ZTE Salute on $50 unlimited prepaid plan?

Hello, can the ZTE Salute be used for the $50 unlimited prepaid plan, and how old do you have to be to activate a prepaid plan? I have a cousin who wants a prepaid plan from Verizon.

Yes, the ZTE Salute is a basic phone and can be used on the $50 unlimited monthly pre-paid plan.
To activate a phone or open an account, you need to be 18 and legally able to sign the agreement -

  • When will the Cosmos 2 be available on the 50$ unlimited prepaid plan?

I had my cosmos 2 activated on the daily prepaid plan until today when i moved my service to a flip phone to give to my dad. When i went to the store to activate the cosmos 2 on the 50$ plan, sadly they told me that the cosmos 2 cannot be used on the 50$ unlimited. Why is this the case? And when should it be available for the better prepaid plan? Until then ill be using a crappily designed intensity 2...

        Good afternoon reginapaugh!
I'm sorry the Extravert stopped working for you. Lets get that Gusto 2 activated now! What is happening when you try to activate the phone? The Gusto 2 is compatible with our unlimited prepaid plan. If you are still having trouble getting it working, please reach out to our speciality prepay team at 888-294-6804. Keep me posted!

  • Can i still use pay as you go plan on a smartphone prepaid plan?

can i still use pay as you go plan on a smartphone prepaid plan?

Yes you can. However, 4G smartphones cannot be activated on prepaid. 3G devices have 3 different available plans. Verizon has an exclusive plan with Walmart which consists of unlimited talk and text with a 1GB for $50. The other 2 plans are unlimited talk and text with 2GB for $60 or 4GB for $70

  • IPhone on Prepaid plan pointless account balance messages

We've been discussing this issue on the ATT forums, but I feel that the only way to get it addressed it by Apple.
Currently if you are on the prepaid plan you receive account balance notices after every transaction (Phone call, Mail Check, Web Browsing).
Since the iPhone has an unlimited data plan you account balance doesn't change any time you access the edge network. Unfortunately ATT still sends you a message notifying you your account balance has not changed.
At first this isn't a big issue. Dismiss the message (Which you have to do before you can access ANYTHING on your phone) and continue on. The problem is if you have your phone checking for email (which is one of the point of having a phone like the iPhone), you'll receive a message every time your phone hits the network.
These messages can pile up and this morning I had to clear 15+ messages before I could use my phone. Talk about a terrible user experience.
Also if a balance message is present while a call comes in the screen doesn't respond. You first have to lock the phone by hitting the sleep/wake button, then unlock it again hitting the same button. It took me a while to figure out what was going on with that situation.
At the bottom of the page there is a link to the ATT support thread.
Please don't reply with ... We'll just get a contract and the messages will stop. I don't want to be on a contract plan. I enjoy the prepaid plan. It works for me.
So here is what I am looking for.
    1) Can the messages be stopped on the iPhone side
    2) If not, could Apple add a "Dismiss All" option. That would (for me at least) be an acceptable solution.
    3) Why do the messages lock the screen when there is an incoming call?
Thanks for all your help. At the least I am hoping this will make Apple aware of the problems and get them addressed

There are a few points which I think need to be aired on this issue: that pre-paid is a perfectly viable option for the iPhone, that AT&T will do nothing to solve this issue, and that Apple, alone, can and should.
If pre-paid is an option both AT&T and, for less understandable reasons, Apple want to discourage, then may God help all of us pre-paid consumers. However, Apple should be interested in selling iPhones, and the deal to receive money from AT&T from subscribers is a problem, because is lessens Apple's motivation to tolerate iPhones being used as pre-paid phones, unlocked, you name it.
That said, pre-paid is a great option for those who use very few minutes (like me), who may be well-to-do foreigners only staying in America for a limited time, or who are uncertain if AT&T is a viable carrier. Tolerating it also projects a sense of respect for the consumer that Apple's target market would appreciate. I know I do.
AT&T, though, receives less of a commitment from consumers on pre-paid, and thereby less expected money, so they will do everything to fight it.
Apple, however, can easily modify their software to politely receive these notifications from AT&T, and then only inform the user if they choose to be so informed of the account balance in the iPhone's settings, or, even better, go into a spread-sheet like "Balance history" tab to explicitly view this information.
This is what Apple can do. It may take them a couple of man-hours to roll this into the next iPhone software update, but Apple: consider this worth it in light of being able to portray yourself as being on the consumer's side in the consumer-carrier tug-of-war that this, on however small a scale, has become.

  • Used/remaining minutes on $35 prepaid plan

    Phone: LG Revere
This phone can display balance information as:
    "Balance: $104.10"  (remaining balance)
"PMT Date: 6/15/14" (date that funds expire)
This worked well on my old plan since text msgs cost 10 cents & calls were 30 cents or 15 cents/min.  This week I switched to the $35 prepaid plan giving me 500 anytime minutes with unlimited text & 500 MB of data for 30 days.
    1. My online account page shows my balance is $69.10 which accounts for the $35 payment for the first 30 days of the plan but the Revere's balance display still shows the $104.10 amount.   Why isn't the phone's display accurately updated?  Following a Customer Service suggestion, I did the *228 & pressed 1 to reprogram the phone.  It made no difference.
    2.  Is there an easy way to check the minutes remaining without calling Customer Service?  #MIN only tells me that my balance is $69.10 (and sends me a text with that info) but doesn't tell me that I have 434 minutes remaining.  The Customer Service rep told me that, but I couldn't find this total the VZW website.  The account usage page lists every call, text, etc. but unless I manually add up the duration of each call, I can't find out how many of those 500 minutes have been used this month.  Is this information somewhere else?

I'm not sure I understand.... I thought that "Anytime Minutes" Were for non-Verizon calls, whether to other carriers' mobile phones or landlines, 24/7.  If they are designated as "unlimited," then you do not pay a per-minute fee for them -- instead they are all included in the $50 monthly fee... Correct?
Now here's a possible "fly in the ointment"... What about "roaming" calls on this plan?  Is there such a thing; and if so, are they included, too, at no extra charge?  Also is "roaming" determined by from where the call *originates* (your own, i.e., the caller's location); or if the destination is out of the prepaid Verizon wireless coverage area? or both/either?  This has always confused me.
One time about a year or so ago, my sister and I were talking (we both had VZ prepaid wireless phones on the "Core" plan), as we customarily tended to do; and after a few minutes we got mysteriously cut off. When I tried to call her back, I heard a message that indicated she was out of wireless minutes.  This confused us, as although we knew her account was low (I think she had $2 left at the time), still it should have charged her the 99¢ daily access fee and no more.
So we called Verizon customer service (with my "patching her in" via landline, lol) and asked them what exactly she got charged for. The CSR said that we'd  been on "roaming," that there had been some upgrades to the towers in the area and that we would need to call *228 to update our phones' roaming capabilities.  That was the first we'd ever heard of such an option!  It especially surprised me, since I ~thought~ I'd configured my phone to disable roaming except for emergency 911 calls; as I didn't wish it to activate automatically (and unnoticed!), as it seemed to do in our case.  I'd much rather have the call dropped than incur 20¢/min. charges.
Fortunately the CSR was very nice and credited both our accounts; and with the *228 update (which Verizon recommends you access about once a month) we did not experience the problem again.

  • Im looking for a cheep prepaid plan.

I use to have a family Verizon plan but can't afford it now so Im looking at the prepaid ones. I only need one phone and I really only use texting ALOT so a unlimited plan would be nice. I don't need web access but I would defiantly use it. And I can't pay more then $20-25 a month.so I guess I just need help finding the right plan. any suggestions will help. and! I already have a Verizon inactive phone can I buy minutes/a plan for the old phone?

As long as the old phone you have is a feathure phone and not a Smart Phone is should be  able to be used as a prepaid call customer service just to double check 1-888-294-6804.  You can get an unlimited texting plan for $20.00 that would cover verizon and other service providers there is a $10.00 text plan for verizon to verizon unlimited texting. If you you think at some point you would want to use the cell for voice you can buy the $30.00 plan  which is good cor 90 days and use the 25 cents per minute plan, you would have to add $20.00 text package every month. They do have just text packages which customer service can explain to you when you call to verify that that your old cell will work with the new prepaid plan. You will have to pay $25 or $35 to reactive the old phone.

  • [Very Urgent] Prepaid plan on iphone - will apps, web, data work normally?

Hi, I am keen on getting a prepaid plan.
I am very frustrated with ATT and T-Mobile because they need me to unlock my iphone in order to use web and data access. If I don't, I can only use calls and text on the iphone. If I get an iphone 5, get it unlocked and place a prepaid SIM card into it, will all the apps work normally? Can I buy the ATT prepaid plan? If not, which carrier should I get?
Please reply soon as I need to get a new line within a day or two. Thank you so much!

Hi Meg, thank you so much! I saw on the Virgin Mobile website that they have a $35 unlimited monthly plan. They also have a cheaper $20 plan. They look quite interesting.
Is there anything I should watch out for with regards to Virgin Mobile?

  • Upgrading prepaid plan

i upgraded to an unlimited plan for my prepaid plan it only gave me the 2gb and unlimited call and text ($60prepaid). and i tried to change the plane but said i would lose all the stuff i already put on the phone. how do i fix this for  next month so i do get the full unlimited package on my prepaid phone? the problem i have is that i only get 2 options in my verizon which is the 60 and 70 dollar one and not the 80, the one that i need.

Darkonieme, I'll be happy to explain your options. We no longer offer an unlimited data plan. The plans shown in My Verizon are the available options that you have.

  • Help with buying contract-free iPhone 5S with T-MOBILE $30.00 prepaid plan

Ok, I just want to clarfiy
    If I purchase a T-MOBILE contract-free iPhone 5S from Apple here http://store.apple.com/us/buy-iphone/iphone5s
will I be able to get the T-MOBILE plan listed here with the Nano sim I receive from my iPHONE 5S from Apple http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans
"$30 per month—Unlimited web and text with 100 minutes talk
100 minutes talk | Unlimited text | First 5 GB at up to 4G speeds
This plan is only available for devices purchased from
Wal-Mart or devices activated on T-Mobile.com"
or will I have to get a nano sim here http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/sim-card#close-cart
and then activate online on tmobile.com to get the prepaid plan for $30.00?

No, the SIM card included with the T-Mobile phone on the Apple site does not allow you to activate for the $30 prepaid, as there is no "activation code" provided with the phone and you need a code for prepaid activation on the T-Mobile site. As you know T-Mobile store will not help you with this plan.
I just did this. (1)  I went on Apple store site and purchased an iPhone 5c selecting the T-Mobile "unlocked and contract-free SIM-Free" option.
    (2) You also need to go on T-Mobile and buy the (so called) "activation kit"  http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/sim-card ; select the "Nano Sim Card"  "Phone" then "Add to cart". This is currently free, so I got 2, in case. It took about 3 business days to receive the package via UPS.
The package has instructions, but does not mention the $30 option (it is not widely advertised in T-Mobile as you know). However, no problem, it will become available during activation.
    (3) Now replace the SIM card that you received from Apple with the SIM card you received from T-Mobile.
    (4) Before you start the activation process, write down clearly (and double check)  the "activation code" found in the T-mobile activation kit, the "SIM card serial number" found in the kit as well and the "Phone serial number (IMEI)" found on the iPhone box you received from Apple.
    (5) Go to T-Mobile "Activate your new phone"  https://www.t-mobile.com/shop/plans/ActivateCodes.aspx  and enter those 3 numbers, very carefully. (I have heard any mistake may stop the process and you need a new SIM card to restart).
In the next screen, you will pick the plan (all prepaid plans are showing, including the $30 100 min / unlimited text / web, but beware as there is another $30 for 1500 min, no web) and then a phone number (or transfer your phone number) - when you click "next" you actually receive a text message on the phone right away! In the next screen you enter your payment information (debit, credit or purchased prepaid card), then you are done.
    (6) I actually went back to my-t-mobile.com to create a login - pw so I can change my payment method later and see the data and minutes used.
No need to adjust any APN settings. Got LTE in my area and internet speed clocks at an amazing 32.77 Mbps Download. ENJOY!

  • Who has the Unlimited Data Plan and has Been Speed Capped when You went over 5Gig?

Just checking to see how many others have been speed capped to 200Kb on the unlimited data plan when they went over 5Gig in a billing cycle? (you can get a one time reprieve if you call them at 1-888-483-7200)
Did they ask you to change your plan to 10Gig and Update your Equipment and sign a new two year agreement?
Did you know that Sprint is offering unlimited Data on their 4G network and that Verizon is trying to lock down customers that are not on 2 year contracts? (Gives them time to catch up with the competition) Marcus in Fraud and Investigation told me (when I told him that Sprint was offering Unlimited Data)  "...That is a better option..."
I am now looking into other options along with allot of the rest of you.

I was instructed to call that Fraud Department number and was treated like I had broken some kind of law instead of going over the 5 Gig fine print limit on my unlimited grandfathered in account. They would not even consider giving me a one time do over for being a MiFi newbie. I am hearing class action suit rumblings out there!!

  • How long does it really take to get my unlimited data plan back?

So Wednesday morning I go into a local Verizon owned-and-operated store to buy a Galaxy S5 on installment plan, like I did for my GS4 a year ago. Get talked into an Edge phone plan and the More plan, and they get that unlimited data plan off my line as fast as possible and then find that I can't get Edge for another 3 weeks. So we revert the changes (in theory), less than half an hour after the original change.
So I'm just standing there reading twitter and waiting for them to fix the situation and get me back to where I was when I walked in. I was actually willing to go ahead and buy a GS5 on installment plan (as I'd wanted to when I came in), but they *really* did not want me to do that. They got the voice plan back, and put me on a 2GB plan (which is 1/3 of my average usage), telling me I'd be back on my unlimited plan with hotspot service "by the end of the business week."
Today as I'm checking at the end of the business week, no sign of my data plan or hotspot service. The folks on the social media team tell me that my service might be crippled for another 10 days while an offline team tries to fix what the folks in the store broke.
Am I really out of luck for two weeks? I got a GS5 on T-Mobile with 5GB of data, which will get me by... TMO didn't seem offended that I wanted a GS5. But if I have to "be careful" with my data (as the store manager put it) on Verizon for two weeks, I may as well forward the phone and power it off.
At least I know never to set foot in this particular Verizon store again... last year they wouldn't sell me a GS4 "in case someone came in and wanted to upgrade" so I went to another nearby location. If my plans get unbroken, I'll either go to that other location or check eBay for my GS5.

Think of this and be amazed. If Verizon is trying its best to get customers off unlimited data by any means possible, and quite frankly tell you once you purchase any device on subsidy or the Edge program you lose unlimited. Now the Worry Free Guarantee states within 14 days if you change your mind you can pay a $35 restocking fee, and go back to your old plan.
However they no longer offer unlimited data so they give you this line of it has to be set back manually (inactive price request) and then it gets denied. Then they say it has to be submitted again for approval and then it gets denied. So why have a worry free guarantee?
And think to yourself, a plan they can remove in minutes takes them weeks to give back? They don't give it back. Search the forum.
    Good Luck

  • What is the reason contract phones cannot be used on a prepaid plan?

I originally posted this question in the Basic Phones forum, but I think that may have been the wrong place to ask this.
I am interested in activating a phone on the $50 basic phone prepaid plan, but the phone I tried to activate would not work.  It was the Casio Ravine 2 C781.
I already know that contract phones will not work on the prepaid plan.  I also have already spoken with two customer service reps, and they were helpful, but they could not answer my questions.
What is the actual reason that basic feature contract phones will not work on the prepaid basic plan?  Is it the PTT feature?
The Ravine 2 was new with a clean ESN, and it's just a basic phone.  I don't blame anyone except myself, but I would like to avoid this in the future. btw, I gave the Ravine to my mom and dad who are on a contract plan, and it is working great.
One of the reps I spoke with said that this may change in the near future, and that phones like the Ravine 2 may work on the prepaid plan soon.  Does anyone know if this is true?
To make things more confusing, I just read an older post that states if a contract phone like the Ravine is activated for at least 6 months, it then can be activated on a prepaid plan.  Is there any truth to this?
Finally, I understand that there are some basic flip phones available that I can purchase like the Revere 2 and the Gusto 2, but I prefer the quality of the Ravine 2.  I need the rugged phone capability due to my work environment.
    Thanks for your time.
    Jim
