Zsh will not use UTF-8 but uses C [solved]

I have a new install and am using zsh-shell-config and zsh from the official repos. I have my locale set and it has been generated, but I see strange characters and cannot figure out why. en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8 is the only thing uncommented in /etc/locale.gen.
If I type
% echo $LANG
C
the shell says C and not UTF-8 which causes the funny characters to be displayed.
% prompt -p
How can I fix this?

That's your problem. Are you use that you defined the locale and generated the locales? Post the output of: `sed -e 's/#.*$//' -e '/^$/d' /etc/locale.gen` which will show all non-commented.

Add-ons contain a range of compatible Firefox versions, and Firefox honors the listed range by disabling the add-on if you are trying to run it on an unlisted version.
I'm sure Yahoo! will update its toolbar eventually, but not every add-on maker supports beta versions of software.

Backup schedule will not use faster backup method

Hello,
I am currently using Windows Server Backup in Windows Server 2008 R2 to make a copy of our Exchange server. When I initially set the schedule it was configured to use the normal backup method, but after noticing that it was taking an exceedingly long time
I went into the Performance settings and selected the Faster backup option.
The faster method works great if I use the Backup Once option, but for some reason the scheduled backups still try to run the normal, non-incremental backup. I can't find where to change this in the schedule.
**I know that the first time you run the faster backup it needs to make the full backup. It has done this(it takes about 3 days) and every time I have run it since using the Backup Once option it has worked fine(takes about 1 hour). Once again, the issue
is that the schedule will not use the faster option and tries to use the normal backup every time.

I am backing up to a network location. When I use the Backup Once option and assign it to use a network location it is able to do the Faster backup. It doesn't make sense that the faster backup works when I do it manually but doesn't work when if it is
initiated by the schedule. They are both going over the network.

T520 will not use any DVD Device

Folks,
I was going to do a backup, when I noticed the DVD player was no longer showing under My Computer.
I when into the device manager, where it showed with a yellow X .. I tried updating the device driver, it said I already had the correct device. I did several other things - nothing worked.
I really wanted to get the backup done, so I took my portable DVD player/writer and connected it. The laptop found a device loaded OK ... but it did not show up under My Computer. I was the same issue as the internal DVD player.
Then I took a USB external Passport drive, connected to the same USB port, no issues .. It mounted the drive and I performed the backup.
My T520 will not use any DVD device ... any Ideas ?

True, somehow this area goes south now and then. Last time I used it was on an old XT system of someone. He had some techs try to fix his machine and couldn't. I had it working in half an hour altering the keys. LOL
You know there are exceptionally few KUDOS given on this forum for some reason and given the number of posts some people give or respond to. The great majority of posters just don't know or read it exists. Anyway good to see you up and running again.

I think you can get Windows 7 for around $99. Install the 64bit version as the 32bit version will not be able to use all your new computer's ram if you have more than about 3.5gb.
Back up your quick books data now before the old hard drive dies. You can copy your data over to your new installation of Windows and quick books.

Please explain what that means. What was it that you actually did? It sounds more like you created new Apple IDs or something. What process did you use to change these names? Where did you find the instructions?

My iPhone will not use the 3G network. I have to turn it off in the settings. Then my phone will connect to the E network. This is the only way I can make calls. Does anyone know why?

I am in Utah and with AT&T. I was able use 3G for about 6 months and then it just stopped. I took it to the apple store and they said it was an AT&T issue. I went to AT&T and they said it was an Apple issue. I had the SIM card replaced ands that still didn't work. It wasn't until I turn off the 3G that I was able to make calls again. Now I'm just on the E permanently.

My HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP will not copy or scan but does print. It does not matter if I use the ADF or the glass. When copying or scanning I get a completey black page. The light bar does move from one end of the printer glass to the other. There are no connectivity issues as the printing function and the e-print function work fine.

I understand that when you try to scan or copy, you are getting a black page. I can help you with this.
Please keep the scanner lid open and then press the copy button.
Check if the scanner bulb glows.
Check if the scanner moves freely across the glass.
If it does not try connecting the printer directly to the wall jack and try again.
Update the printer's firmware if the bulb glows and scanner moves freely. HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer Drivers.

HP 7280 all-in-one says ink cartridges are empty and will not print from PC, but it copies fine.

Replaced 2 ink cartridges in hp 7280 but still says both cartridges are empty and will not print from PC, but it will copy fine. When I try to print I get a error box that says "Ink cartridges empty - replace black and yellow ink cartridges to continue." They are brand new - just bought them - expiration date Sep 2015. Have tried rebooting and disconnecting and reconnecting everything. Same error, but it still will do color copies fine - all cartridges are working. Help?!

I understand you have a Photosmart C7280 that you are unable to print to from your computer. I'm sorry to hear about this, but I will certainly do my best to assist you in resolving this issue.
Before I can offer any suggestions I do need to know which version of Windows or Mac that you're using and how the printer is connected (wireless or USB).
