Ztables impact on server performance

Hi All,
My question is what is the effect of ztables on server performance?

Hi Amit,

could you rephrase your question, please?
The number or size of your z tables does not impact server performance as long as you
don't run SQL odr DML against them... It's the SQL and DML that impacts the (database)
server performance, not the tables...

  • Will installing language packs impact server performance

Will Installing a language pack has HIT on Server Performance ?
I have servers in Japanese. But my support team is only English Capable.
Can I install English Language Pack on the server ? and Set Group policy for My support team or use Loopback processing specific to each server ?
    Please advice
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    >>Can I install English Language Pack on the server ?
How many servers do we have?
We can add other language packs on our servers. We can use the following command to add a language pack to the operating system.
    Dism /online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\test\LangPacks\lp.cab
Regarding how to add a language pack, the following thread
can be referred to for more information.

If we want to use Group Policy to deploy the language pack, we need to get the .msi file of the package.
    >>and Set Group policy for My support team or use Loopback processing specific to each server ?
What do you mean by this?
If it means that we want to make users use specific language when they log onto the servers, we can try doing this by editing the following policy:
    User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Regional and Language Options
    Enable
Restricts the UI languages Windows should use for the selected user and choose the language we want
Regarding this point, the following thread can be referred to as reference.

  • Mini server performance

I'm assisting a small workgroup using a 2012 2 core/8gb Mini running Yosemite and Server 4 (file sharing, mail and web) and it seems to be struggling. I'm fairly sure it began after they started using the mail server and transferred several years' worth of messages to it. I'm going to try the obvious thing of moving the data on to an SSD as it's currently on a 7200rpm SATA drive, but I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts about the performance of Minis as servers generally? I've always had doubts about their suitability. How would they compare performance-wise with a mid-range NAS box (which I don't have experience of)?
    thanks

More memory will improve performance, so expand to 16GB will make the server run a lot better.
Also an SSD will make the server fast enough for this small workgroup.
Do you have any huge processes running (activity viewer, select all processes if needed and check) continuously? Even some small processes can make the server feel sluggish, it's only a dual core so it doesn't have a lot of processing power to spare.
Also splitting maildata from the main drive where OSX runs on, will make it more responsive.
Al those tasks need to be handled by one drive and one drive only, so mailtraffic, connections, OpenDirectory, filesharing perhaps, caches, updates, changes in files will impact the overall performance.
You're on the right track with the SSD, but perhaps an external RAID5 drive is a good option as well.
    Goodluck

  • Bea Weblogic Server performance question.

    Hello,
Im wondering if there are big performance difference between Bea Weblogic Server
    versions.
I run BWS 5.1 and find it great, I ve tested the application on 6.0 and it seems
to run as good as 5.1, I ve tested with 6.1 and it works fine too.
And now is my question... is it big difference between WLS from 5.1, 6.0, 6.1,
    7.0, 8.0, 8.1 ???
I dont need any "super-hyper" features just run a simple EJB (30-40 EJBs) application.
If there are big performance difference then there is a good reason to update
to the latest WLS. (Do you have any benchmark urls for this issue?)
Do I need to modify the EJBs if I want to upgrade from 5.1 to 8.1 ??
When I upgraded from 5.1 to 6.1 there was a little changes I ve to make in the
    xml files.
    Thanks for all your help!

As new versions release, there is differences in performance. One
significant point to note is the JVM versions that are supported which
significantly impact the application server performance. The new WLS 8.1 on
the newest released 1.4.2 JVM is damn good. The 1.4.1_0x JVMs have been
dramatically slower in tests that I've done. So even incremental releases
    will make an impact.
In newer releases, code matures also. I also believe in 7.x they gave the
capability of clustering JVM more effectively.
    anyway... good luck.

  • Exchange 2013 CU7 server performance/outage issues.

    Hi Forum,
We are constantly faced with incidents from users that the connections are lost with the exchange server. As a result, we hired a consultant to install an new Exchange 2013 environment based on the Microsoft, VM-Ware and NetApp best practices.
We are still having problems with performance issues. From the client prospective, the performance has not changed, weekly hangs are still happening and I’m at my wits end.
    This is our configuration:
2 Windows Server 2012 R2 CAS and DB
    VM with 4 vCpu, 16GB, 1 Vmxnet3, IPv6 disabled (the Microsoft way)
    VM Ware 5.1 U1
    Cluster without AAP
DB1 active on Server 1 (Datacenter 1 with 3 host cluster)
DB2 active on Server 2 (Datacenter 2 with 3 host cluster)
    Veeam 8 Backup (Move-ActiveMailboxDatabase DB2 -ActivateOnServer Server1 , backup server 2 then Move-ActiveMailboxDatabase back to
     Server2.
Exchange is in Online-Mode due to Citrix XD VDI clients.
    1300 Mailboxes and 750 users.
NetApp with SATA disks. (1.5TB E: Vol for DB1/1.5TB F: Vol for DB2)
    No archiving
    Unlimited mailbox sizes.
    The problems are:
    If we migrate a non-Exchange VM in the same cluster or to\from the same host, this results in a 30 second to 5 min Outlook outage;
    If we make both DB’s active on mail server 1 and reboot server 2, this results in a 30 second to 5 min Outlook outage;
    If we make both DB’s active on mail server 1 and do a Veeam backup of server 2, sometimes one of the DB’s go back to server 1, on its own;
    While monitoring we see that the w3wp.exe and the Microsoft.Exchange.Store.worker.exe are consuming most of the cpu and memory;
What can I do to solve the outages?

    Hi Simon,<o:p></o:p>
Apparently we are using basic authentication which result in a FailingCode=401 as seen in the Event Log under Active Monitoring --> Probe Results from ECP and others. This
became apparent after reading this blog:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/ehlro/archive/2014/02/20/exchange-2013-managed-availability-healthset-troubleshooting.aspx<o:p></o:p>
We are now overriding some of the monitors which require Forms Based Authentication.<o:p></o:p>
Regarding the other 2 issues we have changed the licensing model for Veeam 8 to allow full throughput which will reduce the backup time and add compression.
The KEMP support team helped us by deselecting Use HTTP/1.1 under View/Modify Services --> ECP –> Modify --> Real Servers. This
now only flags a service (ECP or ActiveSync or OWA) as being down instead of an etire server should one component fail.<o:p></o:p>
I am satisfied but still not happy with the steps required to troubleshoot an Unhealthy Health Sets:<o:p></o:p>
Invoke-MonitoringProbe always returns with: WARNING: Could not find assembly or object type associated with monitor identity '<Healthe Set >\< Probe >'. Please ensure
that the given monitor identity exists on the server.
This makes it very difficult to troubleshoot
    Unhealthy Health Sets.

how can i copy ztable from development server to ides server?

    Hello Suresh
The simplest way is to use a transport request.
Another possibility is to check for SAPLINK plugins which allow to download table definitions (including data elements and domains) into a flat file. Upload on IDES again via [SAPLINK|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/SAPlink].

  • BI Server performance too slow

    Hi experts,
I am facing an issue, my OBIEE sits on a Unix Platform. And many time the server performance is too slow, when I check the processes, Java under Orabi user is using more than 50% of the CPU utilization. I need to find the root cause behind it, as it is the production system and is affecting many users.
    Thanks in advance.
    MT

    Thanks Prassu,
Yes the Server is performing too much calculations, but they are required as need to cache reports at daily level also,
I have an observation that the MAX_CACHE_ENTRY_SIZE [MAX_CACHE_ENTRY_SIZE = 1 MB;] parameter is set only for 1 MB, I can understand that if any query fetching more data than 1 MB will not be cached. But is there any chance that this will affect the server as well.
    Thanks

  • High volume of batches with Split valuation - impact on system performance

    Hi!
I have a client that is intending to load a new material type from their legacy system which will be automatically batch managed with split valuation.  So, Valuation category will be 'x' and the valuation type will also be the batch number as automatically created on GR.
The concern of the client is the impact on system performance.  Having up to 80,000 batches per material master record (so, 80,000 valuation types will be mainatined with a unique price in the Accounting 1 tab of the MMR) and overall around 1 million batches a year.  I'm not aware of any system performance issues around this myself but there seems to be anecdotal evidence that SAP has advised against using this functionality with high volumes of batches.
Could you please let me know of any potential problems I might encounter, having 1 million batches with split valuation may cause?  Logically, this would increase to tens of millions of batches over time until archived off via SARA.
    Many thanks!
    Anthony

I currently have about 1.5 million batches with split valuation in my system (but it is not the X split), and we archive yearly.
having many batches for one material ( lets say 1000) causes dramatic performace issues during automatic batch determination.
it took about 5 minutes until a batch was returned into a delivery. if the user then wants a different batch and has to carry out batch determination again, then he just works for 10 to 15 minutes on one delivery.
This is mainly caused by the storage location segment of the batches. if one batch gets movedd within a plant thru 3 different locations, then the batch has 3 records in table MCHB. But SAP has a report to reorganize the MCHB table that have zero stock.
The X split has more effect, it is not only the batch table that makes issues in this case. With the x-split SAP adds an MBEW record (material master valuation view) for each new batch.
However, if the design is made to get a certain functionality (here valution at batch level),   then you have to get a proper hardware in place that can give you the performance that is needed.

Client has a NetWare 6.5 server SP 7 or last one put out. Lately the server performance would drop to almost half the speed it was running after about 3 hrs of up time, I cannot see anything that point to any module or hardware that is causing this.
The PRB are where they are suppose to be.
    The Dirty Cache is 0%
The only thing I can see is in the Busiest thread on the Kernel screen there is a Server [numbered anywhere from 01 to 20] that shows up with some fairly large numbers for memory usage. What i'm trying to do is to nail this down to what the actual application/module is.
On other screens there are supended semaphore. Can anyone explain this to me?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

when installed, it generates statistics every 10 minutes.
goto /var/log/sa, you'll see files called 'sa', followed by the day number of the month.
you can extract the performance data in these files using 'sar -f <safile>', and choose the switch for the statistics you want to see.
