Database MDS personalization not working for ADF
NA
Edited by: Mukesh S Patil on May 28, 2013 1:52 PM
Hi Frank and all
1] The issue is when i deploy from console uploading the .ear file ( which has adf-config.xml ) , the application never connects to MDS database. I feel that it is not reading adf-config.xml at all
2] However when i deploy same using JDeveloper, a window pop up asking the MDS partition name. This time it works . :-)
But in production i can not deploy through JDeveloper. Then how to tell the application that there is configuration file,read it and store data ???

Fault handling from MDS is not working for messagerejection
Hi All,
I am sorry if i am asking simple things, but after trying i couldn't figure out the problem so i reached here.
In my project i am using file adapter in many places, so rejection handler is very important in finding out the missing files at the time of reading the file.So i created fault policies and bindings and i created simple process and placed the polices and binding files in the project, as expected it is working fine but if i referred the same files from my mds path rejection is not working.
here is my fault polices and binding files.
faultpolices.xml

Database Upgrade Agent not working for upgrading Oracle 9i DB to Oracle 10i
Hi All,
Presently I have completed my Oracle 10i installation on Solaris Server but I am facing an issue during the upgrade process of Oracle 9i to 10g. Whenever I try to upgrade the 9i databases to 10g using DBUA(Database Upgrade assistant) I am facing an issue that Data base not running from oracle home or pfile not found. The exact error message says:-
The upgrade assistant failed in bringing up the database XIPCOTS. Oracle Home /opt/apps/home/oracle9i/product/releases/92/92 obtained from file /var/opt/oracle/oratab was used to connect to the database. Either the database is not running from Oracle Home /opt/apps/home/oracle9i/product/releases/92/92 or the correct Initialisation parameter file (pfile) was not found. To start the database , Oracle needs the pfile. Provide the full path name of the init file for the database XIPCOTS.
In reality the XIPCOTS database is running fine in Oracle 9i and we can connect it using PL/SQL developer in windows.I have also provided the path of pfile but it is still not accepting the same.
Path of pfile I provided :- /XIP/ofaroot/XIPCOTS/pfile/initXIPCOTS.ora
Any help or suggestions would be greately appreciated.
Our both Oracle 9i and 10g are installed on same Solaris server where solaris version is 9
Installation path for 9i :- /opt/apps/home/oracle9i/product/releases/92/92
Installation path for 10g :- /opt/apps/home/oracle/product/releases/10201
Oracle 9i version :- 9.2.0.7
Oracle 10g version :- 10.2.01
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Gourav BanerjeeCan you please mention the specific folder name under oracle home where we need to put this pfile because there are two folder dbs and ds I have allready tried putting it inside dbs its not working. And my home path is correct I hope and is set for oracle 9i directories in the .oraenv file do we need to set it for oracle 10g before the DBUA upgrade.

Alerts are not working for Site collections in a content database
Hi,
We have been into a strange issue that alerts are not working for site collections from a particular content database. When user subscribed for the alerts, they are getting mail about their subscription but not after that for any new items/documents added
or changes happen in the list/document library.
We have tried with Immediate as well as scheduled alerts both are not working.
FYI, Alerts for all other site collections from different content database for the same web application are working without any issues.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Why String Search in not working in ADF.?
Hi,
I've created application in ADF with Search Options. Search Operation is working for all the Integer Values in that page but its not working for String Values.
I dont know why its not able to search String Values.
My AppModule bean Code :
package model.portfolio.portfolio.am;
import model.portfolio.portfolio.am.common.PortfolioAppModuleAM;
import model.portfolio.portfolio.view.ResourceViewChildObjImpl;
import oracle.jbo.VariableValueManager;
import oracle.jbo.ViewCriteria;
import oracle.jbo.server.ApplicationModuleImpl;
import oracle.jbo.server.ViewLinkImpl;
import oracle.jbo.server.ViewObjectImpl;
public class PortfolioAppModuleAMImpl extends ApplicationModuleImpl implements PortfolioAppModuleAM {
* This is the default constructor (do not remove).
public PortfolioAppModuleAMImpl() {
public void applyVCforGlobalSearchPortfolios(String theString){
ViewObjectImpl vo = getPortfolio1();
ViewCriteria vc = vo.getViewCriteria("PortfolioVOCriteria");
System.out.println("On Criteria");
vc.resetCriteria();
VariableValueManager vvm = vc.ensureVariableManager();
System.out.println("On String");
vvm.setVariableValue("globalSearchString", theString);
System.out.println("After String");
vo.applyViewCriteria(vc,true);
vo.executeQuery();
*All Getters and Setter of all VO and VLs****
My Query created in View Criteria :
( (UPPER(SHORTNAME) LIKE UPPER( :globalSearchString || '%') ) OR (UPPER(DESCRIPTION) LIKE UPPER( :globalSearchString || '%') ) AND (PROGRAMMES_COUNT = :globalSearchString ) OR (KK_COUNT = :globalSearchString ) OR (KPI_KRA_VALUE = :globalSearchString ) )
One more interesting thing in After Creating the View Criteria If i try to Test this Query, Its giving me error msg as
"Cannot complete query to determine the view attributes. Either the query is invalid or timeout occurs. Please revise the query or create the view attributes manually.
"com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ':globalSearchString || '%') ) OR (UPPER(QRSLT.DESCRIPTION) LIKE UPPER( :globalSe' at line 1"
I don know why... Can somebody please help me?
Im using Jdev 12CBinding variables will be different from oracle database and My Sql database.
Oracle database use this (:) for defining bindVariable but in My Sql use this (?)
Try to remove the view criteria which you define in View Object and you can make it programmatically like this:
ViewObject vo = getPortfolio1();
ViewCriteria vc = vo.createViewCriteria();
ViewCriteriaRow vcr = vc.createViewCriteriaRow();
vcr.setAttribute("Attribute1", value);
vcr.setAttribute("Attribute2", value);
vc.add(vcr);
vo.applyViewCriteria(vc);
vo.executeQuery(); -
Select All in a table does not work for Drag and Drop
Hi. I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.2 but have also reproduced in 11.1.1.3.
I am trying to implement drag and drop rows from one table to another. Everything works fine except when I do a Select All (ctrl-A) in a table, the table visually looks like all rows are selected, but when I try to click on one of the selected rows to drag to the other table, only the row I click on is dragged.
I tried setting Range Size -1, fetch mode to FETCH_ALL, content delivery to "immediate" but nothing works.
I even have reproduced not using a view object but just a List of beans with only 5 or 10 beans showing in the table.
Does anyone know how to get Select All to work for a Drag Source?
Thanks.

OK, thanks for looking into that. I also submitted this service request, which includes a simple sample app to demonstrate the problem:
SR #3-2387481211: ADF Drag and Drop does not work for rows in table using Select All
Thanks again for the reply.

Thunderbird Mission Control Desktop/AutoConfig not working for some users
I have the file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\defaults\pref\custom.js"
It contains:
pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
pref("general.config.filename", "TMcustom.cfg");
I have the file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\TMcustom.cfg"
It contains:
var promptService = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/embedcomp/prompt-service;1"]
.getService(Components.interfaces.nsIPromptService);
promptService.alert(null, "title", "testing");
For most of my users the alert pops up fine when I start Thunderbird, but for a few it doesn't. All of the machines where setup with the same install script. If I log into one of the machines where it's not working as a different user, then it works fine, so I know the files are in the right spot. So why would it not work for specific users? Is there something in the user's Windows profile that could cause it to not work? Or are there any other suggestions?As it turns out this was a known bug that was corrected in the recent release of Java 7_65 and Java 8_11. Here is a link to the bug description in the database.

Auto_lexer (stemming) not working for other languages(other than english)
Hi All,
We are planning to use AUTO_LEXER instead of MULTI_LEXER and observed that stemming is not working for German where as it is working for English when I use AUTO_LEXER. I even used query templates but of no use.
But when i use MULTI_LEXER, creating sub lexers for German and Enlgish, Stemming is working for German also after changing the session language and setting stemmer of wod list to German (Which is expected).
Following is the code for AUTO_LEXER creation:
CREATE TABLE test_auto_lexer(pkey NUMBER(5,0),

this doesnt work even after changing the session language. My default Sesson language is AMERICAN.
Could any one help me with this, in case I am missing something here. I would be really thankful.
Edited by: Nagendra Prasad on Jan 23, 2010 12:05 AMIn the future, please begin a new thread for a new question and provide a link to a related question.
According to the online documentation, Oracle only supports stemming for English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese. Oracle does not support Russian stemming, although you may have gotten some accidental results, due to identifying it as a different language and applying stemming rules for that language. The following manual sections show the languages available for the index_stems attribute of the basic_lexer and stemmer attribute of the basic_wordlist:
Basic_lexer attributes:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/text.112/e24436/cdatadic.htm#CIHHBAAD
Basic_wordlist attributes:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/text.112/e24436/cdatadic.htm#g1019326
Also, please see the following note:
Features not available in 11.2.0.3:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/readmes.112/e22488/toc.htm#BABDGGDB
"Certain Oracle Text functionality based on third-party technologies, including AUTO_LEXER and CTX_ENTITY, have been disabled in this release (reference Bug 12618046). For BASIC_LEXER, the usage of the INDEX_STEMS attribute values that depend on third-party technologies, is also affected. If this impacts an existing application, contact Oracle Support Services for guidance."
Also, the auto_lexer has been replaced by the world_lexer, which only has one attribute:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/text.112/e24436/cdatadic.htm#BHCJEGFJ
I don't work for Oracle, so I don't know why they do things the way they do.
So, you need to stick with the basic_wordlist for stemming, not the lexers. However, you may get better performance by combining the multi_lexer with the basic_wordlist, as the multi_lexer eliminates time spent on automatic language detection. But, you need to remember not to use the index_stems with your lexer, since it will conflict with the wordlist. I am not experiencing any time problems as you have. Please see the demo below. I have provided the whole script below that, so that you can reproduce it on your system. If you still have problems, then it may be due to differences in versions.

Cascading Select Lists - Not Working for me
I am trying to implement Denes Kubicek's Ajax Cascading Select List solution.
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:119
But it is not working for me.
I'm a newbie to APEX and checked the forum for advice on cascading select lists. I saw the thread for
"Cascading Select Lists - Not Working" posted by sue and the replies by Varad Acharya, but I'm still
having issues of not seeing the alerts, not able to run the pl/sql process in SQL Workshop, and not
getting the expected results.
I have a list of countries (US - USA, CA - CANADA, etc.) and a list of states for each country. When a
user selects a country I would like to show the list of states within that country.
This is what I've done so far:
Defined an application process:
Process Point: On Demand: Run ... by a page process.
Name: CASCADING_SELECT_LIST1
Process Text:
BEGIN
OWA_UTIL.mime_header ('text/xml', FALSE);
HTP.p ('Cache-Control: no-cache');
HTP.p ('Pragma: no-cache');
OWA_UTIL.http_header_close;
HTP.prn ('<select>');
HTP.prn ('<option value="' || 99 || '">' || '- All States -'
|| '</option>'
FOR c IN (SELECT state_code || ' - ' || state_desc d, state_code r
FROM tbk_state
WHERE country_code = :cascading_selectlist_item_1)
LOOP
HTP.prn ('<option value="' || c.r || '">' || c.d || '</option>');
END LOOP;
HTP.prn ('</select>');
END;
defined and application item:
Name: CASCADING_SELECTLIST_ITEM_1
Build Option: - No Build Option -
Created a 'Form on a table with report' as follows:
Page 5: Report on TBK_HARDWARE_LOCATION
Page 6: Form on TBK_HARDWARE_LOCATION
in HTML Header of the page attributes for 'Form on TBK_HARDWARE_LOCATION' I have:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
<!--
htmldb_delete_message='"DELETE_CONFIRM_MSG"';
//-->
</script>
<script>
function get_select_list_xml1(pThis,pSelect){
var l_Return = null;
var l_Select = html_GetElement(pSelect);
alert ('Dept no=' + pThis.value);
var get = new htmldb_Get(null,html_GetElement('pFlowId').value,
'APPLICATION_PROCESS=CASCADING_SELECT_LIST1',0);
get.add('CASCADING_SELECTLIST_ITEM_1',pThis.value);
gReturn = get.get('XML');
// gReturn = get.get();
alert('Enames=' + gReturn);
if(gReturn && l_Select){
var l_Count = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("option").length;
l_Select.length = 0;
for(var i=0;i<l_Count;i++){
var l_Opt_Xml = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("option");
appendToSelect(l_Select, l_Opt_Xml.getAttribute('value'),
l_Opt_Xml.firstChild.nodeValue)
get = null;
function appendToSelect(pSelect, pValue, pContent) {
var l_Opt = document.createElement("option");
l_Opt.value = pValue;
if(document.all){
pSelect.options.add(l_Opt);
l_Opt.innerText = pContent;
}else{
l_Opt.appendChild(document.createTextNode(pContent));
pSelect.appendChild(l_Opt);
</script>
On Page 6: 'Form on TBK_HARDWARE_LOCATION' I have the following items (plus some others):
Name: P6_COUNTRY_CODE
Display as: Select List
HTML Form Element Attributes: onchange="get_select_list_xml1(this,'P6_STATE_CODE');"
Source Used: Only when current value in session state is null
Source Type: Database Column
maintain session state: Per session
Source value or expression: COUNTRY_CODE
Named LOV: LIST OF COUNTRIES
Name: P6_STATE_CODE
Display as: Select List
Source Used: Only when current value in session state is null
Source Type: Database Column

Source value or expression: STATE_CODE
Named LOV: - Select named LOV -
List of Values definition:
select state_code || ' - ' || state_desc d, state_code r

where country_code = :P6_COUNTRY_CODE
order by 1
LIST OF COUNTRIES is defined as:
select country_code || ' - ' || country_desc d, country_code r
from tbk_country
order by 1
Now to the problem:
I run page 5 (the report) to see the list of locations and then I try to edit a record (page 6). When I
try to select a different country I get the following error (on IE):
"Problems with this web page might prevent it from being displayed properly or functioning properly.

I don't see any of the alert messages.
I also tried to run the application process code in the SQL - Command Processor (I replaced
:cascading_selectlist_item_1 with 'CA' or 'US') and got the following:

First, thank you for taking the time to try to help me with this problem.
When I view the page's source code (here are the first few lines):

var get = new htmldb_Get(null,html_GetElement('pFlowId').value,
'APPLICATION_PROCESS=CASCADING_SELECT_LIST1',0);
get.add('CASCADING_SELECTLIST_ITEM_1',pThis.value);
gReturn = get.get('XML');
// gReturn = get.get();
//alert('Enames=' + gReturn);
if(gReturn && l_Select){
var l_Count = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("option").length;
l_Select.length = 0;
for(var i=0;i<l_Count;i++){
var l_Opt_Xml = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("option");
appendToSelect(l_Select, l_Opt_Xml.getAttribute('value'),
l_Opt_Xml.firstChild.nodeValue);
get = null;
function appendToSelect(pSelect, pValue, pContent) {
var l_Opt = document.createElement("option");
l_Opt.value = pValue;
if(document.all){
pSelect.options.add(l_Opt);
l_Opt.innerText = pContent;
}else{
l_Opt.appendChild(document.createTextNode(pContent));
pSelect.appendChild(l_Opt);
</script>
It looks like line 17 is:
var l_Select = html_GetElement(pSelect);
I'm still not sure why I'm getting this error and why it's not working?
Thanks,

Incoming Email not working for one web app, but IS working for others in same farm.
I have enabled incoming email in a large multi-web application farm running SharePoint 2013 SP1 and the Feb 2015/March 2015 CUs that were pushed down in Windows Updates. It works just fine for two web applications, but it will not work for one particular
web application. I see the email land in the /drop folder. If I remove the email address from the library in http://nonworkingapp web
application and use it on a library in a http://working web application, then the email is processed successfully. Conversely,
if I take an address from a library in http://working and move it to a library inhttp://nonworkingapp it
does not work. I've tried multiple site collections on http://nonworkingapp. This rules out any SMTP issues, etc. and means
the issue is bound to this web application. Permissions are the same between the "non-working" and "working" locations: domain users are members on the site, and the library inherits permissions from the site. The App Pool and Timer
Service accounts have rights to the folder and to the library.
The error in the ULS log is the typical error processing message, but it gives no additional information even though I have enabled Verbose logging.
The Incoming E-Mail service has completed a batch. The elapsed time was 00:00: 00.0156294. The service processed 2 message(s) in total. Errors occurred processing 2 message(s): Message ID: Message
ID:
Typically, you see "alias not found" or some permissions or quota issue here, but this issue is NOT the same as those. In this case NO additional information is provided in ULS.
Edit: running stsadm.exe -o refreshdms -url http://one/failing/site fixed some similar issues where "Unknown alias" was
reported even though the list did have an alias (see here:http://blogs.technet.com/b/vinitt/archive/2009/07/15/e-mail-enabled-list-alias-information-is-not-synchronized-between-configuration-database-and-content-database.aspx).
This did not fix the issue for the case mentioned above.
What could possibly be the issue preventing incoming email from working on this one web application?Thanks for your reply. Incoming E-Mail was running on all 3 WFE, however I do not think this was the cause. As noted, _other_ emails send to http://workingapp are working just fine. I can send two emails - one to a library on http://workingapp
and another on http://notworkingapp. The email to http://notworkingapp will sit in the drop folder, while the one to http://workingapp will be processed correctly. In addition, the ULS log on WFE1 indicates an attempt to process the file fails.
So clearly, the timer job on WFE1 is running and attempting to process the file. For kicks, I disabled the service on WFE2 and WFE3, but with no change in the behavior.
WRT to #1, I have done this already (as noted in the original post). I can remove an alias from http://workingapp and place it on http://nonworkingapp and it is not processed. If I return it to http://workingapp it is processed. In other
words, I go into Library Settings -> Incoming Email for a working library, and copy the alias, then disable incoming email for that library. I then go to Library Settings -> Incoming Email for a non-working library, enable incoming email, and paste
the alias. Once done, emails sent to the alias are not processed. I then do the reverse, and it works again.
On #2, I have already tried multiple libraries on http://nonworkingapp (also as noted in the original post).
In my environment, incoming email does not work for any library on http://nonworkingapp, but does work for any library on http://workingapp. Troubleshooting listed above has ruled out any problem with basic mail server configuration or library settings
- the problem is bound to http://nonworkingapp
I'm not sure what you mean by "steps to reproduce the issue". If I knew that, I would probably be able to solve the issue. The best I could come up with to describe the situation would be:
Set up SP 2010 in a three-node configuration with multiple web apps
Enable incoming email and confirm it works
Migrate to a SP2013 SP1 farm in a three node configuration.
Enable a new email alias for a library
Observe that it doesn't work for one web application.
Obviously, it's pretty unlikely that attempting that in a lab would actually have the same result. -
Filtering not working for newly added child objects in master-detail table
Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 version.
Problem scenario:
Filtering of records is not working for newly created child objects in a master-detail scenario.
Steps to reproduce this issue using HR Schema (using LOCATIONS and DEPARTMENTS table ) :
1. Create Business components (EO's & VO's ) for LOCATIONS & DEPARTMENTS table)
1. Create a .jspx page and insert a readonly master table of Locations
2. Insert a child table (inline-edit table) of Departments and enable filtering
4. For the child table, drag and drop CreateInsert operation as a toolbar button .
5. Create a new child record using the toolbar button and enter data .
6. Filtering on the newly created child record's attributes does not work.
Please note that the same filter works for existing child records.
Any suggestions for resolving this issue?
Thanks,
VikasFound from Fusion Developer's Guide the following snippet about QBE functionality :
"+When you create data controls, all data collections will automatically include a Named Criteria node with an All Queriable Attributes criteria. This is the default view criteria that includes all the searchable attributes or columns of the data collection. You cannot edit or modify this view criteria+. "
So, the question is if the implicit view criteria cannot be edited, how else to set the query execution mode to "Both" ?
Shouldn't ADF BC support this by default? Is this a bug?
Note:- If you create a maste-detail table using POJO datacontrols, filter works correctly for newly created child records also .
This seems to be an issue with ADF-BC datacontrols only.
Thanks,

Why is the 'Next' button in 508 Screen Reader mode not working for RichTree
Hi ADF Experts,
My JDeveloper version is 11.1.1.8. The 'Next' button in 508 Screen Reader mode for tables works fine.
However, it does not work for trees, I can see only the first 23 or so items.
Any ideas?
What am I missing here?
Regards,
-abThere is no official JDeveloper version is 11.1.1.8.0!
If you use an internal build ou should post to an internal forum.
If you use an official version please tell us which on.

Forms Personalization not working after R12 upgrade
Hi,
We have recently upgraded to R12. We have forms personalizations on the People, Enter and Maintain form and this is not working now after the R12 upgrade.
I went to one of the form personalizations and Validated and Applied again but it still did not work. I also created a new one but had no success with that either.
Any ideas how to get this working again ? Is there something extra that needs to be done for R12?
Thanks
Regards,
ShalanthaPl indicate which version of R12 and on what form you had the personalization in the previous version. Have you checked FND_FORM_CUSTOM_% tables to ensure that the personalization survived the upgrade ?

My database connectivity is not working inspite of installing sql express
My database connectivity is not working inspite of installing sql express ...what should I do so that my database works
Hello karan7,
In addition to pvdg's post, can you reproduce this issue with a new fresh database? If you can this means it is a SQL Setup related problem. If you cannot, your database file may already corrupt.
Best regards,
Barry
