After downloading 4.0 I get this message: JavaScript application can't create mcafee plug-in object: TypeError: components.classes[cid] is undefined
I finished downloading Firefox 4.o to my Mac OS.X.
When I try to open a website I get the message:
[JavaScript Application] can't create mcafee plug-in object: TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined
If I click the OK button, the site opens, but without the McAfee alert at the bottom of the window.
I had just downloaded 3.6.16, and got box suggesting download version 4.0 for better security, but that seems to be where the problem is!
That indicates that an add-on you are using is not compatible, considering the other errors it is possibly the McAfee add-on. To confirm what add-on is causing this use the procedure in this link - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes

The following error message came when I tried to open Firefox and install Firefox Home.
"can't create mcafee plug-in object: TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined"This issue can be caused by an extension or plugin that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

I can click ok and firefox will open, but it's still odd... I get the same message when opening any kind of pop-up window.
This issue is most likely caused by a McAfee extension that isn't working properly and you will have to disable the extension that causes it.
You can also check if there is an update available from McAfee that fixes this problem. -
Not much to add. Before Firefox will open, I get this error message, "plug-in object: TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined". I click the "OK" button; Firefox opens and I have no further problems.

On both MacBooks running latest Mac OS when starting Firefox. Did not have this problem with previous versions.
That indicates that the extension is not compatible with Firefox 4. You can check with McAfee to see if they have an updated version for the Mac that works on Firefox 4.

What can I do about this:
After upgrading to firefox 6, I get this error.
When I click to open Firefox, A box open with the following error:
JAVASCRIPT Application
TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined?
After I click close on the box, then Firefox will start. I really just want to get the error fixed so that when I want firefox open, I don't have to see this box anymore. You need to figure out which add-on is causing that error and disable it until the developer of that add-on fixes it. There may be an error message about that in the Error Console, accessed through the Web Developer menu item or through {Ctrl + Shft + J}.

Since installing the newest version of Firefox, This message "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined" appears in a box when a new window should open. Also, what you see in print print preview is not what prints.
This type of error is usually caused by an add-on you are using that is not compatible. It could be anything from an antivirus link scanner like AVG Safe Search add-on, or McAfee Site Advisor add-on, or something similar. To confirm what add-on is causing this use the procedure in this link:
https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Try Disabling the last add-on that was installed prior to upgrading to version 5.0
Check and tell if its working. -
Only started since the upgrade. Windows Vista Home 32 bit.
The error message reads:
"TypeError:Components.classes[cid] is undefined."Try the suggested idea above. I just disabled all the add-ons which were not compatible with FF 5 and did a FF restart. That fixed the problem. I then enabled each one, one at a time, with a FF restart until the problem came back. I then disabled that add-on.
