"Display form" Button in Workitem Preview

We are trying to prototype the "new business package for Travel".
Using the standard Workflow template we are able to test the requirement
successfully.The template we are testing is WS20000040, and the approval task
is decision TS20000131, when viewing the workitem preview in portal, we see the
outcomes as push buttons, along with the outcomes it displays one more push button
as "display form". When we click on this button, it displays the Adobe form for the trip.
But we tried copying the same decision TS20000131 to a cstom task, we did not change
anything, except the text in the outcome steps(added our custom text here)....and when we test our workflow, in
the workitem preview, we do not see the  button "Display form", we see the button "Open Task".
Not sure if there is any config that needs to be done to enable this option.
I did check in SWFVISU , but there is no entry for the task TS20000131 and it works fine
without it.But not for the custom task.
Any input is appreciated.
Thank you

1. If it is a custom task and if you want to execute from portal then you need register in SWFVISU.
2. Portal button will be displayed as Open Task by default. If you want to display according to your task then you need to download the XML content of UWL and customize by giving the task id of yours and try to change action name of the button.
Revert if it is useful

  • "Display Form" button not visible in UWL preview

    Hi Friends,
    We are implementing Travel module. The standard Workflow WS20000050 has a single level of approval. However, we wanted 2 level approval and so accordingly this was implemened.
    Now we want a 3rd level of decision step to be approved by the traveldesk on recept of tickets.
    Even the pdf form, which contains the travel details, needs to be visible. In the standard task TS20000118, the "Display Form" button is automatically visible in the UWL preview apart from the usual
    "Approve" and "Reject" buttons.
    However the content that needs to be shown to the traveldesk is different. To achieve this, i copied the standard task TS20000118 and changed only the task description. Rest everything including the parameters and binding remains same.
    But for this task, the "Display Form" button is not visible.
    1. Please advice on the possible reasons why this is happening ?
    2. Is there any setting or any SPRO configuration wherin we need to
        specify the tasks for whom the button needs to be displayed ?? or
        Is it some portal side configuration ?

    Hi Vijay,
    Universal Worklist Content Configuration -> Click to Administrate Item Types and View Definitions
    In the table under the "Current Configurations" tab, select the standard travel configuration provided by SAP -> "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra".
    Here, search for the code of the task for which everything is working fine; in our case it was TS20000118. Copy this piece of code.
    Now download the currently active XML configuration. In the saved XML file, search for the task code which is not working as expected. Replace this piece of code with the code copied in the above step. Save with a different name.
    Upload this new configuration with HIgh priority.
    Reregister the connector and clear the cache.
    These steps solved my problem. Probably it should work for you too.

  • Display form at UWL error " Insufficient information for generating output"

    Hi experts,
    I got error while use "display form" button in UWL.
    the error is " Insufficient information for generating output (missing printer, for ex.) "
    ■The ABAP call stack was:
    Form: USEREXIT_TOP_2 of program RPRTEF00
    Form: TOP_OF_PAGE of program RPRTEF00
    TOP-OF-PAGE of program RPRTEF00
    Form: PRINT-REISEVERLAUF of program RPRTEF00
    Form: DRUCKE_REISE of program RPRTEF00
    Form: PRINT_TRIP of program RPRTEF00
    Form: DRUCKE-REISEN of program RPRTEF00
    Form: %_GET_PERNR of program RPRTEF00
    how to solve this?

    Can you elaborate on what exactly configured and how and why? I fail to understand what exactly you did because in my company, we used the standard (up until now);that means UWL configuration file "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra".
    And for the request-Form handling it has this action:
    <Action name="com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.action.DisplayRequestForm" groupAction="" handler="SAPAppLauncher" referenceBundle="com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.DisplayForm" returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes" launchInNewWindow="yes" launchNewWindowFeatures="toolbar=no,menubar=no">
            <Property name="sap.xss.tra.TripNo" value="${item.TripNumber}"/>
            <Property name="display_order_priority" value="10"/>
            <Property name="SAPIntegrator" value="ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.roles/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_travel_expenses/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.tripform"/>
            <Property name="sap.xss.tra.TripComponent" value="R"/>
            <Property name="sap.xss.tra.PersNo" value="${item.EmployeeNumber}"/>
    So I'm kind of missing the "common thread" within your development; could you go more into detail?

  • Zoom the images in asset library thumbnail preview column in display form

    I have a requirement is:
    i have an asset library with 1000 of images and on search of it in the results page, we customized to display the thumbnail preview of that image with title link which links to display form. in the search results on click of thumbnail image it will zoomin.
    we need to have the same functionality on display form also. how to achieve it?

    How are you doing this?
    If you delete in iPhoto and empty the iPhoto trash then all versions of the photo are gone
    If you use the finder to delete photos then you trash your iPhoto library and will ahve to start over
    As to faces - that is not an option so all iPhoto users have face thumbnails
    And it is very strongly recommended that you simply stay out of the iPhoto library - there are NO user servicable [parts in it and going into it endangers your photos and other data

  • What is tthe Best practice for Variant List, Add, Edit and Display Forms?

    I have single list.  The list has a large number of columns and a large number of items (lets say 20,000).
    I want to show users a different view of the list based on clicking on a different left-hand navigation option.
    Lets say I have four types of users:  Sales, Manufacturing, Shipping and Finance. I would like to have four options in the left-hand navigation.
    All of them would be pointing at the same list, BUT, I want each of them to have a customer list form.  The only difference between the custom list forms would be:
    Each would have its own set of views, and hence its own default view.
    Each would have its own New, Edit and Display Forms.  The only difference between the forms in one variant list and another would be: The order of the columns and which columns are modifiable.
    I would like to achieve this in SharePoint Designer in such a way that the "users" could still add/modify views and could even modify the forms from the SharePoint Menu.  BTW, I don't want to use InfoPath for obvious reasons.
    What is the best approach to meeting this requirement?  I have at least 20 sites and 70 lists overall that need variant forms made.
    BTW We are using SharePoint 2013 and I selected the wrong forum *sigh*.  But I think its probably the same answer.
    Cheers, Savin Smith

    I understand that you want to have different forms based on different view.
    Per my knowledge, there are no out of box method to achieve it.
    As a workaround, you can add the JavaScript code to the different view page.
    For example, to open different new form based on different view, you can get the windows.location, and then judge the view, then change the onclick event of the "New item" button.

  • Open Form button on UWL is disappers, after changing the XMLs

    HI Frndz,
    We created a custom UWL(workbench) by creating uwl.standard.hr(from uwl. standard.xml),and when the workflows are triggered Items are not coming to our custom UWl , but these are coming fine to standard UWL.
    So i added the WF ITEMS into uwl.standard.hr manually and uploaded, now the items are coming to custom UWL(workbench), but when we click on Items these are not launching WDP application, this is the same case in standard UWL also.
    I came to know that when am adding the WF items to uwl.standed.hr than only OPEN FORM button is disappearing in custom and standard UWL also.If i delete these added entries in uwl.stranded.hr than standard UWL items are lunching well.But WF items are not coming to workbench(custom UWL).
    Plz suggest us.

    To be honest, I have only grasped < 100% of your message in detail, but...: Windows that have a parent<->child relation must be running in the same thread. In addition, after closing a modeless window, you must not use it anymore. Instead, create
    a new instance.
    What happens if you do not create a new thread but instead open the child in the same thread (which is obligatory)? You wrote it doesn't work, but I don't know why?
    "First I have to declare the child window as a global variable".
    How do you define "global"? Normally this is a variable in a Module declared with the scope Public or Friend. But I guess you mean a field of the Form (a variable at class level in the Form).
    "I need to be able to send messages from the main window to the child window so that the child window displays the volume."
    Why does the main window has to send the messages? Can't the child window handle the device's messages itself?
    "I need to run the child window using a separate thread as both windows need to be able to process commands."
    Process commands from the device, or commands from the user operating the Forms?

  • Hiding the "Submit Form" button in Reader

    I am referring to the "Submit Form" button that is part of the application (just to the right of the Highlight Fields button) rather than one that appears on the PDF document itself.
    This is for a PDF form for a company with many branches.
    I want to create a form that users can fill out and save in Reader, but I don't want them to submit it electronically, because I need them to provide a photo as well. I just want them to save the filled-out form and then email it together with a photo to their local branch manager, and I do not have a complete list of branch managers; I am assuming that the user knows the email address of their branch manager. So I either want to hide the Submit Form botton or change it to Save Form.
    I am trying this  on a PC (specifically Acrobat 9, Acrobat Reader 9 and Windows Vista Home Premium), and also on a Mac. On both platforms, when I take an existing form and distribute it to get one that can be filled out n Reader, Acrobat generates a form that Reader displays with the Submit Form button.

    Here is the answer to my own question. Don't use Distribute Form to generate the Reader-enabled form. Instead, in Acrobat 9, go to Advanced --> Extend Forms Fill-in and Save in Adobe Reader to generate the form. In Acrobat X, go to File>Save as.

  • Doubt in Form Buttons

    Hi All,
    Can anybody tell me
    1. How to change the width of a button in a form?
    2. How to adjust / change the space between two buttons in a form?

    See the sample Code:
        <Display class='Button'>
          <Property name='label' value='    Button1   '/>
        <Display class='Label'>
          <Property name='width'>
          <Property name='noNewRow'>
        <Display class='Button'>
          <Property name='label' value='Button2'/>
          <Property name='noNewRow'>
      </Field>Add some space after and before the label property of the button to adjust its width, add a label in between the buttons and set its width property to adjust the space between them.

  • How do I remove the Submit Form button?

    I am using Acrobat Pro 9 with LiveCycle. I have created an interactive form and did not include a button to e-mail the form. When the distributed form is opened, there is a purple bar across the top with instructions to click "Submit Form" and  "Highlight Fields" and "Submit Form" buttons. I do not want this form e-mailed back to me. It just needs to be saved by the user and uploaded at a later time. Saving it after the user fills in the fields is not the issue. That is working fine. But the user may be confused by a button saying they should submit the form. Plus it is my e-mail address in the field and I don't want all these forms showing up in my e-mail box. This happens whether I choose to distribute it with "Automatically download..." or "Manually collect..."
    Does anyone know what can be done to prevent the form from displaying the "Submit Form" button?
    Also, one user did get get a warning when saving about that not being the optimal way to send the data. I believe it said to press submit form. I'm sorry, I was not relayed the exact warning, but it was something to that effect. It did, however, save correctly.

    Pzaidel: YOU are a freakin genius. Great suggestion-worked perfectly! Here's how I did it with a form created in Indesign:
    Do entire backgrnd layout in Indesign-convert to regular PDF.
    Open New doc in LC-standard way-create all fields.
    After completion when you open it in Adobe Acrobat, you will see the "Submit Form" at the top next to "Highlight existing fields".
    Go back to your LiveCycle doc and:
    Highlight and ctrl+c copy all fields onto clipboard. [I don't think there is an option to copy fields anywhere within LC]
    Do as Pzaidel suggests above: create new LC form [you cannot avoid selecting interactive form....but didn't seem to matter].
    Import your PDF layout from InDesign [or word].
    THEN Paste all fields back into form.
    TA DA! No submit button.
    AND after importing and placing all fields, I even included a print button that works on the bottom of the form so anyone could see-it must be printed and cannot be submitted-at least by a button.
    Thanks so much for the fix!!

  • Create Separate Views for New,Edit and Display forms in Infopath

    I need to create a separate views for New, Edit and Display forms in infopath.
    For ex : I need a Submit Button on Display form and not in New/Edit forms.
    I tried, but i amnot able to get the changes.
    Regards, Shreyas R S

    I just validated my approach in a 2013 farm, this is precisely how it's done!
    Step 1) List > Display Form
    Step 2) Change the View within the Web Part Properties. In your screenshot it looks like you simply went to View Item on the single item, which is not the direction I gave =P.
    **Assuming you've already created the multiple views within InfoPath, this allows you to set them up as distinct defaults for New, Edit and Display, let's make that clear. If you are not even to the point of having separate views, that is just in InfoPath,
    Page Design tab, far left, New View button

  • Question:   how to resize form buttons in a CSS

    I have a question.   I am trying to implement some PayPal features into my website with some their custom button functionality.   In normal HTML, the buttons look fine.  But using a CSS template, the form buttons get squashed and funny looking.   Is there an easy way to resize them?
    (I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 on a WinVista machine)
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    To check which Raio button is Selected
    How do i show the Default Selected button and How the selection should not disappear
    Can any one suggest me links or the solution to this problem
    Thank you

    -set the value binding expression of select items to a request scope bean
    - on the page load event() ,do
    setdefaultval("ur default value")
    so each time on the page load it sets the default value. and you can get selected value by getdefaultval()

  • Adding Liking functionality on item display form

    We are looking to add the ability to 'Like' a document or an item from the document/items display form.  We've not done things like this in the past.  Does anyone have any suggestions on best approach?

    Try below:
    <form name="ratings">
    <input type="button" name="btnLike" value="Like">
    <input type="button" name="btnDislike" value="Dislike">
    EnsureScriptFunc('reputation.js', 'Microsoft.Office.Server.ReputationModel.Reputation', function () {
    _spPageContextInfo.pageListId.substring(1, 37),
    _spPageContextInfo.pageItemId, false);
    function () {

  • Prefix Numbers (Form button disabled)

    Hi all,
    I'm creating the prefix numbers for Workflow and Organizational Management, but in the form the "New" button is disabled. Is this because there is no Organizational Structure defined yet? or any other suggestion?

    Hi Steve,
    Are you using OOW4 to maintain the prefix? This transaction opens in Display mode by default. In the top left of the screen there is the Display <-> Change button. Click this and the Create button will be available.
    If you do not have the Display <-> Change button then it is most likely an authorisation issue. Run transaction /nSU53 after opening OOW4 and it should list what authorisations have failed.

  • Problem with JavaScript in my PDF Form buttons

    I am trying to have my user click on a button in my form on my website and e-mail the form data to me.
    I am using the following JavaScript with my form button:
    this.mailForm(false, "[email protected]", "", "", "Subject", "Message Body");
    Protected mode is off.
    When I use the above statement (whether the 1st parameter is set to true or false), nothing happens – no email gets sent and no mail dialog box appears. If I change from this.mailForm(...) to this.mailDoc(...), I get a mail dialog box but, as expected, it sends the blank form without the filled-in data due to low user privileges.
    How can I send the form data with this.mailForm(...)? (Note that I prefer to use this.mailForm(...) rather than mailto:(...) because this.mailForm(...) supposedly allows me to e-mail the form without user interaction.)

    Thanks for responding.  I have been using “Submit a form” in the Mouse up event.  I had that operation do a mailto: and it worked, but required user interaction on the part of the web page visitor.  I have successfully created an equivalent JavaScript including:
        var url = "mailto:[email protected]?subject=mySubject&body=MyMessage";
        this.submitForm(url, true);
    The above sent the FDF file successfully, but again, it required user interaction.
    Then I tried this JavaScript - as I mentioned in a previous post - after you said to use doc.submitForm():
        var url = "http://mydomain.com/submit_notice.php";
        doc.submitForm(url, false);
    The above script seemed to do nothing (with no error message). Shouldn't it bring up the PHP file in the web browser?
    I have that php file, submit_notice.php, created, but I have not written any PHP scripts to e-mail the FDF file.  I have never written a PHP script to take the posted FDF data and email it, but I have used the PHP mail() function and posted variables.
    As for what I want to happen on the client side after the submit takes place: I simply want the FDF file to go to an e-mail that I specify.  Additionally, I need it to happen without any client interaction on the part of the web page visitor.  I can expect that visitor to have Adobe reader, but no add-ons or protected mode requirement.
    Please give me an example that emails the FDF file without any user interaction.
    Thank you.
