Error logs are unclear

Hello Community
    Using Sharepoint 2010 Server and the UI I created an intranet
that worked fine.
    During that time I saw that the Servers hard drives were visible in
Windows Explorer "Network".
    Subsequently, I "UnShared" all of the folders on the Server's hard drives.
The effect of that was everytime the url to the servers to the intranet reside on
the user was prompted for their username and password.
    So I copied all of the files and folders off of the Sharepoint Server that
had nothing to do with its operating.
    The problem is now, no account can logon, not the farm account or any account
can logon to the intranet.
    I am however able to access Central Administration but the trying to logon
to the intranet returns:
        "Error: Access Denied"
    I created superuser and superreader accounts, granted full control in User
Policy to the web applications but still I am denied access.
    Below are excerpts of the Event Viewer errors:

    I think the Logs would explain better but how do I read the logs in 14 hive
and get any understanding out of them?
    Thank you
    Shabeaut

Hello Alex Brassington    Before I rebuild from scratch I am going to  try and find out which error will make them all go away because I have been in a similar situation before with this error so I am going to do what I can remember that
I did then. On another point I was wondering is there anything out explaining how to read the 14 hive logs? I single space my paragraphs because I didn't know the forum would know where my paragraph begins and ends. Thank you Shabeaut  Note:This time
I used Notepad and selected WordWrap

  • Dml error logging  - are exceptions redundant?

    Hi there
    Heard alot about dml error logging and looks good in practice.
    In a data warehouse environment and wish to make use of this in a pl/sql procedure - I'm thinking is the only exception I would neeed know something like
    when others
    then
    insert into error_table values(sqlcodes,sqlerrm);commit;
    raise;
    Another question as purely a background routine with no user interaction do we really need the raise - I know many posts talk about having ir or raise_application_error to alert user something went wrong but in purely batch procedures is this really necessary?
    Also what is the error_stack exactly and how can you query it?
    Any advice/thoughts?
    Many Thanks

    there a discussion going on this issue:
    WHAT is the purpose of RAISE in an EXCEPTION clause ?
    RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR
    this will report an error and will break out. Usually used to report errors while debugging.

  • Oracle AS "Internal Server Error" (logs are available)

    Hello,
    There is a J2EE web application that runs on Oracle AS 10g. Configuration is as follows:
    Oracle AS 10g
    Oracle DB 10g
    Oracle Content Management SDK
    It randomly gives "Internal Server Error" but there is no explanation about what really is wrong. If you wait and try again, you can access the page that gave error previously. I use Internet Explorer 8 to access the application.
    I tried restarting application server, even restarting operating system. no luck.
    I also tried renewing classes12.jar jdbc driver. No change.
    You may find some logs below. I can not paste whole log output here as it is to much. Only latest a few lines that may help about what is wrong.

    First of all, thank you very much for your helpful answers.
    The problem was, we launched another server for test purpose. HTTP Server in both servers collided, so changing the HTTP Server Port in test machine solved the issue.
    P.S.: I didn't know test server was up when i wrote this problem in here. Sorry for misleading you.

  • COGI Error log update after GM reprocessing

    Hi all,
    I have an order which was confirmed wirth goods movement errors. I have reprocessed the GM through COGI and documents are posted and able to see in goods movement lists in the order.
    But, COGI still have error logs for the order.
    Could you please let me know why the error logs are not updated or deleted when reprocessing happened?
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    Guru

    Hi,
    Some versions of SAP does not log Manually deleted entries of COGI.
    If this log is required have a look at the SAP Note:309050, after implementation of the note. You can find the entries in AFFWPRO table with a update indicator as 'D'.
    I will not recommend this as every entry in the COGI will get logged to this table requiring enormus database space. Even if it cleared through background processing the entries will exist in this table with update indicator as U.
    Hope this information is very useful.

  • Error log not getting written

    Hello there,
    I had to edit the errors file in DS7.0 version but after that DS7.0 is not writing anything into errors file, although i dd not change any permission. I just opened the file and deleted few lines and now errors logs are not written anymore.
    Any idea how to solve this issue?

    Usually restarting slapd does the trick. Worst case, you might need to stop the server, move all files out of the logs directory, and restart. If that doesn't work, then there's probably something wrong with the system or the configuration.
    I've never tried it, but the rotate-now function might fix it too.

  • SQL server error log size is too big to handle

    I am working with a large database on windows sql server 2008 R2 such that it has to run continuously 24x7 because of that it is not possible
    to restart the server time to time. It is kind of monitoring system for big machines. Because of this SQL server error logs are growing too big even some times up to 60-70 GB at a limited sized hard drive. I can't delete them time to time manually. Can someone
    please suggest a way using which I can stop creation of such error logs or recycle them after sometime. Most of the errors are of this kind --
    Setting database option RECOVERY to simple for database db_name
    P.S.- I have read limiting error logs to 6 etc. But that didn't help. It will be best if you could suggest some method to disable these logs.

    Hi Mohit11,
    According to your description, your SQL Server error logs are growing too big to handle at a limited sized hard drive, and you want to know how to stop the generation of such error logs or recycle them after sometime automatically without restarting the
    SQL Server, right?
    As others mentioned above, we may not be able to disable SQL server error log generation. However we can recycle the error logs automatically by running the
    sp_cycle_errorlog on a fixed schedule (i.e. every two weeks) using SQL agent jobs so that the error logs will be recycled
    automatically without restarting SQL Server.
    And it is also very important for us to keep the error log files more readable. So we can increase the number of error logs a little more and run the sp_cycle_errorlog more frequently (i.e. daily), then each file will in a smaller size to be more readable
    and we can recycle the log files automatically.
    In addition, in order to avoid the size of all the log files growing into a too big size unexpected (sometime it may happen), we can run the following query in SQL Agent job to automatically delete all the old log files when the size of log files is larger
    than some value we want to keep (i.e. 30GB):
    --create a tample table to gather the information of error log files
    CREATE TABLE #ErrorLog
    Archieve INT,
    Dt DATETIME,
    FileSize INT
    GO
    INSERT INTO #ErrorLog
    EXEC xp_enumerrorlogs
    GO
    --delete all the old log files if the size of all the log files is larger than 30GB
    DECLARE @i int = 1;
    DECLARE @Log_number int;
    DECLARE @Log_Max_Size int = 30*1024; --here is the max size (M) of all the error log files we want to keep, change the value according to your requirement
    DECLARE @SQLSTR VARCHAR(1000);
    SET @Log_number = (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM #ErrorLog);
    IF (SELECT COUNT(FileSize/1024/1024) FROM #ErrorLog) >= @Log_Max_Size
    BEGIN
    WHILE @i <= @Log_number
    BEGIN
    SET @SQLSTR = 'DEL C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log\ERRORLOG.' + CONVERT(VARCHAR,@i);
    EXEC xp_cmdshell @SQLSTR;
    SET @i =@i + 1;
    END
    END
    DROP TABLE #ErrorLog

  • Remove the Error log from Order screen

    Hi,
    We are getting error below while order creation from webshop (B2C implementation)
    "No Connection could be made to IPC" This error comes when IPC down. And cleared the error also to IPC stop/start and done the price calculation successfully to using "Update" technique.
    But, still that error log is there in CRMD_ORDER screen in error logs area (red color button). How to clear/remove this error from this screen?
    Please any one help me out on this...
    Thnx,
    Suriya.

    Hi Suriya
    Prakash is right, if you want to delete the error message from the existing doc, please follow waht he said.
    But there is a possibility that you get run-time errors when you edit the same again. The document with error was created with a config in place. Now if you change the config, this will not change the existing docs but will change the documents from now
    As Prakash suggested do the error deletion process in test mode or Sandbox, then see if you get any Runtime errors, otherwise
    I would suggest
    try deleting the one the inputs like item and other stuff on the document. this should take the error off. Please let me if this works,
    Dont forget points

  • Clear error logs

    Is there a way to clear the error logs on the collection server so that i can start with a fresh count?
    Right now I have thousands of errors listed, and I don't really want to have to scroll through all the ones from last year, etc.
    But I can't find a "clear log" setting in the 32-bit console.

    check your Tools menu, Enterprise Options for "Keep all error data for ".. and modify accordingly. Then make sure the error logs are purged as a task. See help "Purging the Database".
    I created separate tasks for each purge function because I am a control freak and I want my workstation history to be retained for reporting.

  • Read sql error log, skip lines that are in a exception list

    Could someone help, I am creating a nice powershell script to read a sql server log file but to skip lines that are normal in a sql server. the "normal lines are held in a SQL table.
    To expand.
    I run a query to get the list of exception lines using invoke-sqlcmd  this creates $TextEXP
    this will contain things like "Microsoft Corporation", "All rights reserved", "Starting up Database"
    I then connect to a sql server using SMO and want to read in the error log where the text is not matched the values in $textExpI want to avoid reading extra data and process it. I have a work round but its not a nice clean as its hardcoded the match.
    $ENV =$srv.ReadErrorLog()
    |? {  $_.text
    -notmatch'This
    is an informational message only'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'No
    user action is required'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'found
    0 errors'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Microsoft
    Corporation.'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'All
    rights reserved.'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Server
    process ID is'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'System
    Manufacturer: '-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Starting
    up database'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Using
    ''dbghelp.dll'' version'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Authentication
    mode is'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Logging
    SQL Server messages in file '-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Setting
    database option'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'The
    error log has been reinitialized. See the previous log for older entries'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Server
    is listening on '-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Registry
    startup parameters:'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Clearing
    tempdb database'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'Service
    Broker manager has started'-and$_.text
    -notmatch'The
    Service Broker protocol transport is disabled or not configured'`
    -and$_.ProcessInfo
    -notmatch"Logon"-and$_.logdate
    -ge$Sdate}

    So after some looking about on the web I found that you can use the | in a string
    the following will give an idea of how to use this (this is not a clean bit of code but will give you a starting point)
    $TextEXP  this is a data table from sql server with the list of values I want to skip
    The field name (col name) is extext
    Set the string to be empty
    $exclusions = ""
    #Create a string with the values in $TextExp
    Foreach($value in $TextExp){
    $exclusions = $exclusions + "$($value.extext)|"
    #remove the last pipe from the string
    $exclusions = $exclusions.substring(0,$exclusions.length-1)
    ##This will create a long string value|value|value###
    $err = $srv.readerrorLog() | ?{$_.text - notmatch $exclusions}
    ###end
    May need bit of a clean up and may be a better way but seems to do what I need for now.
    Thanks all for the help

    I have been having the same issue for the last two weeks. No real indication as to why it ever began other than I had turned off my router and Airport Extreme Base Station off for a weekend while I was away from my place.
    iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, all have no issues at all with my Airport Extreme Base Station. Can stay connected throughout my living room, bathroom, bedroom, no issues whatsoever.
    My 5 month old MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz Core i7 Airport is sometimes perfect, able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue. Then, for no reason, I won't be able to join my wireless network, or when I can join, I can't pick up an IP address. And then it will connect, pick up and IP, and then it won't browse. No real rhyme or reason to when this will happen, or when it works.
    I thought that it was an issue with my MacBook Pro, but then my sister visited with her brand new MacBook Pro 2.26 Intel Core 2 Duo, and while a month ago she was able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue, this weekend she had all of the same issues I was having.
    My XBOX 360 and MacBook Pro have absolutely no issues with the wired connection. Only my WAN seems to have this issue.
    Did you ever find anything more to this?

  • Were are the "error logs" saved to?

    Were are the "error Logs" saved to.  My Lookout 6.0 system crashed last night for no appearent reason, other than the building A/C unit went out and the room became very hot.  The PC that is running Lookout was still operating and the call-out system running on it notified me that Lookout was down.  I started the system back up with no problems.

    Hello,
    The only place where you can see what happen would be in the Event Viewer from your Windows computer.  Go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and you will see in there the Event Viewers.  Hope this helps

  • Oracle errors in Weblogic Error logs appear in non english

    We have a problem with weblogic error logging. Specifically, in a managed server's log file, Oracle errors such as ORA-XXXX show in Greek, not English. We are assuming
    that this is because the timezone is Europe/Athens. However, the weblogic application server runs with user.language=en, user.country=US. What's more, there are 4 application servers and 2 of them have this problem. The oracle database is accessed via weblogic datasources.
    Oracle database server Setup: Oracle Server 11gR2 running on Oracle Linux 64 bit, timezone set to Europe/Athens
    Weblogic Server: Weblogic 10.3.5 running on Oracle Linux 64 bit, timezone set to Europe/Athens
    The managed server, according to jrockit, the jvm runs with the following language related system properties:
    user.language=en, user.country=US, user.timezone=Europe/Athens
    The question is: How do we tell oracle / weblogic to log english text for the ORA errors?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    I digged in the weblogic installation directory and it seems like the domain configuration wizard messed up the jdbc configs for the data sources.
    The config xml files for the data sources in the /domain root/config/jdbc directory had oracle driver but the test query was for pointbase. I double checked from the database.xml file in the init-info directory and corrected the entry in the datasource config xmls and voila!.. the errors were gone.
    I am not sure if this was the right approach and whether i have solved the issue or simply patched it.. so I am keeping the question open. If any one has any inputs I will be grateful.
    If the mods/admins feel that the thread should be marked as solved I will surely do so.
    Thanks.

  • Sap Payroll error log report

    Hi All,
    We are developing Report on SAP Payroll log with the error message . Is any table exist in SAP where we can get the standard error message repositery and then convert it in the User freindly error message ?
    Thanks
    H

    Hello hg,
    Before developing report on SAP Payroll error log I suggest taking a look at below blog. There is a new functionality from SAP to improve payroll data validation and they are calling it "Control Center Add-On".
    This is going to be a free add on for anyone who is on EHP7 and NetWeaver on 7.4 release. The general availability is June 2nd 2014.
    Improve payroll data validation with SAP Payroll control center add-on
    Hope this helps.
