Does APPS account have access to this table ? Since you have not qualified the name of the table with the schema name, is there a public or private synonym (in APPS account) that points to this custom table ?

• Error updating tables based on schema

OK this is your decision. However If you are building a production system that is important to your orgnanization as the product manager I strongly recommend that you either upgrade to a least 9.2.0.3.0 or discontinue using XML DB technology completely
There are probably somewhere in the order of 500 serious XML DB related bugs fixed between 9.2.0.1.0 and 9.2.0.7.0, all of which have been regarded as serious enough to impossible for a customer to develop or deploy a production system. None of these will EVER be fixed or available as patches for 9.2.0.1.0.
The way in which we store the data on the disc is different in 9.2.0.3.0, and while in theory we migrate the on disc format when you upgrade in practice I know that is has never been tested with any significant amount of data present.
Also you really want to take the support situation into account. Image this, it's 3:00am in the morning and your production system fails due one of the bugs that have been fixed in a later release of the product. You cannot find a workaround and you call oracle support for help. They WILL say, sorry there is nothing we can do until you upgrade to 9.2.0.3.0. Now you have to upgrade in hurry and then re-test everything you have done before you can even start working on a fix.
From a business perspective staying on 9.2.0.1.0 and continuing to use the XML DB technology makes no sense. I hope I have made this clear. If you want I will be more than happy to discuss this issue with your development managers.

• RPTIME00 - Custom Internal Table , Custom Clsuter in Custom Function.

Hello Guru,
I have a requirement to create custom scheme with totally new custom function , rules .
my question is it is possible to declare custom internal tables like TIP, TOP and cutom cluster to store results.
if yes then how ?
Thanks in adance

My requirement is based on a project to develop new sap product which can handle complex crew management for industries like railways and airlines, product is still in protoype phase and will basicaly cover right from dispatching crew to various sites to generating there payroll. standard sap works on basis of day and time. but crew industory work on trip. a crew for example pilot fly form point A to B get paid/claims based on on that single trip and whatever activities he has done in that trip. so purely this is based on trip and not day or hours, now we are thinking about using RPTIMEOO as a tool to calculate and create wage type beacuse at the end of the day payroll is getting generated in SAP and also all the crew employee will be setup as master data. this whole product will have its own screeen to capture activties and opereations . will be build on top of sap hcm.
so was thinking any ways sap says that you can create custom schema and rules but those standard internal tables and cluster are of no use because of the structure is based in trip, wage type will be based in miles that crew travel.
so trying to find how far this RPTIME00 is flexible .. and is possible to create custom function. becoz at end we are going to update payroll 2010 which can be mapped some how. RPTIME00 can also give clients to add there own custom functions in future if any new req comes.
if this is not possible i.e RPTIMEOO can not use custom cluster , then we might have to write abap programs ti do calculation but only problem any new features to be added will lead to code change.
thanks for your patience ..

• How to use customer extension table for schedule line for shopping cart ?

Dear Experts,
One of our client wants to have schedule lines in shopping cart item. I am thinking of using customer extension table at item level for shopping cart. Could you please help me on how I should proceed with the appending the structures so that the end user can fill the shopping cart schedule line details?
Which fields should I consider in such cases?
Thanks and regards,

Hi.
I guess you use SRM 7.0. Please go to IMG.

• How to find out list of clob/blob tables in a schema

Hi,
I have tricky situation...i have 119 tables out of which 11 tables are clob/blob tables...is there any view where i can find out list of tables are clob/blob tables? (at schema level view means user_<>)
-- Raman.

USER_TAB_COLS includes the data type, column name, and table name for each column in each table in the system. You could query that looking for columns with a DATA_TYPE of CLOB or BLOB. If some tables have multiple LOB columns and you want them to appear only once, you'd have to throw a DISTINCT on the table name.

select column_name
bulk collect
into v_col_tbl
from DBA_TAB_COLUMNS
WHERE TABLE_NAME = I.OBJECT_NAME
AND OWNER = IN_OWNER_NAME;
-- start selecting the column and exporting using the column names selected.

for i in v_col_tbl.first .. v_col_tbl.last
loop
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_lINE(v_col_tbl(i));
end loop;
end if;
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_lINE( i.object_name || '-' || v_count);

• How to load SAP R/3 tables into a schema in SAP HANA Cloud Platform

Hello, everyone.
First of all, my apologies for any basic mistakes, I'm new here, so there's a lot of stuff I don't know yet.
I need to upload some tables to a schema in my HANA trial account to test some algorithms and see if the kind of application I want to build is possible, but I don't know the best way to do this.
To my understanding, using the Cloud Connector would merely make my tables visible to my application in the cloud, but it would not actually upload them (or rather, I'm sure there's a way to upload them using it, but I suspect there are far simpler methods out there).
I think one of the simplest possible methods would be to create the schema, open a tunnel using the console client, and to import the tables to the schema via the HANA Studio. Maybe, if that doesn't work, a CMIS repository could be used (although I'm somewhat skeptical, as I think something like this it's not its intended use). Or maybe there's another possibility I'm not seeing. Either way, I would love to hear some answers that could shed some light on this.
Also, as I mentioned earlier I'm only using a trial account for this, I don't know if there's any limitation that could prevent me from doing this. I'd also like to hear your opinion on this matter.
Thank you.

BUDAT is the technical name for Posting Date field. This field is used many DB Tables/ Strucutres. Using where used option you can find the required tables.
I suggest you to look at BSEG table for Finace Document postings by Posting Date.

• Report Custom Vertical Table Question

Hello Guys,
I am trying to display some data in a custom vertical table (for a report). The data that I have looks like this :
Customer number Name Product Age
123 John Customer Checking 50
456 Jane Customer Savings 40
When I display it using a vertical table (or attribute value pairs) the data looks like:
Customer number: 123
Name : John Customer
Product: Bank Account
Age: 50
Customer number: 456
Name : Jane Customer
Product: Bank Account
Acct No: 40
But I want to display the data like this:
Customer number: 123 456
Name : John Customer Jane Customer
Product: Bank Account Bank Account
Age: 50 50
The option here is to change the data to dynamic columns rather than dynamic rows. I tried manipulating the templates but it would not do it. Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi Badri,
OK - this is what I did (there's no documentation as such, so I'll just give you the step-by-step guide here!):
1 - In your application, go to Shared Components then Templates
2 - Click the Create button
3 - Click the "Report" option
4 - Select "From Scratch" and click Next
5 - Enter a name for the new template (for example, "Vertical Report"), leave the Theme as your current theme, set Template Class to "Custom 1", tick the "Named Column (row template)" option and click Create
This creates a new blank report template - scroll down the list of templates to this new one and click on the name to edit it.
In there, you need to enter the following:
Row Template 1 setting:

#1#

#2#

#3#

#4#

NOTE: In my example report, I show four columns (EMPNO, ENAME, SAL, COMM) - these are refered to as #1#, #2#, #3# and #4# above (#1# means column number 1, #2# is column 2 and so on - but use the column numbers not the names in your template). If you have a different number of columns add in or remove lines of:

#nn#

(replacing nn with the column number)
Leave all other settings in the Row Templates section blank
Before Rows setting:

EMPNO

ENAME

SAL

COMM

NOTE: You will need one TR tag for each of the column headings - I have four here (EMPNO, ENAME, SAL and COMM) - add or remove lines of

COLUMNNAME

After Rows setting:

#PAGINATION#

Leave all settings in the Pagination section blank
NOTE: Any "class" name used above assumes that you are using Theme 18 (t18Standard is the standard report style class, for example) - you will have to update these to match your own theme
Click Apply Changes to save this
Now go back to your page and click on the "Report" link for your report region - this takes you to Report Attributes. Scroll down to the "Report Template" setting and change this to your new template. Click Apply Changes to save that.
When the page is rendered, a new table will be created for the report, the headings will be created within another table in the first TD on that table. All data lines are created as separate tables within new TD tags - this makes the output go across the page instead of down.

• Accessing tables from different schema in CDS and AMDP

Hi All,
We are working on a HANA system which has several schema replicated from SAP R/3/Non SAP systems. We have BW 7.4 SP9 deployed on the same system and accessing the HANA views using latest BW virtual objects such as Open ODS , Composite providers etc.
We are also using the BW system for few ABAP based data processing developments. We are currently accessing HANA views in ABAP programs by creating dictionary views based on external HANA views.
We would like to however use recent possibilities of CDS and AMDP for better life cycle management of ABAP based solutions. The open SAP course on this subject was of very good help. Thanks a lot "open SAP team" for that. I would however have few open questions,
As I understand AMDP gives us full flexibility of writing sql procedures within ABAP development environment, but can we access tables from different schema into AMDP code. If yes, then sample code would help.
If the answer of first question is yes, then how do we manage transports between development and production systems where the schema names would be different. Currently in open HANA developments, such transport is manged using Schema mapping.
Can I also use different schema tables in CDS views.
We are updating few tables in ABAP dictionary after applying processing logic in ABAP program as detailed in step 1. With the new approach using AMDP, can we directly update database schema tables which will give us an optimization advantage.
New ABAP HANA program interfaces are quite promising and we would like to use them to optimize many data intensive applications.
Thanks & Regards,
Anil

Hi Anil,
I can only answer 1. and 2. (and would be interested into 3. as well):
1.
Yes you can access tables from a different schema and also HANA views. In this case no 'using' is needed.
Examples:
RESULT = SELECT
FROM
"SAP_ECC"."T441V" AS t,
"_SYS_BIC"."tmp.package/AFPO" AS a.
WHERE ...
2. In this case, if you need schema mapping: You could use HANA (projection) views which just forward to a different schema, also see example.
Best regards,
Christoph

Hi Sanjana,
What you can do is to use the ABAP keyword INSERT or MODIFY to add or modify records to a given database table. Here are the syntax taken from SAP documentation:
*Insert Statement
INSERT dbtab
Syntax
INSERT { {INTO target VALUES source }
| { target FROM source } }.
Effect
The INSERT statement inserts one or more rows specified in source in the database table specified in target. The two variants with INTO and VALUES or without INTO with FROM behave identically, with the exception that you cannot specify any internal tables in source after VALUES.
System Fields
The INSERT statement sets the values of the system fields sy-subrc and sy-dbcnt.
sy-subrc Meaning
0 At least one row was inserted.
4 At least one row could not be inserted, because the database table already contains a row with the same primary key or a unique secondary index.
The INSERT statement sets sy-dbcnt to the number of rows inserted.
Note
The inserted rows are finally included in the table in the next database commit. Up until this point, they can still be removed by a database rollback.
*Modify Statement
MODIFY dbtab
Syntax
MODIFY target FROM source.
Effect
The MODIFY statement inserts one or several lines specified in source in the database table specified in target, or overwrites existing lines.
System fields
The MODIFY statement sets the values of the sy-subrc and sy-dbcnt system fields.
sy-subrc Meaning
0 At least one line is inserted or changed.
4 At least one line could not be processed since there is already a line with the same unique name secondary index in the database table.
The MODIFY statement sets sy-dbcnt to the number of processed lines.
Note
The changes are transferred finally to the database table with the next database commit. Up to that point, they can be reversed using a database rollback.
Hope it helps...
P.S. Please award points if it helps...

Edited by: user8105261 on Nov 25, 2009 11:06 PMA typical way to reset a schema (e.g. to recreate a schema on the test database) is totally different.
1) Drop the user
2) recreate the user including table scripts from
2a) your version control system
2b) from a export dumpfile using the "nodata" option while importing
