ZVM 60GB - is it backward compatible with USB1

Hi,
I'm considering purchasing a Zen Vision:M but I'm not sure whether to buy 30GB or 60GB.
When I've looked at the 60GB model, on some websites there have been warnings that it is only compatible with USB 2.... is this correct?
Many thanks for any help anyone can give me!

Yes it is compatible with USB .. But by now most people have USB 2.0 and the transfer speeds are amazing. . is going to take longer to upload the songs on to the mp3 player but it is compatible.

    Hello,
You are correct, Blue tooth low engergy, BTLE.(only) devices are not backward compatible with Classic bluetooth and cannot connect.
However the Apple 4S and above have Bluetooth 4.0 support.. Hardware wise it has bothClassic Bluetooth, like the 3GS, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy.  There is no good reason why your 4s cannot communicate to your Sony in-dash player using the Classic bluetooth that resides in the 4S.
I know that this does not answer the why it does not work, but it should work. Do you have to somehow re-pair the new phone up to the player?  Not  knowing the model of the Sony it is hard to investigate.
And I hate to ask but are you sure that the Bluetooth radio is on in the phone?

  • XCelsius 2008 is not backward compatible with ver 4.5

    Post Author: Joseph
CA Forum: Xcelsius and Live Office
I tried opening a project that was done with ver 4.5 but it just said that "Crystal Xcelsius is unable to load this file. This file may be corrupt or may have features that cannot be supported by this version of Crystal Xcelsius." So i guess I probably have to recreate the project in the 2008 version to take advantage of the new features available. So I imported the excel datasheet used in the old project to a new project in Xcelsius 2008 and tried recreating the objects from scratch. I had started with an accordion menu and two list boxes and then I decided to export to swf to test. However, the result was disappointing. I could only see the two list boxes but not the accordion menu. There was a message saying "Initializing..." that stayed. Does this mean I have to recreate the excel data from scratch as well?

X2008 is backward compatible with CX4.5.  But Jim is correct. There is a bug in X2008 which prevents it from opening some 4.5 models by double-clicking on the filename.  They can be opened from the File > Open menu.  This only affects opening the model.Due to the many changes between CX4.5 and X2008, the migration of old CX4.5 models is not clean.  Differences will be seen.  Most are cosmetic affecting only the look of the model.  But some tidy up, color changes and re-alignment work must be done.   There was no way to gain the benefits of X2008 and still keep CX4.5 models unchanged.Andy

  • Is OCZ Vertex Turbo 60GB 2.5" SSD compatible with my Mac Pro, or do I need

Is OCZ Vertex Turbo 60GB 2.5" SSD compatible with my Mac Pro, or do I need the Vertex Mac Edition?
I have decided to purchase a SSD to use as a boot drive in the spare optical drive bay.
There are so many brands available, and Intel X25-M 'G2' seems generally to be the most highly rated overall. However, there is virtually no stock of 80GBs in the UK at present, except at extortionate prices, and I don't need 160GB.
Kingston SSDs are very reasonably priced, but seem to be a bit of an unknown quantity, although I rate their DDR3 memory very highly.
I have visited the websites of several manufacturers, and read various online reviews, and the recently introduced OCZ Vertex Turbo has had some good reviews, albeit on PC forums.
At the moment I can buy the 60GB Turbo for £170.66 inc.VAT from ebuyer.com, whereas their price for the standard Vertex 60GB is £193.99 inc. VAT, which seems very strange!
When I googled "OCZ Solid State Drives +UK", Amazon UK appeared on the listings, but there was a footnote which said " not suitable for use on Mac".
OCZ list a Vertex Series Mac Edition on their website, and that is why I am asking this question.
Unfortunately, there are no UK listings when I google the Mac Edition, and I am hoping that somebody of the ilk of "the hatter" or "samsara" will be able to answer my question.
If anybody else is using the Vertex Turbo in a Mac, I would be very grateful for your input. Likewise if you have had bad experiences with OCZ SSDs.
If I wait 3-4 weeks I should be able to buy an Intel X25-M G2 80GB for round about the same price as the Vertex Turbo 60GB, i.e. if prices remain the same as currently being quoted by vendors who are out of stock.
All input will be very gratefully received. If it is positive, I will go ahead and order a Vertex Turbo from ebuyer, in case they run out of stock (which is 16 at present).
    Many thanks in anticipation, guys!

    Hi Samsara,
Many thanks for your advices once again.
60GB will be more than adequate as my boot drive. At the moment I am using a VelociRaptor 300GB, and I have used less than 30GB of space. That is after reinstalling all my applications and software, and includes all my files, folders, and printer drivers etc.
I have utilised under 50GB of the original 640GB hard drive, but that includes a lot of photo images which I imported into both iPhoto and Aperture.
When I receive my Agility EX SSD I will clone from the VelociRaptor using Super Duper, and I will then set up a 4 drive RAID 0 using 4 VelociRaptor 300GB disks. That set up should suit my needs for many years to come, even when I eventually upgrade from Photoshop Elements 8 to CS5.
I will back up the Agility EX to the 640GB hard drive using Super Duper Smart Update, and that will be my spare boot drive.
The 4 drive RAID 0 will be backed up to the My Book Studio Edition II 2TB, using Time Machine.
In your experienced opinion, do you think that set up will be satisfactory?
The Agility EX is actually the latest generation of OCZ SSDs, and it is one of only 2 models in their "Maximum Performance" range, whereas the original Agility was only a "Mainstream" model.
The key factor is that the Agility EX uses single-level cells (SLC), instead of multi-level cells (MLC). It is second only to the Vertex EX Series in terms of performance per GB in the OCZ range of SATA 2.5" Solid State Drives.
In very recent reviews it has outperformed both the Vertex Turbo and Vertex 120GB models from the OCZ "Performance" range in most of the test benchmarks.

    http://www.guru3d.com/article/ocz-agility-ex-ssd-60gb-review-test/3
The above are just a few of the very favourable reviews of the Agility EX SSD.
I preferred to buy a 60GB SLC, rather than a 120GB MLC, because SLCs reputedly have 10 times more life expectancy, and performance wise per GB there is no comparison.
Only time will tell if I have made the right decision!

  • Is The iPod Touch Backward Compatible With USB 1.1 Connections?

Hi. I intend to get the iPod Touch soon. But, before I make the leap, I'd like to know whether the iPod Touch is backward compatible with my older USB 1.1 connections. Any help will be appreciated here. Thank you.

    Hello Castlegard,
As mentioned, the Minimum System Requirements for the iPod Touch does specify USB 2.0, see the requirements here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1323
While it is theoretically possible to sync over a USB 1.1 connection, your mileage may vary. Consider that USB 1.1 has a transfer rate of 12Mbit/sec, where USB 2.0 is 480Mbit/sec, so USB 2.0 is basically 40x faster. Transferring small files may succeed, but when you try to get iTunes to update or restore an iPod Touch, it will be trying to push a 300MB file (approximately) through a 12Mbit pipe. Trying to do updates or restore via USB 1.1 will often result in iTunes timing out before the process is complete.
If I were to try to sync a 1.5GB movie over a USB 1.1 connection, I could probably go to downtown Sydney and have a nice dinner and attend a concert at the Sydney Opera House and still get back before the sync was complete. BTW, I live in California...
If your computer is a desktop tower, upgrading to USB 2.0 is a relatively inexpensive proposition. If you are not a handy person with a phillips screwdriver or electical devices, most computer dealers or resellers will install for a nominal fee.

  • CC Apps NOT Backward compatible with Master Collection 6.0...WHY NOT?!!!!

This is just horse doodoo. Adobe, you've already got us hooked and paying out the nose, so WHY do I have to save all of my files in an OLDER version (InDesign, for instance) when I'm working on them in Creative Cloud just so I can be able to open them with my MasterCollection6 I paid $3000+ for?
I should NEVER see the message: "Cannot save because file was created with a newer version Creative Cloud..." when I am working with your latest NON-MONTHLY CS6 Master Collection Apps. It is a pain in the a$$ and slows down our workflow.
PLEASE, either give your loyal Master Collection 6 customers updates that make our Apps compatible with Creative Cloud, or start making Creative Cloud Apps backward compatible with our 6.xx version!
Stop trying to hold us hostage with your plans to monthly-revenue everything we already paid thousands for, please!
    Sincerely pisT,
    Small Business Owner

New features in new software does sometimes mean that new files do not open in old software
Microsoft also does this... the new DOCX documents will not open in the old Word 97 (and, in fact, I had to buy MS Office 2003 because MS Office 97 would not even install and run on Windows 7)

  • Captivate 2 backwards compatible with 1?

Is Captivate 2 backwards compatible with Captivate 1?
For example, would it be just the new features that would be
disabled if I opened a Captivate 2 file in Captivate 1 such as
scenarios, or would the whole file be unopenable.
Also, how does the import work if I'm bringing a file in from
Captivate 1? Do I just open it or would I need to rework anything?
Also in Captivate 1, I've had to hand-write special htm files
for the Active X problem. Are these sorted out in Captivate 2?
I'm ready to release some training and I'm wondering if I
should upgrade it before it goes out, e.g. to add some scenarios.
But if it requires too much rework, I don't have the time right
    now.
    Thanks,
    Kim

    Hi Kim
    For discussion about backwards compatibility,
    Click
    here
Yes, I do believe they have addressed the special coding
required to handle the "click to activate this control" message we
now see. So you shouldn't need to do anything special with respect
    to this issue.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Is a PCI-488.2-1M card backwards compatible with the 488-1975 standard?

Is a PCI-488.2-1M card backwards compatible with the 488-1975 standard?

IEEE 488-1975 is one of the early revisions of the IEEE 488.1 stardard, other revisions include 488-1978 and 488.1-1987.
Because the original IEEE 488 document contained no guidelines for preferred syntax and format conventions, work continued on the specification to enhance system compatibility and configurability among test systems. This work resulted in a supplement standard, IEEE 488.2.
    So, both 488.1 and 488.2 support 488-1975
I checked the link and it is fine, make sure you have the right web browser settings.

  • When will USB 3.0 be truly backwards compatible with USB 2.0 audio interfaces?

    hello
I own a U46DJ mkII audio interface.  I use the interface for music production, particularly recording vocals.
The device performs well on my windows laptop, I can record clean vocals with no artifacts. On the macbook pro however, the incoming audio signal is full of digital pops and clicks.
After spending a few days searching for solutions on google I narrowed it down to the USB 3.0 ports on the new macbook pro.
Lots of people with with all different brands of audio interface are experiencing problems while connecting them to USB 3.0 ports.
Here is an article on the topic: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2012/06/usb-3-0-backwards-compatible-in-theory-but -some-audio-drivers-arent-cooperating/
So, when will USB 3 be truly backwards compatible with our USB 2 devices?

    Tuesday. That's what I heard.
Perhaps the driver is the problem. Check with the interface manufacturer.
I have a Focusrite USB interface that sounds great but Pro Tools and Logic kept crashing when I used it.  I went back and forth with Focusrite, they had several beta drivers which they sent me, none of which fixed the problem. Turns out the interface works better without the driver from the manufacturer.
I find it hard to blame Apple for this. It's not like they didn't have the ML beta out for a long time for all the device manufacturers to test their drivers and their hardware with. Apple can't keep tabs on every third party developer on the planet and design their software and hardware to keep all of them happy.
If you want to give Apple some feedback you can do it here: Apple - Mac OS X - Feedback

  • Are 3g chargers backwards compatible with first gen iphone?

so i know that older chargers don't seem to work on the 3g iphones, but are the newer chargers backwards compatible with the 2g iphones?
i was thinking of getting some after market wall & car chargers for my first gen iphone, but i rather buy ones made for the 3g iphones just incase i upgrade soon (and i don't want to repurchase the chargers)
    anyone know?

well I'm aware that certain first gen chargers won't work with the 3G, but i've come across this 3g car charger which specifically states it's not compatible with a first gen iphone. strange.

  • Headstart cg$errors backward compatible with Designer 9i cg$errors

Is the Headstart cg$errors package backward compatible with the Designer 9i cg$errors package?
I have a user who runs two Designer generated applications, one generated with (e.g. APPHST) and one generated without Headstart (e.g. APPDSG).
The user has grant execute on the Headstart ht65_own.cg$errors and is referencing this ht65_own.cg$errors through a private synonym.
The user also has grant execute on the Designer appdsg_own.cg$errors and is referencing this appdsg_own.cg$errors through a public synonym.
I'm convinced this wil work for the Headstart generated application, but will it work for the other application (APPDSG)?
    Any feedback will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Rob Kayzer

Your fix is correct. (It is exactly the same as the fix we made.)
We are getting ready to offer a Supplement option for Headstart 6i. For a small subscription fee (15%), you will get access to a portal with all of the current bug fixes and enhancements as well as hints and tips that have come in from the field. We will make an announcement on this discussion forum as soon as that option is available (hopefully in the next 1-2 weeks).

  • Why am I forced to update my OS because the Cloud desktop is not backward compatible with OS X 10.6.8? [was: Why do you do this...]

Why do you do this... My mac is old pro running Version 10.6.8 and now I cant up load the creative cloud desk top app without updating the OS. Why cant these apps be backward compatible? I am perfectly happy with V 10.6.8 and my old pro..

There is no requirement to move on from your old pro.  I still use mine.

  • If LTE is backwards compatible with GSM, why don't they say the phones are global?

When is Verizon going to come up with a 4g LTE CDMA GSM phone, just to leave no needs unfilled?  Seems like an obvious gap, except that searching these boards and elsewhere seems to lead to the paradox of yes backwards compatible, but not actually global.
    Argghhhh.  Any helps or ideas?

Some modern chipsets include software-defined radios that can change
their frequency and even their technology.  They change mode depending
on the firmware loaded at startup.  It would be really helpful if we had
a list of such chipsets and the phones that use them.  At least we'd
know which ones stood some chance of being global-compatible in the
future, if and when Verizon decides to enable the capability.  As it is,
they stand a very good chance of losing an increasing number of their
    most lucrative customers.
