  • Your free song balance is out of date

I had a free song from Coca-cola, and have the "1 Song" icon up in the top right of the screen. I've redeemed the song, but the icon still remains, and now every time I click on "Get Song" I get the above error message and can't download the song. Any ideas what's up. I'm on 7.0.1.8.
    Thanks.

If you haven't already, try logging out of your iTunes Music Store account and back in and see if that properly refreshes your balance.
If not, contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them.
    Regards.

  • Free Song Balance is out of date!!!

    Hiya,
Does anyone have any idea what this means ????
I am trying to purchase music but keep getting this message and then the purchase does not go through???

Sign into the iTMS, and it should rectify itself (ie go to "My Account" and sign in with your Apple ID or AOL Screen Name). I had the same problem with the Coke promotion.

  • "Free song balance out of date" Can't clear it to purchase songs - ideas?

After going through my Coca-Cola Free iTunes songs, and downloading all the tracks I wanted, the last Free Song notification box didn't clear.
Next to my account name at the top right of iTunes, is a box with '1 Song' in it, that just won't go away.
When I click on 'Buy Album', a box pops up saying 'Your free song balance is out of date. Click OK to refresh, and try your purchase again'. Tried it - nothing - box still says '1 Song' and I can't purchase anything because of it.
I've reinstalled iTunes 7.0.2 but the box is still there and I still can't purchase any songs. I don't know if a prefs file needs deleting, but wouldn't know which one to delete!
Any ideas would be hugely appreciated.

I had the same problem and resolved it by updating my account:
    1) Log into your account by clicking on your user name in iTunes (next to the song balance)
    2) Once logged in, Click on the "Reset Warnings Button" near the bottom of the page
This should clear the song balanace and allow you to purchase additional songs.

I think this has to do with having a gift card balance. When I did not have a gift card balance, I was able to use the "update all" button. Then I redeemed an iTunes card and got the same message you did, but I was able to update each app individually. When I used up my iTunes balance and it was back to $0, I was able to use the "update all" button again.
The update process on iTunes and the iPhone is very buggy. I can't get any of my updated Apps to sync with the iPhone today. I hope they get this worked out soon.

This is not a message that Adobe is providing, and I recommend that you not click on the link. It sounds as though you might have malware on your computer.

In iTunes did version 12 get rid of free songs?

If you are in the US then there are some free songs again, there should be a 'Free on iTunes' link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the music store homepage in the store - or this link will take you straight to it : https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewFeature?cc=us&id=96048294 7
Not sure if it's available in other countries, I can't see it here in the UK

  • "credit balance is out of date"...BUT WONT REFRESH!!???

I got, and used, 2 iTunes gift cards. On the 2nd purchase, I exceeded the balance of credit I had, so i figured it would jsut charge my (checking) account as usual. Well, I was able to purchase and download the songs ok, but my balance is "stuck", at +$9.61......now when I try and make purchases, it wont let me, and gives me an error "your credit balance is out of date, press "OK" to refresh and try again".....BUT IT WONT WORK...
    What now?

Log out and log back into iTunes. Don't simply quit iTunes and restart it.

  • WARNING! Your Flash Player may be out of date.

I keep getting this popup when using Firefox: "WARNING! your flash player may be out of date." I can tell it's phishing and I've never had this problem before. How can I get this to stop when using Firefox? It doesn't happen with IE.

Thank you jscher2000 for your help. My issues started around the time that I made a mistake, about a week or so ago. I fell for a "get free stuff for taking a survey" trick. A momentary lapse in sanity, sorry. I have tried emsisoft malware scanner, and it initially found and quarantined something called Gen%3aTrojan.Heur.Hype.luX%40aGKciof (B) - about which I could find no information.
I have since done two deep (and painfully slow) scans with emsisoft, and it now says no threats are detected. But downloader and flash update intrusions continue to happen, only in firefox, not in chrome or IE. Like fettermann, I get one of two different interruptions. I haven't taken a screen snip of the other one, sorry. I have also done the firefox reset to default, which did not help. I think uninstall and reinstall would essentially do the same and likewise not help.
I am gratefull to know the programs listed above are freeware. I will invest the time to go through them all, as soon as possible.
I do not have very many plugins, and all of them I have had for anywhere from several months to more than a year, and they hadn't caused issues before. (I pretty much think it was the survey scam.) I have seven: silverlight (for netflix), adobe flash, hulu desktop (which I never use but I think was included either in firefox or on my pc at purchase), MS Office 2010, Windows Live Photo Gallery (also a default I think), Google Update and iTunes Application Detector.
Hulu is the only one I would disable and consider unneeded. And as it's been there all along and I've never used it, not sure how it could be the source...?
I will let the forum know results after I get through the list of malware scanners.
Again, thanks very much to all for the info and advice.

  • I keep getting pop-overs saying my Java is out of date.

I keep getting pop-overs saying my Java is out of date. I already have updated Java and removed any previous versions to prevent a false reading. How do I block this from happening. This occurs on all of my computers when using Firefox. It is getting out of control.

What does the Mozilla Plugin Check page say about Java?

Overall, you may have some Malware installed that is generating that message in an attempt to entice you into installing something that is even more malicious.
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
    * [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]
    * [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware]

    * [http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/ ESET Online Scanner]
[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

  • WARNING! Your Flash Player may be out of date. Please update to continue

Can someone please help me. I have contacted Mac support 3 times and no one can help me and was recommended I go onto this forum.
I keep getting a pop up on my Mac, Macbook Pro, iPhone 5 and another MacBook we have in the house. It says "WARNING! Your Flash Player may be out of date. Please update to continue."
I have done a bit of research and a few websites have said it is a Trojan. I have updated flash, reset safari and a heap of other things.
I am not tech savvy and just want this fixed. Someone help.
    Thanks.

    Hello Katie,
Apple frequently flags older versions of Flash Player as out-of-date in Safari, prompting users to upgrade to the latest, most secure version of Flash Player.  The current version of Flash Player is 14.0.0.145.  If you have a version prior to this, you'll need to upgrade in order to view Flash content.  You can also visit this page, http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/, to verify the latest version of Flash Player for your OS platform.
Please note that Flash Player is not supported on iOS devices (iPhone, iPad). I suspect you'll continue to get similar messaging when visiting web sites on these devices that contain Flash content.

  • WARNING! Your Flash Player may be out of date.   how can i solve this problem/

WARNING! Your Flash Player may be out of date.   how can i solve this problem/

The Flash update alerts are fake, and are intended to mislead you into installing malware and/or to steal your identity. They're the result of an attack on your router that has caused you to get false results from looking up the addresses of Internet servers. Requests sent to well-known websites such as Google and YouTube are redirected to a server controlled by the attacker.
The router's documentation should tell you how to reset it to the factory default state. Usually there's a pinhole switch somewhere in the back. It may be labeled "RESET." Insert a paper clip and press the button inside for perhaps 15 seconds, or as long as the instructions specify.
Then go through the initial setup procedure. I can't be specific, because it's different for every model. The key points are these:
    1. Don't allow the router to be administered from the WAN (Internet) port, if it has that option.
    2. Set a strong password to protect the router's settings: at least ten random upper- and lower-case letters and digits.Don't use the default password or any other that could be guessed.
    3. If the router is wireless, or if you have a wireless access point on the network, use "WPA 2 Personal" security and set another strong password to protect the network. If the router or access point doesn't support WPA 2, it's obsolete and must be replaced.
During the time the router was compromised, you were redirected to bogus websites. If you ever connected to a secure site and got a warning from your browser that the identity of the server could not be verified, and you dismissed that warning in order to log in, assume that your credentials for the site have been stolen and that the attacker has control of the account. This warning also applies to all websites on which you saw the fake update alerts.
