contains a very large image that can not be read on this version of AI. Please try with 64-bit version." and ALMOST ALL of the objects (vector) are missing as if they were deleted!
It's kind of strange since I created the file with the same program and everything was working properly before.
Please Please advice further steps for recovering my file.

Thank you so much! the file is recovered (as well as my emotional state )
The finding of the day - apparently I have two versions of AI in my PC!

You should get your keyboard checked as it's repeating  on a lot of keys and makes you look silly.
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • How to change the default BC image that shows in the address bar?

Does anyone know how to change the default BC image that shows in the address bar? I want to swap it out so the client logo shows next to their URL.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
If you are trying to change the favicon for your site,
You can do it from Site Manager-> Page template -> Default Template
Look for the code   <link type="image/x-icon" href="/Path for your image" rel="icon" />, and Click save.
Now where you will use this template, it will display your favicon for that webpage instead of BC favicon. You can define it on Page directly if you are not going to use template.
Please let me know if you have any doubt.

How can I display images that are not included in any collection (some filter or smart collection)? A smart collection with parameters "Collection - contains - empty field" does not work. Lightroom 5.

Thank you! Good idea! I ordered letters of the alphabet (space separated), and it works.

  • How do you edit the template image that appears at the top only in portrait mode?

I am using a customized version of the iBooks Author template which has the space image. I have replaced the images for the book cover, chapter and section. But I noticed that when you rotate the ipad to view the entire TOC, the original space image is still there. How can I edit the template image that appears at the top of the Table of Contents only when you rotate the ipad in portrait view?

I just tried w/that template - switched to Portrait mode...tapped once to select that image....cut - gone. Switched to Landscape...not there. Back to portrait...still gone.
    What process did you use?
Can you repeat your issue with a fresh book?

If you have an image that you want to crop for insertion in a Pages document, you can use a program like GIMP to edit the image.

When we upload images they ALWAYS display inline EVEN if we choose "Link That Displays Item In Full Browser Window" or "Link That Displays Item In New Browser Window".
For some reason these settings are ignored.
Now i realize that i could upload it as a type:FILE which i'm sure will be the solution offered. But that's not the point as i'd prefer to use the type:IMAGE that Oracle makes available. Not only that, i need to create a new item type based on the Image type.
Am i doing something wrong here? Do i have to triple-click or quadruple-click to enable these settings? :-) Or are they just presented to tease us? Or,..is it a bug?

    Chris -
Check the properties for the region the image items are shown in. On the Attribute/Style tab make sure the Displayed Attributes area does not have "image" in it anywhere. I.e. if you want the display name, ensure only "display Name Link" is there and not "Display Name and Image Link" which is the default.
Whatever attributes are listed here will show if they exist for the item type ... and let's face it - an image item definitely has an image attribute :)
    Hope this helps,
    Candace

  • Weird photos (gifs. jpg.) appearing in images that are not mine

When I look in images on my desktop mac there are weird gifs and jpgs that are not mine. Where did they come from and how do I get rid of them?

They may belong to the system, or to applications. The "All Images" search shows you images all across your hard drive, not just in your personal pictures folder. When you scroll down and click on an image in that search list, the status bar at the bottom of the window will tell you the path for that image. That will tell you what application it belongs to. Most of the time, you don't want to delete images that belong to the system or apps, since it can prevent things from working correctly.

    Your code works for me.
    If pVal.FormType = 150 Then
        If pVal.ItemUID = "59" And pVal.EventType = et_CLICK Then
            If Not pVal.BeforeAction Then
                Dim oMatrix As SAPbouiCOM.Matrix
                Set oMatrix = objSendingForm.Items("28").Specific
                Dim oItem As SAPbouiCOM.EditText
            '    objSendingForm.Freeze True
Dim lRow As Long, sWhsCode As String
                For lRow = 1 To oMatrix.RowCount
                  Set oItem = oMatrix.Columns("1").Cells.item(lRow).Specific
                  sWhsCode = oItem.String
                  Set oItem = Nothing
                  If sWhsCode <> "" Then
                    If oMatrix.Columns("U_SLGtest").Editable Then
                      Set oItem = oMatrix.Columns("U_SLGtest").Cells.item(lRow).Specific
If Not oItem Is Nothing Then oItem.String = "test" & lRow
                      Set oItem = Nothing
                    End If
                  End If
                Next lRow
            '    objSendingForm.Freeze False
            '    objSendingForm.Update
                Set oMatrix = Nothing
            End If
        End If
    End If

At which time do you try to execute it? You see I wrapped your code in a way to be executed when I click on item "59" (it's the label named with caption "Einst.preis") for testing purposes.
Maybe the error is there somewhere...

  • False returns - search brings back images that are not tagged

If I search on, for example, "Bag", I get all the images that I have tagged with "Bag", but then get a whole load more that do not have that word in their keywords (not even as part of another word) - where is the search engine finding the word "Bag"? I have had this with some other words too... Any ideas?

The search has many options, some loose some tight. Seems like if you have "contains" and "all criteria met" it should exclude all images that are not tagged "bag". If you have "any criteria met" then you could get other files, but still seems like "bag" would have to be in there someplace.
