Folks,
i have a client that have One primary site and 20 Secondary sites and other branches,
so i am trying to implement ZTI solution to cover all these sites,
so what is the implementation process that will cover all these sites?

PXE is a separate issue that really is unrelated to secondary sites.
Yes, clients must be able to locate a PXE server if you are using PXE -- OSD does not require PXE though. The best method for PXE server location is IPHelpers though and you should always use and prefer these over DHCP scope for multiple reasons.

Environment: SCCM 2012 R2 on a Windows 2012 R2 primary site server. Got 6 working secondary sites. Trying to add another, the first one on a Windows 2012 R2, others are on 2012 and 2008 R2.

Things I've tried:
Different install folders
Using source files from the secondary site computer - got some error that the versions didn't match with the primary, even though I generated the files from the primary site.
Pre-installing SQL 2008 R2 SP2 and SQL 2012 R2 SP1
- With all SQL ports manually configured to 1433 - no errors on prereqs checks other than the warning about configuring minimum memory
Verified the computer account has full rights to System Management in Active Directory
Removing all other SQL databases
Restarted the servers a million times.
Forgetting some stuff I tried I think, but any ideas would be greatly appreciated.Thanks for the suggestion, the command runs fine in 2012 R2 as well, but where do I put the XXX.CT5 file? I did as suggested and put it in Install dir\inboxes\hman.box\ on the secondary site server but this didnt change the errors I got when retrying the
install.
I've also created two new servers in the site, a plain as day 2012 R2 server and a plain as day 2008 R2 SP1 server (with the pre-req roles and features of course) and created new sites in SCCM and tried to setup on these new servers, I got the exact same
problems. -
SCCM 2012 Secondary site some client's are scan hardware inventory for more than 30 days
Hi,
In our SCCM 2012 environment we have secondary site configured which connected with 8500 computers, on those 5500 machines scanning hardware inventory and send latest inventory details to Secondary Site Management Point, but remaing 3000 machines are not
sending latest hardware inventory for more than 30 days. I verified clients log found it is generating report on inventory agent.log however it is not available with secondary site Management Point.
Are anyone experienced this issue, please share your thought how to fix this issue.

MadhanYes i did verify but the client isn't listed on both log files. Also i couldn't open IIS log because of it size has more than 800MB. currently this site has connected with 8500 machines do you think these many clients are supported by secondary site server.
If you can't open the IIS log then how do you know that the Client's IP is not listed within them?
5000 is the max for a secondary site. You will need to secondary sites at this location.

We have 3 smaller regional locations and 1 regional location that is larger that are all forests roots with child domains under them and all have their own SCCM environments. We will be collapsing the 3 smaller forest’s workstations and users into larger
forest and onto the larger forest’s SCCM 2012 environment. My question has to do with secondary site servers. From what I read, a secondary site server is used mainly to manage network bandwidth between the remote site and the SCCM Site
Server. We have 100MB Metro E connections to these sites. The sites have 1900, 1700, and 900 clients respectively. We do not have an issue with building the secondaries, I am more curious on how much bandwidth would be affected by not having one there and
just putting a distribution point at them. I do remember reading that 500 clients is the recommended amount for a SSS.If you have not already done so, check out this:

I am not sure about the question of bandwidth, but given the numbers of clients and the connection info you provided, I would consider doing just DPs at the remote regional sites.

Help with removing unavailable secondary site
I created a SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 secondary site and remove it also.
Now my primary server eventlog is full with messages like: (about 10 each
The activated proc '[dbo].[spRCMActivation]' running on queue 'CM_PRI.dbo.ConfigMgrRCMQueue' output the following: 'ERROR Sending SSB Message from: ConfigMgrRCM_SitePRI to ConfigMgrRCM_SiteSEC SQL Error: 50000 SQL Message: ERROR 50000, Level 16, State 1, Procedure spGetSSBDialogHandle, Line 58, Message: Route is not defined for target site with service name ConfigMgrRCM_SiteSEC.'
I found out then in SQL Management Console CM_PRI\Service Broker\Queues\dbo.ConfigMgrRCMQueue was disabled.
When enabling, it will be disabled again....what I also saw is that in the queue (select * FROM [CM_PRI].[dbo].[ConfigMgrRCMQueue]) messages are related to the secondary which is not available anymore. How do I get rid of those queued messages ?
Due to this bahaviour my other secondaries links are down now :-(
Please help, how can i solve this quick ?I uninstalled the site from the console which worked fine. Preinst /delsite SEC also tells me site is removed. However my application event log on the primary is full of errors. When investigating this I saw an entry in the SQL queue which cause this I
think. So how can I remove this entry from the ConfigMgrRCMQueue queue in SQL. Now this queue is disabled ! Which caused my links to be down to all other secondaries. -
Replace secondary site with distribution point
I have a client that would like to remove some unnecessary secondary sites and replace them with distribution points on the same hardware. Is there a built-in way of doing this from the SCCM console? What should be taken into consideration before doing
such a thing?

It's essentially an uninstall (of the Secondary site components) and an fresh install of the DP. Content and boundaries are the only real considerations; you may want to use pre-staged content to essentially
cache a local copy so that it doesn't have to be replicated across the WAN. Technically, if you leave the sccmcontentlib in place, it may be able to reuse this but that's not supported so it may or may not work.

Replacing Secondary Site server with a new oneA
I have Secondary site running on Windows 2008 R2, but the server has some issue and i need to install a new secondary server.
The location is remote and Bandwidth a concern so i do not want all the packages to go over to the new Secondary Site /DP
Since the current Secondary site server is still alive , i want to take as much as from it .
Anyone has some suggestion on how i could accomplish this.There's no built in way to do this in 2007; however, you should be able to use the preload package tool:

Move secondary site (virtual machine) from one server to another server, something to take care?
Hi guys
In our company we have a subsidiary with a simple infrastructure with a Domain Controller, some other virtual Server, Switches etc.
When we start to use the SCCM in our company, we take the decision that we want to install in this subsidiary a secondary site.
Thats why we organize a computer with good performance and installed ESXi on it. On the ESXI we create a VM with Windows Server 2012 and prepare it as secondary site.
All well and good. But now we want to setup a new infrastructor on this subsidiary with a high-performance Server. On this high performance server should also installed ESXi.
My question is, if we want to move the VM (which has installed our secondary site on it) from the computer to the server, do we need take care about something?
- IP address is going to keep the same
- No changes in Firewall
- No changes generally Network IP address
We considered, that we will shutdown the server (virtual machine) and make an export and import that virtual machine into the new server.

We try to install sccm 2012 serondary site in server 2012. It always failed.
I used the rereqchek tools to check system enviroment locally. All passed.
The primary site installed in server 2012. Both server had granted the administrator permission.

Actually the administrative permission had been granted. -
Secondary Site Install Stuck at "Pending"
I have tried installing on 3 servers with the same result. The install stays at "Pending" after passing Prerequisite checks. This is Configuration Manager 2012 R2 CU3 the site is Server 2012.

About the ERROR: Site server does not have create child permission on AD 'System Management' in ConfigMgrPrereq.log, please give the Secondary Site Server Computer Account permissions
to the System Management container in AD.
Please confirm that the server installed secondary site has met all the prerequisites.

Procedure performing a "Retry Secondary Site" Operation in SCCM 2012 R2 Secondary Server
Dear Brother,
My SCCM 2012 R2 Secondary Site Server, unfortunately crashed and required to be restored, doing this I end up performing a "Retry Secondary Site Operation.
One by one I am clearing out the errors but there are few remaining errors on the prerequisite checks:
1.[Failed]:The logon account for the SQL Server service cannot be a local user account, NT SERVICE\<sql service name> or LOCAL SERVICE. You must configure the SQL Server service to use a valid domain account, NETWORK SERVICE, or LOCAL SYSTEM.
Actions Done: SQL Related Services use Logon As Domain Account "Microsoft-Domain\BillAdmin" , but still the above message still appears in the logs.
Actions Done: None
2.[Failed]:The collation of the site database does not match the collation of the parent site's database. All sites in a hierarchy must use the same database collation.
3.[Failed]:The site server might be unable to publish to Active Directory. The computer account for the site server must have Full Control permissions to the System Management container in its Active Directory domain. You can ignore this warning if you have
manually verified these permissions. For more information about your options to configure required permissions, see

Actions Done: None, as this machine is previously a working Secondary site for 1 Year already. So I do not suspect anything from the current related configuration.
4.[Failed]: Either the user account running Configuration Manager Setup does not have sysadmin SQL Server role permissions on the SQL Server instance selected for site database installation, or the SQL Server instance could not be contacted to verify permissions.
Setup cannot continue.

How to set security group as primary site collection admin and secondary site collection admin using powershell in sharepoint online site - office 365?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to set security group as admin of primary and secondary site collection using PowerShell command in office 365.
I suggest you can use the command below to set the group to site owner, then it will have the site collection admin permission.

SCCM 2012 Clients at Secondary Site don't update and shows status as INACTIVE
I have 1 Primary site and 1 Secondary sites. I have setup Secondary site Boundaries using IP subnet. I see that the systems from secondary
site show in the console and they all have clients installed but however 60% of the system shows client activity as INACTIVE and not receiving any heartbeat DDR none of the system showing hardware inventory. I am not positive
where to look as far as logs are concerned. I think the clients aren't receiving policy like they should.
Just to give a brief idea, Secondary Site server crashed and we had to rebuild the server and re install secondary site after rebuilding all the
problem. Everything is working fine in Primary site.
Secondary site is communicating with primary site MP and DP
I have checked MPcontrol.log it shows status as OK
I am able to install client through console but yes when I check the configuration manager properties it shows CCM Notification Agent as DISSABLED
and in the Action Tab Machine and User policy are the only cycles showing.
Checked replmgr.log and rclctrl.log but it’s not showing any error
Only log file which shows error is bgdserver.log ( pasting log errors )

So not all the clients show inactive? Have you checked the logs in an inactive client? Such as ClientIDManagerStartup.log.
Have you checked Secondary Site server's computer name from SQL logins? You could try to remove this account, wait a while, recreate the same computeraccount login with sysadmin access. (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d5383c23-6b71-47cc-9fad-fda82a44a3aa/secondary-site-showing-inactive-clients?forum=configmanagerdeployment)
You could use Configuration Analyzer for System Center 2012 R2 to troubleshoot issues.

Uninstalling Secondary Site Server through SW Delivery fails
We have migrated to SCCM2012
and now need to uninstall our
SCCM 2007 Secondary Siteserver.
Since we have 300 Secondary Site Server
in the Hirarchy, the uninstall
of the software must be distributed.
We have to create a task sequence,
in which the following steps are
performed:
Put the server in the SCOM
Maintenance Mode
Stop SCCM services SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER
and SMS_EXECUTIVE
Uninstalling the Secondary Siteserver with the
Command "{install path} \setup.exe /deinstall"
Cleanup of folders and files that are left
Restarting the Server
Take server out of the SCOM
Maintenance Mode
The uninstallation works well on all Windows Server 2008 R2 Server. But not on the Windows Server 2003. There we get errors "Failed to open key Software\Microsoft\SMS\47006C006F00620061006C005C007B00350031004100300031003600420036002D0046003000440045002D0034003700350032002D0042003900370043002D003500340045003600460033003800360041003900310032007D00\SMSTS"
and "MP name must be set in an environment variable" and "Fatal error is returned in execution of the action (Uninstall Secondary Site). The system cannot find the file specified. (Error: 80070002; Source: Windows)".
After this errors, the Task Sequence Deployment aborts.
Has anybody a solution for this situation?

When removing a secondary site using the Delete Secondary Site Wizard, you must choose whether to delete or uninstall the secondary
site:
Deleting the site will delete all information about the site and its resources from the Configuration Manager site database at its
parent site, but it will leave the Configuration Manager secondary site installed on the secondary site computer. Select this option if you have already manually uninstalled the secondary site using Configuration Manager Setup at the secondary site computer.
When Configuration Manager 2007 sites are deleted, the deleted site information is only deleted from the deleted site's direct parent site. Site deletion
information is not propagated up the hierarchy to grandparent sites. In order to delete the site from the site database at sites above the deleted site's direct parent site, the hierarchy maintenance tool (Preinst.exe) must be run on every primary site above
the deleted site's parent primary site using the command Preinst /delsite. For more information about the hierarchy maintenance tool, see

Hi all,
I just want to ask whether it is supported or not when install SCCM Console on Secondary Site Server in 2012 R2? I've searched over internet but does not find a conclusion about that.
From technet SCCM Console requirement and interoperability, there is no information that restrict install console from Secondary Site Server, but this link say it is not supported:

Has anyone try this, because today i installed console from one of my secondary site server and successfully connected with the primary site. Hope that does not break anything because with the ability of RBAC in 2012 R2, i can assign the admin at branch
site permission he need to manage the clients in this secondary site.
